User Image Tongue Stud of Hell Breath: This golden stud, passed through the tongue, turns normal breath into a 50 ft line of hellfire 3 times per day. This hellfire deals Unholy damage, not fire damage. It appears as black and purple flame and does not harm the one who wears the tongue stud.

User Image n****e Clamp of Exquisite Pain: The wearer of this ring is immune to the debilitating effects of pain. He is not immune to the actual damage that causes the pain. The clamp converts all pain into a pleasureable sensation. This item does not change how or whether the character is damaged, but it does change how he might react to recieving it.

User Image Dark Alter Stone: This piece of black granite, if used as an alter or part of one, can be commanded to absorb the soul of a sacrificed creature upon it. It then stores the soul until such time that the caster wishes to use it for some other purpose. A Dark Alter Stone can only trap one soul at a time.

User Image Bloodfeeding Staff: Every time Xunner deals damage to a opponent, his staff feeds on the blood of his enemy. This blood is stored in the crystal that tops his staff. He is able to use the crystal to focus a attack on a enemy, and unleash a portion of the pain and damage he has already dealt on another by useing the stored blood as fuel for the power. This effect consumes the blood stored in the crystal and he must begin collecting blood anew before he can use this ability again. When the crystal is fully filled with blood, Xunners attack can have a devestating effect. He may also divide up the damage between multiple targets or attacks

((The following information is based on the D&D information for a demonologist, found in The Book of Vile Darkness. ))

User Image A demonologist is a mortal who has devoted their life to the study of demons. He is practiced in dealing with them, fighting them, and useing them for his own gain. He even gains some demon abilities due to his study and devotion to the fiends of the Abyss. Demonologists are always evil, although they may not think of themselves as such. No character can get so close to the mind of utter corruptionand come away unchanged.

Most demonologists were once wizards or sorcerers, although bards who delve into evil lore also frequently meet the requirements for this class.

Demonologists see themselves as researchers and keepers of lore that most people can not handle. Thus, they often sequester themselves away in libraries of dark knowledge. They attempt to deal with demons on equal footing - an extremely dangerouse undertaking- and rarely interact with mortals. When demonoligists see the need, they emerge from their studies and use their dark powers to take or do what they want; then they return to their books and summoning circles. Pc's may come into conflict with a demonologist who is after some rare bit of lore or a magic item they possess. Or the characters might need the help of a demonologist if they are planning on fighting some demons or need aid or information.

User Image Charm Demon: A demonologist can attempt to charm a demon once per day. The demon suffers a lower resistance to the Demonologist though it can attempt to resist the casters ability.

User Image Quasit Familar: A demonologist gains a Quasit as a familar, whether he wants it or not. If he already has a familar, the Quasit devours the familar and replaces it. Xunner's Quasit spends most of it's time trapped in a silver charm that he wears.

User Image Resistances: A demonologist is naturally resistant to Acid, Cold, Fire, and Electricity. He is not immune to these elements.

User Image Poison Immunity: A demonologist is immune to all poisons.

User Image Hold Demon: A Demonologist can attempt to Hold a demon magically once per day. The demon is not able to use it's natural resistances against the caster though there is a chance that it can resist the demonologists power if it is stronger then him.

User Image Telepathy: A Demonologist can communicate telepathically within 100 feet that with any creature that has a language, just like a tanar'ri can.

User Image Dominate Demon: A demonologist can Dominate a demon once per day and controll it. The demon can not use it's normal resistances against this spell, though if it is much stronger it can attempt to fight the casters spell.

User Image Summon Monster This spell summons a creature (Typically a Demonic type for Xunner). It appears where the caster designates and acts immediatly. It will attack opponents to the best of it's abilities. If the caster can communicate with the creature, the caster can direct it's attacks, or command it otherwise. Otherwise the creature acts in the best interest of the caster by acting as a guardian. Summoned creatures can not summon or conjur more creatures. Nor can they use any teleportation or planar travel abilities. Creatures can not be summoned into an environment that can not support it. Below is a basic list of the types of creatures that Xunner can summon:

Fiendish Dire Rat

They can only be removed by a Bless, Remove Curse spell, or by the caster himself.

User Image Dance of Ruin To cast this spell, the caster dances wildly and chants. When he finishes the dance a wave of crackling energy flashes outward up to the extent of 25ft. All Non-demon creatures in range are damaged by this energy blast.

