Ah! Welcome! We're so glad you could make it. Please, sit down and enjoy some good conversation and even better food - the Lab's got it all taken care of for you.

Given the festivities are taking place outside, so is the meal. Three long, wooden tables are set up under the canopy of the surrounding trees in close proximity to each other. Surrounded by many cushion-covered chairs, each is laden with plates, cups, silverware, tablecloths - the works - but also carry beautifully festive arrays of flowers in vases, (presently) unlit candles, and little trinkets party-goers are more than welcome to take home with them. If you'll care to look up at any point, the trees are laden with strings of lights and antique lanterns in matching colors to the arrangements on the table. Once the sun sets and green light stops being filtered through the trees, these will light the scene. Worried about insects being attracted and perhaps feasting on your meal or food? Don't worry! Those vanilla scented candles double as insect repellant!

As with last year's Halloween party, the food is a buffet-style set up. The Lab staff has paid for catering but also provided an assortment of their own home-made foods for others to try as well. Although you will be provided for, if you wish to bring a treat for others to share in, feel free! There's plenty of room on the tables to the far left of the dining area for your dish to have a chance of being tried. So! Other than a partial potluck, what will you be dining on this evening? Please, step right up to the table.

✿Appetizer Delights!✿

From crunchy salads to light soups to the staple of freshly made potato salad, appetizers have been provided. In keeping with the garden party theme, just about everything on the table has been made with the freshest ingredients and a lot of the things provided have fruits and vegetables included.

✿Summertime Entrees!✿

What is summer without barbeque? Why it's not summer at all! Never fear though as grilled meats, vegetables, and even fruit dishes are here to serve as your main course. From chicken, to steak, to pork, to fish (might we suggest the grilled salmon with lemon-sage sauce?) there's plenty to go around and satisfy even the most discerning pallet.

✿Delicate Desserts!✿

You've had your appetizer and your entree, and now it's time to cool off with some sweet. Head on down to the dessert table to find all you can hope for! Although the theme is most assuredly 'fresh and natural', you will find cakes, pies, and ice cream amidst the fruit salad, raw fruit platters, and fresh-off-the-grill desserts. Please help yourselves!

✿Refreshing Beverages!✿

Last but not least, drinks have been provided. Home-brewed teas, lemonade, water, all-natural juices, and even beer from a local microbrewery are offered at this table. You'll find the teas and lemonade in dispensers along the edge, and jugs of the rest in the center. The beer, if you're so inclined, is on ice in an old metal wash basin next to the table. If anything runs out, never fear! It will be filled or replaced shortly.

Just adjacent to the garden party area, there lays a queer looking hedge maze. The walls are neatly trimmed and quite tall, standing maybe at eight to nine feet, and an air of mystery surrounded the high arched entrances. Yes, there was not one, but five entrances into the hedge maze! Take your pick, and brave the challenges within.

The hedge maze was an already existing construct of the beautiful garden, but after being enchanted by Kyou thoroughly for the occasion, it will be quite a different maze for the day. Upon entering, a thick cloud of mist will be lingering just slightly above the top of the hedges, obstructing anyone's view in case they try to cheat from above. Participants will encounter various creatures, both normal and mythical, and may even be presented with challenges as they explored the maze. It was specially designed to challenge the Raevans, and also to have fun.

[Anachrophobia]

Imagine it like the hedge maze from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, with obstacles in it that you will need to clear in order to progress. (Yes this was inspired by the Harry Potter series) Some dangerous, some tricky, some interesting.

[1] You can enter the maze by yourself, or with one other person* only. For non-owners, you cannot enter the maze alone, but you may pair with an owner or non-owner.
[2] Each group, either solo or coupled, will get their own threads to RP in. Your RP opponent will be the shop mule Anachrophobia who will be replying in form of RP prompts to give you challenges and reply to your reactions.
[3] The shop mule will start the thread, but the participants will be the one starting the RP.
[4] Generate a number between 1 to 30 in your first post, this will determine what you will encounter in the hedge maze. Whether a dead end, a junction or a challenge. It is best advised to assign one person to do this. The list of numbers and their corresponding encounter is listed below.
[5] In order to reach the end of the maze and complete it, you will have to fulfill any one of the criterias below.


1. Complete 3 challenges.
2. Complete 9 random encounters.
3. Complete 2 challenges and 3 random encounters
4. Complete 1 challenge and 6 random encounters
5. Hit 20 dead ends.


[6] As this is a time sensitive RP event, (sort of) please do not be pressured to write long elaborate RP posts. You need to progress through the maze and not linger. That also means, please do not expect long replies from the mule either.
[7] In the same sense, please do not take too long to reply as well! Keep the ball rolling!
[8] Even when a winner had been found when someone completed the maze, you will have to complete your's as well by fulfilling one of the criterias above, in order to get out of the maze and return to the garden party. However by this time, RPs will be time sensitive. RPs that had been idle for 1 week will be locked and considered inactive, and you will be unable to complete it. RP admins are human too and need to juggle multiple maze RPs AND other personal RPs. They can't be babysitting you through a RP that may last for months.

