Caleb frowned as the stranger fled so suddenly…had…had he walked in on something he shouldn’t have? For a moment he wanted to go after the other male and see what the heck was going on…because even Xi-Wang was acting like something was wrong. This…this hadn’t been his plan.

He swallowed and withdrew his hand from Xi’s, taking a step back. “I didn’t…mean to mess up tonight for you, Xi…”

There didn’t seem to be any part of his boyfriend that even wanted him there…and he wasn’t…laughing about the state of his clothes, he sounded like he was judging him and…

Caleb’s stomach felt like it was in a knot. Finally the brunette just swallowed and faked a grin. “Yeah, so I just…I guess I had just wanted to stop by and see you...” And make you smile, and dance with you and make tonight a really nice one.

He took a few more steps back and let out a sigh. “I’ll uh…I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have…” Shouldn’t have left the lab is what he shouldn’t have done. “I’ll just…see you later, okay? I…Sorry for interrupting.”

Caleb glanced around and quickly began heading back towards the entrance of the gala. This wasn’t the place for him. Maybe he should have just left well enough alone with all of this.

Lilith Calchas - Dress, shoes, hair, clutch

"I mean it though, I really appreciate you coming." She'd already said it a few times that evening, but Lilith made a point to say it a few more times to her cousin. The cousin who was a little over a month older than her, and quite a bit taller than her. Though her heels gave her an extra two inches, bringing her up to around five-foot-six.

It felt a bit odd to be dressed up again, cane folded up in her clutch for now, one arm linked with Matt's, hair done up and dress swirling around her legs. Her father, with his connections due to his security firm, had gotten a few tickets for the fundraiser gala, and though Victor and Rachel had donated to the new hospital as well, they'd instead offered the tickets to family. Given the... recent events, Lilith had felt it was a good time to spend with at least one of her cousins, contacting Matt soon after getting the information from her father.

She'd already confirmed to Matt that, hidden under her wallet and inside a zipped up pocket, her henshin pen was inside the clutch just in case. A slender scar, the tissue still pink, ran along her forearm, and now and then she could swear she felt phantom pains of stitches pulling at her abdomen. Labyrinthite's return had left it's marks on her, physically as well as mentally, and discovering so many of her cousins--Terry, Matt, Cassie--were all senshi? It disturbed her.

Especially when she'd come clean that she'd been doing this since 2009. Cassie had, in particular, not responded well to that.

But here they were. Another event, another public event, and Lilith's grip tightened a bit on Matt's arm as she got used to the sound of so many people chatting and walking and adjusted herself to the flow of sounds in the room. If anything, she at least didn't have any excuses to patrol alone, or attend events alone--and considering how many in Destiny City ended up with youma or agents attacking? It was a small blessing to have people she trusted around again.

"Do you want to get some food? Or mingle? Not sure if you see anyone you know." Just because he'd accompanied her didn't mean that Lilith wanted to keep him from having a good time at the event.

Cabhan Douglas - Outfit

He actually didn't mind working there as a waiter. Keeping on his toes, moving around carrying trays of finger foods or nonalcoholic drinks--due to his age--wasn't a hard job. Not many people really bothered to make small talk with him or pull him into a conversation, but it gave Cabhan the chance to listen. He had extremely few memories of his civilian life, though he did remember he came from old money, and he guessed that, in some theory, people there might have once known him. Not that anyone showed recognition now, as he flitted from group to group, table to table, refilling as necessary or running off to get requested items if needed.

It was a good chance to be out and about, listen to gossip and start to learn who some of the players in the socialite scenes were. Of course, not everyone was--people could have gotten their tickets in a variety of ways, but it still offered a good chance to learn what he could.

That was a lot of what he was doing these days. Learning. Putting together his new life, figuring out what to do with it. Trying to comprehend how to be Rigel, and understand more about the Negaverse--and what exactly it meant to be a senshi there.

He spotted Cass, and waved when he thought he saw her head turn somewhat in his direction, though didn't try to snag her attention for long--he could see she was with with some guy, and for all he knew it might be her date. Didn't want to be rude and intrude.

