After having stashed her own Powderstone in a safe spot, Kari made her way back up to the volcano's cave. It didn't sit right with her that she had potentially stolen from another when she'd sat down and thought about her actions. They might have had the same train of thought as she had, and simply hadn't found their method of transport before she'd arrived.
Well, there was one way to fix that. With her mind set and her scarf wrapped tightly over her nose and mouth, Kari made her way into the cave with the slab of bark in tow.
RP Mechanics
Powderstones are notorious for being extremely heavy and unwieldy to carry. A villager has requested this, can you really deny their offer?
- Your character must head into the darkest, deepest volcano interior. Magma oozes at every precipice of this dangerous area. In the smallest, floating island of non-magma touched sediment is a beautiful powderstone. It is about 6 feet tall and extremely hot. It is very difficult to carry it, let alone breathe in here.
- Your character must carry the powderstone out of the lava. Roll 1d4 three times. That is the distance (feet) you carry the powderstone.
- You must reach a distance of 30 feet to get the powderstone out. If you fail, the powderstone drops at the distance you left it at (on your third dice roll). Only other characters can help you now, by coming into the thread, and picking up the rolls. The SAME characters cannot repeat the same thread. You are free even if you carried a stone in a seperate thread, to help out in a new thread!
- Example: Steve starts, and carries the stone. He rolls 3d4 and gets 6. He carried the stone 6 feet. He now cannot post in the thread anymore and exits before he passes out. Jim can now come in to this RP (as long as they are either invited (QUEST PRP) or just hop in (QUEST ORP). Jim rolls 3d4 and gets 3. The rock is now at 9/30 feet carried. Once again, this quest is not successful until the rock has been FULLY carried 30/30 feet. If it is successful, everyone in the thread gets the +2 raffle tickets.

Many winding turns and some dodging of popped lava bubbles later, Kari stood in the center of the cave where another Powderstone rested. Taking off her scarf and tying it through the holes in the bark sled once more, the ghoul slid the stone onto the sled. It felt just as heavy, but she'd come fully expecting such a thing.
Giving the sled a tug, Kari found this time to be particularly difficult since she was trying to drag the stone uphill now. She only managed two feet before she needed to catch her breath. She didn't rest for long due to the burning sensation in her lungs that came from each breath. lifting the tails of her scarf, she once more managed two feet before a coughing fit got the better of her.
Clearing her throat rather than breathing more toxic fumes through coughing, Kari continued dragging the stone. She noticed absently that it was a bit easier this time since she'd gotten over the incline onto a flat plane. Before she could rejoice over the small victory, a crack sounded off behind her. Turning around, her fear was confirmed when she saw that the bark sled had finally given way and broke off two thirds of the way down the board, leaving the last one third dangling from her scarf.
Before she could think to make new holes and try again, a wave of dizziness hit her, signaling that she was near her limit. This was the best she could manage on her own, it was up to another to finish the job now. Wrapping the scarf around her nose and mouth once more, she dashed to the exit of the cave and made her way back to the village.
Puella had wandered off by herself this time while TK took a rest. Or avoided her. Or something. Well, she sure hoped he didn't find her too annoying!
She crept in with a group of other...erm, she'd call herself a stranded tourist, so with a group of stranded tourists, and listened wide-eyed as some villagers talked about a rock inside a volcano. Talk about some daring trick, right? She hurried in eagerly...and to her luck she saw a stone already part of the way out of the cave. Well, it wouldn't hurt to try, right? She rolled up what little there was of her sleeves and pulled her skirts in tight to prevent too much singing. It was time to carry a rock.
...a heavy rock, Puella soon discovered. She eyed the pathway back to the exit mistrustfully. Would she have it in her to make it that far? It already felt pretty difficult - and as Puella inched along she realized that the volcano was, well, burning. And some strange smell was making her light-headed...
She coughed, stumbling forward. She'd only managed to move the rock two feet! But she could keep going...right?

Right, thought Puella with some determination. She wasn't known for wallowing in self-pity and giving up. That was why she'd come to Amityville, after all. Sure, her arms were puny and weak, and she had short little legs, but her chutzpah and her clever agility made up for those weaknesses. Not that either of those would really help her here. Well, maybe her eyesight could make up for it too?
Puella glanced around with all eight of her large, skittery eyes. She saw...no one coming. Ughh, she thought again. Why weren't all the tasks the villagers asked them to complete as easy as the turkey one? Her muscles were tiring a lot sooner than she expected, and she blinked as she realized the smoke was obscuring her eyesight more and more. No, no, no! She rubbed at her eyes to ensure the smoke cleared out of them, but it wasn't a ton of use.
Ugh. She could keep pushing...a little...or she was pretty sure she could, anyway. She thought about showing this huge thing off to TK once she was out. Now that was motivation, right? Ha ha, she'd say to the boil. I carried this thing out of a volcano with my tiny little baby arms! She was totally not useless.
Then she'd have a ton to tell her sisters.