*Person refers to a roleplayer. Not a character. Which means one person can be roleplaying up to two characters at one time. (in the case of a Raevan + guardian combo) Meaning the maximum of characters in one group for the maze is 4 characters.

Congratulations on reaching the end of the maze! We hope you're not too roughed up from your encounters with the creatures, spells, and puzzles laden throughout its leafy walls.

Not just any gift baskets at that, oh no. Inside each one is a heavy envelope filled with grocery vouchers, certificates to the Durem mall, a trip voucher to a day spa, tickets to the amusement park located on Gambino's finest beach, exactly fifty dollars in cash, and even a folded up giant novelty check worth all of Dr. Kyou's admiration for your endeavors. But that's not all! There's also a lovely edible arrangement for the winners, a small plushie of one of the Lab's very own Chimeras, a small box of chocolates, and of course the basket itself! It's wicker, you know.~

((Vivi and Cesc, arriving))

"Ooh, it is gorgeous, no?" Vivi exclaimed as the garden came into her view, her fingers lacing together in an expression of joy. The hanging lights and well-set tables, the multitude of cushioned chairs, the scent of grilled meats in the air -- it all came together to make a smile blossom on the Frenchwoman's pretty face. In the spirit of summertime, Vivi eschewed her usual red for a soft sage sundress, a haltered, structured number that tiered to just above her knee. Nude kitten-heeled sandals and a thin headband completed the look, and her hair hung in a loose, windswept braid draped over one shoulder. Beside her, Cesc wore the outfit he'd come home in -- for one of the first times since that day, as it were -- his pink cravat hanging neatly over his golden vest. His ears flicked gently as he slowly took the scene in, a faint smile hovering on his lips. The party atmosphere was quaint, lovely, intimate.

"It is," he agreed softly, his low voice calm and pleased. "I am sorry Shepard had to work..."

"Oh, do not think of the Shepard," Vivi laughed with a shake of her head, linking her arm in his. "He is much relieved that he did not have to make nice with strangers all day long! We will have all the fun in his place, yes?"

Cesc answered with an amused smile and a shake of his head. "Yes."

In truth, the dawn frei was excited about the day -- an opportunity to meet new people, new Raevans, was always something he looked forward to. The beauty of the setting only added to the feeling; the outdoors put him at ease, and the shared history all the invitees had with the Lab made him feel even more comfortable. And -- perhaps -- he would even see again that Raevan from the First Day, the one he'd found, or who had found him, out in the marsh... Now that he could speak, he could properly apologize for all the trouble he'd caused...

"Do you see anyone you know?" Vivi asked, cutting into his thoughts as she steered them both toward the appetizer table, zeroing in on what looked to be a glass bowl of fresh gazpacho reposing in a bath of ice. "Ahh, I hope it is as good as it looks!"

(( Kyou - Refreshing Beverages -> Appetizer table // Laz - BBQ grill ))

Dressed in a casual dark grey shirt with dark blue jeans, and a black waist apron wrapped around his waist, Kyou was slicing fresh lemons to add to the pink lemonade. Since his arrival in the early morning, he had been helping with adding the finishing touches to the decoration and helping the caterer prepare some of the food. Not much cooking, but more adding a dash of zest and color to the food to make them pretty. Like adding yellow lemon slices to the pink lemonade and tearing up small pieces of mint and other vegetables for food garnishing purposes. The day's weather had been great thus far, it was sunny, but it was not too hot. The rich greenery and the shades from the tall trees do help in keeping the area cool.

As he slid the lemon slices into the gigantic jar, his gold eyes happen to catch the first arrivals of the garden party. Beaming, he set the cutting board down and wiped his hands on the apron before heading over. "Hello!" Kyou smiled as he extended a hand to the young lady dressed in soft green. "You must be Vivi."

Lazarus on the other hand, was more helpful with the cooking, and even the caterer agreed that he was more useful than the dark haired doctor. Since he was more used to fire and is comfortable around them, the caterer had tasked him to help with grilling the meat. A few pieces of well seasoned beef tenderloin sizzled gently on the grill as the fire Sigel watched them intently, making sure that they don't burn. The caterer - a small plump lady, will pop by occasionally to check on the progress and adding herbs when necessary. The beef will be sliced thinly later and served with sauce.

"Just a bit more." Says the caterer lady as she rushed off to prepare other food items. Stuck at the grill, he could only look from a distance as Kyou greeted a pretty woman and a Raevan with pink hair - certainly someone he had not met before. Red eyes divert to the entrance of the garden, wondering if he will arrive soon. Or if he is coming at all.