But his smile flickered into a bit of unease when he looked beyond Case and the guy she was with, to another figure whom was definitely becoming familiar to Cabhan. A handful of bruises and cuts were hidden under bandages and the long sleeves of his uniform, though he didn't wince or cower away when he saw Ilian. But, that being said, he didn't go out of his way to wave and attract further attention. He was there to work, as it was, and he focused on doing just that--smile on his face, friendly and offering people food as they wanted, and answering any requests that came up. Working hard was one of the steps to figuring out his place, right? Wasn't that how it all worked?

Lysander Cadwell - outift

"I have quite a few talents you didn't get to see last time we met." He smirked, snagging a glass of red wine off a passing tray. He took a careful sip, glad that whatever wine they were serving was at least descent. Not quite as good as something from the bar would be but that would mean going to get it. "Besides, I wouldn't be as fun if my ego didn't have things backing it up."

He looked around for a moment at Seth's last question. "I know a few people, acquaintances mostly or people I've met through work." And a few he was pretty sure he'd met in bars but he didn't need to mention that. "And her," Lysander motioned with his glass across the room. "The lady with the wavy black hair, dark blue dress, and the amazing set of curves." He'd spotted Cordelia but hadn't wanted to bother her since she seemed to be distracted with the man she was with.

"You've never had champagne before? How did you manage that knowing Cordy and getting through a New Years?" His cousin always had some around even if no one liked it. It was just a 'thing'. The touch to his hand caught him a bit off guard but he made sure to try not to react. He didn't expect it and shoved away any thoughts about what Arins fingers lingering on his hand meant. He was imagining that.

Looking at where Arin was pointing he nodded. "Yea that would be her. And I think she's with that friend of hers who was at the hospital with her." He couldn't be positive but he was pretty sure that was the same guy.

Benji Rhodes - formal wear

A soft, cheerful laugh came from Benji as he watched the little girl spin around, layer upon layer very much making a swoosh around her, like a little blue flower with a golden curls making it's center. And Benji was an expert on flowers so he knew very much when someone looked like one.

"Yup, I can already tell, your dress is going to be the whooshiest of them all out there on the dance floor! Come on, we'll make all the people want to dance with you, just watch!" Benji had just barely caught himself from unleashing a series of curse words, if only because it came naturally, but he was doing his best! A little princess shouldn't have to listen to such filth after all. He willingly allowed himself to be pulled ahead, and to her curtsy, he bowed, a little lower than before, then took her hands in his.

"One-two-three, okay, that I can do. I don't think I have, but it would be super nice of you to show me. I'm a pretty good student!" With that, he followed her instructions, looking down at their feet as she led him for a few moments before finding her pace and looking at her again.

"Do waltz's let you do the super swishy spins? Ooooh, you said you did Ballet right? Maybe you can do a little ballet spin instead to get your woosh on!"

Basil Whybourne ( outfit )

This was a pickle.

He'd knocked into the waitress, whose tray in turn had gone flying, Basil's hand grappling for it and managing to catch it only by sheer dumb luck. The food had flopped uselessly to the ground, and now the waitress was glaring at him, and Basil had also managed to stumble back into a small human who was also glaring at him, and now there were two people glaring at him, and Basil wasn't entirely sure what to do about it.

".....yes," he said, after a long moment of staring blankly at the snarling waitress. It took him another minute to register that she'd snatched the tray out of his grasp, and yet another to register that he was now standing awkwardly with food all around his feet.

His eyes flickered towards the younger girl. The small human. She looked human, at least. And very small.

Basil cleared his throat.

"There's a shrimp by your foot," he said, gesturing. "Do you want me to get it?"

Archer Wren ( outfit )

His fingers smoothed absently along the stem of his wine glass, Archer's expression remaining as calm and collected as if he were just another attendee of the soiree. He disliked having to lower himself; the inequity of it all grated viciously on his nerves; but he knew how to talk when he wanted to, and he knew how to observe.

It was a part of his job, after all.

"The crowds are relatively overwhelming," said Archer, with a small nod of acknowledgement. "Too many people creates chaos, after all. I'm sure at least half of these people are people who should not even be out tonight, but such is life."

He cast a glance at her, slow and cool, her tone registering as...perhaps, not friendly, exactly, but she hadn't yet run away from him. A smile touched Archer's lips, and he lifted his glass to take a sip again before he answered, taking his time, as though he was considering the question.

