Chapter 9~The Seven Deadly Sins~
Time was slowing down as we all waited for the final blast from the Plutonium blasts. I am not going to fail this mission! This isn't the time for a screw up. If this failed then this was just a waste of time and lives. Blood has already covered the battlefield, smoke was filling the morning sky, and screams of pain has filled the ears of the living. I need to end this! The ground began to shake ferociously while the debris of the blasts is beginning to glow a bright red. Fire began to erupt from all of the debris lying on the ground. It was like a domino effect with dirt flying in to the air once more, making the ones in hiding getting cuts among their bodies. Imperialist forces were beginning to retreat to their HQ with blood dripping on their bodies. The surprise thing was, I had destroyed the bases holding up the buildings that were as tall as a giant. Quickly they began to drop up on the already limping forces. Their spines were getting crushed as the skyscrapers began falling down up on them. Blood splattered across broken glass on the dusty ground. In my mind this plan was going to be done for the better. Now, there are over thousands dead because of my pursue for the purging of evil. Who was worse, me or them? After I have seen the reality of my plan, I want to destroy what I had just commited. The blood, screams, tears, and all of them were caused because of my evil deed. I scanned the area for my forces, still baffled at what I had just done. Once the smoke cleared, Isaiha and Corey stood there, eyes wide open, shocked, and disappointed in the action that just occured there. Tears were starting to come up to my eyes, it was worse now, because the smoke cleared and now the dismembered bodies are able to be seen. "Corey and Isaiha, move out now. Forget about this moment please. Just go on with the mission." I said with my head hung low in disappointment. Corey moved on to the right side of the troops, Isaiha and Ferris took the left side of the troops. It didn't take long for the Imperialist troops to forget about their dead comrades, because now they were firing large turrets down on Corey's troops. Quickly they took cover, and Isaiha was ordering his troops around to get them to different positions. "Ferris, take 1,000 men behind the enemy lines. We must take out the large guns." Isaiha said in commanding tone. Ferris nodded and left immediately. An unexpecting turn of events occured as soon as Ferris left the area. Mortar shells slammed on to the ground, making giant craters full of blood. Bodies were beginning to fly in the air. Just to look at it, pain welled up in our hearts. Isaiha quickly ordered for his troops to hide with in the buildings. Sadly, the Plutonium blasters had destroyed about 70% of all buildings. Our troops moved forward as Isaiha changed his mind about the buildings. When they has gotten about a mile from the HQ, Isaiha had to slow down. They had stopped in a trench that the Imperialists had made before. "Ferris, do you hear me?" Isaiha said as he was held up in the trench. "Yes, sir, I have made an amazing discovery." He replied with extreme anxiety. "Report to me, Ferris." Isaiha asked with curiousity. "The Imperialist General, Shadows, has been spotted in the HQ and I think that I can assasinate him. May I, sir?" Ferris reported to Isaiha. I knew what was going through Isaiha's mind. He didn't want to see Private Ferris to get hurt or worse, dead. "No, private." Isaiha said with a stern voice. "Sir, this maybe the only chance we have to get this evil man dead. You told me personally, if you have a chance, you give everything you have to offer to complete your main goal. This is my main goal." Ferris replied with more authority than he truly had. "Alright, then you may go, but please be careful. This man is known for decieving the human eye." It was too late though, Ferris had already began in a sprint to the HQ. He was a very fast assasin and was quite skilled in the mission that he had just put himself in. The true question that me and Isaiha were both thinking about, is he skilled enough to take on the notorious General Shadows. After about a few minutes of waiting on Ferris to complete his mission. I had my battle cam located on the window that Shadows was in. He was staring down at the battlefield underneath his headquarters. Laughs were bursting from his mouth. What was so funny? He is losing this battle, and soon he will be surrounded by my troops. Suddenly, I understood why he was laughing. Whistling sounds were covering the air around the HQ and the rest of the battlefield. Without a doubt, it was about rain pain. Soon the only thing to be seen in the battle cam is bright light. "Kroll, take the V Skyline to General Isaiha's position. NOW!" I said in a rush, but he wasn't going to make it there in time. "Kroll, use the whatever energy is left in the plutonium blasters to fuel up the back up engines. Hurry up, we have no time to spare now." I said looking back at the battle cam. "Yes, Tim. What about the aerial attacks?" He said deeply disturbed of retreating from a certain victory. There wasn't a lot of planes left to fight the V Skyline so I made a decision that could possibly be a bad one. "Send the transporters in to the battlefield. They should hold them off until you get back." Pilot Kroll acted quickly, but the rain of pain was soon to begin. The whistling sounds were now stinging my ears and I was the one in my homeland. From a distance, smoke could be seen with metallic