History: Mr. and Mrs. Starsonge are exceptionally rich. Mrs. Jupiter Starsonge is a famous actress and singer, so she travels around frequently. Mr. Thaddeus Starsonge is a movie producer and is having an affair with the housekeeper in his summer home, so he's not around much either. They just aren't "parent" material (except when they need to do happy family type appearances), though they do love Julie, just not more than their own interests and careers.
Julie is a happy girl and enjoys being left home and in charge of as much money as she wants. Both of her parents are doting when they actually are free, and when they aren't, they make sure there's everything she'll ever need provided for. The mansion she lives in has a huge staff of people that will wait on her as she wants, she's got a car and chauffeur and is allowed to travel wherever she pleases, so long as she takes her bodyguard Bruce along.
Despite having anything and everything a child could desire available to her, Julie's learned the value of friends over money, and tends to let staff members and their families reside in the mansion with her, so long as they keep things neat. She'd rather have a ton of company and people to play with than be stuck alone in her big house with fancy toys and no one to pay attention to her.
She's also a dedicated pokemon fan, so finding a wild sentret is enough to make Julie a very happy girl and Fluffernutter a very happy pogey. |

Of Marshmallow Fluff and Little Girls
Most children of about ten years old or younger, cannot say they own their own mansion. They can probably also not say that they have an entire staff of people who wait on them hand and foot, or a personal bodyguard who they have seen more of than their parents. Julie Alisandra Starsonge was not most children, by any stretch of the imagination. She had super famous parents, lots and lots of money, and very few actual friends. The girl had more personal tutors per year than most kids had babysitters in their lives, and more space than she knew what to do with. Maybe the loneliness that came from missing her parents made it easier to let her staff move in and be so informal with her – or maybe Julie just really liked people more than was good for her.
However, there was one thing the somewhat sheltered little girl loved above all other things – cute stuff. She owned an entire room's worth of plushies, had her bedspread covered in kittens, and her entire bedroom was patterned in pink with hearts. Truly, Julie Starsonge was a little girl with little girl tastes and the power to put them into action. And she was also an avid Pokemon fan, though her exposure to the series tended to be watching for plot and fast forwarding through battles – those were mean! Who wanted to make such cute pokemon fight?
Maybe it was just her luck, then, that she actually ended up meeting one for herself. Julie was curled on a blanket in a small wooded area by her home, in the process of making sandwiches on the day it happened. Her bodyguard, Bruce, was hiding about somewhere – generally choosing to let her do whatever she wanted rather than interfere. And really, nothing was bothering her as she opened up the peanutbutter to spread on the bread for her sandwich. What the girl DIDN'T notice was a creature creeping up to investigate the open jar of marshmallow fluff that was open next to her.
When Julie did finally look over – a cough from Bruce alerting her to there being a reason to look – she ended up spotting what had to be the cutest thing ever. A small, chubby Sentret had gotten his paws all covered in the marshmallow and was happily licking his paws clean. It was so adorable, that Julie burst out into giggles soon as she saw him. This might have scared any other sentret – for they were very timid pokemon – but it seemed she had gotten lucky in meeting a very young and very friendly one. This little baby had hatched alone in the woods and now he was looking for food from whoever would give it.
“Awww...are you hungry?” the small blonde cooed, reaching out to pet the pokemon's ears soon as he started to giggle back at her. Well, it was more of a chittering sound but who was to judge whether chittering was or wasn't a form of giggles? “Do you like Fluffernutter?” she asked, pointing to the jar. More chitters and noises she couldn't understand later, and somehow the pokemon was in her lap and now named for the product he was happily having on a sandwich with his new trainer. Not the most orthodox start to a relationship of this sort, but what do you expect from them? They were both very young, after all. |

Fluffernutter's Star!
Fluff was EXCITED! He had been looking for DAYS to find a star like the one Tulip had told him and Julie about. It was a special star, they'd been told, one that would make him grow into a person! That'd be so much fuuun! He'd be able to run like a human and talk like a human and jump and play and do ALL SORTS OF THINGS! That'd be so awesome! Truly, the sentret was naïve when it came to the ways of the world and what it meant to be something different. Luckily, he'd at least only been alive a very short while, so the comparative time of not being human versus being human would probably not be so bad.
Julie, for her part, didn't really understand just WHAT her partner was doing or going through. The implication was when he found the star, he'd become human and they'd get to play together. It made her sad to think he wouldn't be her little cuddly Fluff anymore, but there were plushies for that, right? She'd have a real friend for once, and her partner really did seem to want to become human! Why begrudge him that?
It was a dark night, half a week after they'd met Risty the first time, when the two ended up staying up late. Fluff was curled in Julie's lap, the pair out on the lawn watching the stars with rapt interest. Maybe the star Tulip had found came from there? Those were all so pretty! The two watched in fascination as the stars twinkled and it seemed almost as if one of those beautiful glowies was going to fall right into their laps!
The star in question WASN'T going to fall into their laps – more like a ways away into the yard, but still! It seemed so close! Fluff's eyes widened in amazement when he realized there really WAS a star heading towards the ground at the far end of their lawn and immediately the sentret jumped up to chase after it, chittering about it being the one. His blonde partner blinked sleepily before chasing after. “Fluuff! Waiiiiiiiiit!” she half cried, not able to keep up with the bouncing tail as well as she wanted, “Don't go without me!”
They made it into the far end of the property, and Fluff could see the star twinkling just over the gate. Try as he might, however, the creature just couldn't bounce high enough to get over the fence. Julie caught up with him by this point, hugging the sentret around his middle, “Fluff, don't go away like that again, please.” the child whimpered, cuddling him, “if we go for the star, we go together.” The small critter made a sad noise, nodding it's body as an apology – it hadn't meant to leave her!
Julie kissed the critter's head, smiling a bit and opening the gate. “Come on, Fluff, we can just go through and find your star.” the blonde promised her partner, helping him to look in the underbrush outside. What they found was a small, glowing object, that the Sentret picked up eagerly. Though...now he'd found it, what to do? A yawn from Julie, followed by one from himself answered that question. “Less go inside, Fluffy.” she mumbled and carefully picked up the pokemon, already beginning to snooze in her arms. It was lucky she carried him back in now, since when they woke up, her little sentret wouldn't be so little anymore. |