"True enough," he said lightly. "I find that being forced into - as you put it - rubbing elbows with the higher ups gives me rug burn. I'd prefer to do my work from the sidelines." A vastly, outrageously untrue statement that was possibly one of the biggest lies that Archer had ever told, but it was not the purpose right now. "I fail to see how acting dewy eyed to the superiors gives anyone a chance to excel if the work isn't up to par."

A pause, and then Archer pushed himself off the wall, extending a hand towards the young woman.

"Archer Wren," he said, by way of greeting. He could feel his phone buzzing in his pocket - no doubt an answer from either the cat or the pup - but Archer ignored it, instead giving the woman in front of him a calm, curious look.

Julian Ashleigh Laurence ( outfit )

Her agreement with his - admittedly unintentional - rambling rant was met with an approving glance from Julian, who's frosty eyes flickered over towards Cerisse once more. She didn't seem perturbed by his analysis, which was mildly surprising, considering that the last time Julian had said what was on his mind to his fellow musicians, he'd received a lot of angry retorts.

Not that it had ever mattered. None of them really understood, anyway.

His gaze followed hers to the conductor, who was still jabbering away. Cerisse's offer had him make a noise in the back of his throat that was somewhere between one of reluctant amusement and satisfaction.

"Perhaps," he said agreeably. "Though I doubt it will unfortunately make much difference. The man is not exactly well versed in taking care of an orchestra and its needs, I'm not entirely sure how someone like him became a conductor in the first place. The whole thing is a shamble."

Caspian Lyons ( outfit )

Caspian was still in the process of making a face at Michael while also trying to make sure that he hadn't knocked some poor girl over when a familiar, pale haired girl came springing up to them, dress swinging from side to side.

"Olga!" said Caspian joyfully, and grinned at her, stupidly thrilled to see her. "Hey! I didn't think you'd come, I'm glad you did though. You'll make this party a lot less stuffy with your presence, just so you know."

Sail-senpai received an amused look while Olga fawned over the dark haired girl, Caspian raising a brow as he mouthed the nickname back to Michael silently, a gleeful look on his face.

A bark of laughter escaped Seth, who cast Lysander a wide grin. "Perhaps later you can show me all of the talents I missed last time," he said lightly, but there was a mischievous look in his eyes. "I vould not object to another demonstration, last time vas very pleasing."

To say the least. Lysander was a very satisfying acquaintance. Seth sipped his wine, eyes moving around the room with apparent interest, though he was listening to what his companion had to say, his gaze following where Lysander was gesturing. The girl with the dark hair made his head tilt.

"She is very beautiful," said Seth, sounding amused. "The curves, as you say, are very nice. I only know few people here myself. The redhead vith the grin," he said, nodding in Andrew's direction. "And the young man over there."

From across the room, Ilian received a wide grin and a little flutter of fingers in greeting.

Steele Moore ( outfit )

They both seemed to be all right. The man that Jada had bumped into only received a fleeting glance, since he seemed to be preoccupied, and Steele was far, far more interested in the state of his admittedly gorgeous companion to pay any attention to the person she'd knocked into.

Unfortunately, he could see Rob staring at him through the crowds of people, and Steele made a face at him before hastily looking back at Jada, beaming a wide smile at her.

"Lawyer, actually," he said grandly, looking - he hoped - the very picture of impressiveness with this statement. "My partner and I just opened up our practice here in the city a few months ago, and we've already done extremely well, I'm very pleased."

Extremely well was an overstatement, but Steele wasn't about to say that. He peered at Jada with a certain amount of interest, his eyes widening, the grin spreading further across his face. A beautiful acquaintance of an already beautiful acquaintance seemed like an excellent and delightful occurrence that he was fortiutous to have stumbled upon.

"I would be delighted to meet anyone you see fit to introduce to me," said Steele smoothly, teeth flashing brightly as he smiled.

Fritz St. James ( outfit )

What had he just said?

The words had left his mouth before Fritz's brain could clearly register them. He wasn't a dancer. He'd danced at parties and galas and fundraisers sure enough while younger, but it had been a long time, and most importantly, Fritz did not do well at all with close physical contact. He could hardly handle touching someone's hand, let alone dancing with them.

But this was Cordy. And she'd been respectful of his boundaries from day one, never pushing him, never forcing him into something that he wasn't comfortable with, always maintaining a careful line between them, even with the little accidental things that had happened. Some days it was almost unbearable, and some days all he could think about was the too light sweep of fingertips against the back of his hand.