objects streaming through the air. These metallic objects were only one thing, they were all mortars. About 7,000 mortar shells blazed the sky, ready to impale the ground and make us disappear. The worst part is, everyone around the world was viewing this battle. Every move, everyone has seen. I programmed this to happen because I wanted the world to know what the U.N.W. stands for. Now I would assume that audiences are going to be in awe at the next move. Kroll got to the battlefield and realized that he was running out of ammo for his other guns. The turrets were beggining to run out of ammo. His shields were now at 73%, a real improvement from the previous look over. Worst part of it all, the middle section wasn't the only one being shot by mortars, the left and right flanks were trying to storm around. Liutenant Litrell was joining back with the right flank as soon as he was done setting up those bombs. Still the mortars were about to hit and there were still bullets coming from Imperialist troops from the frontlines. They were going to fight to their last limb. If they were willing to do that, then we will do that and more. The rain had come down up on the V Skyline, and some had reached their destination towards the barren ground. The shield percentage was drmatically decreasing, soon Pilot Kroll appeared in a small box to the bottom right corner. "Tim, we can't hold these much longer. Sorry, we must retreat." He said in dissappointment. "No, you will move on to the HQ. There you will disperse your engineers on to the roof of the HQ. Arm them with as much ammo and guns as you own now. Use every last bullet to rips those Imperialists down." Once the V Skyline had retreated to the HQ, blood began to fly up in the air. Screams were beginning to echo in the dark cavern that I had situated myself in. I watched as Isaiha was tryin to help a man with his dismembered arm. "Sir, it just keeps on bleeding! What do I do?! The pain hurts so much, burning sensations are rippling throughout my body!" The soldier cried out with tears wetter than the ocean. Pure sorrow and pain had crept from his blood shot eyes, and soon enough those blood shot eyes closed. "Tim, I don't want him in there anymore tell him to get the hell out of there!" Isaiha said frantically. Private Ferris could be seen in the window right next to General Shadows. "Isaiha, it is too late, Ferris is right next to him." Isaiha was now too afraid to move. None of this was for the better. I had played out my strategies to my way, but I played my cards too soon thinking that I could win it in a rush. My stupidity was my poor soldiers living hell, now. There is no other way to put it better than, we are losing the battle. Soon, the V Skyline will get destroyed, unless a miracle happened. Apparently the French weren't coming to help out, because I have yet to see a single man appear from their divisions. It feels like betrayal, now that they haven't come to help out the troops who are dying to give them freedom. Private Ferris was now in the room with General Shadows. I could see that Shadows was now talking to him, and that didn't play out for the better. Now, Shadows had the chance to completely destroy him with the power of his troops. Instead, Shadows decided to fight this battle by himself by taking a roundhouse kick to the side of the face. Shadows got back up quickly laughing, and had yet to strike Ferris. I could see that Isaiha was watching all of this, because his eyes were intent on seeing who was victor. Ferris picked up his idiot-minded opponent and shot a bullet through his head. For me, I couldn't believe it. Not one part of this is true, because that wasn't him. Instantly it hit me, one phrase came through my mind. "Remember, Shadows is a master of decieving the human eye." This wasn't funny now. Everyone was excited and this was the worst part. It will be their happiness that will become my soldiers' one weakness. "Isaiha, tell Ferris to get out, it is a trick made by Shadows!" I said in a hurry. Private Ferris was waving our flag out the window in the show of victory. During Ferris's performance, a dark figure walked behind him with the smile of a demon. The eyes were filled with joy, and a revolver in his right hand. Sinisterly, the dark figure announced to the battlefield,"Let this gun bond us!" Slowly, Shadows, the dark figure, pulled on the trigger and a powerful bullet blazed its way through the barrel and through the heart of Private Ferris. The poor lad's body fell from the four-story window and to the dusty ground. Everyone in the trenches was shocked at the event that occured with in a matter of a few minutes. My mind was in a rush. "Tim, we have surrounded the HQ, but we are losing troops by the minute!" Justin, Kyle, and Litrell said. I didn't care though, this was ridiculous. Our one chance at killing that evil b*****d, ruined! Corey was the only one that didn't look shocked, as if he knew something like this was goin to happen. Zero was still ordering troops, because he didn't believe he had to worry about personal problems. Morale decreased by each second that had passed. It was pointless, we have lost this battle. Isaiha wasn't believing this, tears were streaming down his face with a frightened look across his face. He was on his knees trying to recooperate from the tragic loss that occured here. "Isaiha, calm down. He died for what he believed in, right." I tried soothing him. "Yes, but he didn't succeed and now I have lost all that I have ever loved now. He was my