Natural Ability: Mental Block – Ivar puts up a fair resistance against mind reading / intrusions into his thoughts, an ability that helps him in conducting his auction house business.
Personality: While it may not reflect his actual opinion of a person, Ivar generally extends his courtesy and good manners to everyone he deals with, as he has a reputation to upkeep. Still, there are those who require him to exercise this actively, and having to do so will whittle down his patience considerably.
As much as he evaluates the works and goods that go through his auction house, Ivar tends to form quick opinions about the people he meets as well. This is mostly innocuous and inconsequential for interactions conducted outside of his work, while much more severe when it comes to his buyer and seller patrons. He holds a particular disdain for those he deems to be ignorant about the true value of art, and buyers/bidders who make purchases for the purposes of ego-boosting without any true appreciation for the piece of work itself. This usually does not affect his role as a fair auctioneer, though in his heart he would very much like for his own favourites to win.
Ivar enjoys having a pleasant company over tea, during which he may break out of his more reserved demeanor and rattle off and pontificate at great lengths about art history, wine, and other things that would bore the uninterested listener.
Job/Business: Ivar runs an auction house that primarily specializes in wines and fine art. He also runs a small gallery within the premises that exhibits the works of the sellers he represents.
Ivar's auction house is open to working with all sellers looking for a platform to auction their stuff, given that it passes his standards of quality. (OOC: RP and Collaborations yay!) Counterfeits and illegal goods will be rejected and/or reported.
Personal History: Ivar grew up in a modestly well-to-do family, though he has had to endure being snubbed by his much wealthier peers growing up and even in the present. He inherited the auction house business from his family, though it has not been doing well recently due to the lack of financial backing and his stubborn adherence to his notoriously high standards. There have been recent talks and discussions of a partnership and joint venture with the Zaira family which will become more concrete once Edel graduates from Amityville.
