Name: Scythra House: Piranor Class: Mage; Elementalist; Arachnids Personality: Scythra is a malicious sadistic drow who takes a extreme savage pleasure in her duality of nature. That of being a Mage and a devoted daughter of the Spider Queen. Scythra forms no physical or emotional attachments to any being and disdains the dalliances of comradeship and trust. She thrives on the prospect of creating discord and chaos. Scythra dispenses with the lies and web weaving that most drow indulge in. She adopts the belief that the greatest service that she can perform for her Goddess is to screw over everyone, at every opportunity. Phobia: I was unaware of what Sunlight was until I was exposed to a particular spell that robbed me of my sight. My eyes were filled with pain and I felt as if my heart would simply leap out of my chest. There was more to it then just the blinding brightness. I felt as if the very caress of that damnable light upon my skin was somehow tainting me. Infusing me with some sort of venom or poison. I scratched at myself till I bled in a frantic attempt to spill that sunlight out of me. Since then I have been inflicted with nightmares of this surface world where elves as bright as that light dance about. I still feel tainted. I have random periods where I become so sick my stomach rebels with these memories. I know I shall never venture to the surface, but way down here in the dark I can sometimes imagine I feel the rays of that burning sun reaching down towards me, as if it would burn away all the darkness I covet and somehow purify me so I looked like those vapid surface elves. "Hush hush now Lover. Didn't you say you wanted to bring me to greater heights of pleasure? Yes, yes you did indeed. No worries now. Devouring you as a spider myself will fill me with the greatest of all Pleasures. Shhh, don't start screaming yet, I've only begun upon your toes after all..." Arachnid Elementalist: Scythra has a affinity for arachnids. As such she can mind speak with them in the manner a druid might be able to speak with natural animals. Smaller spiders obey her will, as they do not have the sentience to resist her. Larger or more sentient spiders can resist her will, but due to her affinity with them they very rarely refuse her commands. Scythra is also imbued with a natural resistance to all spider venom toxins. Poisons from plant bases or serpents will still effect her as they would a normal drow though. Alternate Form: Scythra possessess the ability to transform herself into a Sword Spider once a day. Below is the basic information concerning Sword Spiders. ~ Sword Spiders are fast deadly predators that normally live in jungles, forests, or caves. Sword spiders look like large spiders that have dark blue markings on their bodies, They have two large sword like claws coming from their torso. Unlike most spiders, Sword spiders do not use poison to hunt. Instead they use their claws to tear a victim into pieces quickly. Sword spiders prefer to surprise their victim's, like sneaking up behind them. Sword spiders are very quick, and as such often get in multiple attacks before their victim has a chance to respond. Sword spiders move very quickly, as if they are magically hastened. (WIP) Ritual Sacrifice: Scythra has invested a abnormal amount of time and study into the various ways one might conduct a ritual sacrifice. She prides herself on creating new and horrific rituals in honor of the Spider Queen, and details them in a prized book she intends to one day donate to the High Priestess of Lloth. Arachnid Training: With her gift for understanding and controlling arachnids, Scythra dabbles in training various types of spiders as Guard beasts and mounts. Due to the nature of these spiders, she can only work on one spider at a time, making her trained spiders rare and hard to come by.

A spider does not share... W.I.P. Blind Sight: Grants Blindsight up to a range of 30ft. Renders subject capable of 360 degree's of sight reguardless of concealment. Stick: Glues an object up to 5 lbs of weight to another larger object. Object can be removed with a little bit of force. Spider Skin: Grants the subject a harder skin, resembling a spiders carapace. This carapace grants the subject a small resistance to poisons and acts as a sort of natural armor. Viscid Glob: The spell conjurs a 5 ft diameter glob of incredibly sticky greenish grey goo and sends it streaking at a subject. If a small or medium creature is struck by the goo it is incapable of physical movement aside from speaking. A large creature is merely slowed by the goo and can continue to move. Any creature attempting to pull a small or medium creature from the goo has a chance of becoming stuck themselves until the goo is dispelled. Excavate: This spell creates a passage through solid objects no thicker then 1 ft. The subject matter may be wood, plaster, or stone. This spell does not effect metal or other harder materials. If the depth of the object is deeper then 1 ft, this spell creates a nitch. Successive Excavate spells may be used to create passages through deeper materials. This is a permanant effect. Accelerated Movement: Subjects speed is rendered at a normal swift speed when attempting to do any of the following activities: Balanceing, Climbing, or moving Silently. Daggerspell Stance: This spell requires the subject to be weilding two daggers. The spell ends if at any time the subject ceases to hold a dagger in each hand. While under the effect of this spell, the subject is insightful concerning dual wielding daggers. The magical energy surrounding the daggers allows the subject to deflect the magical energy of many spells targeting the subject. The spell focuses all of the subjects concentration upon the battle, allowing them to turn away most weapon strikes but rendering them incapable of casting other spells.

