• Sleep forest, sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Oh, how you must sleep;
    Summer is gone, Autumn is here.
    Green to red, now you must weep;
    Now you must await Winter’s end.
    You are not the only one.
    Most all other forests have to do
    The same as you, that’s right;
    They have to cry too.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Through every endeavor.

    Ah, how the Moon rises when the Sun falls;
    So does your sleep as the seasons cycle.
    Spring is your Dawn, Summer your Afternoon;
    Autumn begins you Dusk, Winter’s depths are your Twilight.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Forevermore or never.

    Now your tears of red have been shed,
    A pool of flames thick at your roots,
    And yet your bark remains untouched.
    Despite the fire your skin remains without soot.
    The world treats you cold,
    Putting too much on your plate.
    How could they treat your kind like a pack of stray dogs;
    You give them clean air to breath,
    You give them your children to keep them warm and safe in their homes.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Sleep forest, Sleep.
    Forever you shall weep.

    Some humans are too ungrateful to see
    The real problem at hand, that of your
    Dying species, falling all around.
    Soon this planet will become
    Uninhabitable, and only some may
    Survive in the end, but your deaths
    Will be the cause of ours.
    No matter how we try to deny it
    The fate of every living thing on
    This planet is intertwined.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Sleep forest, Sleep.
    Through every endeavor.

    It would be best if you slept for the rest
    Of time, we will protect you and our best.
    Remember the Old days.
    No one would dare harm any of your
    Kind without permission, now you’re
    Treated like slaves, but no one would
    Harm you if there were laws put
    In place to protect your brothers and
    sisters, mothers and fathers, and you too.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Forever you shall weep.

    So, now that you’re sleeping, you are
    Safe from the worst of my kind.
    Your tears of fire litter the forest floor
    Like a sea of fire, soon to meet the ire
    Of Winter’s harsh cold, I’m not going to
    Call Winter, the lord of snow, “Sire”.
    The Forest is my domain, in it, the trees
    That are my subjects limit my
    Power to protect the Young and
    The Old, the Near and the Far.

    Sleep forest, Sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    I wish the magic would come back to
    The world, but it left, never to return.
    I wish the same as you, I wish the Elves
    Would come back and sit in your
    Branches once again; bring back the
    Magic, the magic that once let trees
    Walk and talk, I wish we had the
    Ancient days back. This is why you have
    To sleep, so that one day we can see the
    Elves of myth and legend once again.
    That day may be soon to come, when
    The cause of their leave vanishes, my
    Kind drove them off with War and
    Blood. The day we die out they will
    Clean up the mess we’ve left stained in the
    World until it’s condition has been
    Restored to it’s former glory.

    Sleep forest, Sleep.
    Sleep you shall, forever.

    Sleep forest, sleep.
    Forevermore or never.

    Sleep forest, Sleep.

    Somnus Silva, Somnus.
