Ves decided to text Zac. They'd lived in the same house, briefly, so she considered him a friend even if they hadn't spent extensive time hanging out with each other. And now that he'd moved elsewhere, she'd started to think that maybe she should've tried to share in some of his knowledge before he'd left. He'd been there at the start, after all, when all of this weirdness had begun - or, really, became blatantly obvious to many of them. He'd been there in the forest, and Ves vaguely remembered finding out that he'd been back. He had to know more. And ever since her talk with Alexis, she'd been thinking more about the place. Wondering if it'd be worth her time to go back, find out more, what have you. Maybe it'd be fun - although part of her highly doubted that. endejester To: Zac Hey stranger. Got some time to hang out? I have some questions for you. Want to learn more about OAD.

He had to admit surprise at the text from his short time housemate. He couldn’t say he was displeased, but they weren’t very close. ”MoonRazor” To: Ves Hi! – Yeah I can swing that, not sure I am the best help, but will try! He really wasn’t sure how much help he could be, maybe it was an excessive level of self-doubt but He’d try, and that at least had to be worth something, right? If he told himself that often enough maybe he’d believe it too. Quote: To: Ves I can be there in about an hour, just clearing out from work. That ok?

It was promising, at least, that Zac seemed willing to help. Ves was trying her best to be like a sponge, absorbing everything she could from everyone who would impart their knowledge to her. It wasn't enough yet for her to have any idea what was really going on, but she figured eventually, there would come a time when she had enough bits and pieces to have at least some idea of what the bigger picture looked like. endejester To: Zac Come on by! You probably know infinitely more than me at this point.

True to his word after he finished trading off shifts at work, changing of the guard as he liked to call it, he prepared to head by the familiar house. He had with him his notebook and, thanks to a quick stop at a local bakery a box of cinnamon rolls, laden with cream cheese icing. He figured it was proper to at least bring a gift along with the disclaimer about what he ‘knew’ and what he expected. Silly things like that. He knocked on the door, which felt a little odd since he’d lived there, but he could say that of at least two houses now.

Ves was ready by the time Zac arrived, and she was at the door in no time. She pulled it open with a bright grin that was reserved only for friends - one that was very different from the smile she used on men like her Donald - and gestured for him to come inside. "Good to see you!" she said, closing the door behind him. "How's the new place looking? Do you miss Nasir's food yet?" It seemed impossible for the answer to be no. And the house was certainly quieter without a fourth roommate. "Oh, you brought snacks," she added, more excitedly than she usually seemed. "Good call. I almost made lemon bars, but we didn't have lemons."

“It’s good to see you too.” He smiled, and he meant it, he did know good people, they deserved good things more than they deserved bad things he thought. “Well, yeah, I do miss his cooking, that’s kind of a given like enjoying ‘Darline’s’ he grinned sheepishly as he followed her inside. “Well, you’ve seen Other Ashdown, I’m sure life will provide MORE than enough lemons.” He chuckled softly. “Though I’m not so sure about the sugar.” “I did bring cinnamon rolls, and um, personal experiences and speculation. I really hope that will be good enough?” he offered.

"I'm not sure if I whether or not I was hoping you'd say that," Ves said with a shake of her head and a smile, leading the way into the living room that always smelled faintly of weed. "I'm still not sure what I got myself mixed up in. Not to mention, I don't think I'm very brave or up to... you know. Dealing with craziness." All she'd wanted, after all, was a simple life in which she didn't have to worry about anything. This Other Ashdown business sounded very much like the opposite of that. And it didn't help that she'd started looking into this business right around the same time she'd taken Deacon up on his offer to start helping with clients and furniture design. Which also coincided with the time she and Donald had started having fights about what it meant to spend too much time with other people - chiefly, men. But for now, at least, she'd enjoy spending some time with an old roommate. Ves gestured toward the couch, then set herself down lightly on one side. "So how far out of the loop am I?" she began. "All I know... is that Heliodora has been stuck over there for roughly forever. And I've dreamed of the place a few times."
