Individual exploration seems to have yielded nothing to help the Dark Mirror Senshi inhabiting Altea’s castle; the Queen has been strangely absent since the warm welcoming she gave them on the night she arrived and the few run ins they’d had with her over the next few days. Altea never seemed like she could stay for very long, rushing from one place to the next.

Her servants were of no help to them; they were always silent, performing some monotonous routine of housekeeping and tending to the needs of the Senshi. They seemed to exist to clean the castle and provide the crystal meals. Sometimes, they seemed to disappear—except for the constant set of guards on the stairwell that prevented them from moving any higher.

Lower, though. That was still open to them.

It wasn’t clear who had first found the door, but whispers had spread throughout the Court of a narrow stairwell, hidden from sight—and of a heavy, iron door at the bottom.

There were no crystals on it and it seemed to be missing one of the large padlocks like the other locked doors had. Through time or rust, it wasn’t clear which, the metal sealing the door had weakened and fallen to the ground.

The rumor was, someone had heard a voice, and a strange energy signature—and fled.

And now, the Court was gathering in the small room at the bottom of the stairwell. They had chosen this location—private, and hidden away, to have their discussion.

The door was open to them—would they investigate? Or was this just a good opportunity to deter those that would?

Lovejoy

There was a mysterious door. There was a mysterious sound that had supposedly come from behind the mysterious door.

Lovejoy was beside herself with curiosity about both of these issues.

"Clearly this is the way out," she said to no one in particular. It hadn't mattered who had called the meeting to order or collected the people - she wanted her opinion known before any more of these wretched pink spots took over her body and destroyed her flesh to get to her soul.

Because that was clearly what they were trying to do, of course.

"Either it's the way out of this castle and back into Mirrorspace or else it's the way to our death, the ultimate out."

White hair was a hot mess, there were heavy bags under her eyes. She still had hardly slept at all and her exhaustion was showing. The only crystals she'd managed to eat had been the ones Kibirev had all but begged her to consume, so her hunger had mingled in with her anger to form one heck of a level of hangry. "Either way, we should do it. I'm not going to stick around and become one of those... those crystal things."

Eternal Sailor Remarque

Remarque had spent a decent amount of time trekking through what areas of the castle were accessible, mapping the layout and searching for inconsistencies. He’d made good use of his time here; he’d snuck and snooped and pried. And pilfered, but that wasn’t exactly anything he was going to brag about. He’d thoroughly explored the kitchen and library and more random rooms than he could recall, and he was still examining some of the things he’d found.

But this, this might have been the most interesting place any of them. He and Lesath had arrived together; though they were still keeping their relationship mostly discreet while they were in the castle, they still stayed close. When Remarque arrived he examined the door but made no effort to touch it; instead, he kept his arms crossed over his chest and traced the markings on it, around it.

This door was important enough to have locked; he wanted to know why.

He just also wanted to make sure he had as much information as he could before they stormed the room because—given this lot—he had no doubt that within the next five minutes, someone would be charging headfirst into it.

He skimmed the room for Acubens.

Super Sailor Ptolemaeus

There were very few things that bothered Ptolemy, but the possibility that he could lose sensation in his body permanently was definitely very near the top of that short list. As a very sensual person who enjoyed physical contact, he had not taken the new crystal sickness the court was being infected with well. Bright blue crystal patches glistened across his tan skin, perhaps covering somewhat more of him than the average court member.

His default grin had been replaced with a thin, serious line and his usual, carefree demeanor had transformed into something cold and impassive. When he'd heard of the door, he'd hurried to examine it, though dared not proceed without the rest of the court present. He was as eager as the rest of them now to leave this place or at least find out what was happening to them, but he was not so impatient as to be willing to leave anyone behind.

The super senshi stood before the entrance or exit to who knew what, staring as if doing that alone might have revealed to him the secrets that lay beyond the mysterious door.

Kibirev

Kibirev reached out and put a hand on Lovejoy’s shoulder, her own shoulders glistening as she moved, the light blue crystals seeming to wink. “LJ…we don’t know if that’s really what’s going on…maybe it’s just a rash…that’s all.” Her voice was trying to be soothing, but she was clearly on the edge of some hysteria. She was so worried about Lovejoy, it wasn’t funny anymore. She had gotten her to sleep for a few hours, but after that, she hadn’t been so lucky, and the few crystals her friend had eaten…well. Half of those had been forced into her mouth while she slept…

…but even Kibirev wanted that door to lead to the exit, no matter how much she still professed to like it here…

She didn’t like seeing Lovejoy going crazier like this. It was frightening. “Maybe it is the way out, though. Maybe we’ll go through the door and be home…you…you still owe me ice cream, you know…”

Glancing at Remarque and Lesath, she silently hoped that one of them would be able to either calm her best friend down...or maybe get her to leave and go back to bed...but only if this wasn't the exit.