Puella sucked in a nauseous breath before moving forward again. She was on her last reserves. Why had she decided to do this without TK again? "Oof," she mumbled, but as she did she saw someone very blue wander in.
"Over here!" she shouted, coughing. Ugh. If she doubled her efforts she could meet the guy in the middle, right? Okay, why not just...run? She did so, for a few steps, anyway, and made it about three feet before she really had to give up. She shook her head, smiling weakly at the other guy. "I don't know if I can do this," she confessed. "Good luck! If you manage to get that thing out of here, you deserve it!"
Then she bolted. She wanted out of this stupidly hot place!

The Tibetan Snow Lion had heard the all too familiar sounds of a strain coming from the chasm as he passed it, and his tail flicked behind him in interest. Sounds like they could use some assistance! Darting in, he bounded right up to the powderstone. "Anyone mind if I...?" He didn't wait for an answer.
"Didn't think so and don't mind if I do!"
Amused at his own joke, he braced both hands on it and shoved it towards the opening.
Straining, the heat causing him to sweat profusely and his head to spin, he grunted as wave after wave of dizziness swept over him. Ok...yeah, nevermind, he wasn't going to be the one to get this obnoxiously pretty pebble out the door this time either.
"Jack...so close..." He grumbled as he half-stumbled his way out into the light...and the oxygen.

Somewhere along the way, Puella had disappeared, but that didn’t bother TK as much as it could have. He wasn’t one to get very attached to people, so if the ghoul had decided that it was no longer worth it to tag along with the skeleton boil, then so be it. He took a few moments to sit on the ground, close his eyes and rest for a bit before a villager was screeching and shooing him away. His eyes were slits when he opened them, and he stood up slowly as the cloaked figure continued to yell at him. Slowly, the boil turned his head toward the villager and shot them a look and they instantly quieted down, but after a while they hissed something and pushed TK away.
“What is it?” He tried to answer the villager, but they only continued to push him somewhere. And in a clearer voice, they finally began to explain what exactly they wanted from the boil.
“A volcano?” He deadpanned again. Undead and heat did not mix well together, but if this was going to get him into the villager’s good graces, he supposed it was wiser to not deny them.
Sighing deeply, Tk tried not to let the heat get to him as he walked further and further into the volcano. Low and behold, once he was deep enough inside he noticed Puella. “Oh.” It seemed she and a couple other of students were already undertaking this quest, but they also looked a bit under the weather. Yes, TK could certainly understand that.
“Well then.” He leaned over to take the stone from one of the students and turned around and walked forward. The faster he could walk out of this, the better.

The stone was beginning to heat up in his hands, and considering he was a skeleton, TK surmised that it felt even hotter to him than it would for most other people. He took a deep breath as he continued to walk. To be honestly, he was walking farther than he thought he would considering who he was, considering his current state.
He tried to roll his fingers while still holding onto the stone. Things really were beginning to heat up here, were they not? TK could feel beads of sweat roll down his temples, which was always an odd sensation considering he couldn’t do any of those things when he was in his natural form. It was only when the pin locked him into a more human form that he seemed to be more conscious of these sensations, as if he suddenly had them.
When would it end, TK wondered. Was he almost finished? He looked around. Nope. He was still surrounded by dark walls of volcanic rock. He was still stuck in this Jacking oven called a volcano, and he couldn’t help but wonder what exactly was the benefit of carting out this giant stone? He would have to take a trip to the library and do some research. Granted, the bus was fixed anytime soon. One corner of his lips curled into a dry smile, but still he continued to walk through the tunnels. Eventually, this would be over.
Just, he really wished it could be over now. An undead really could not stand the heat, and the sooner he got out the better. Up a head he could see a light, signaling that his walk was almost over. TK breathed a sigh of relief and decided to quicken his pace. As soon as he stepped outside he decided it was alright to gracelessly plop the rock onto the ground and take a break before he decided to cart it back to the village for real.

She was waiting outside, panting, when TK - TK? - finally emerged. "TK?" she exclaimed, eyes wide. "TK!" She stood up. "W-woah - you got the big rock thing!"
And she'd totally helped. "That thing is so heavy," she said, shaking her head. "Did you take muscle development classes?" Or maybe the lion boil had just been super helpful.
Or...or maybe it was a stamina development thing. Fire tolerance? Maybe his clothing was flame retardant.
