• Lacking a true heart,

    It burns like wildfire,

    Something beyond anyone's comprehension,

    A heart heavy with sorrow,

    Wandering around senselessly,

    Searching endlessly,

    Looking outward and within,

Not love, not kindness; only sins,

    Seeking for it,

    A heart that's lit,

Only pure & free of pain,

    With love & faith,

    Life full of obscurity,

    My heart only adds,

    To our world of defiance,

    To our carelessness & unworthiness,

    Reaching beyond one's senses,

    Into a world of unknown,

Finding all but my ultimate desire,

That heart possessed by only one,

    Persisting to live with faith,

Although with no sense of realism,

    The only way to freedom,

    Through God alone,

    My foundation, my rock,

    Invisible, yet so distinct,

Lifts my heart when it falls,

    When all but hope fails,

Looking upward with eyes of fear,

With my heavy boat, I have to steer,

    Asking in desperation,

    Heart w/feelings of gratifications,

Solemn vow I make to thee,

Make my life what it's mean to be,

Take my load and let me free,

So that I can finally see,

No longer a heart of stone,

    No longer feeling alone,

    Living life as a successor,

    Following God; a leader,

    My life lies at rest,

    In God's hands alone,

    For all time to come,

    My assigned duties done
