• The young woman looked timidly at the mass of steel and circuits that was now known as "Babel". She was scared but she knew that it would be better than the life she had just run from. Her marks were still visible from her father's drunken rampage the night before and those gave her the courage to walk up to the building. Her mothers last words still ringing "This is your fault, just look at your daughter now!" as she stood before the doors. A man in a dull color uniform looked at her for a minute as she looked around.

After the guard had made a noise she finally saw him blended into the wall by his uniform. He seemed to look her in the eyes and then look at her hands, where no marks were present, and then he said in a deep rumble "Do you wish to join up here?" with his voice seeming to vibrate to the essence of her very soul. She was looking at the ground now unsure of what she would be used for, but still sure it would be better than the life she ran away from.

"I want to join you-" She said almost seeming to want to say something else. Her Eyes were almost full of tears and she almost jumped as a kind hand was placed on her shoulder. The bear guard led her in and a woman was putting papers into boxes with a book of matches in one hand. The attended coughed and the woman at the desk looked up. "Fresh blood eh? We can find a place for you, but we have plenty of openings so if you want to try your hand at something go ahead. We have plenty to do but a special position is open as the bosses aid if you want." She said lighting the contents of one box.

"Well what does the aid have to do?" The first woman asked timidly.

"Anything he wants you to aside from personal stuff. I have no idea what he does, because you would be the first to get the job. If you want to do it go ahead but we have plenty of other openings if you want." Said the desk woman. The first woman thought then said "I'll do it. I will take the job." She wanted to know what it was like to have somebody to look up to who wouldn't end up making her feel worse than before.

"Name please." The desk woman said holding out a contract. The first woman looked over the sheet and signed it. "Margaret Idon, huh?" She said putting the name down on the computer. Margaret was thinking about the contract. All she had to do was keep personal files in order and possibly do odd jobs for him but the contract seemed to give her a lot of freedom and protection. She walked up with the guard with a bit of a smile. She was shown her room and was surprised. it was spacious and had a bed made of one of the softer stuffings known around, teracloth. "Wow, do I get special treatment from day one?" She asked going back to her childhood manner. "No, we all get rooms like these. You can request to have it painted later but you seem tired. If you want the room the boss is in is down the hall, door to the right. It is blue in color." With that he left to room to go back to the guard.

As Margaret walked to the door she was excited. Was this the role-model she was seeking? Was he kind, was he also a feline like her? The door opened to a small room with a monitor and and shelves against the wall. it had enough room for 3 people to stand side by side and not knock over the shelves and was long enough for 6 people. "Errr-" Margaret said feeling out of place "-are you the boss?" she finished worried she had the wrong room. Why did he have to have it so meek anyway, wasn't the big room right next to it a better place?

"Well yes. I just got the message." Blade said looking at his new aid. "Well mag, you don't mind do you?" Blade asked to make sure.

"No. I used to go by that nickname." Margaret said timidly, holding her hands to her legs like she normally did when nervous.

"OK. Well Mag it's nice to meet you. Currently you don't have anything to do, as there is nothing really going on here, but it looks like you have had a though day. I won't ask if you don't want me to. So if you want to go back to your room go ahead, but if you want a tour of this place I can call somebody. Nobody really does anything so I'm sure they would be happy to give you a tour." Blade said sitting back at his computer and going back to playing his Game. The phone next to Blade rang. "Green earth service. what do you need today?"

"I wish to contract a woman." A males voice said on the other end. It seemed wheezy, out of touch. Each word seemed to be drawn from some long plane of thought and hardly made it past mouth.

"I wish you to get a life, neither is happening. Have a good day." Blade said putting down the phone. Mag felt that was rather rude but didn't say anything, as she felt the request of the man on the other end was worse. "So do you want to get a tour?" Blade asked looking at Mag, his mask still distracting her.

"Well I would like that. I have no idea what this whole place is like." Mag said. She felt like she was intruding. The first day there she was already given everything she had lacked in her old life. Soon after a guard was called and Mag took a look around the base. After that she went to bed for a nights rest, during witch Mag had a wonderful dream that everything was touched with her special sugar making it better than it normally was. In the middle of her wonderful dream she suddenly saw the opposite to her wonderful sugar, the bitter sauce that spilled all over making everything almost fall apart. Before this finishes she wakes up the next morning.
