• Heusha looked at Niushuas sleeping face. He remembered that night. For it stuck in his mind like a thorn in a sheeps hoof. Surely Niushua wouldn't want to upset their relationship status by choosing him as her champion to become a goddess, would she? Heusha loved Niushua not like a friend but more for he and she had always been there for each other. Niushua tried to deny any feelings because she was scaried but Heusha still tried. And promised to be there when she needed him. Niushua stired in bed and Heusha quickly closed his eyes. Niushua seeing him asleep got up and grabbed her linen and wool robe. She walked down to the creek where she bathed. Heusha got up and started breakfast. He cracked chichen eggs onto the tin slab and stuck it on the flame. Niushua came in after a half an hour. Her honey hair in a braid and all shiny. Her tail flicked around and she layed her ears forward. She smiled and handed over a urkie tail fish. Heusha took the fish and began preparing it. Niushua sat by the loom and started pulling wool through it. She was making a rug. She pulled the red wool and knotted the blue. Heusha called from the eating table and sat down. "Niushua did you mean what you said last night? About me being your champion?" Niushua nodded. "Well then I had better begin making our provisions for the trip." Niushua smiled a huge smile and began to eat. Heusha looked at her and noticed she was very very skinny. She looked up and blushed under his gaze. His eyes lingered on her legs. "Niushua when was the last time you ate?" He asked. Niushuas eyes widened and she shook her head. "Tell me now!" Heusha demanded. He heard her sob and stood by her and patted her back. She looked up and he saw the fear in her eyes. "A month." She whisipered. Heusha felt the world spinning and he fainted.
