Chapter 8~The Eagle and The Snake Pt.1~
Lying on top of the V Skyline, I watched the stars cover the dark blanket which most call night. It has been about a half hour since Tsunade left to sleep peacefully. Who can truly blame her? Tomorrow morning the world will change. A day that will wear us all out. There is even a possibility of an aftershock to the battle that may shake up the world. Anxiety rushes through my body as the questions and possibilities pour in to my brain. Eager I am to begin the battle of dark and light. I believe that everyone is ready for the battle of Versailles. A sound of rough footsteps disrupted me from my fantastic dream. Although they were not skilled in the quiet ways of Tsunade, the steps had a mountain climbing attribute to them. Only one person is this fast at climbing the side of huge obstacles. The person who has this skill and strength to climb this without any troubles is Corey. As soon as he reached the top of the V Skyline, he jumped in the air acting angered and threw a fist at my unprotected face. Except the fist landed in to the titanium covering of the V Skyline but he looked like he had a small, abnormal obsession to hit me. Afterwards, he ended up lying next to me on the roof of the V Skyline. Confusion clouded his face and a broken, lost soul lies within those clouds. He was moving around akwardly as if there was something that he thought was weird about this situation. I saw nothing up here that looked weird or strange. After about a few moments of akward silence he began to speak in a curious way," You remember how most people were against me and Bekkah?" I nodded slowly as I began to wonder what he was esculating to. "I have began to wonder why you were one of the few people that was on my side. What was it that made you not hate our relationship?" When he asked this question I had already known what to say. "Corey, I believe that relationship is sacred and it connects two people together with a force beyond controlling. Another reason is that Bekkah made you happy and that is all I like to see in people. Without happiness, you see rage, sorrow, and solidarity" I answered smoothly and without a pause. "Why do you care if I am happy?" This question both confused and hurt me because of the anger he lashed out with the question. "I want everyone to be happy. Look at what happens when we are not happy and recieving good news.War breaks out all over. Trust decinigrates from different relationships. Also, you are like a brother to me and brothers have each others back." I tried answering him but he still looked like he wasn't convinced. What was with all these questions? After a while though he started forming a smile and he looked at his wrist and looked back up at me in surprise. "I have got to get some sleep, Tim, I will see you soon." He said in a strangely dark way. After that last statement he left from the top of the V Skyline. Something strange that I thought weird, though, Corey wasn't even wearing a watch. I ended up leaving a little after Corey's departure. A thought raced through my mind before I headed home. The thought asked me if this is the last time I would see him. Come to think about it, most of my friends are going in to that battlefield. What if one of them dies? Should I cry or thank them? No, they will all live, I am positive that they will. During my thought process, I didn't realize that I was standing idly at the door with my keys being shuffled in my hands. My mind snapped in to reality and I unlocked the door in to my comforting household. My bed looked so good to be in right now. The pain in my back was relentless from the long time on top of the V Skyline but it was worth it. Tonight was probably the funnest night that I have had in a while. But partying has its prices and mine is the loss of all my energy and must pass out somewhere. So now I fall like a boulder on to the bed and head first in to my slumber. Early in the morning I awoke with an aftershock of the activity last night. Last night had surely taken its toll on my body but everyone else seemed hyper and active. Outside I saw soldiers already getting on their gear and meeting up at the ruins of Chicago. Smiles of adrenaline, working like machines, and heart rates skyrocket are all that I see on the soldier's faces. Deep down, though, I could tell that they were afraid of the battle that they were going up against. They weren't stupid. They knew what was about to be. This battle will make a question pop in everyone's mind. Who will come back and who will stay? Although, this scared them, the citizens had hope spread across their faces. While the soldiers made their way to Chicago, I had to take a different route. I was suppose to lead this battle and to do this I had to be hidden while giving orders. Assasination wasn't out of option for the Imperialists. The Holy Knights and Tsunade were the only ones who knew of my secret site. The site was located somewhere that no one would look in to even if they could. In a hurry, I walked to my mysterious site. My destination was to get to Bourbonnais. Within that small town lies my site and the site holds magnificient secrets. Bourbonnais wasn't destroyed anymore by war, because we had rebuilt it in to a nice home for us. I headed for the place where all of this started at. All of my dreams, pain, and revolution began there in a highschool. This place was being rebuilt for a long time now but I purposely did this, because if it had been the only thing left destroyed it would make it too obvious for Shadows. If it were rebuilt the citizens would sooner or later figure out where my secret site was. I believe that miracles could happen and a small chance that somebody would find my secret site. I walked through the front entrance of the deserted school. It always felt akward walking in this school since I was here at one point. The shadows that lurked