Shyntral makes use of various bone fragments and powders to use his spells. These small pouch's are often kept tucked into a belt with multiple small pockets attached to it. Ghost Feathers : The black feathers are more then just mere decoration for Shyntral. Into the hollow quills of the feathers he packs a special powder created from crushed bones of the deceased. By doing this he entraps the souls of the dead he is working with. Binding them to his will. Their ghosts reside trapped within the feathers until he calls them out to do his bdding.

 Journal Entry 35
I have neglected my journal in favor of other pursuits of my free time. Much has changed since I have opened these pages. I was only a young man at the time. You who read this probably have fresh in your mind my hopeful thoughts of learning a mages trade and establishing a honored place here in the House that has been so kind as to foster me. It really was a stroke of fortune that led the male that had laid eyes upon me be moved to purchase me from what most likely would have been a short and unpleasant fate otherwise.
Slavery is ne'er kind to the young. I still bare it's coldness in my heart. A terrible fear of becoming inconsequential and expendable.
I achieved my dream, in a manner of speaking. Just as my master had ascertained, I had high intellect that proved keenly adaptable to the study of magic. Sadly I was denied by him the choice of magical paths presented to me. As the one to buy me, he determined that I would study the skills of the Necromancer. I in truth longed to learn the magic of the Enchanter, but it was not my place to refuse my master. Prince of this noble House that he was. I suspect he has, or had, plans for me. I will never know them though.
Yes, I write of him in the past tense. While I have spent the past two decades toiling under a harsh teachers power, answering his demands and bowing to his whims with no questions, I have returned to the House fully trained... and with no man to call master. I was met with amusement when I approached the gates and requested to be taken to my master. As a cruel joke they did take me to him, to the family crypt where his body was entombed. I experienced a loss of hours following this cruelness. I had skills. A bounty of talent and a burning eagerness to repay my master for his generosity. I was ready now to prove to him the usefulness I possessed, to repay him for saving me from a more unhappy ending.
I would like to make amends to him, for they left me alone in the crypt. I said I had skills did I not? Boundless talents? I cracked open his tomb and wrested from his decaying corpse a tooth. Had my master somehow known of his pending fate? Or was it some unseen force that had him determined that I might follow the only path of magic that would render a corpse a source of useful interest? I summoned his spirit and bound it to that tooth. Though my Master is long since dead, it does not mean I could not fulfill my own goal in serving a purpose to him.
Master is a vengeful spirit. Filled with anger and unrelenting malice. His sister meant to use him as a tool to remove her rival within the house. When he learned the part he would play, he rebelled and paid the price for it. I am not privy to the details of his death. Though in the play of magic I am his master, I still acknowledge him as mine own and I respectfully adhere to his will. His will has given me a purpose as well.
Though my master was dead in accordance to the House, I was still his property, and hence property of the House. They had no troubles accepting a fully trained Necromancer into their halls as their vassal. I keenly avoided speaking things that would lend them the truth of my situation. I allowed them to believe I was merely indebted to their fallen kin, a thing I far prefer over the truth.
My master appointed me my task. A charge most dire should it be discovered. I am to eradicate all females of the House save for two. The Matron Mother herself, and the sister whom my master had died for. I suspect it is his spirits vengeful will that this female, that he was meant to be the ruin of, should ascend to the place that the others would have denied her. Whatever it is, his direction is all I require. I started off by merely watching her. Shadows, shades, and small minor ghosts were all I needed to haunt her. I learned much about this diminutive female.
She is intelligent...beautiful and oh so very sly. I watched her as she charmed and swayed other drow. I watched as she coyishly played them and how well she manipulated them. Despite how small she is, she is the image of perfection. Sweet and beautiful Auncice. I succumb to her charms even from afar. I approached her and in such foolishness begged for the honor of serving her.
She laughed at me.
I should have expected it, but I pursued her intently. My master assumed that it was due to his will and direction that I attempted to come to know her. But he is undeniably wrong. I wished to know this stunning female because of my own weak heart. I fear...I fear for what truth it may be concealing right now.
When she deemed to leave the House, I followed her. A persistent Shadow upon her heels. She did not have to ask me, though I would have greatly relished it had she. To be even commanded by her to come. Like a unworthy hound I sniff at her heels in hopes of finding a carelessly dropped scrap. I abide by my masters wishes and his spirit is appeased by my haunting of her. I shall protect her. I shall assure her continued life, and someday when she deems to return to the House I shall ensure she ascends. Until then I shall inflict my masters will from afar. Plague shall strike the House again and again. Wights and Shades shall visit it's halls and I shall drain the lives of the females that call that place Home. My master shall be appeased and I shall continue to hover near to Auncice in hopes of gaining her favor.