brother, Tim! How can I make things right for killing off my own brother?" He said blaming himself for the stunt pulled off by Shadows. I didn't know how to answer but I tried anyways. "I know what has happened is a big loss for you. I regret ever sending him out there. You tell me what I can do for you to forgive me?" I said in a promising way. I truly did regret this choice that I had made to let him fight Shadows by himself. "If you truly want to know." He said in an emotionless way. "You will let me have our troops through the smoke gernades that creates a path to the HQ." I thought about it and wanted to tell him no, because all that he was doing was commiting suicide. Selfishly, I agreed, because he may be our one chance of winning this battle. "You may go, but please do your best to stay alive." Isaiha didn't answer for alittle bit. "Tim, I know I never told you this." He said trying to hold the tears in. Corey helped him out by aiding right next to him. "I always thought that you were the best idol I had ever looked up to. You mostly make the right decisions and I am not willing to blame you for this incident. Humans were meant to live and die. Just like you say,'You must take in the truth and reality of things no matter how much it hurts you.' Ever since you announced that, it has been my moto. Since you are my closest friend, can you bury me with Ferris, my brother, in this battlefield?" Isaiha said to me. I was beginning to have tears well up in my eyes. Once again, a piece of my life was going to be taken away from me, and it hurt way too much for me to speak. Hot, wet tears soaked my cheeks with my hands clutching my heart. "Yes, yes, Isaiha I will. You were like a brother to me. I will never forget you, Isaiha." After that I ended the transmission and laid my headphones on to the desktop with no motive to talk with anyone. My brother was about to die, how was I suppose to take it? We may have not been actual brothers but the bond was as strong as one. Tears drops slammed against the stone floor, and the cold took over my body making me shake. I watchd the battle cam to see what was going on with the battle. All of the troops had thrown their smoke gernades. Isaiha was prepared to hop the ditch and run full blast to his old partner, Private Ferris. Tears were clouding his vision also, but so was his hope for seeing his brother again. Once the smoke came out, Isaiha got out of the ditch and shot his M16 at the Imperialists in his way. The most memorable thing I remember from this is the fact that he had the U.N.W. flag on his back reminding the world that we are still fighting for peace. The soldiers in the ditches were smiling and cheering for him to reach his destination. "I fight for peace! I don't believe that a god will save me. I don't believe that an angel is watching over me. I only believe that my family watches over me! I FIGHT FOR PEACE! U.N.W.!!" Isaiha chanted out through the smoke. I put on the headphones again and listened in at the generals. "Every single man, get out of the trenches and exterminate the damned!" Justin said over the radios. "Main section march forward!" Corey said to lead on the troops to victory. Isaiha was now at Ferris's grave, fighting off each demon that came at him. He had picked up Ferris's M16 and was shooting each gun in each hand. Isaiha had become the world's idol, one that had scars and blood from head to toe. The flag had gotten torn and now was getting worn away by the minute. "I do this for you my brother!" Isaiha dropped the M16s and pulled the flag out of its holster. Proudly he waved it in the air, as the smoke cleared making him visible to everyone. The disgusting part happened, but this was in slow motion. The first bullet penetrated his body out of anger, the second out of greed, and the third out of lust. Isaiha's body was getting pouned by bullets. Then the fourth came and hit him out of pride, and with a smile made of blood, he was hit by the fifth bullet made out of envy. The statue-like Isaiha was beginning to wobble and bleed excessively. A sixth bullet made out of gluttony hit him in the right arm and the last bullet made out of sloth shot through Isaiha's cranium. Isaiha stumbled around for a little bit, but he was determined to do something. his hands were cupped around the handle of the flag, but the warm blood covering the handles made it harder to grasp. Lifting the flag high in the air, he plunged the handle deep in to the ground. With a growl of victory, Isaiha fell to rest for the final time. A smile covered his face and his fresh, warm bloody hand cupped around the base of the flag handle has made this battle turn for the better. Tens of thousands of soldiers piled in to the battlefield and the reinforcements of the Imperialists were on their way. A sudden explosion erupted from the side of the HQ, with a small trace of a canister shell. Coming from the sides, a naval fleet was sailing proudly in the seas. Ferociously, the naval ships battled the Imperialist reinforcements and even the mortars that tried destroying our army. The U.N.W. troops had already gotten nose to nose with the Imperialist army. Guns clashed, fists banged against bone, and revenge had taken place on this day. A bloody, gorey, but strangely honorable scene that has taken place this day. Now my dead friend will be able to rest in peace. I will make it law to never tear that flag from the ground. It will be a memorable monument of my dead friend. R.I.P Isaiha, the man who was stricken down with the seven deadly sins.