in the halls was even more fearful, because it just reminded me that all of the students that went here, during my time, are either dead or captured. Quickly I scavenged through the halls and when I got to the main gym, I stared at the emblem below me. Slowly, I pulled out my old pocket knife from my time back in this school. Rust covered the poor knife but I placed it in between the cracks of the tiles. When I did this, the knife slid in to the crack deeper as if it fit in to a keyhole. I turned the knife to the right and the tiles began to split apart. After pulling out the knife, I backed about ten feet from the opening of the floor. The tiles were covering over each other as they pulled away and once they were done moving, there was a 5 by 5 foot square in fron of me. It was lit by red lights that led down in to the deepest of depths. The first step I took in to the square, the tiles began to move together again so I moved faster in to the trail ahead of me. The stairway lasted about five hundred steps before it finally ended, letting me step on to rough quarry flooring. It wasn't the most comfortable place to be, but in here I could be away from the outside annoyances that coulod possibly distract me. I walked around in the dim-lit cave, until I found the main command center. It was built with some of the best technology ever created by man kind. There was a flat screen monitor that was over 72" long. The other two monitors were only 62" long. The main monitor would be the "battle cam" outlook. This way I would be able to command at any moment as if I was really there. The other two monitors were to get a look on the outskirts of Versailles. These two were my "Eagle cams", because they were located on the left and right wings of the V Skyline. With the ability to look up from the sky I would be able to see about everything that goes on in the battlefield. Sadly, the battle cam is the only camera that I can see the troops on the field with. Looking at all three cameras I noticed that the V Skyline was now at Spain. I noticed this with the GPS installed in to this control room. I sat in the king-like chair and waited for the battle to actually begin. An hour later, the V Skyline had reached over to Paris, the capital and city adjacent to Versailles. The troops were starting to pile out of the drop ships that the V Skyline let loose on to the area. Already fighter planes had come to fight the V Skyline. The shields were already up before the planes had gotten to the V Skyline, so that our troops could retaliate. There was an onslaught of missiles piling in to the side of the enormous ship. Shields were dwindling in energy but they pulled through with 68% energy left in them. I decided to take command from here, because the pilots on the V Skyline were confused about using the Plutonium Blasters. "Pilot Kroll, you must aim for the more unique pilots. The leaders will be our next objective to abolish but these pilots are evading the turrets on the roof with ease. There are about 35 of these skilled warriors. You can locate them by their tactics and strategy." I ordered with more ease than expected. "Yes, sir, I mean Tim, but what if the commander's leave the battlefield in a hurry?" He asked dumbfounded. "They won't leave because of their hate. Their passion to destroy anything that denies their way of life, they will do anything to destroy. Prepare for kamikaze pilots. Also, use the plutonium blasters to knock out the elite pilots." I said just in case they were going to do a kamikaze run too, but if they were to do it, they would look for much weaker points. "Alright, Tim, over and out." Pilot Kroll said then ended communication. The battle was getting smoother as the blasters began their duty. Each blaster located on to one pilot and as heat began to pile in to the canister beneath the blaster, a glow grew inside the blaster. When it was charged all the way, the people controlling the battle arms let go of the barricade that held the powerful blast in it. A 100 ft. long missile burst from the blaster surrounded with heat that was about to commit the crime of the century. Once it came in to contact with the plane, it exploded on to the plane destroying every single piece. Little pieces of debris flew on to several different planes and a few were the unique pilots, who scoffed at the weapon. Before I made my next move, General Shadows appeared on the middle screen but within a smaller box. Immediately, I blocked him from tracing where I was at. Then, I smiled with deep hate. "What do you want, Shadows?" I said as if I was mad about the failure of the weapon. "Well, it looks like you made a giant bird, but you forgot the fire power." He said laughing lightly. "Shadows, even the tiniest man has the power of a tank." He thought about it for a few seconds then looked like he was going to loose it. "Your bluffing. Pilots clean off your planes, immediately!" Shadows ordered to his pilots. "Sir, it is just debris. Oh wait, it is glowing." They said in nervous tone. Shadows went back to looking at me. "If you believe that this is over, you are gravely mistaken, Tim." Before he could go on, the little debris that stuck on to the planes immediately began to overheat. Unfortunately for them, I had planned this special weapon. The first blast is to make them believe that they were not in danger. The second blast comes shortly afterwards, plutonium is left on to the debris as if stuck on to it and then leaves a blast 10X stronger than the original blast. Except, there is a lot of debris among these planes. "Sir, we are loosing many fighters! I don't even know what the source is! Oh n-" The radio signal cut short from a sound of a bang louder than any cannon I had ever heard. The battle cam was viewing the carnage and devastation that occured in the air. Pilots exploded in to millions of pieces, with a weird and dark voice, I