Developing a Passion... Scythra's earliest memory was of the spider. She could not have been more then a toddler. She was sitting stiffly upon a stool, and it in turn was sitting stiffly upon her nose. Scythra remembered sitting there for hours unmoving. She had been unwilling to disturb the spider, which she firmly believed was napping on her nose. It was one of the first times she remembered smiling as well. Her young lips parted with such a pleased expression. Scythra believed that her first memory was a sign of sorts. Her patience was rewarded when the spider, hours later, stirred and crawled off her on it's own. Since that time she had seemed to form a odd obsession for crawling about in the dungeons of Piranor in search of the holy arachnid. She would skip meals and lessons. Sometimes she would not even bother to return to her bedchambers, choosing instead to curl up amid the dust and webs to slumber. She dreamt of them, dreamt of being one of them. Ah! Such dreams she had! Scythra dreamt of the pure pleasure of ensnaring succulent prey in her webs and draining them of their life. She dreamt of pale skinned elves wailing to their God even as she suckled upon their throats. Such dreams filled Scythra with pleasure, and upon waking she often felt a deep sense of sorrow and dismay at her clumsy four limbs. As the days turned to years, Scythra's reclusive nature rewarded her. Perhaps by a blessing of the Goddess, or perhaps simply due to her keen interest, when Scythra broke her term of solitude she surprised the servants of Piranor. Suddenly she was present in her rooms nightly. She attended studies more religiously then many priestesses did their temple duties. And everywhere she went..a host of spiders seemed to gather. They dangled from windows and lamps. They spun webbing from the tips of her ears. Some even tickled her pleasantly by creeping across her lips and bare shoulders. What the servants found disconcerting most of all, were the soft whispers she often seemed to direct to the gathered arachnids. Even stranger! They responded! The little things skittering at her command, at times larger ones fetched her small objects like extra quills or parchment rolls.

The path one Walks... For certain it was expected of Scythra to become a priestess. It only made sense after all with her obvious blessing. So it was with a great deal of shock and perhaps dismay when Scythra ignored the invitation to join the local temple and become an Acolyte. However had they known of her little blessing? Scythra assumed it was due to talk of the servants and slaves most likely. Shortly after her refusal, Scythra withdrew from sight, though not as completely as she had previously. Scythra spent her budding years in study of magecraft. Accompanied by her ever present spider companions, Scythra had a particularly easy time obtaining the attention of the teachers of the mage school. She received the attention she desired in her studies, and wasted no time or effort in other wasteful practices. She desired no companionship, and disdained those males who thought they might be able to offer her some form of service. Scythra had no need for them. Not now anyways. There was only one thing that baffled her. From time to time items mysteriously appeared around her. Sometimes on her windowsill, sometimes on her dresser or desk. Sometimes on the very pillow she slept upon. It was always a pleasant gift, something that she was disinclined to toss away. As a child she had delighted in the gifts, and would spend a short period of time trying to find the servant that may have left the trinket for her. She soon discerned it was no servant that was leaving her the items. It was a curious mystery. Who was the mysterious benefactor? She still wonders about where her gifts come from, but she has grown rather used to their random appearances and makes a showing of their use whenever possible. Scythra's devotion to the study of magic all too soon flourished. Her choice of school was that of the Elemental path. However, much to many teachers surprise, she choose no common element, but rather that of the Arachnid. There could be no question that the choice was a good one, for the spiders that appeared at Scythra's call were steadily turning out to be larger and larger. Scythra still dreamed her pleasant dreams. Often in more detail and intensity then when she had as a child. One morning when she awoke, Scythra had not realized her dream had ended. She clung to a wall with eight sharply pointed legs. Her black carapace shone like metal in the dim faerie light of her rooms lamp. She saw, with strange clarity, the servant standing and staring in horror up at her. She still believed she was in her dream, and she found it odd that for the first time her prey was dark skinned and not one of the sweet soft white elves. Still, she had no reservation at leaping upon the servant and tearing into it with her mandibles. OH! How sweet the flow of blood was! It was warmer and richer then she had ever experienced in her dreams before. The thrashing of the servant was far more pleasant, for it gave her delight to stab the sharp ends of her legs into that twitching body. She could hear it's heart racing and then fading. She drank deeply and felt a satisfying quenching of some previously unknown hunger.

Awakening the Spider within... It turned out not to be a dream. This she learned to her pure delight when the dead servant did not vanish and her hunger remained sated. She skittered about her room, leaping from wall to wall. Bouncing off her bed and under her desk. It was a entierly new and delightful experience! Ah! She had even managed to startle one of her aunts! That had been a delight as well. Scampering along the wall and leaping down to dart between her legs. The startled shout echoed pleaseingly to her senses. Her joyful exploration did not end for most of the day, as she overheard the servants fearfully relaying to each other their suspicion the spider had eaten her! Well! That was a rumor she needed to put a stop to immediatly! Scythra choose to reveal to all the truth of the Spider in as dominating a manner as possible. She darted into the dungeouns, calling to the creeping arachnids below in the manner she had learned to speak and command them. With a host of spiders as her entourage, Scythra skittered into the Matrons throne room. There, to the surprise of her grandmother and aunts, she allowed the spiders form to melt away and her own form to twist into it's proper shape. Of course...the fact she appeared utterly nude was a surprise to her. She had gone to sleep clothed after all. It only made her grateful that she had bought the spiders with her now, as she mentally nudged for them to crawl over her bare flesh and provide her with some sembelance of covering. Smileing sweetly she apologized to the Matron for her previous activities. As she had awakened changed she had thought herself in a dream. it was only just moments ago that she 'awakened' within and remembered herself. With another small bow she left the room, glowing within at her newest gift. Truely the Goddess smiled upon her!
