Anime is bad by many standards, actually, even in Japan. It's a subculture that's NOT well-liked by the adult population. This is why anime fans of all origins get picked on.

Not all origins. Since in France, anime is very popular and quite accepted in there. By adults too.

Europeans still get picked on. Even the French. Especially when they leave the country.

I knew a foreign exchange student who went from France to England, then to America. She was picked on SO horribly in England that she stopped watching cartoons and had such an attitude about it when she came here.

It can be "accepted" in any country. That doesn't mean that no one gets picked on.

Hmm, well to be picked on, it depends from the place. There's place where it's less accepted than others. But still, almost anything can be a reason to pick on someone.

I remember that I was picked on about it before...but still, I've took it in the positive way, they asked me the common questions like "hey dude, you read porn ;D!" so I've decided the best was to let them see by theirself...beside of answer stupid things and insult them. Usually, people who don't know much about manga/anime (beside of the stereotypes (porn, pokemon, etc, well you all see the pattern) aren't idiots like others are claiming them to be.

Well, it's a stereotype. Surely because of nudity in some anime...or hentai sections on porn websites (D:< bad bad underage people goes on porn website, but since I'm a good little boy, I don't..Actually, I like to show the good exemples to kids...even if I sucks at this ._.!)

Stereotyping isn't mean, it's just a kind of ignorance. We can't help it. Sure it can seems mean on some points, and nasty. But if you have the patience enough to talk to them, or let them see, you could make friends out of this.
