Physical Description: With pale, straight hair the color of dried wheat that falls to her shoulder blades [normally worn back in a loose bun] and black, serious eyes, Kess is quite striking. Her lightly tanned skin is well freckled, her palms well calloused due to the hard work of the weyr, and at 5'8" her body is finally a woman's. Now eighteen turns, Kess's bust has grown and her hips are now wider, showing off her slim waist and long legs. The tomboy has become quite the attractive young woman. Her full lips, wide mouth, and soft, husky voice are finally beginning to match her physical appearance.
On her person she wears the simple, well-tailored attire of a harder working weyrling, fitted clothing [very light fabrics as it is quite warm in Ista Weyr] in varying colors that cling to her suddenly developing curves, belted at the hips, a blade for hunting tunnelsnakes and cutting cords, as well as a pouch or two.
Personality: To the passerby, Kess might seem shy, overly serious, or even dull, when an examination of her character will show her to be the near opposite. Quiet, yes. Focused, yes. The blonde can, however, be considered an introvert, in that she prefers to listen and observe, tracking patterns with her gaze and keeping her opinions close to her breast. Often, she seems to make sudden actions or choices, due to her way of considering a problem silently, then taking a course of action that makes sense only near its completion. Her odd, wry sense of humor is generally only picked up by the closest friends and the mentors that have known her the longest. Intelligent, she is often listened to despite her young age [at least among the Candidates and those working in the more dragon-focused areas of the weyr] due to her pithy nature. She comments only when she has an observation of value, and the amount of time she's spent as a Candidate doesn't seem to bother her in the slightest.
Despite her potential to be a strong leader, Kess prefers to take the backseat to her compatriots, instead providing them with key words of guidance and any help she can. This being said, Kesslan is not the type to be pushed around and is made of strong moral fiber. She is a fan of hard work, both physical [as it provides her with ample time to think] and mental [as they sharpen her thoughts]. Loyal, strong-willed, and reticent, one could consider her motto "Think quickly and speak slowly."
Though she's good-natured toward most and well able to take a joke, Kess has been known to turn a cold shoulder on those who don't pull their weight in the weyr. In fact, nothing seems to irritate her quite as much as a lazy Candidate or, due to a current lack of Thread, Dragonrider. Not one prone to harsh language or snapping, she keeps her tongue, but not her gaze or body language, in check. The hard-working lass is quick to make friendly working companions, however her quiet nature has caused her number of close friends to be quite limited.
This girl plans on going to the top. Not through using or pushing down others, but via hard work and helping those around her. Kess is ambitious, smart, and tenacious.
Now that she's impressed Condoroth, Kess finds herself with more confidence, due to the unconditional love and support of her dragon, as well as the green's aptitude for precision, something that the blonde adores. Though still an introvert, she appears far more easy-going on the outside.
History: The blonde is one of three children born to a blue dragonrider and a journeyman leatherworker. She has a twin brother, Korist, who is currently an apprentice harper [who returns to see his sister stand at each hatching], and a younger sister, Margot, who is but seven turns. At a certain time, it was thought that Kesslan would be the harper, and Korist the candidate, however since she was but a babe she was fascinated with the dragons, and was in turn recognized. Both twins, however, have quite lovely singing voices, though Kor's is superior due to his training.
Weyr bred and raised, Kesslan had been a candidate since the young age of fourteen. She of course, had yet to impress, and those that teased on such a matter simple received a calm look from the serious lass. It was obvious to most that she was Dragonrider material, her companion just hadn't hatched yet.
Just before her 18th birthday, she attended the Hatching of Cheoth's clutch and was mauled by Gold Arioth, soon to be bonded to Rinfala. By the wee hours of the morning, only three eggs were left upon the sands. That of the blue, who went between, Condoroth, who found Kesslan in her rage and soothed her, and the final egg that never hatched. It was a sad, sad day.
Her life is currently all about learning as much as she can to take care of Condoroth, as well as drills and getting to know her clutchmates and the dragonriders of the weyr.

Other/Talents: Basic knife skills/hunting/drudgery, light leatherworking skills from parent. Some singing and musical ability. Skill with animals.

Green Condoroth
Green Condoroth can follow directions to a T. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to find a dragon who can execute commands more precisely than this girl. Accuracy is practically her middle name! She's never satisfied with 'I did my best' and always strives for just a little bit more. Of course, she's never satisfied with her rider, either. She's always encouraging Hers for more. A positive dragon, she doesn't have an issue putting up with complaints or ill will, Condoroth is more than happy to put in enough effort for the both of them, if the need arises.
A well-built green, Condoroth isn't built for speed, but for reliability, and that's something her entire world revolved around. She always wants Hers to be able to trust in her. Whether it be an important secret or coming to the rescue in the nick of time, Condoroth has resolved to always be there whenever Hers needs her. Should she ever fail her rider, Condoroth will take it incredibly hard. She will be inconsolable and it will take a lot of reassurance to restore her self-worth. While she will continue to work as hard as she ever did, the stocky green will simply mark herself as replaceable and that trademark self-assurance will be long gone.
Never a leader, she is built for the support role, and she likes it there. Condoroth is strong of character but has no ambitions for herself, other than to care for her rider to her best ability. That aside, the green just wants to give it her all, and nothing more. If she should be recognized for her efforts and abilities, she will be incredibly proud and try that much harder. Her ego will probably never get her, but the prouder she is, the harder she is to argue off her point.
As far as Flights go, Condoroth is only interested as far as her biology requires her to be. She is one of the mellowest greens in the Weyr when it comes to pre-Flight proddiness and is not picky with her males. She doesn't mind a heavy influence from her rider and doesn't really have favorites. She'll never be attached to anyone, it would simply get in the way of her and Hers.
Oh god, why me?
Condoroth was immediately attracted to Kesslan's strengths and her attitude. Quite the work horse, this little green will happily go to work for Hers and never complain. Hopefully, Kesslan will teach her how to relax a little bit, because life isn't completely about the results!
Friesian
The Friesian (also Frisian) is a horse breed originating in Friesland, a province of the Netherlands. Although the breed's conformation resembles that of a light draft horse, Friesians are graceful and nimble for their size. During the Middle Ages, it is believed that the ancestors of Friesian horses were in great demand as war horses throughout continental Europe. Through the Early Middle Ages and High Middle Ages, their size enabled them to carry a knight in armor. In the Late Middle Ages, heavier, draft type animals were needed. Though the breed nearly became extinct on more than one occasion, the modern day Friesian horse is growing in numbers and popularity, used both in harness and under saddle. Most recently, the breed is being introduced to the field of dressage.
Condor
She also takes the gold winged horse brooch, which she only noticed after his death. It is the symbol of his office as a Green Rider. Karigan, following her promise, rides the Horse (whose real name is Condor) to Sacor City through perilous paths. The Horse appears to have an uncanny ability to navigate the various dangers Karigan encounters, always delivering Karigan to safety. During the journey, she meets many people, including the Berry sisters, members of the mystical, elf-like race of Eletians, and two traitorous Weapons (a special rank given only to the bodyguards of the king). Throughout her journey, the ghost of F'ryan Coblebay follows her, urging her on and providing help when desperately needed.
