| The Classroom of Thomas Barkhelm | 'As you pass through the doorway, you enter into a pleasant enough classroom. Situated with the teacher's desk seated facing the class and a dozen smaller desks, all assigned books, a quill and feather, ink, and paper. Along the walls well-kept scrolls are neatly wrapped and leaned up against the walls which lay covered in decorations or lesson props.'

| The Laboratory | 'A decent contrast to the classroom in nearly every regard. The laboratory is locked up at all times when Professor Thomas isn't around. Within the almost dungeon-like walls of the laboratory are kept scrolls, orbs, potions, and the like- all of which must be kept out of the wrong hands and within the sight of professional supervision. There are desks in the main area of the laboratory. These are provided facing the sparring sands where experienced magic users may demonstrate their skills to both the teacher and their peers. There are two separate study rooms behind stone walls for more isolated studies or group work.'

| Syllabus |
Classroom Protocol: All students must abide by the rules and regulations of the classroom.
This means dressing appropriately Nothing that can be easily snagged during magical demonstrations like excessive body piercings, excessive jewelry, or ordainments on their person. Nothing that can be easily caught on fire. This means hair must be tied back, sleeves and pants must be snug to the body, and any loose bits of clothing like coats, scarves, or hats must be left on the rack provided.
Students must be polite to both the teacher and their peers. Insulting other students for any reason, demeaning them in any way, shape or form, and/or causing unecessary discomfort will not be tolerated. Not all students will catch on at the same rate as others, let’s not forget we were all beginners at one point.
Dragons must be kept under control at all times. Allowing your dragon free roam of the classroom could be disastrous for the classroom, the students, the teacher, and of course the dragons themselves. When working with your dragon in such an environment, students must bear in mind that the dragons as well as themselves are capable of creating disaster.
All students must bring the necessary supplies to class every day. You may not borrow supplies from another student, this teaches responsibility and punctuality. If there is a problem in obtaining the necessary supplies, the student and teacher will discuss a solution to the problem.
All students are to report to class on time and leave only when excused. Tardiness will result in an equal amount of time after class with the teacher catching up on what you missed along with a report that will be due the next morning.
All assignments must be completed and handed in on time. All assignments must also be completed by the student or the group assigned to and them alone. If it’s discovered that any sort of cheating, copying, or plagiarism has taken place, the student will be punished severely.
Students are not to abuse the facility or supplies issued during class. Supplies are magical crafts, not toys, and are dangerous if not used properly.
Students that distract themselves during class will be punished. This topic demands every shred of attention available. Malpractice in magic can turn very dangerous.
Laboratory Protocol: All students must abide by the rules and regulations of the laboratory.
Students may not use the laboratory without supervision by a d-corp magic trained staff. Items within the laboratory can be dangerous.
Students are to practice constantly. There will be required demonstrations of their experience at least once a semester in front of their peers and teacher.
Individual study rooms are to be used appropriately. Horse play and other such distractions will not be tolerated.
Items within the lab are to remain inside the lab. Items from outside the lab are to remain outside unless approved prior by the teacher.
Again, dragons are to be kept under heavy supervision by their handlers at all times.
Duels are strictly prohibited.
Required Supplies: All students are required to have the follwing when attending class:
Lesson Plan: The lesson plan for this semester.

| Teacher's Bulletin |
This is where you can find out about the teacher’s schedule. Keep in mind that there is life outside of gaia and it includes family, college, work, and getting from one to the other. Do not press the teacher, real life can be stressful enough. If you’re in need of a certain class PM the teacher (not the main account) with a request for a private tutoring session.
This Week...
Monday: School: None Work: None Tuesday: School: 11:30am - 8:30pm Work: None Wednesday: School: None Workk: 9:00am - 3:15pm Thursday: School: 11:30am - 8:30pm Work: None Friday: School: None Work: None Saturday: School: None Work: (I have it, but I can't remember the hours) Sunday: School: None Work: None
Additional Notes: I have no car or license to drive a car so I'm on my bike. My work is about 5 miles away from my house so it takes about an hour to get to and from work, so always keep that in mind when considering my schedule. Also, times when I'm closing (Times listed 9PM and after) are always a flip-flop. Some nights we'll be slow during the day and I'll finish right at 9 and go home then, some nights we're recovering from a crazy day and we're not out until 10, or in extreme cases, 11pm.
I've started winter term. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I'll be at school pretty much all day. The only time off during that time is between 4pm and 7pm. I have a long break between my second and third class. I may or may not be doing homework at this time, but on these days, that's when you're most likely going to catch me.

