As Guitian waited, though, his gaze wandered, and then it settled on a particularly bright section of leaves in the tree nearby. Nothing in the Barrens was so resolutely green; it thrilled him still to see all of this. Only as he drew closer he realized that it wasn't just bright leaves that had caught his eye. Buried beneath them was one of those elusive yellow blooms. "Friend," he called, in the bird's direction, and it chirped sternly in response. "No - look! There are young leaves here, and - "
He'd pulled back some of the branches hiding the flower from view as he'd spoken, using his snout as leverage, and that made the bird notice what was happening, too. It fluttered over and snipped that flower off, too. Guitian picked it up and tucked it in before beginning to move onward.

They journeyed onward as a pair, once the bird had retrieved a little branch of the bright green leaves to nibble on as Guitian walked. Guitian had twined it into his mane, and he walked now with a bird perched there, too, eating at it slowly. It was fortunate his new friend was small.
The breeze and ample cover from the canopy above made the day cool and balmy. Occasionally Guitian could see other creatures all going about their day. He was one of them, he realized. Everyone really just co-existed out here. That knowledge, bright and optimistic, made up for the fact that he was having trouble spotting more flowers. It was fine, he consoled himself: he'd gathered plenty already. Surely the rats would be grateful, no?

"I need to stop for a drink," Guitian said eventually, shaking his head gently to communicate to the bird. He wasn't sure how much it understood.
He could tell from the lightened load that most of the leaves had been eaten, though, and the bird resettled - gingerly, testing with a little foot first - upon his horn. Smiling, Guitian ambled closer to the river to take a well-deserved swallow of water, and then a few more for good measure. Water in the Homewood was sweet, he thought, making sure to keep an eye out for the presence of more flowers.

Betty was find it harder and harder to find the color flowers the dire rats needed. She had seen a couple of other nouls even leave with a dire rat. "They must have become good friends will pick flowers." she thought with a smile. Betty Bay could see that being a great thing for each of the species. Vykeli was healing in more ways then one. Turning her attention back to her task she realized that she still had not found a single yellow flower. It was kind of strange since yellow flowers where pretty common a color. Looking back a forth she wondered if maybe all the yellow ones had already been snatched up earlier. "That's what i get for being so late." she said in good humor. As a dire rat ran passed Betty she called a to it since it had a yellow flower in it paws. "Hello may i ask you where you found that yellow flower?" Sadly in it rush to get the flower back the dire rat must not have heard her and just kept on going. With a shrug Betty scanned the meadow for the allusive yellow flower.

Day 6 Roll 1
As he waited he scanned the area carefully. He saw nothing out of the ordinary. The feeling still persisted that he was not alone.
He decided to glance up and saw what appeared to be glowing red eyes! He was taken aback for a few moments. He stared at those eyes then he realized they were not glowing it was the light making them appear that way.
It was possible this was the rat from the journey or it could be something else entirely. Not wanting to make a move without knowing for sure he started to think of a plan to draw whatever was there out in the open.
Taking notice of how that tree was positioned he thought that if he corcled back around and came up towards the tree in a direct line he would be able to see who or what was there. Only downside was the creatire could also see him and would have a clear view.
Now he was debating what he should do. He was tired of being the mouse in this game and wanted to show the cat what he was made of.

Day 6 Roll 1
His mind turning over on what to do. He was not confrontational but he was hitting his limit with this. Every time he was alone something happened. It could be something as simple as a noise that he would easily dismiss. The past few weeks have been full of these constant interruptions.
He knew something was toying with him and he was determined to find out who and why.
He wanted to devise several.plans to see which would be the best course of action to take.
This had to be done carefully and precise. He was not wanting to make an enemy. Although from the strange things happening to him he may already have a enemy for reasons unknown.

One sprig of jasmine safety in her bag, Minx paused, checking to see if anyone had spotted her. She marveled that somehow, here she was, a dire rat, standing in the middle of a party in Homewood. And no one was stopping her. In seasons past being this bold would have been a death sentence. She couldn't help but smile. Were pickings about to become this easy? If the noulicorns would just let her wander in and out of Homewood she wouldn't have to worry much over where her next meals were coming from ... Or would this only be possible during big shindigs like this?

Minx was careful to not spend too much time lost in thought. The more she could stuff into her pack, the better. Even if she could easily return, it still took time to get back to the Ruins. And the Ruins certainly didn't have easy pickings like this. Unlike you like junk from the others. And rusty both. Lots of stuff, not a lot of it having any real value. And it certainly wasn't tasty. Over the general sounds of the party Minx heard music drifting. She shook her head. So many luxuries! Who had time to learn to make sounds like that, just for enjoyment?

Nothing was quite visible in the water, obviously, but as Guitian got up, his companion released its grip on his antlers. Startled, he turned to watch the arc of its flight through the air, only to understand when it lit on another red bloom. "You're observant," he praised, as it flew back with the flower. He wound it into his mane again and kept traveling.
His plan was to make it to the clearing this wind was coming from, and then travel back. His mane was already quite heavy with flowers, after all, and he didn't want to head too far. He sped up just a little as he walked, though it was certainly a walk rather than a trot. He still needed to see those flowers, after all.