It was truly unfortunate that his guardian could not make it to the garden party this year ( Xiu was beginning to worry that his guardian was working too hard). Hazeline had mentioned that there was a staff meeting that she had to attend and that she would probably be back late; much too late for the garden party that was being hosted. Xiu could go if he wanted, his guardian had said. After all, wasn’t the white Sigel capable of taking the bus?

So took the bus he did and arrived at the garden party none the worse for wear. His hair had gotten a little windblown during the bus ride but that was hardly a deterrent. He could just freshen himself later if he needed to.

What did make the Sigel pause however was the sheer amount of effort that had gone into setting the garden party up. Pristine white tables lined one side of the garden. Coupled with a canopy of lush greenery and quaint lanterns, the garden scene was indeed one out of a fantasy book.

While the scene did make Xiu pause, the Sigel was quick to search for a certain someone in the crowd (not that there were many guests around at the moment). Blue eyes finally found the person he was looking for. Smiling happily with a slight blush building up, Xiu floated up to the fire being who seemed intent on grilling tenderloins. Tapping Lazarus lightly on the shoulder, Xiu gave Lazarus’ cheek a soft kiss when the other turned. There weren’t many guests around and that was precisely why the white Sigel took this opportunity to kiss the other. Besides, the Doctor was too busy dropping lemon slices to notice them.

( Phiel and Zurine - Arrival )

"Why is it so hot?" Zurine asked plaintively, her hands gripping the brim of her too-big, floppy sunhat. She had been reluctant to come out at all, but the promise of meeting people and of adventure had done it well enough. Phiel had taken the afternoon off work to escort her, and though he would not have complained if she had decided absolutely not to come, he had gently coaxed her into it. He had even agreed to bring her home early if she didn't find anything interesting to do.

"Because it's summer," Phiel said with a chuckle as he gently led Zurine toward the garden. "I know. There should be some ice for you, though. That'll help you stay nice and cool... If nothing else, there should be some with the drinks." The pretty garden made him feel just a little bit out of place, if he admitted it -- everything looked so lovely and delicate and colorful, and here he was in black, grim and tall as death itself, iron-colored and foreboding despite his smile and how gently he treated his little charge, fanning her gently as they headed over to the food area.

Sighing gustily, Zurine floated ahead to the drinks area. She could see ice nestled around things, and she was licking her lips with intent. They looked delicious, to her. She was old enough for Phiel to trust her in the same building for awhile, and he turned himself toward the desserts with purposeful strides. Something sweet and cool and fresh sounded good to him, too, and he scooted his sleeves up his arms, baring pale scarred skin between the ends of his sleeves and the tops of his gloves.

"Mm? Ah, bonjour!" Vivi looked up as she heard the someone approach, her eyes brightening as they lit upon the doctor. Such an attractive man; she knew she had not seen him before, or else she certainly would have remembered. His eyes alone would have made an impression, like melted gold! Perhaps a member of the Lab staff? Someone who worked with Zeke? With a bright smile, she shook his hand. "I am indeed Vivi, it is a pleasure! You are part of the Lab? It is a wonderful party, so beautiful. You have outdone yourselves."

Beside her, Cesc dipped his head reverently to the doctor, his expression one of gentle, genuine pleasure. "Hello, sir," he said simply.

[[Aphismet and Rivener - Arrival, drinks table]]

Rivener was grinning, looking forward to the event. After so long being surrounded by nothing but humans (with the exception of his brother and his Zul, of course), the Scorpion craved a good Raevan-crowded party. This summer tea party thing would definitely do the trick. With his hair pulled back in a half-ponytail and sunglasses on his face, Riv was ready for a full afternoon of sunshine and seeing old friends. Perhaps he might even make a few NEW friends!

Aphismet had almost refused to come, but in the end Riv had convinced him to take the day off and go. The chef was more than a little anxious because of what had happened last time they'd attended a Lab-hosted party... Anxious, and honestly, a little hopeful. He looked around skittishly as they parked, and kept behaving like a lamb in a wolf den all the way to the appetizer table, earning a roll of Rivener's eyes.

The Sigel wasn't about to let his guardian ruin his fun today, though. "For heaven's sake, Aph, just relax. It's a party: enjoy yourself! Let's get you something to drink, it'll loosen you up."

Aphi just nodded and smiled, following his Raevan to the drinks wordlessly.

Rivener almost did a double-take when he saw the Raevan already by the drinks, her blue fingers apparently wanting to reach for ice. Red eyes widened in shock. She could... She could have been Roux's sister! Or perhaps Roux reincarnated? A mental picture of Domo, Gage's re-built double, flashed through the Scorpion's mind and he became a little defensive, inching forward and smiling as dazzlingly as he could, hiding his uncertainty behind the dark eyeglasses.

"Hi," he began, ignoring Aphismet entirely now that the human was in the process of pouring himself a glass. "I'm Rivener. I'm sorry to intrude, but you just remind me very much of someone... If you don't mind my asking, how old are you? Maybe you were around when he was..." Now he waited, tense, wondering if this WAS Roux's reborn soul or something... would it remember him?
