• Story Two: Part one
    Separation...

I had had two more dreams since the last one. They were a girl and a boy. I had tried to push the dreams out of my head, but the same picture kept coming back, the image of their dead bodies...
The man with the sword had not hesitated when he striked them down. He killed them so fast. Now that image was imprinted in my mind. And it would never come out.

The men had pitched their tents and everyone slept but Sanji and I. We could not go to sleep. We watched as the guards went in and out from tents switching shifts on watch.
Sanji though seemed to be watching very closely...
After what seemed forever night became day and all the soldiers were out. They ate looking at us all the while, as if mocking us. They did not bring any food so we sat and watched as they ate.
Soon after they ate the girl, Miku, came with the big man with the sword right behind her. He brought her to the tree Sanji and I were at and tied her to the tree.
    "Psst," I whispered, "Hey Miku."
"Huh?!" Miku said not knowing who was talking.
    "Hey Miku!" I said again.
"Ohhhh! How do you know my name!?"
"No talking!" One of the soldiers said.
I know her name too, I thought, so the dreams are real. So that means those others are really... dead. It wasn't just a dream they are visions or something.
I sat in complete and total silence, hardly breathing. The image of the two people flashed in my mind again.
No... they can't be true. That’s impossible!
I sat in thought and my mind drifted through all the things that I wish never happened and the things that I want to happen.
    "Kid." Sanji whispered.
I turned and looked at Sanji.
    "Yeah?" I whispered back.
"Here, cut yourself free." He said pushing a piece of broken glass into my hands.
    "But how-"
"Don't ask just get free and pass it to the girls over there." I obeyed and started to free myself. As I looked over at my hands I noticed that Sanji had already freed himself...

I slowly cut myself free and passed the glass to Miku.
"Miku cut yourself free." I said in a hushed tone.
    "What?"
"Just do it." I said pushing the glass over to her.
Finally noticing what I was doing she took the glass and started to cut the ropes that bonded her.
    "Oww!" Miku said hushed.
    "What?"
"I cut my wrist." She said.
"Can you move you hand?" I asked sympathetically.
    "Yeah."
    "Try to get free."
    "Ok."
She struggled but soon she was free.
    "Ok I'm free."
"Alright." I said. "Sanji she got out."
"Ok. I have a plan. Listen I’m only saying this once…”

The time for the plan to start was almost here. Sanji’s plan was for us to leave when the guards changed for their shifts. We would run into the woods and split up and then come back together later. The wrought we were taking was going to be like a triangle. We were just hoping that the guards wouldn’t see us.
It was time for the guards to change. The first two went in their tent but the other two were still gone. Soon the others went in.
“Go!” Sanji said. We all ran into the woods sprinting all the way. We ran far then split up each to their own. I went left, Sanji right, and Miku ran a straight path.
Good the guards havn't spotted us yet, I thought.
I ran a little farther when I heard shouting.
"Get him!" One of the soldiers yelled. "Aim for the legs! We want him alive!"
Bullets imediatly filled the air. I dove dodging their fire. More bullets hit the ground around me and I rolled over again and again trying not to get hit.
I sat up and got behind a tree squeezing my arms together so no part of me was see.
    "Where did he go?!"
"Spread aout and search!" The leader of the troops yelled, "He's only a single kid!"
I was breathing hard and my heart was pounding in my chest.
Everything was silent, time had seemed to go still. Then, I heard the crunch of leaves under a foot.
    Bump, bump.
    Another crunch.
    Bump, bump.
    It was getting closer.
    I have to move!
    I can't stay here! Move!
The sound was getting closer with each step.
    Why can't I move!
The footsteps were only a few steps away.
    MOVE!!
In an instant my body jolted foward and I began to run for my life...

The bullets hit all around my feet and legs even around my face. The bullets were so close that it cut my cheek. Warm blood ran down my face.
    I can't keep this up! I thought.
I kept running though. My leggs were led weights dragging my body down, but I kept running. My lungs burned with an intense fire, but I kept running. I continued to run straight.
Straight!? I ran straight for too long!
Now the plan wouldn't work, unless I found a way to find where I am.
This isn't good. Now the whole group is separated...
