Day 2:

Roll 1

Arabryn happily followed the rat to collect the flowers. The smells that assailed his nose were sweet and fragrant. The sights around him were beautiful as everyone was busy setting up things for the festival.

Walking past a long table he noticed drinks ready to be served he as going to ask for one but decided against it as he agreed to help get more flowers for the festival.

Not wanting to appear unfriendly he cleared his throat and asked as casually as he could "I do not want to appear rude or ignorant for the lack of a better word but would you be so kind as to tell me about your community? I would love to know everything you would allow me to know"

As he awaited an answer he saw several flowers growing on a bush and walked over to pick them. He was careful not to ruin the stems and picked several of each color to be fair. He was not sure if any color was needed more than another.

He noticed when he began talking to the rat his nose twitched a little bit. It did not seem in agitation just a response. He was trying to decipher what it meant when he realized he had more flowers than he could handle. He put them down and called out to his companion. "I have enough I am ready when you are!"

Watching he saw the rat scurry around in very quick movements collecting several flowers in different colors and carrying them back to a pile. Arabryn wondered how he would carry them as he watched. Suddenly the rat seemed satisfied he had enough and began to pick them up in sections and lay them opposite to the other kinda like upside down. Arabryn was shocked, it seemed the rat had a system to carry more than he should be able to!

User Image Mira searched another area of the flower fields. Seems things were getting picked left, right and center. Standing up tall on her claws, the Cockatrice scooted through the legs of one of the nearby Nouls to pick up a red flower to add it to her collection. She wondered just how many more she could find today. If this were it, it was three more then she had when this all started...

Maybe I should have asked you what you needed before picking all these flowers." The dire rat simple passed out the unneeded flowers out to other passing nouls. "The colors we need are pink yellow red and blue. But each dire rat has ones they want more or less of." "Oh I see well I will work on gathering only those colors form now on. Thank you so much for your help. I am glad I did not pick to too many." She said with a smiled at the kind dire rat as she followed after another dire rat that had passed by her.

"Nope you are beautiful but not the right color." With a smile she moved over to another patch of flowers which contained all pick flowers. "Perfect." She picked the biggest pink flower and took it back to the stack. "This is way better. And much more helpful." The kind dire rat said to her as she came back. "Oh great I am glade to be more of a help and less of a problem." Betty smiled happily as she headed back out for another flower.

Apparently it didn't matter much where Guitian looked for flowers. The rats, they explained, were as new to Homewood culture as he was.

Guitian supposed that was true, and in a way, as a noulicorn, Guitian probably fit in better than even they did. That didn't mean he felt at home here yet, though. It certainly was lush, he thought, pulling a lonely red bloom from the vine where it lived to tuck into his mane again. His tail had a more delicate grip - but his control over it was less precise, and the word grip was loose. He'd take care, as he searched, to identify a better way of plucking these flowers.

He was in luck, though - there was another purple flower tucked behind some twigs. It was a little bruised, but its petals were all intact, so it should be fine, right? It'd hardly be noticeable, anyway, when it was surrounded by others of its kind.

He deliberated but leaned down decisively to snap it off its vine. He laid this one out on a low-hanging branch nearby first, though, to smooth out the petals, and then he lifted it into his mane with the other two he'd found earlier. This whole endeavor - seeking out flowers, that was - was easier than Guitian had thought, though perhaps that was due to his mentality. He was accustomed to the barrens, where blooms like these were impossible to find.

Guitian'd only just turned around when he noticed a second red flower, which had been just a snout's-length away from his hind foot. He'd need to tread more carefully in the future, apparently - the purple flower he'd picked was salvageable, but this one wouldn't be, if he'd managed to step on it by accident. He bent his knees carefully and lowered his head to take it, along with a little bit of stem, so that it could be attached to other things more easily.

He twined it into his mane again, just next to the other red one, and took a quick scan of his surroundings before moving on.

Minx thought to best to not snatch a second rose. She had a feeling that a flower as valuable as a rose must have someone watching it, even at a party like this. Who would leave such lovely loot without a supervisor, after all! It could fall into all types of paws. Minx grinned. Like her paws! She rubbed them together, while scoping out other arrangements. What else could she dry and then trade ... It was important to make the best of this, and select the most valuable flowers possible. Dandelions wouldn't net her much of anything, so she ignored the next nearest display ...

Then her eyes came to rest upon another lovely floral centerpiece. This one featured some luscious lilies. Minx wasn't exactly sure what they would be useful for, but they certainly were pretty. She crept forward, trying to keep the shadow, or keep under other objects. For some reason the festival goers seemed totally oblivious to the need to keep watch! Minx knew that if you didn't keep a keen eye out someone was likely to nick all your good loot. Well, too bad for these sods. They weren't watching the good stuff, Minx was going to make sure it ended up in better paws.
