Of course a prostitute can be raped, but the problem is that a lot of people are laughed at, ridiculed and threatened not to press charges and/or go to the police not just prostitutes. This is a crazy problem that needs to be solved...

read a great comic about how sex workers essentially reverse the power dynamic we're used to. Strippers, for instance, commodity sex but suddenly they have the power because if you want a lap dance of face titties you have to pay. And there's this weird disconnect that this action is for anything other than money, and that some men don't really know how to interact when the power dynamic is reversed. The comic covers it way better than I just did, it's a good read.

This is a sensitive topic for me, since my sister has been a prostitute for over two years, and yesterday she was robbed, beaten, and almost murdered by a customer.
But she is afraid to go to the police because of her profession. I can't imagine being tortured, strangled, threatened with a gun for hours and not be able to do anything about it.

Aside from raping a prostitute after feigning paying them, you can even pay them to have sex, and then half-way through they change their minds, and then it's still rape if you continue.

It's unlikely to happen of course, unless you're having sex in a way they forbade from the start (a**l, without protection, or something).

The tricky thing is to prove it though. Even for non-prostitutes, proving rape can be tricky, since it often ends up being two people saying the opposite thing. No neutral witness, etc.

Prostitution is basically institutionalized rape in areas where it is legal. Legal or illegal, the women that participate in prostitution have been damaged by being told subliminally throughout their lives that their only worth is in their body and their appearance. They've been raped by the patriarchy before they ever even have sex.

There are male prostitutes too... they can also be raped... I don't think it's right to only focus on women getting raped. As others have already said, you can be raped no matter what you age, sex, gender or profession.

But a lot of women are not raped in porn. They sign a contract to be in a porn without reading the fine line that says the porn will include a**l or some s**t like that. Then they claim it is rape because it includes something they don't want to do because they didn't bother to read the contract they signed. That is still consent. Don't sign legal s**t if you don't bother to read it.
