How right the Eagles were. Vespertine's path to comfort in life was always to land herself a rich old man (or woman) who'll doll her up and pay her way. She's seen her fair share of sugar daddies come and go, usually when she replaces the current one with a richer, better one (a girl like her's got to have high standards). But she keeps telling herself she's getting closer to the One. As long as she doesn't waste her best years broke and worried about her future, she'll consider herself a success. But as often as she tells herself and her friends that she's not a whore, sometimes even a sugar baby has to wonder where the line is drawn.
A MAN WITH HANDS AS COLD AS ICE
Vespertine's in her senior year at Rider-Waite and she's looking to land her MRS degree before the end of the school year. Otherwise... she'll have to get a job. Her current beau is a married man, and she's okay with that but she also realizes he can't possibly be the one. So she's on the hunt for someone more suitable, maybe older, probably richer, definitely less married. Once in a while, she remembers that she'll probably end up with a guy who can't get it up without help from a little blue pill. That still haunts her, but she's not sure she wants to trade the security in for something more age-appropriate.
She's not exactly shy about her relationships. Not that she'll flaunt them, but Vespertine's never held back when talking about her troubles with her friends. Lately though, her trust has come back to bite her. Someone's been mouthing off around campus, maybe around town even, and what was once a relatively contained story has been spreading like spilled water. Vespertine's reputation precedes her, and she's been getting mixed reactions now that more and more people know what she's up to. A lot more judgement has been thrown her way, but many more flirty old (and some not-so-old) codgers have been badgering her as well. A lot of people don't seem to understand that Vespertine is not a whore. She'll explain, sometimes, when she's in the right mood, but really she's doing her best to get through the week without getting propositioned by four different people. In the long run, she's not sure if this all will hurt or help her. But for now, she's just trying to mop up the mess.
ANOTHER NIGHT, IT'S GONNA BE A LONG ONE
Senior year has come and gone for Ves, and she isn't married like she'd wanted to be by the time she graduated. Instead, she's stuck in a "relationship" with a married banker who, despite being the one who's cheating on his wife, remains paranoid about Ves finding ways to fill her time outside of hanging out with him. Without a real job or any hobbies, she spends her days wiling away the hours, which was fun for about a week. Now she's bored out of her mind and desperately trying to find a way out of this rut she's fallen into.
ANYTHING ELSE
Recent graduate from Rider-Waite, majoring in art history, with a minor in interior design. She's an arranger, you know. She'll lie without batting an eye (yes, you're the best she's ever had... or mm, you are so handsome). Has never worked a day in her life despite some very humble beginnings, and won't if she has things her way.
She grew up in a trailer park, but she's not about to let you in on that secret. If you ask, she'll say she's from Boston, and if you ask whether Vespertine is her real name, she just won't answer. Her mom and her don't talk, and she doesn't have a dad. She'll smoke sometimes – that's her big f you to the world, but she won't do it often. Reminds her too much of home, which incidentally is not a good word in her mind.

She's got dark hair, a mane of it down to her lower back, that she'll either let go wild (it's sexy that way) or put up into a fancy braid like oneofthese. Pale skin, high cheekbones, full lips. Her makeup is meant to emphasize all three of those things. Usually a pretty bold lipstick, contours for sure. You're supposed to look at her and think she's sexy or glamorous, like an Angelina Jolie or a Megan Fox. Doesn't smile a lot, but then again she doesn't have that much reason to.
Doesn't mind a dress or a skirt, but she's basically a model so she's going to wear things that show off her long legs and curves. Goes for something like New York chic. Probably cleavage too. You tell me. She needs to look good for her sugar daddy. Or sugar mama, she'd go for that too.

She's entirely inspired by the GO playlist raffle, because I posted Lyin' Eyes and then I also looked at the girl in that raffle and was like OH YEA I CAN SEE IT and so, knowing that my luck in said raffle may not be so lucky, I would love ;jaskldfa you get the point

Got a house, a room, a yard, a dashboard even, to decorate? Vespertine's got you. It's part of her charm as a sugar baby, adding a woman's touch to a lonely old guy's bachelor pad. She has a good eye for these things (minor in interior design, after all) and when she's adding the finishing touches, she can always find exactly the piece she needs to add that little extra something to the room.

The Otherworld was rainy and depressing as ******** teenaged girl named Heliodora was there, watching over something. And missing a foot.
It was possible to be dragged back over there involuntarily – and the dreams also occurred not by choice, but by some sort of chance.
There were ways to see figure out where the passageways to Other Ashdown were, on the off chance that anyone would ever want to go there of their own accord.
People who could see Other Ashdown were called Visitors, and of late, they had seen a dramatic population increase, which meant that something was awake and changing things.
But the cycle must have started before. Something precipitated their meeting with Heliodora.
Sunny said that the Otherworld was the Enemy's place – and Sunny was probably a friend.