User Image Demoncall The caster taps into forbidden knowledge of demons, granting him insight in accordance to obscure arcane, religious, or planar knowledge that can be gleaned from a demon in the abyss.

User Image Magic Circle against Evil This spell functions much like the spell Protection from Evil. Only it encompasses a greater area. It may also be focused inwardly or outwardly. meaning it can function as a immoble and temporary magical prison for the creature in question. A Magic Circle covers a 25ft radius. Entrapped creatures can not cross the barrier of the spell. likewise, creatures outside the area of effect that are subject to the term 'evil' can not cross the barrier either. Creatures trapped within can not use spells or abilities to effect those on the outside. Creatures protected within the area of effect are protected from mental control, possession, or attacks by other evil creatures.

User Image Magic Circle against Good This spell functions much like the spell Protection from Good. Creatures protected within the area of effect are protected from mental control, possession, or attacks by other good creatures.

User Image Protection from Elements The spell caster chooses a single particular element and temporarily imbues a subject with a greater resistance to damage from that element. IE- When protected from fire, the subject can walk through flames without being burnt and will not be inconvienced by the heat of the flame. However they can still suffer from lack of air if the fire is burning too hotly around him. A subject protected from water will remain dry even when submerged and will not suffer effects from being in water too cold or too hot. However they still need to breath and can suffocate if submerged too long without a secondary spell like 'Breath Water' active.

User Image Stunning Screech The caster emitts a piercing screech like that of the Vrock deamon. Every creature within the area is stunned for a few moments by the force of the screech.

User Image Abyssal Might The caster summons evil energy from the abyss and imbuees himself with it's might. The caster gains a enhancement to their strength, dexterity, and constitution as well as their resistance.

User Image Corrupt Summons This spell summons a corrupt and evil creature from the abyss to do the casters bidding. It functions much like Summon Monster, only it is limited to fiendish and abyssal types of creatures.

User Image Demon Wings Massive bat like wings grow from the casters back. The caster can fly at his normal land speed with average manuverability. The caster can carry his normal carrying capacity, and greater burdens effect his speed and manuverability

User Image Lesser Planar Binding Casting this spell attempts a dangerouse act: to lure a creature from another plane to a specifically prepared trap, which must lie within the spells range. The called creature is held in the trap until it agrees to perform one service in return for it's freedom. To create the trap the caster must use a Magic Circle spell, focused inwardly. The kind of creature to be bound must be known and stated. If you wish to call a specific individual, you must use that individuals proper name in the casting of the spell. The target creature can attempt to resist the spell, but if it fails it is immediatly drawn into the trap. Spell resistance does not keep it from being summoned to the area.) The creature can successfuly escape the trap if it has the use of Dimesional travel or by attempting to charm the caster into releaseing it. (Though a Dimesional Anchor will keep the creature from useing the Dimensional Travel option) If the creature can not break free of the trap the caster may keep it bound for as long as the caster dares. The caster can attempt to compel the creature to perform a service by describing the service and perhaps offering a reward. The creature is not required to accept this deal of course, and bargaining can continue until the creature promises to serve, breaks free, or the caster decides to get rid of it by use of another spell. Once the deal is accepted, and the requested service is performed, the creature only inform the caster in order to be sent back immediatly from where it has come. Of course, this isn't to say that it may not seek revenge later. If the caster assigned some open ended task that the creature can not complete through it's own actions (Such as ''Wait Here' or 'Defend this area against attack') the spell remains in effect for a number of days determined by the skill and strength of the caster, after which the creature can attempt to break free of the spell. This particular spell is limited to creatures such as Elementals and lesser beings.

User Image Call Dretch Horde The caster calls 2 - 8 dretch demons from the abyss to where she is, offering them a soul that has been prepared in sacrifice to them. In exchange, the demons vow to serve the caster for one year as guards, slaves, or whatever else he needs them for. They are profoundly stupid, so the caster can not give them more complicated tasks than can be described in ten words. The caster is limited in the amount of dretchs he can ultimately control based on his skill.

User Image Dread Word the caster speaks a single unique word of pure malvolence. A powerful utterance from the Dark Speech language. The word is so foul it harms the very soul of the one who hears it. The utterance of a Dread Word causes a physical withering at times. The power of this spell protects the caster from the damaging effects of both hearing and knowing the word. To attempt to speak this word without using this spell means instant death with no adverse effects upon those around them.

