• I was snuggled into Jack's arms, cosy and warm and... not entirely sure this was where I was supposed to be.

Six weeks had passed since the "limpet" incident. Me 'n Jack had gotten together after one week of apart-ness, and since then I had this niggling feeling in the back of my mind. Like when you know there's something you're supposed to do, only you forgot what.

    Like...

Like I had forgotten how to be his girlfriend.

It's impossible, I know. We were only apart for, like, a week. Limpet didn't get her way. I won again. But... things happened in that week. Well, mainly one thing.

    The Kiss.

Leo nudged me in the ribs. "Look at that. GWB up ahead."
    "GWB?"
    "Granny Without Bra."
"How do you notice these things?"
"It's a gift. And, in case you hadn't noticed, guys automatically look at girls jugs."
I shoved him. "You're a pig, you know that?"
    "It's part of the gift."
We walked in silence for a few minutes, then turned off down the path through the Arnold Ray Reserve. ARR.
    "So you seriously never noticed?"
"No. Why would I? It's not like I have anything for them to look at."
"Are you serious?" He walked a little way off the path and sat down, motioning for me to join him. "Jeez, Leah, half the school is panting after you."
"Are not. Anyway, I have never caught a guy staring at my jugs. Jack never did."
"You jest. You guys went out for that long and he never drooled over your boobs?"
"Shut up. It's not like I'm missing out. Anyway, no boyfriend, remember?"
He stared at me solemnly. "If I was your boyfriend, I swear I would check out your chest. Among other body parts."
I laughed. "Yeah. I bet you would 'tap that áss' as well."
    "Yeah. I would."
Before I could move away, his lips were on mine. I don't know how long it went on for. My brain short circuited upon contact. One of his hands held the back of my head, and the other was on my waist.
Eventually, we came up for air. I flopped down like a stunned mullet.
"Well, I don't know about you," He said hoarsely, "But that was awesome."
    And the worst part?

    Secretly, I agreed.

When Jack used to kiss me, I melted. Now, I just stand there and wait for the sparks to start. But they never do. Must be on the blink.
But I knew it was more than that. Kissing Leo made kissing Jack like pecking an old aunty on the cheek. And I knew that, however long I was with him, I would never get back the melting-and-sparks feeling.

That was why I had to end it. Soon.
