• When you see me, do you really?
Do you see the pain I exude?
Or are you just looking at my face,
and thinking I'm as shallow as you?

How often have you come to me,
Some problem with your social life?
Not even caring that the smile you see,
Has cracked and broken long ago?

When you stare at me, you see happiness,
    Glee and confidence abound.
Do you truly look at all? Are you blind?
Can't you see the truth behind it all?

Are you even there? Listening at all?
Can't you tell I'm drowning in despair?
Or, like the rest of the world,
Do you just plan to lock it in the basement of your life?

    You stare, I stare back.
I'm trying to tell you now!
You're seeing what society wants me to be!
    You're seeing a false half!

My life is a ruin, blasted to dust,
I need to feel something more,
yet here you stand, same as always,
    going on about your problems!

You make me so angry, I just want to scream,
It's hard to believe you can be so stupid!
Can you really not tell, you're staring into a mask?
While all along, I'm yelling, "Help me!"

    You see the cheerful smile,
You see the mirth and glee,
You see all, "What could be wrong?"
    Do you really see me?
Because it seems you're looking at just half of me.