User Image Dimensional anchor

User Image Imprison Possessor The caster traps one creature that can possess or inhabit other creatures, or one that can move it's mind into another body, within the creature it currently inhabits. The possessing creature can not leave the body it is currently in by any means unless released by the caster.

User Image Bestow Greater Curse The caster places a curse upon a touched creature. They may bestow one of the following three effects: The rob the subject of their capabilites. IE- Making a characer extremely weak, or fogging thier mind so they can no longer think inteligently, or removing their ability to move dexeriously. They are incapable of fighting or performing tasks that require physical movemtn. Such as playing a musical instrument or cooking. Or the subject has periods of mind blanks where they forget what they were doing. A Greater Curse can not be dispelled nor does it have a end time for it's effect. A Greater Curse can only be removed by a powerful Curse removal spell by a priestess, or if the subject agrees to perform a specific task for the spell caster. In this case the curse is lifted and the subject has one full year to complete the task or be inflicted with the curse again.

User Image Call Nightmare The caster calls a Nightmare from the lower planes of the abyss, offering it a soul prepared in a ritual for it as a sacrifice. In exchange the Nightmare serves the caster for one week as a mount or guard. Although if the Nightmare moves more then 150 ft away from the caster it is immediatly returned to the abyss. The Nightmare may return to the caster anytime during the week of service by the caster summoning the creature back from the Abyss. Multiple castings of this spell replace the previous Nightmare with a new one. So the caster may only control 1 Nightmare at a time.

User Image Cloud of the achaierai The caster conjurs a choking toxic cloud of inky blackness. Those, other then the caster, inside of the cloud are damaged by this blackness and may become subject to a temporary magical Confusion for the duration of the spell.

User Image Dismissal

User Image Impotent Possessor The caster renders one creature that can possess or inhabit other creatures, or a creature that can move it's mind out of it's body, powerless within the host it currently inhabits. Potential targets include possessing demons, malvolent ghosts, and a caster currently using a spell to inhabit the body of another. The only action the subject can take is to leave the body it currently inhabits.

User Image Planer Binding As the spell Lesser Planer bBinding, only it may summon Greater creatures such as Demons, Devils, Celestial tpes, and any Outsider type of being.

The Curse
Or perhaps it is better known as 'The Consequence'. When Xunner first began to secretly study the art of Demonology, the drow male was a bit over confident. he attempted to summon and bind a greater demon. One far beyond his ability to control. This demon easily subdued Xunner mentally, and puppetted him into breaking the binding circle that had him entrapped. Xunner's memories are very lucid in accordance to what happened afterwards, which is a torment for the male that returns to him in the form of nightmares. He remembers the demon specifically tormenting him by useing some form of spell that caused him to feel pain yet left no marks upon him. Once the demon tired of hearing Xunner screaming, he drew his own circle and performed a ritual like none that Xunner had ever seen.

The demon ripped Xunner's soul from his body in part. His body endured a undescribable agony, as the demon casually devoured his soul in small bites. Once his soul became nothing more then a flimsy shadow in the demons talons, the demon summoned a lesser demon to it. As Xunner watched, the demon tore fromt his demon some of it's own essence, and he infused it into the weakened drow's soul. Xunner once more endured a great deal of pain, as the greater demon forced the spliced demon essence and his own soul back into his body. In order to ensure no sort of bonding occured between Xunner and the lesser demon the essence had been taken from, the greater demon devoured the lesser in it's entierty. Thus ensureing that nothing remained of the original demon. Then, as Xunner was still weak and vulnerable, the greater demon performed a binding upon Xunner. Should the day come that his fleshly prison be killed, his demonicly infused soul would be dragged into the abyss and to his new masters presence. To be devoured fully, or put to a better use. Should Xunner manage to prove himself worthy of being a vassle of the greater demon.

Seems my old journal went the way of the flame last night. All well and good I suppose, that was another life. I've a new start and I'll not waste it dwelling on my failures and shames. Still, I wonder what caused my magic to stir while I slept? A good thing I woke up so quick or my pack may not have been the only thing lost!