| Term 1 : Summery | 'No decent teacher would be worth the boots he wore if they didn't keep track of the students they served and the lessons they ran through. Here I will keep track of each class I have held through Semester 1, the students, the student's progress, and their grades. This will be valuable for my reference and the reference of the students and parents.'

| Filler Lessons |
These are lessons that will be 'assumed' in rp rather than played out. Though it might be fun to play out all the lessons with all the students, it would be time-consuming and would require everyone to post quite frequently to keep everything running. However, the classes will consist of three parts- the introductory class which will be where Thomas assigns the magic elements to the gathered students, a private tutoring lesson where Thomas will hone in on the abilities of each invidual student, and a magic lab which will be the final. It's up to you to schedule a tutoring lab. I try not to fun more than three at a time so if they're filled up please be patient. I will continue to update this thread as lessons go on. Each student's progress will be listed in the semester rollsheet for my reference, your reference, and the reference of D-corp and its staff.
Lecture for Class 1:
"Now that you all have become aware of the basic three elements in magic I will go into more detail on the abilities of each one. As you can probably imagine, each magic element attributes to different areas of your core of being.
The magic of the body, for instance, is most simply described as being magic to enhance what your body is physically capable of doing. Spells are focused on enhancing things such as strength, speed, and resistance. One who has mastered this type can accomplish such feats as lifting cars, running fast enough to put even the cheetah to shame, and endure more physical damage- such as a bullet to the chest. The magic of the body, while powerful, is far more costly to the caster as you're taking energy from your very body in order to enhance it. For instance, you'll become winded faster the faster you run, you'll ache more with the more weight you lift, and you're body will taken longer to recover from the damage you've taken.
One very important thing to understand is for every good there will be an evil, especially in the realm of magic. Something as innocent as a healing spell will put toil on your body, straining your own energy. You must also take into consideration that some elements will weaken others. Magic is nothing to be used or thought of lightly.
The magic of the mind is the ability to work with your knowledge of an object to create effects. For instance, if you know how a clock works you can make the hands move through mental energy. If you know how a gun works you can prevent it from being set off in your direction, if you know how an elevator works you can have it move against the mechanism. You can reverse gravity to float or have other objects float, you can reverse time and space but very few have managed to do such powerful feats. Just as body does, mind will leave you weary and sore. Your mind becomes pained and it will begin simply as a headache, then a migraine, if you are not careful you will begin to bleed from your eyes, nose, eyes, an mouth... if you push yourself you can render your senses useless... blindness, deafness, muteness can all come from pushing the limits of your magic. Limits can be tested, the more you work your magic, the more you'll be able to do. Like an immunity to poison, a little at a time builds up an immunity.
The magic of the soul is that of which is best identified with things like summoning elements and beasts. Your soul is attributed towards an element and that is where you will find your strength. The basic elements are fire, water, earth, and wind. The pillar elements are light and dark. From these elements all others can be summoned. For example, thunder is a combination of fire and wind, magma is fire and earth, and so on. To master the hybrid elements as we'll call them you must be familiar with the base elements behind them, understand them, respect them, and know how to use them. Those of the soul are often called mages, as those of the mind are alchemists, and those of the body are magis. Mages use spiritual energy to use their abilities- which in time can accomplish healing, great flames, calling forth storms, and protective shields. However, the soul can become weary and will shut the body and mind down, sending you into a coma-like state until your spirit has recovered.
When you all come to me for your private lessons I want you to be somewhat familar with these things. What effects that your own abilities might have on your body and just what you can expect to learn from me."