The Size-Changes and the Unexpected Results!
When Julie and Fluff had curled up in bed that night, they really hadn't expected things to really turn out that different. Maybe those stars just weren't the same for everyone! The little girl stretched and yawned but found she was not so little anymore! And next to her was a small, fluffytailed boy. It seemed Julie helping Fluff pick up the star had had a very minor impact on her as well so now she was a bit more physically along the lines of 14. The sentret, it seemed, had grown into a brown haired boy with a little chub to him and some blue clothes that didn't quite fit.
That had been, well, shocking! Who had ever heard of a regular little girl suddenly growing larger from a magical star that turned pokemon into people? Julie had immediately jumped up and wobbled about, attempting to figure out just what to do with these longer legs and tight clothes! She'd started making little surprised 'eeps!' and 'shrieks' and when Fluff woke up he started making similar noises of surprise and shock! The pair were jumping around the room being surprised and that woke half the staff up, who came in to investigate this odd phenomenon! Oh dear, what would Miss Julie's parents think?!?!?!
Fluff sighed heavily and eventually curled up on the bed, hiding under his tail while the rest of the staff went to get them food and fitted for more clothing. This was WEIRD! He'd wanted very much to be human like Julie so he could play with her but now he was different he could see why it had confused and upset Tulip. Suddenly things that had been so natural, like bouncing on his tail or skittering, weren't possible anymore, and climbing into enclosed spaces was extra hard. His legs were wobbly and weird and he felt so out of sorts! Plus now Julie was different too! At least...she'd be learning new things with him! That'd be good.
When Julie came back in a slightly bigger sundress she took Fluff's hand and helped him stand, speaking gently to try and calm the pokemon, and showed him to another room so they could pick out a few better fitting clothes for the sentret-boy too. This could be ok, right? Yes...just maybe it could. |

Following The Leader
“Step-two-three-four, step-two-three-four,” the voice of the tutor rang clear as she clapped her hands mirthlessly and slowly in time to beats of the music. Julie was standing and using Fluff as a partner, albeit an awkward once since he was so much shorter than her – it was fun for him just the same! The girl moved around and tried to follow the silly beat just the same, and for the most part it seemed to be a fun little activity, if hard.
Julie's parents had taken her 'growth spurt' rather well. It seemed they didn't exactly pay the closest attention to their daughter's age – they loved her very much but were a bit on the silly side and just didn't notice things. However they still tried to do what was proper for her and her little friend/companion of sorts and had a few more tutors come to teach Julie more societal things like dance and music and such more thoroughly than when she'd been little. It wasn't HARD or MEAN but the flurry of activities could get quite irksome.
“Some point Fluff, I'm going to declare it Summer break, for us, and all the tutors will go home and we'll go do things. We'll go visit places again. Wouldn't that be nice?” Julie smiled as she danced with her little friend.
He thought about this for a few moments. “See things? See the sea? Yes. Nice. Very nice. I like this idea.” Fluff wasn't so much unable to speak properly, he'd had tutors and help from Julie for that, but he spoke fast and quick because he thought like that, in short bursts and such. The boy seemed to enjoy these lessons for the most part. They'd even found a way to work in his.
When Julie decided their lesson was done, she decided to playfully practice a technique with Fluff – they'd looked up all these little skills a sentret would learn over time and tried to think of some they could teach him. Julie ducked down and pat Fluff's head when she decided it was time for more play – the tutor being distracted.
“Ok Fluff, today we're going to try 'Follow Me' ok! That one should be easy! You have to jump around and try to get attention and think really really hard about using your pokemon power to make them pay attention to you. I'm going to run and and-” she looked around then and spotted a tray of freshly iced cupcakes from one of the staff, “swipe us some cupcakes. You ready fluffers?”
“Ready!” He whispered back and the pair crouched down and she darted aside a little so she was covered by the table out there – one of many out in the garden for lunches and stuff, to brighten up the area since so many lived at the place. Fluff crouched then suddenly sprang up, making all sorts of loud chitters and flailing his arms, sometimes managing to bounce on his tail a bit.
“Hey heyheyheyheyhey! Look at meeeeee!” he called loudly, waving his arms and closing his eyes tight to think hard on 'make them pay attention to me make them pay attention to me dont make them notice her getting cupcakes, mememememee”.
When he opened his eyes across the way Julie was darting out and running across the lawn with two cupcakes as everyone else stared dumbstruck at Fluff and how silly he was being. Julie giggled furiously as she darted over to him and handed over a cupcake.
“Go Fluff! You did it this time! It worked!” She giggled and hugged the littler creature. “you did it!”
They'd been practicing that move sometimes in playing for a while but now it had finally worked! Julie was so proud of him – and Fluff was proud of himself too! He'd learned a pokemon skill! Maybe not the toughest but it was a skill! |