I've been accepted into a mercenary group. The only ones willing to have me. Perhaps my reputation precedes me? They seem a sketchy sort, but it's a start. I can't expect to be taken in to a reputable lot with no 'references'. The Captain gives me the feeling I ought to carefully count my coins each pay day. Perhaps it's just 'New Guy' jitters. A few seem like-able. The warrior and archer appear to be the sort I might get along with. There's some skulker rouge type in the group as well. I honestly wouldn't have noticed him except for his eyes. I've never seen such intense color. It reminds me of the coldest ice. Such a true blue. They chill me.

We've a job. Not one to my liking either. Patrolling? What sort of waste of a job is that? I thought Merc's were men of action? We go where there is battle and lay out our targets flat on their backs. Right? Obviously not.

I've fit in fairly well with some of the group. Dice and cards are a favored game and I play well at them. Both honestly and otherwise. I still have the sense I am viewed secretly with a humoring grace. I haven't had a chance to show my mettle and I dislike the few offhand comments about mages worth in battle or their vanity. Oh, sure, I am a bit vain. But I'm not useless.

I believe that perhaps I am viewed as such by our great and esteemed Captain. I've been paired with the emo bastion of solitude Xar, the cold eyed male I had written about. We leave in less then an hour to begin patrolling. Why couldn't I have been paired with someone else? At least someone who I could play dice with or coax into my sleeping bag during the 'lonesome' days ahead!

I am acheing to use my magic in any way I can manage. I want to show these others in the group just how useful, and deadly, I can be. I have studied hard and long to strike terror into something. Anything...I just want to smell blood...

I have attempted to make the best of the patrol together and attempted to engage Xar in small conversation on many occasions. I feel like I'm talking to myself though. Is he even paying attention to me? Forced to endure his company with no other options, I have come to admire some of his qualities. He's skilled at being damn quiet. His eyes are terribly beautiful too. It always comes back to those eyes. Still, he's no socialite. I am afraid of waking up with a dagger in my lower regions if I hinted at sharing a sleeping bag. Though, I'd rather enjoy the opportunity to see if there is some manner of warmth behind those chilling blue eyes.

Thus far our patrol has been boring. This is what wears on me most. I ache for the opportunity to prove that I have value. I am restless and the taint within me hungers for some sort of sustanace. I need a outlet. Some means to expel some of the flame that's building up inside me. I don't want another 'accident' to haunt me. One's more then enough.

Our term of duty is nearly at it's end. I am grateful. Once we get back maybe I will be able to find some means to expel this agonizing build up. Xar has been... well... You know what they say about strangers and solitude right? Lock a pair up for a few weeks alone, by the time you let them out they are either dead or great friends. I do not think Xar and I qualify for either of those options. I wonder if my pursuit of conversation has brought him close to performing the former though? Regardless, I guess he isn't so bad. At least he doesn't snore.

I write this in agony. Xar for some reason went off on his own to complete our patrol. I woke and thought to wait for him. He has given me nothing but the cold treatment since this whole patrol began. I am glad I did not let my frustration keep me at the campsite. I heard the excited sounds of some monsters and hurried to one of the final caves we had to search. Xar was beset by a pair of hook horrors. They seemed to be getting the better of him, as they had knocked him prone and he appeared hurt. I am strangely surprised by this. For some odd reason I find it hard to believe Xar could have been hurt by anything at all.

I lit up one of the monsters with a flame pillar spell. Though I boast that my eyes are immune to the light, unlike my brothers, it is a half truth at best. I could only see poorly in the flames light. But I saw enough to make my way to Xar. I had intended on pulling him out of danger, but I suspect the second monster was frightened by the flames turning it's companion into a carbon statue and it lashed out.

My right side of my head aches like no pain I have felt before. I was blinded by pain and cast a offensive spell instinctively. I must have been so very lucky, as the creature fled... I have had to rely on Xar to wrap my head. The pain makes it hard to think and the blood loss makes me feel ill and weak. We are only briefly resting now, soon we will carry on and reach the company in the next few hours.

I am beyond words. Confused certainly. We arrived at the company, the captain took a look at me, and told me to not bother unpacking. I still feel weak from the effort I made to get here. This place that should be -safety-. Instead I found myself nearly flung aside like so much bloody and used bandages! Xar though, spoke out in protest. I fail right now to describe the relief and gratitude I feel for him right now. I have been given a safe place to rest and recover. In a few days we shall reach a city, then I shall collect my final pay and pray it is enough to hire a non-priestess healer to save my eye. I worry though that there will be no saving it. When I ask Xar how it looks he speaks nothing to me...