She was giving him an out now, he knew. Fritz swallowed hard, his chest feeling tight, his eyes flickering to the offered hand.

Breathe.

After a moment, he lifted his own. Gentle fingers slid along Cordy's, a light grasp, but still touching nonetheless, and a ripple of mingled, twisted emotions fluttered their way through Fritz's stomach. He carefully led Cordy out to the dance floor, not looking at her just yet, face a little flushed, trying to figure out what he was doing, why he was doing it, what on earth was happening.

A breath. Another few steps.

They were on the dance floor now. Fritz turned, letting go of Cordy's hand long enough to shift the positions of their fingers, and then, very hesitantly, placed his other hand on her waist, ignoring the automatic and instinctive desire to yank away and run off.

"Shall we," he said softly, and it wasn't really a question.

Adrien Davids ( outfit )

"A ridiculous amount of people," said Adrien, with a wise nod at the man he'd stumbled into. Yuuri was partially behind him now, curled against his arm, but at least he wasn't looking like he wanted to bolt anytime soon. Adrien smiled down at him, a reassuring look, and squeezed his hand affectionately to remind him that everything was okay, feeling the nervous tugging on his own hand.

"I'm Adrien, by the way," he said brightly, because new people clearly meant new friends. "This is my boyfriend, Yuuri," he added, and though he didn't try to pull Yuuri forward, he nodded towards him, careful to make sure that he wasn't forcing Yuuri into an unwanted spotlight while simultaneously sort of wanting to show him to the world.

"What're you doing here tonight? You just mixing and mingling?" Adrien asked the boy, a smile on his face.

Cassadega Bright - Side View Dress

Cass looked pretty proud of herself and reaction she received when Jericho looked her over. She knew she looked good, because as far as she was concerned, she always looked good. Attractiveness had a lot to do with how a person carried themselves. At Jericho's comment, she peered over at Ilian once again, appreciatively giving him an appraising once over.

The way she looked at him was definitely different than the way she looked at the man she was trying to steal for a dance. Less hungry, more appreciative. "You're right. He cleans up much better than you." She teased, because, really, both boys had cleaned up phenomenally. "Buuuut~" She began in a sing song voice, "boss man should look better."

He was their general after all, shouldn't the man in charge look the sharpest?

Her attention returned to her stolen dance partner. "You don't need talent, you've got me." She'd lead him, easily. But, wasn't that already a bit of what their relationship consisted of?

She did pause, hesitating as she watched the now-alone teen. Normally, Cassadeaga didn't care about the ripples when it came to what she wanted, but it was Ilian and she cared about him and how he felt.

Flattery served Jericho well, earning him Cass's body pressing against his as she stretched up and almost kissed him before drawing back and away without so much as a peck. "Dunno. Who says I brought a date I cared about?" She'd gotten a ticket, promised the man a dance, but she hadn't come with him. "I came for you and Ilian, when I heard you two would be here." She let fingers toy with the buttons on his jacket.

Cabhan caught her attention and she grinned broadly at him, waggling fingers at him and offering him a wink.

"You do look great, but we should probably keep the dance short. Don't want to keep you away from Ils too long." They'd clearly come together and she wanted to keep both of her favorite boys happy, so if that meant she needed to wander off after Ilian turned her dance request down, she would deal.

Sliding her hands over his, she redirected them to her hips and slid her hands up his chest and over his shoulders until her fingers were laced around his neck. "Just follow my lead~"

Bob - outfit

"Up there?"

A spark of mischief gleamed in his eye. "Why bother reaching for the food when the food can reach us?"

He cast a glance one way, then the other. Hopping up to the large white buffet-style table, he made quick work of finding his favorites first. The large tray of shrimp was easy enough to spot, the large cat ignoring the sudden gasp of a nearby patron as he moved to knock almost half of the seafood off from the table, scattering pieces across the carpet down below. The caviar was next, followed by several meats and cheeses just because. It might have been his feline instinct kicking in to push off all the things, but Bob managed to contain himself long enough to hop back down to the carpet.

A few paw strokes and the scattered food was accumulated in a pile beneath the white linen tablecloth, giving both boys access to a small mountain of food while they remained relatively undisturbed.

