• I Wish this Ship Would Sink

We’re resigned to our fates, alone – at last
Dragged by our grievances, into the past
And to think for one moment, we can forget ourselves
In this false pretense we call a world

Bitterness dwells as we come out our shells
Itching along the walls of our cells
Viciously attempting to find a home
One far from being ours alone

To the blind eye, we benefit distrust
    Hidden agendas, crippling – corrupt
    Many fearsome beings, tossed aside
    Fearless bravado taken in stride

For the hearts, reborn, weeping vengeance
We grow weary and forlorn, ignorance – a given
We’ll become victims with our eyes shut tight
Better yet, murderous harlots, throughout the night