Sailor Kiuchi

He didn't know who had found the door, or heard the voice behind it, and he wasn't sure it mattered even. The fact was they were able to get down here, it wasn't blocked off by guards and the door wasn't locked, which was attention deserving and the reason for this meeting. Sitting on the floor of the senshi of gorgon's was just listening to the voices of others, at least for the moment, a pillow from his bedroom held in his lap as he snuggled into it. He was tired, as shown by the lovely panda eyes he was sporting at this point, and the pillow was with him in case he somehow managed to fall asleep though he doubted he'd be so lucky.

Yawning he stared up from his spot on the floor. "I doubt this is a way out...maybe just a place to find information - to find out what's happening to us." Because there was no denying something was happening, considering their skin was changing into something that wasn't quite skin.

From his lower back, the tailbone area, and moving upward to the middle of his back, hidden under his uniform his skin had turned to a dark green crystal. It was also lining his eyes and covering the backs of his hands which were thankfully covered by his gloves. It wasn't as bad as some others, thankfully, but perhaps that was because he wasn't eating as much? There really was no way to know since everyone was sporting the look. He really didn't like it, especially the areas around his eyes, though that was the newest area to gain the new look. If it wasn't for this being such a foreign thing, something unknown to them, and the lack of sensation he might not be so upset with it.

"I wonder...if we aren't turning into her guards...if they were once like her but now are...well them." He whispered to no one in particular.

His dark eyes moved about the group, moving from one person to the other and landing for a moment on Ptolemaeus whose bright blue crystals stood out against his tan skin. As far as Kiuchi figured he was due to wind up with more patches showing up, when he compared himself to some of the others in the room, as he was rather lacking it seemed.

"Not to be negative, I don't want to upset people, but I don't think an exit will be so easy for us to come by..." While he said he wasn't trying to be negative...he was being negative. It could be, and likely was, due to the lack of sleep and proper food plus his worry for Caleb and how he'd have to explain things to him - it looked impossible at this point to him.

Acubens heard about the door the way most of them did. Through word of mouth. Whispers traveled on the winds and rumors hand a tendency to grow.
And so by the time she heard about this door, it was almost mythological in proportions. The first lead that they had been given. The first inkling of progress in their quest to get home. She arrived on scene shortly with Chione, sliding into place beside Remarque with her trusty journal tucked protectively under her arm. There wasn't much to record, but she could at least sketch the door now that she was here. She had to admit... now that she was seeing it, it seemed a bit... lacking. Still, it was a step in... maybe not the right direction, but after almost a week of literally no momentum, any direction was a welcome change. If it was the right one, awesome. If it wasn't, they could fix it.

"I agree with Kiuchi," she finally sighed, closing her book and tucking it away.
"Why would a way out be unguarded? Even if Queenie isn't holding us hostage, this plague that took everyone is still out there... exits would be guarded for the protection of others." She didn't address the other part of his concerns however, the same idea having crossed her mind. She scratched absently at the deep purple crystaline skin creeping up her neck from her left shoulder and pectoral. She tapped the fuchsia crystaline knuckles of her right hand against the wall nervously. Everything was registering with her senses. Even slight twinges in her own boy alarmed her. Were more crystals growing? Would they go away? Was this to be her fate forever?

Acubens physically shook off the concerns and plastered a smiled on to her face hoping that the fake smile would morph into a real one soon enough. But anyone who knew her could see through the rouse.

"So bossman... what's the next step. You know what my proclivities tend towards so if you need someone to run head first into whatever's in there... I'm your gal." She smiled, trying to keep her tone as light as possible despite the nervous tick still tapping out a steady rhythm on the wall behind her.

Hydrus, Senshi of the Leviathan

He missed tea.

Hydrus stood towards the back of the group, arms folded into his sleeves. The void burns on his forearms shimmered, turning the dark purple marks into teal and amethyst crystal. While he could still move his arms and wrists, and the crystal sickness had not touched his hands, he had no feeling on the skin of his forearms. Most apparent of this was the large crack that coursed down his left forearm where he'd slammed it against the corner of a wall, or a piece of furniture, or... something.

He could still feel his elbows, at least.

