• I ran down the cold hallway. My breath danced in front of me, tickling my skin as it flew past me. The floor was hard and cold as my bare feet hit against it making my footsteps echo up and down the hall. It was silent except for that and my breathing and I couldn't tell if my heart really was beating that loudly or if it was my imagination, or me hoping it was, that this was all a dream.

I didn't really know what it was I was running from. All I knew was that it hid in the shadows and waiting for people to unknowingly fall into its trap, and it was after me. I don't know how I got out or how I even got in for that matter. I looked over my shoulder and I could see the darkness getting closer. Would it go away if I shown any light on it? That is what people in movies or books would do, but this wasn't a movie or book, it was real life. I didn't think things like this lived in real life, but here I am running for my life.

When did this all happen? Why did it happen? If only I could be the normal me again, the one that hides in the shadows, avoiding people, but now I'm running from my past life. Running from my past had always been a problem for me. I didn't like it and it was the reason I am myself today. I hate thinking about and yet I do all the time. I know most of my past, but parts of it I have no memory of and I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.

Snap out of it Farah! Who had the name Farah anyways? I don't like how I have to tell myself what to do, but I guess it works. Don't other people try to reassure themselves inside their own head? I'm not about to ask. Before I remembered to watch where I was going, I had already tripped over the mop lying in the middle of the floor. I hit the ground and slid a little on the slick floor. Who left that stupid mop there?! I looked up and the shadow was already in front of me, its eyes glowing yellow-green like a cats.

I was all ready to scream, but one was not needed. The creature started wailing itself as a beam of light shot out of it, almost completely blinding me and I wanted to shut my eyes, but decided I would want to know what happened. The light absorbed the dark light making it bright and a figure stepped out from behind it. It was a guy about my age, I had never seen him before in my life, yet I felt I knew him. He walked over and smiled at me.

"How many times do I have to save your life?" I guess he was playing but how could he save my life when I didn't know him? I was an average looking girl, he must have thought I was somebody else. I didn't say anything, I just looked at him confused. "Where have you been? Don't look at me like that! Go on get up! Jeeze! What's wrong with you?" I did get up, the floor was still very cold, but I continued my puzzled look because I really was.

He walked even closer until one more step and he would be walking on me. He had green eyes, she wasn't the kind of girl to fall over guys, especially ones that didn't know, but his eyes were beautiful. He sighed then wrapped his arms around me. Feeling more confused than ever, I decided to finally speak. "Um, who are you?"

"Stop trying to be funny." He kissed my cheek. Wait?! Did he really just kiss me?!

    "Who the heck are you?!"

"You really don't remember me? You have to, I love you, and you love me."

"I don't know who you are or what you're talking about, but leave me alone!"

"But... Fairah, you have to remember me."

"How do you know my name?!" This day was getting weirder and weirder and I have a feeling that it was going to get even worse.
