• Spring

    Like every other baby leaf,
I spend my time doing very little things.
When I wake, I observe the nature around me.
The sun coming up from the horizon,
the stillness of the night slowly alternates into a morning spring breeze,
and the early critters start to go on to their normal routines.
During the day, I talk to the leaves near by, say hi to the passing animals,
and look at my surrounding some more.
But, all the time always have the same thing on my mind, fall.
I constantly wonder what its like after I fall, Hope it is like my own little adventure,
the winds of fall will carry me away,
far away from the tree I grew up in.
I can’t wait for the adventure to finally see what over the big green hill that stands in front of the tree I live in.
I always see squirrels, rabbits, foxes and all the other woodland creatures run over to the other side of that hill with their eager faces.
Robins, Blue Jays and other birds sore rapidly over that hill.
I longed to see the there and during the fall I hope I finally will.

    Summer

It is now the season of summer.
I’m bigger now and much greener.
This season is such different from spring,
the sun shined more often which makes the animals hot,
so they try to find places to cool down.
Some went to the small, shinny blue pond across from the narrow dirt path,
and others rested under the tree I live in.
But most of them still went across the hill to the other side.
Maybe, there is a giant cool lake, and a giant tree that has enough shade for anyone that come.
But, I’m still stuck on this tree.
The animals that I knew already had children and they
and their children get to go to the other side of the hill.
But, I will hopefully have my chance to see what is over their.
At least a peek would be fine for me.
As long as I get to see it.

    Fall

    The fall is finally here!
Not only am I finally able to leave this tree,
I have been recently changing color from green to yellow then orange and now I’m a bright red!
    My stem feels loose.
I am so ready to go,
but I will wait for the fall wind to whisk me away.
That would give me a better chance to get over the hill.
I could feel it coming, the wind, it’s coming!
Suddenly, I didn’t feel the tree anymore, all I could feel was wind.
    Nothing but wind!
I could see myself getting closer and closer to the top of the hill.
I was so excited finally I get to see what is on the other side of this darn hill.
But, as soon as I almost reach the top of the hill, the wind suddenly stopped and I began to fall, fall to the ground.
As I hit the ground all my hopes, all my dream, disappeared.
I could see the other leaves pass me going to the other side of the hill.

    Winter

All night I laid there hoping for something amazing to happen.
I hoped it was all the dream and I was actually laying by the lake on the other side.
But every time I woke up.
I was still at the same place.
My color started to fade, I was turning brown and crispy, to crispy.
I felt so sick and weak.
I continued to hope it was all a dream .
    But I wasn’t, I didn’t make it.
As I started to die a strong wind came I was suddenly blown, I looked and I was on the other side.
I finally made it and it was every thing I dreamed I would be.
The animals played happily in the meadow of lilies, in the giant sparkly blue lake, and under a big strong looking tree.
And with that glance of what I longed to see, I died peacefully.