Tucking part of the linen to the side, it allowed them ample room to people gaze as they ate their floor-dirty food.

Leaning down, he plucked a single shrimp up with a claw and began gnawing on it happily. Outside, a gaggle of women wearing slutty attire passed by, Bob appreciating the view of exposed legs and thigh.

"Look there, kiddo. See how they've got slits going up the side of their dress?" His now free paw gestured towards a particularly skanky lookin' gal in an emerald dress. "The more skin they expose means the easier they are to put out."

Years of trashy television had yet to prove him wrong.

Priscilla Stratford - dress

She outwardly preened as she was introduced, though Trey's mentioning of Laralee sank her spirits yet again. Prissy should have expected the woman to come up in conversation - she would have been a bell of the ball at the current gala, for instance. It wouldn't have been hard to see her, beautiful gown sweeping across the floor as she laughed and made her way through the ranks, greeting and gossiping with every member of socialite society.

Taking another sip of her drink, Prissy couldn't help but wonder if that's how her own mother would have been, taking the pinkette by the hand as she made a point to introduce her beautiful young daughter to Destiny City's finest. Lara had even teasingly referred to her, a time or two, as being the daughter she'd always wanted and had gone out of her way to make Priscilla feel accepted among her peers.

Days of shopping and nights of socializing were gone, however, Prissy herself having been forced to pick out the last gown Lara would ever wear to an affair she'd never remember being the star of.

Forcing her focus back to the conversation and the young man vying for Chase's attention, the young woman smiled as he made a point to compliment her appearance. Whether or not he was simply using her as a tactic to make friends with her boyfriend... well, Prissy didn't mind. After all, attention was attention, right?

"Thank you. I wish I could say it came even close to as fine as the dresses your mother designs; I know Lara and I used to admire them - the summer collection last year was simply phenomenal."

Rob Banks
- lmao ignore this, I just love it

"You bought it just for me?"

The statement seemed to throw him off guard for a moment, his eyebrows coming together for a moment as he stared at the woman, the grin on his face curling up. It probably shouldn't have surprised him that a single mother that had pigs for pets wouldn't have a closet full of evening gowns, but as a party planner he'd assumed she'd have put on one of her many dresses for similar to-dos. The fact she was willing to go out and spend money for an event with him...

Well, as much as it risked a fraction of his masculinity to say it, it was a fairly precious gesture.

Her head rested against his chest and he stilled for a moment, her sweet perfume rising to his nose as his chin dared to rest atop her perfectly fashioned hair.

"I've been thinking about it too."

It was a true statement. Aside from it being a potential goldmine of new clientele, going on yet another date with the beautiful Bellatrix was high on his priority list as well.

Funny too, how not a single one of his business cards had yet to make it out into the public's hands, his own too busily wrapped around his date...

Akio Yoshida - soot

He found himself amused by her politeness, quelling his tongue from correcting her for calling him sir. Sir was meant for men like his father, while Akio couldn't have been more than what, a year or two older than the fascinating girl in front of him?

"And if you did cause me to, what then?"

He gave her a mischievous grin as he sipped at his flute. While spilling anything on his suit would be crushing, it wasn't nearly as world ending to the young man as it would have been upon his arrival to the States. Times had changed and with it, Akio's sense of reasoning. Staining a shirt in exchange for meeting a beautiful woman? Completely and utterly worth it.

Her dress complimented her hair, though he couldn't help but wistfully associate the cut of the gown with that of a favorite mermaid of his. Perhaps that was the reason he felt so inclined to continue the conversation? Or was it the innocence in her eyes that convinced him to be a little devilish and tease the poor thing - the only thing Akio was certain of was that the night had suddenly gotten much more interesting.

"How would we go about fixing the problem?"

Tristan Lestrange - Outfit

Tristan felt out of place in his suit and bowtie that Fiona had insisted on taking him shopping for. Once again, the woman's kindness and generous heart had overwhelmed him and he hadn't been able to say no. Fiona had received the tickets but for one reason or another, was unable to attend because she had other matters - finals maybe or business, he didn't know. It wasn't in his nature to pry and despite his attempts at trying to assure her that, no, he really didn't need to attend, it was fine because he didn't have a date, no really -

She'd convinced him to go on her behalf.

