Iv'e never had a problem like that, all my friends are into anime,
I love anime a well, when I got my new school I went to the library
to search for mangas and got dissapointed when I found none, *cries*
ridiculing a dork about their anime is like ridiculing a jock for his
football...
emo I love anime!!

Yeah, in our school you either are in the 98% hate it, or the 2% love it section... even though I do half-worship the stuff, I have other interests (antichrists, vampires, Lord Voldemort...)

I think most normal people don't like it because they think it is either (a) meant for kids, as most people only know of the G-Y7 rated ones (Yu-Gi-Oh! *which pwns* Pokemon, DBZ) or (b) porn because they look at porn alot and have probably seen "hentai" written on alot of porn sites.

Most people would think you are weird under the presumption that you either like 6-year-old shows, or animated porn

I've been lucky enough to avoid that situation.

There's also a group of girls in my school with the same kind of overwhelming anime obsession. Whenever I see them together, they are drawing/exchanging manga/talking about anime etc. Everybody knows them as "anime girls" or something like that. And they really don't even try to hide it.
But the truth is, that I'm at least as obsessed as they are, but somehow people haven't noticed that. I guess I should be lucky then confused

anime is just a form of entertainment.. some like it more than others.. i mean sure, sometimes people do tend to get obsessed over it but they still shouldnt be ridiculed because of it.. i guess it all depends on a matter of perspective.. maybe the other people that make fun of it dont like it because they dont understand it.. dont let anyone elses words affect you, that would be really dumb

I dont have that problem insteadthe kids in my class dont even no what anime is (what complete idiots) but some of them try to steal my best friends manga one of them even gets into her desk and takes it and she reads part of it and doesnt understand a thing becaue she doesnt read the first one so all that day we r followed around by her while she questions my friend its really annoying good thing schools out!!!!

...oh crud she's talking about me!!! I'll kill nicole!!

They only dislike it because they havnt seen any anime they like.
When people hear Japanese animation they automaticaly assume DBZ and Sailor Moon. Not that those are bad series its just they dont like them. Anime being just a cartoon, there is always a genre that someone will like. If they try.
