• A coffee maker beeped loudly in the distance as a television screamed it's everyday messages. It was now the afternoon, but the worries and curiousity of the morning's event was still high on topic.
Diana knew all to well of how odd the situation was, for she was one of the confused neighbors. She didn't expect much nor was she as paranoid as the others, but she did find it something extrememly out of the ordinary.
"Lets just hope nothing will come of this but a bad night." She told herself as she read the newspaper that spoke of the same thing as the news did on television. 'Terrorism in Willingend!' they both bluntly spoke.
Diana threw the magazine in the recycle bin just as she grabbed the remote and shut off the television. She didn't want to hear anymore of what the news had to tell her, she never relied on them mostly because of how dramatic they make everything. Always made things seem so much worse then what they really were.
"Well," she murmured, grabbing her book bag and her cup of coffee to go, "Time to get going," she sighed, "Lets just hope the professors won't freak out about this whole thing...I don't wanna be hearing it everywhere I go."
Sadly her mental request went unsatisfied, for as soon as she stepped out of her apartment building a man came up to her screaming nonsense like 'aliens' or 'monsters'. That was only the first sign of how her day was going to be.
Despite how annoying the walk to campus was, somehow Diana was able to make with a piece of her mind still in tact. She eventually made it to her home room, joining the rest of the unsettled students. Whispers of conspiracy jumped from one person to another while Diana simply sat between it all and waved off some people who thought it wasn't rude to just go up to her and say whatever they wished about the incident.
"I don't really care for it," she told one her friends, Kerry,"Just something for more of the world to worry about." she protested.
"But Di, this is something serious! What if they were rioters! They could've burned you and everyone's else's homes down!" Kerry was just as worried as everyone else was, it was in her nature to be.
Diana sighed, knowing that she wasn't going to be able to settle down Kerry when it came to her anxiety.
"Kerry, just don't worry about it please? It's no big deal. I'm fine now aren't I? So stop worrying so much." Diana knew that none of those words got through to her troubled friend. How ironic she thought it was, that she was one of the victims of this weird incident and was the least bit upset by it, unlike all the others who simply couldn't stand not knowing what caused all this.
This 'other' being whom was keeping his eyes over all of them almost found it astounding that she, alone, wasn't stirred by the incident one bit.
"Hmmm..." he pondered, "She could be of help to me..."