"This... could be a trap. I wish to get home as much as the next person, but I'm hesitant to open an unguarded door..." he said quietly, glancing at Remarque after a moment.

How he could use a cup of tea...

"All of this -could- be a trap" Diadem pointed out as she joined the others. Her own dark skin was dusted in places with a pink that, under entirely different circumstances, might have been flattering, but she was no more thrilled with it than the others. Her shoes hid part of it, but the dusting of flecks on her cheekbone and the transformed pinkie on one hand were... harder to conceal.

"We can't go upstairs, there's nothing to eat that tastes like anything... we know nothing about the plague and people are starting to resemble the staff, and when we did ask questions... especially questions about whether or not anyone else resembled -the queen-... we never got answers. It seems like a good time to start finding some. So even if it's not an exit..."

She glanced to Remarque for confirmation, though her expression suggested she was already pretty sure she was right.

"I mean I'm not saying don't prepare for the worst. But I assume no one's found anything telling anywhere else, and at this point, even if this isn't the mystery plague, it's close enough to one for the rest of us for my taste."

They had been trapped in this castle far too long for Crocus' comfort. While he didn't have work to worry about, he did have an active enough social life that he was sure people had picked up on him being awol at this point. It was fairly unnatural for him to go this long without talking to his family or friends. How was he going to explain himself when he got back? He had no idea, but he knew the longer they were stuck here, the harder it was going to be for him when he got back.

He sighed as they all discussed their options and scanned the crowd that had already gathered. He spotted Kiuchi in his usual spot on the floor and decided to join his not-so-fantastic looking friend. It looked like he hadn't been sleeping very well, he'd be amazed if anyone could over the last few days. Once the 'plague' started to affect them all, it was hard to sleep at night knowing you might wake up the next morning even sicker. He wrapped an arm around his friend and gave him a friendly hug. He hadn't seen him much over the last couple of days, and he definitely felt bad for that. He had focused more on searching the castle then tending to his friends since he realized it was possible they were all trapped here. Even more so when he woke up with no feeling in his right fingers.

"I'd ask you how you're holding up, but well..." He shrugged a little bit, it seemed pointless now. They were all in pretty bad shape. Most of them were on the point of starving and definitely sleep deprived. He wondered how well they could all function if they even went through the door and did find trouble waiting for them. "If you wanted to attempt catching some z' my lap is open to you." Kiuchi might not be able to sleep with everything going on, but he had to assume he brought the pillow for a reason.

Sailor Kissling

Kissling was in fairly bright, hopeful spirits. He had struggled to keep his happy-go-lucky attitude even through being disheartened about the crystal sickness, but with the news of the recently-discovered door, his former demeanor became much easier to recover. The sight of his gathering court - it was still a novelty to think he was part of a court - only increased his joy and he practically skipped into the small knot of people clustered before their potential way out.

A taller young man with long black hair and long sleeves caught Kissling's attention. Though he seemed to be relatively new like himself, the guy appeared to be very calm with their situation...despite the fact that one of his crystallized arms had a huge crack through it. The blonde immediately became alarmed. He hadn't realized their crystal parts could be broken.

"Uhh...are you okay?" he asked the stranger, putting his own hands on the other's arm without thinking to ask. Since his skin was also crystallizing with patches of pink and he had gloves on, he couldn't feel a whole lot, but he wanted to feel what he could. Did it feel like a crack in a rock? "Does it hurt? What happened to you?"

xa-disgruntled-dragon
Why, hello there~

((Sorry - since his arms are folded into his sleeves, I'm not sure if his forearms are visible or not, but I'm just going to assume they are for now. If not, just let me know and I'll change it!))

Avior had followed behind Crocus as they approached the door that they had heard about on whispers in the hall. For all of his panic and fear that reverberated in his head, he stood surprisingly tall. He wasn't exactly feeling sick, but the crystals were certainly encroaching on the young man's face.

He knew that there was risk on eating the crystals, but he had not stopped. With so many of them looking weak and sickly from refusing to eat anything at all, he just couldn't allow himself to become like them. The crystals that had form on the back of his hands and across his cheeks grew more and more by the day, creeping across his nose to splatter small freckle-like dusty rose crystals everywhere. And the crystals on his hands crept up to between his knuckles and up to his fingertips like vines...

Yet he didn't stop. He couldn't let himself be famished, not when others were already suffering. So he sacrificed his skin his touch, in order to be the wall that he wanted to be... Even if it were to cost him his life.

Not that he would say that outloud.