He didn't like the fact that his shirt was buttoned up all the way, bowtie feeling like a constricting snake around his neck, but he needed to dress nice and there would be no loosening of the ties until after the event had concluded. It would be fine, he was sure. Though, he wished, very desperately that he had the courage to ask his one friend to attend with him. Or, that he could have hid behind his camera and been a behind the scenes man instead of an attendee.

The event already had a photographer and he felt it would be rude if he even considered trying to bring his camera with him, even if the beautiful gowns and nicely tailored suits would have made for a great photos and maybe even a nice test layout. It didn't matter really, because it would do him no good to continue to hide behind the comfort of his camera instead of trying to embrace the new life he was slowly, but surely attempting to build.

His suit was pressed, hair combed back to keep the curls from being unruly and his face was clean shaven, a straight razor shave courtesy of some barber Fiona's father used to go to. All in all, he felt like he was dressed sharply enough even if the bowtie probably knocked him down a peg or two. But...bowties were cool and suited him much better than a proper tie.

Too bad he wasn't in any sort of state where he felt like he could easily mingle, nerves and concerns getting the better of him. He needed to shake it really and he was trying just not being very successful. So he did what any rational man would do when he felt like he needed to loosen up, he went towards the bar. Maybe some coke and whiskey would help soothe him. Or whatever they were offering.

Yeah, that sounded like the best idea. He had no idea what his tolerance was like but...a drink to calm his nerves would be fine. Tristan knew that he was overthinking everything, but he wished that, at the very least, Fiona had been able to come to keep him company. Though, he really needed to stop relying on the redhead so much.

Cerissé Belcourt (Outfit)

"You're kidding."

She glanced back to Julian, then back to the conductor. Now she was personally offended on Julian's behalf. They had a perfectly talented violinist put into the hands of a fool of a conductor and he was being made to stand around?

Quietly, she handed off the glass (whether he took it or not was apparently not up to him) and Cerissé Belcourt made very purposeful strides across the floor to where the conductor was standing. While from across the way it would be difficult to pick up the exact words she was saying, it would be very obvious what the intent was. Mostly because of the looks she was getting from the other people around the man.

Bottom line: She was being straight to the point and ready to n** at the jugular of 'Seriously, you weren't hired on the chat with people and there are musicians who need to know what the actual plan is, not some vague wishy-washy break that may be 5 minutes, may be 50, are they getting food or are they stretching our their hands and wrists and getting a drink of water, are you K I D D I N G M E.'

But she at least seemed poised about it all, never going into grand theatrics. She was, in fact, gone only a minute before she returned for her glass. Cerissé didn't offer any details on what sort of verbal lashing she'd just awarded.

Chase Black

There was a slight narrowing of amber eyes as Trey complimented - flirted? with his girlfriend. There was enough of the beast inside him still present that he had to actively suppress the growl that tried to rumble out his mouth by drinking the champagne he had intended to give his girlfriend. It was a temporary fix, bubbly liquid burning his throat on the way down. Logically, Chase knew that Trey was only trying to appease him and his date, because he was here for information and getting sent away would not do him any favors, but he was a bit possessive by nature and had half a mind to brush Priscilla's hair back to reveal the mottled mark he'd left on her neck the other day that concealer failed to hide.

He didn't, but the temptation was hot and present in his belly.

"Mother was quite the social butterfly," Chase replied, absently and still sounding very uninterested. "An excellent compliment to my...unapproachable father." Samuel would always be a raw wound, but the man's icy nature had been well known. He was an excellent businessman but a difficult man to be around. "But, she always cooed over your mother's designs."

There was a shrug, because he supposed he was at least trying to make conversation, even if his arm slid out from Prissy's to wrap around her waist possessively and pull her against him so that their hips - or her hip and his thigh - were pressed together. "Perhaps we can arrange a viewing of her latest looks." Surely, Prissy would like that.

"Or, alternatively, she - you could assist me in preparing some sort of event in her honor." Fashion show, masquerade, auction...Possibilities were endless.

Rory wasn't equipped to handle the flirtiness that came with her new, sudden companion. Truthfully, the teenager wasn't equipped to handle flirty in general, but she was determined to rise to the occasion. At the very least, she was adaptable and she could adjust, even if she took some poor steps in the beginning. "E-excuse me?" She squeaked, blinking several times before she felt like she could find a rhythm to match his.

