Hobbies:
Cryptids - Growing up in Iceland, Vanille was told all sorts of stories of trolls and elves. Enough so that when she learned to read, the first things she went for were even more stories of other strange creatures sharing the world with humans. As she grew older and her family eventually moved to the States, Vanille expanded her repertoire and love for all things cryptid to things like Bigfoot, Nessie and Chupacabra. She owns hundreds of books related to cryptozoology and keeps at least 10 journals detailing the experiences of others as well as her own when it comes to the strange and unusual. And while she finds the debunking of various stories or purported evidence to be distressing, she keeps plugging along. The world is so very big, you know. Vanille refuses to believe that there isn’t more out there to discover.
Cartomancy - When she was very small, Vanille’s mother had an old, much-loved tarot deck that she would use to read the future for her family. It was a source of fascination and comfort to look through the cards and learn how to use them. When Vanille’s parents divorced and she was sent to live with family in the States, Vanille’s mother gave her the old tarot deck. That was four years ago and ever since, she has accumulated even more decks and regularly provides tarot readings for her schoolmates. Using the cards to peek into the future is comforting, entertaining and occasionally illuminating. And it is something that Vanille has every intention of teaching her own daughters, whenever she ends up settling down. And her mother’s old deck? That’s been safely packed away and set aside for when Vanille has children.
Metal Guitar - A more recently acquired hobby of Vanille’s. Having some interest in music (particularly metal), she decided about two years ago that she wanted to learn how to play the guitar. An older cousin who was and is very much into the scene took it upon himself to get the very best guitar possible for her along with lessons. What Vanille expected was a nice, solid , basic guitar. What she got was a 8 stringed beast whose every reverbed djent noise gives her lady boners. She still takes lessons, but she’s gotten fairly good at playing and it’s not unusual to find her tucked into a corner somewhere practicing. Someday, she’d like to join a band and have fun playing purely instrumental metal.
Virtues:
Gentle - Vanille is soft-spoken and gentle by nature. She becomes greatly distressed if anyone or anything is hurt, regardless of sides taken. She very rarely argues and even then, she will never raise her voice or use any language that is considered hurtful. Vanille is basically the human embodiment of the voices of Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross mixed with the moral compasses of both men.
Observant - Whether searching for mysterious creatures or examining a card spread, one needs to be able to spot the tiny details set within the larger picture. Vanille is always watching and listening for any possible hidden images or subtext. It’s helped to keep her out of trouble at school since she was able to observe the schoolyard politics without being drawn into them. And it’s helped to keep her fairly safe just being out and about in the city. She’s no Sherlock Holmes, but she does all right.
Truthful - Honesty has always been important to Vanille. As against causing harm as she is, it didn’t take her long to learn that even the tiniest lie can sometimes hurt someone. As such, she’s made it a policy to always be truthful even if it brings a hammer down on her. And though not religious by any stretch of the imagination, one of her favorite verses has always been “And the Truth shall set you free”. She does her best to abide by that sentiment every moment of her life.
Flaws:
Passive - Though she has bouts of ambition and productivity, Vanille is ultimately quite passive in regards to her life. She’s often far too content being a passenger in her own life. She rarely defends herself. And though trusted teachers and family have gotten after her about her complacency, it all just sort of rolls off of her back. Someday, she’s going to turn around, realize she’s hit old age and wonder where on earth all the time and opportunities have gone.
Overly Imaginative - Though she doesn’t look or really act it, Vanille’s brain is a swirling storm of fantasy and what-ifs. Growing up believing in divination and magical beasties, Vanille’s brain took that belief and ran with it. Very often, little observed details will lead her down a mental rabbit hole of what-if or full on built from scratch fantasies that sometimes take hours, if not days to play through to the end. It’s not the worst fault in the world, but her roommate is getting tired of constantly reassuring her that there’s no burglar under the bed and that Bigfoot isn’t going to suddenly burst out of the closet.
Clingy - Vanille has always been a little clingy, however, once her parents divorced and she was sent away, that clinginess has only intensified. She is terrified of being tossed aside or losing anyone she cares about to the point where she will constantly text, call or, in the case of face-to-face interactions, literally find some way to be physically connected to someone (hand holding, arm hugging, etc.). It’s all born out of a need to not lose anyone, but sometimes, people would like to sleep or do their own thing without worrying about Vanille’s abandonment issues.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Coral-Pink fading to ███ (#fffdda). Eyes are large, perpetually innocent looking and fringed with long, thick lashes. Typically wears a pale gold or turquoise eyeliner.
Hair: Tropical Ocean/fruit ombre; thick, waist length and wavy with short, fringe bangs. Typically worn in messy space buns.
Face: Heart shaped, elfin face with a slightly upturned, pixieish nose and almost perfect cupid’s bow mouth. Average ears with three piercings in each (lobe, conch and mid helix on the left / lobe, daith and tragus on the right). Other piercings include labret and septum (face/eye shape model: Belle Delphine)
Skin Tone: one or two steps up from albino pale
Body Type: 5’9” and on the thinner side of curvy. Has a paleolithic tattoo on her left shoulder traveling down her upper arm

Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Ambrosial Breath
Effects: While holding her cupped hands to her heart and then straight out, Nymphe whispers her attack and summons a faint, golden mist, which she then gently blows outwards. When breathed in by anyone perceived as an ally, the mist will make them feel as if they’ve gotten a second wind. Afterwards, there is a lingering delicious scent (the player may choose what is smelled, but it must be food related) in the air. This magic may be summoned three times per battle and will last for around 30 seconds, affecting only one ally within a radius of five feet.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Ambrosial Drop
Effects: While holding her cupped hands to her heart and then straight out, Nymphe whispers her attack and summons a single lovely, golden teardrop floating in the air amidst a puff of mist. When anyone Nymphe perceives as an ally ingests the drop, they will feel as if they’ve gotten their second wind as well as having 5% of any damage soaked. The drop tastes of the most magnificent food imaginable and as before leaves a delicious scent hovering in the air. This magic may be summoned twice per battle, lasts 30 seconds and and can affects up either herself or one ally within a ten foot radius per instance.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Ambrosial Feast
Effects: While holding her cupped hands to her heart and then throwing her arms out in a welcoming gesture, Nymphe whispers her attack and summons 3 lovely, golden teardrops floating in the air amidst a larger puff of mist. When anyone Nymphe perceives as an ally ingests a drop, they will feel as if they’ve gotten their second wind as well as having 10% of any damage soaked (this will not heal lethal injuries, simply ease some of the damage). The drop tastes of the most magnificent food imaginable and as before leaves a delicious scent hovering in the air. This magic may be summoned once per battle, lasts 30 seconds and can affect up to three people (herself + two allies or three allies) within a twelve foot radius. If there are only one or two allies present, the extra drop(s) will fade away.