He gave Crocus and Kiuchi a quick ruffle on their heads before heading towards a wall to lean against, hoping that where he stood was close enough to throw up his own wall in case of an attack... No need to be less than cautious after all. And not too far from his side was a senshi he had yet to talk to..

"Hey, how are you holding up?" He asked the man who seemed to be about his age. Ptolemaeus' crystals were incredibly blue in contrast with his own, and they had spread pretty far as well... Just like his own.

"Had you been continuing eating the food?" Avior murmured quietly, just enough for him to hear. "You can't protect people if you're passing out... I figure it was better than starving, even if there's a bit of damage left..."

Sailor Sadalsuud

Sadalsuud hadn't been the one to find the door or stairwell–

Instead she had found herself becoming increasingly preoccupied with the strange crystallisation of parts of her body.

It had started with the ends of 3 fingers on her left hand - but it hadn't ended there, patches breaking out on her wrists and her legs...

And whilst she ws doing her best to stay optimistic, it was becoming increasingly hard to keep a cheerful smile on her face as the days went by and more and more patches of crystal continued to break out on her skin.

Having heard about the fact that a meeting was to be called, Sadalsuud had gathered with the others, green eyes noticing both
Remarque - "Rem" her mind autocorrected and Kiuchi amongst those gathered, giving both a small wave, her face solemn. She stood by herself, not volunteering anything towards the conversation - at least not as yet - instead content to half listen as her thoughts continued to drift.

Sailor Kiuchi

"We don't know if the plague is still out there. We just know there was one...how long ago we don't know. We know nothing about it...just that it was. What it did, how it behaved, how long to infect people - how it infected people. We don't know anything." Soft spoken as ever but he was thinking, despite how tired he really was. He had gone to two top notch high schools and it did, on occasion, show. He might be a lay about, who liked sleeping entirely too much, but when he wanted to he could be useful with knowledge which most of the time would be useless and unneeded.

"Mmm, I agree." Pointing to the female whom he didn't know, Diadem, and nodded his head a bit before hiding a yawn with his pillow. "Even if it isn't the plague which hit her people...this is something for us. A reaction, an illness for us which isn't for them - something not good. It might not be tied into the food even...the water sparkles here - did anyone else notice that?" He questioned, his chin resting on top of the pillow he held tightly in his lap. Dark eyes darting about, watching everyone now, seeing who might ponder the same thing.

"We don't know what is causing this....we assume the food...or the illness which she mentioned." But it was possible it was the water, or something in the air which wasn't an illness for the people here. Some combination even...there was no telling.

"I'd like to find out...at some point." But he doubted they would. This could, which he wasn't going to say as he didn't want to jump to conclusions and point fingers, be some plot against them to keep them here...to make them like the servants here. He didn't want to think so badly of the Queen here though...

Taken from his thoughts, from anything else he might say, a soft smile, filled with tiredness, was directed to Crocus as the other sat at his side and hugged him. The other looked well enough, or at least as well as everyone else gathered here - which didn't say that much really. Yawning he bobbed his head a bit. "Hard to sleep here....especially once the markings started to turn up." shifting, just a bit, to lift up the back of his shirt and show off where he was marked, aside from the visible marks lining his eyes like permanent eyeliner. A patch started at the tailbone area, fanning out just a bit, and traveled right up most of his spin. It if weren't for what came with the marking, the lack of feeling and whatever unknown things, it wouldn't look bad on him really. It might even look attractive as a whole. But it wasn't good - it really wasn't.

Lowing his shirt he leaned into the others side and gave a tired little yawn. "Too hard to sleep here...how to explain being gone...but how long have we even been gone?" He spoke softly, just so Crocus and Avior could hear him. A bit more of a smile coming to his features as his hair was ruffled, and he set about trying to fix it once Avior had moved to the wall.

"I don't like this Crocus...." He whispered once more, just for the blond to hear.

Sailor Logos

It seemed her suspicions were correct, in the end.

Rather than starve, Logos finally relented to eating the crystalline foodstuffs presented to them some time ago from Queen Altea. It took several days (or what she believed to be days, seeing as tracking time through this place was difficult at best) for symptoms to develop, but her arm was definitely changing - and not for the better.

To say Logos was pissed would be a gross understatement.

She kept a lid on it though, as much as she could, and appeared at the meeting behind Lesath's right shoulder. The door was of little consequence to her. Moreover, she wanted answers, and she wanted them post haste.

"Ma'am, have you started developing these... issues?" came a quiet voice, Logos keeping her eyes peeled for this so-called Queen who conveniently seemed to disappear more frequently, now that things were beginning to happen to the Court's bodies.