The grin he offered her caused her heart to stutter in an oh like moment. It was devilish and charming and certainly implied that he was up to no good but...Rory found that she couldn't look away from his grin or keep herself from smiling back at him, a little more brightly, some of her shyness dissipating. Painted nails, a color matching the train of her dress, tapped against her champagne glass as she looked him up and down, gaze lingering on the front of his shirt that wasn't damp.

Which mean everything was a bluff. That she could handle, she was certain.

"I would have to insist that we take the appropriate measures to assure it didn't stain." Her eyes flicked over to the liquid in his flute. It was pale enough she didn't think it would stain. "And hope that you wore a secondary shirt, on the off-chance this one wasn't salvageable."

Aurora realized how her words came off after they left her mouth and had to swallow the automatic, I wasn't implying you'd need to undress, oh goodness I put my foot in my mouth that threatened to spill. Instead, she tried to stand a little straighter, shifting her hold on the glass she wasn't drinking from. "Or, I would apologize profusely and hope there was an appropriate way to make it up to you." Yeah, that sounded better.

Matt Duffy Outfit

His eyes glanced over the crowd of people a few he had recognized from work while most he didn’t have any particularly idea who they were not that it mattered to him. Sarah hadn’t told him that the family had donated a sizable amount to the creation of the hospital, nor told him that she had put his name down to be the attending guest until a few days ago though he had suspected she had done so he could not object when she called him. It was not unusual for him if he had plenty of notice to find a way to make something else appear on the schedule, something more pressing than attending these boring affairs. At least he was allowed to invite any guest of his choosing and before Sarah could even mention one of her friends again and invite them he told her he had someone in mind.

Of course it meant arranging clothes for the Kyle to wear, but Matt was glad that he had picked out something that suited him better than letting him drag whatever sort of wrinkled shirt he had shoved away in the back of his student closet. There ad been some concern that he would have said no but he had seemed ecstatic when he gave him the ticket and just as thrilled when he arrived to pick him up. So far it had been going well much to Matt’s surprise.

Turning to him he gave a large charming smile holding out a hand to his guest. “So what would you like to do first tonight, food and drink or dance?”

Mi-Hi Harrington - [outfit ref (sans upper jacket)]

It seemed that a lot of people had had the same idea about checking out the buffet as the food table was crowded - as in super crowded.

Still it hadn't stopped Mi-Hi from gamely trying to get closer, even though at 4'11" attempting to wade through the mass of people had been easier said than done.

She had almost reached the edge of the table where a stack of plates had been set up when someone knocked into her causing her to start to stumble awkwardly forward a couple of steps, until a hand reached out to steady her.

The source of the hand was a dark-haired man and Mi-Hi shook her head slightly at his apology "It's okay" she said, green eyes noting that he was wearing a shirt that appeared to have constellations "Your shirt is pretty neat" and then because it occurred to her that her comment might sound a little weird added quick "And thank you for catching me."

And she meant it because if she had tripped in her heels then it would have been kind of awkward and really embarrassing.

She hadn't noticed the older brown-haired man with him at first but she nodded at his question "Yes I'm..." she started before another voice cut in.

The source was a woman who seemed to know both of the men, although Mi-Hi couldn't help but be a little curious at the name 'Sail Senpai.'

She was a little startled when the woman turned to her, although her lips curved up in a slight smile "Oh I'm Mi-Hi" she said "And thank you - I like your dress too" because it was gold and sparkly and pretty."

Ashley Williams - [outfit ref - dress/ shoes]

A few people had called out greetings, although they hadn't been anyone that Ashley was familiar with and so she had pasted on a few polite smiles in answer.

Her smile had turned more genuine as one of her classmates stopped by to talk to her, although Ashley had turned down the offer to go check out the buffet table because a quick glance over had been more than enough to confirm that the food table was packed.

She was back to being bored however, enough so that a part of her was contemplating braving the crowd and seeing if she could catch up to her classmate, when a voice spoke up.

The accent sounded familiar, for all that it was a while that she had heard one "Hi" her smile was as genuine as the one that she had given her classmate as she reached out to shake the offered hand "Nice to meet you Austen - I'm Ashley - Ashley Williams."

Adding "I hope you don't mind me asking but are you from the UK by any chance?"