laughed toward the evil Imperialists who were now practically down on their knees. Blood was raining down on to the city underneath the V Skyline. The dismantled plane pieces scraped the sides of buildings, crushed the homes of civilians, and fell in to river beds. Rubble fell down on to the roads and the sound of explosions filled the air. It was supposed to be a bad sight but to me, all I saw was the Imperialists falling down at the same time. The sky was burning with much screams to fill in the crackles and pops. I took my gaze off of the aerial battlefield and decided to see how much my troops from the ground had advanced to the city of Versailles. Once the battle cam had gotten to this location, the troops were now in Versailles because of the fact that they did more running than I ordered them to. Already, my troops had lost about 20% of their energy, but I believed in them to go all 100% in this battle against the Imperialist forces. The first commander I saw leading a few scouting soldiers, was Liutenant Litrell himself. after locating him, I called in," Liutenant, do you hear me?" The radio signal picked up. "Yes, Tim, loud and clear." He replied back to me while looking around the corner of a building. "Alright, Liutenant, take 25 troops with you to the right outskirts of Versailles. Once there, place bombs among the buildings, but you must act fast. I have no specific time when they will be used. Do you understand, Liutenant?" I called down back to him. "Yes, Tim, but what about the troops in the building to the northeast?" He replied while aiming at the building's windows. "No worries there, Liutenant, they are scattering in to their own positions. They won't shoot at you from the building windows but, they will shoot at you from the ground when they see you. Just stay incognito until Isaiha and Private Ferris arrive to aid you. Over and out." I ended the call and right away Liutenant Litrell did as ordered. Isaiha and Ferris only took a few minutes before reaching their destination. Isaiha and Ferris were my two highest ranked assault troopers I have. Both of them were the only team that was needed to succeed in this mission. About 30 Imperialist troops were scattered on to the streets but everyone of those men were shot down by Isaiha and Ferris no matter what route they took. Isaiha was the first one to speak during the battle. "Ferris, you better be getting the next 5 men that storm out that door otherwise you will lose this round." Ferris shook his head and with a rush of adrenaline, he got out of his hiding place and rushed to the wall next to the door that the troops were pouring from. A few seconds of silence occured and a mortar shell was heard coming from a distance. It sounded like screaming but within a matter of a few moments, the old station Ferris took was completely torn apart. Debris scathed the face of Isaiha, and with a giant force Isaiha was thrown backwards against the brickwall behind him. "Isaiha!" Ferris cried out in shock. Energy breaking out through his body, he picked up his M16 and began shooting through the windows, knocking out the eyeballs, teeth, and brains from the faces of Imperialists. "Ferris, quit this rampage that you have rammed in to the Imperialists with. Rage clouds a man's mind and makes him do the worst of things." I quickly ordered in response to the spree that Ferris had created. Fortunately, Isaiha was back in to his old self in a matter of seconds and Ferris calmed down from his original state. Liutenant Litrell made his way back to his original mission. He ran out across the road first and his troops followed him. "Isaiha, Ferris get back to the main battlefield, they have pinned Zero's advance against the Imperialists. Our forces lie a mile north of the headquarters. If you get there quick enough, you may be able to get front row seats against the Imperialists." I said encouraging them. From the battle cam I saw them leave the old alley way that they fought in against the 35 Imperialist forces that scattered among the streets. While the battle cam was watching the battle going, I thought about the mad expression on Shadow's face. He quit the transmission between me and him after that humiliating defeat. Now looking back at the battle cam, I saw bullets batting against the brick that Zero and his forces hid behind. "General, take 10,000 troops and flank them to the left. Justin, lead 7,000 more troops to the right, and bring Kyle with you. Corey and Isaiha lead the forces onward through the middle. I will give you an obvious signal when this plan takes action." "Yes, Tim, the plan is a go." They all responded and assumed positions to leave with their troops at the right time. I switched my signal to the V Skyline to give them their direct orders. The shield percentage was now at 48%, and the Plutonium blasters were left with two shots. "Pilot Kroll, I want you to shoot at these two locations with one Plutonium blaster shot." I ordered him to do and sending the coordinates on a map to show him the locations. "Tim, with these coordinates no one will be hit. I guess that this is why they call you the miracle worker." He replied hoping that this would work. The engineers were already working on the shield generators trying to repair the shield. Now the blasters were charging up with amazing speed and were prepared to fire in to the city within a matter of a few minutes. When they had gone off, Shadows had his troops go in to cover, but it was the cover that would reveal them. The blasts hit the boundary line of the Imperialist forces, making dirt fly in to the air blinding everyone on the Imperialist side for a few minutes. No one stalled for a minute and our forces took off in to the right and left side. "Hold your position, Corey and Isaiha!" I ordered to them, because the blast was not over yet. The finale has yet to appear to make the curtains drop against them.
