• "Tell me what you are seeing."
    "I'm. . . flying. There are stars everywhere and. . . a man."

"Describe the man's face for me."
"H-He's. . . " Celeste Monty let out a scream, followed by a yelp as she held her eyes closed tightly. Her hands had raised into little fists shielding her face.

"Stay calm, remember. Breathe. Go back to the stars, focus on how bright they are. You are fine, you're hovering in a starry sky, remember?"
Celeste recovered quickly, her breathing slowed. She was back in her trance. . .

"Now, when I snap my fingers, you will be fully awake and conscious."
And as promised, with a snap of his fingers, Dr. Monroe had awakened Celeste from her hypnosis trance.
    --------------------

My eyes fluttered open, splashes of color poured into my vision. I was back at Doctor Monroe's office. . . What had I come here for again. . . ?

"Ms. Monty, I know you had requested the hypnosis treatment, however, the effect it is having on you is. . . quite disturbing and terrible frightening. I suggest we do not try this again." Dr. Monroe's eyes wandered towards the clock on his desk, my time was almost up. . . "I know, I know, we're taking a big risk here, but, I- I feel as if I'm on the brink! My dreams... they're, I know they're attempting to tell me something but-- I. . . don't remember my dreams very much . In fact, I don't think I remember them at all."

"Ms. Monty, forgive me, but we'll have to resume our session at a later appointment. I will see you next Tuesday." With that, he got up and left the room, probably expecting me to leave as well... But I couldn't stand it! I know I'm forgetting something big, something important.. .. Something magical. Gathering my purse and recomposing my self, I made for the exit.

On my way home, I could honestly swear I kept seeing the same face repeatedly on different people. The only issue was that I couldn't recognize who the face was. Maybe I am crazy, , , Ugh, but everything just seems so unbearably dull around here. I want adventure again! . . . Did I just think about having an adventure, 'again' . Odd. . . I've never been on an adventure.

"--Oh! I'm so sorry Miss. . ." A stranger had bumped into me... but... he had the face I can't recognize, the one i keep seeing everywhere... Do I ask if I've known him? Or not? Bah! what a complex situation. . . Suddenly the stranger did something very peculiar. His face moved closer to mine and our lips touched. I quickly pushed him away. "Excuse me! What do you think you're--" The stranger smiled and simply said, "I've come back. . . Just like I said I would. . . I've kept my promise. . . Now what of you? All that talk of letting our memories together live on. . ." His expression grew saddened.

It was here that I noticed how attractive and brooding this stranger was. His sleek raven hair seemed to accent his pale skin. His gray eyes were searching me... For... Something.

"I think you're mistaken, you have the wrong girl! I've never met you in my lif--" Ah! A searing pain blunder through my head. Giving me a killer headache. I looked at the man again... He-He was so familiar. . ."I've got to go." I scurried off before anything else happened...
    ------------------------------

    "I've got to go."

I watched her as she left me. Left my side again. . . I suppose this is what happens when you take a gal to see the universe and all it's beauty. . . I felt for the pack of cigs in my top left coat pocket. lit one up and started walking. Never stopping. I couldn't. That's the burden of being a nomad. Never being able to settle. . . Come to think of it, that's what probably drove her away. Drove her to lock away her memories of me and our adventures. . .

    Then I was gone.

I knew what a normal passerby-er would've seen. A man there and suddenly not there. What had really occurred, was my jump from one world to the next.

"Last time I ever take a woman with me..."
