There was .. a corn maze? Maybe he could convince the Axew that it was worth trying. As the dinosaur failed once more at smashing the largest pumpkin comparable to himself, Jaxston managed to rope a vine around him to keep him from running off.
"Hey! Hold on," The Snivy chimed, earning a sour look from the Axew. "You want to try the corn maze instead? Take a break from the pumpkins," Quixote made a bit of a face at the suggestion. "That doesn’ sound exciting…," That didn’t sound nearly as fun to him and Jaxston panicked a moment. "It will be! I promise! It’s like… an adventure! There might be monsters and stuff to fight? Pumpkin monsters that need crushing!" The other pokemon stared long and hard a moment before flailing his arms out. "Okay! Yay! Crushing monsters!" Well okay that was… better? As they progressed to the next level of the haunted house, Alex was less than pleased if his squeaky tone was anything to go by. "What? Don't tell me you're scared." She asked, narrowing her eyes a little in amusement. She wondered how long he'd be able to keep up this tough act before he broke down like a baby. Poor kid. She supposed she could give him a break. "Trust me. These haunted houses are nothing but total phonies. They're filled with paid volunteers and ghosts and it's all just an act. Nothin's actually gonna hurt you. They'd have so many liability issues if they did." She shook her head. "Honestly I kinda go through 'em just for the prizes, but it's also kinda interesting to see what they do. Kinda like a play, except you get to be in it." She explained. "...Look, nothing's even happening right now, but if it makes you feel any better, you can keep holding my arm or whatever if you really want to." She didn't want him whining the whole time, it really killed the vibe.

Alex paused for a moment, and realized suddenly that he must be really smart and not even know it, because he added, "Cup Noodle wasn't with me back then, so that's why he's still with me." He said it with confidence, like he'd done it that way on purpose. "Tanabata was a lot different though. It wasn't scary at all. I mean, it wasn't supposed to be scary." Whew, nice save Alex.

Az said his pokemon's names were amazing, to which Alex replied, "Right!?" She had just made his day, and for a moment he forgot about the spooky haunted house they were in. "Well Pop Roxx is Roxy. Oh, uh, she's the orange one. Patches is the bul- bulb- green one." Wow this was harder than he thought. He knew he should have looked up what their names were, but he just didn't think it was important before since he'd given them new, better names. "Chica is um... the y-yellow one. Moon Pie is the bird...Gusher is...the turtle..."

"What? Don't tell me you're scared." Alex silently chuckled to himself. Hehe, then I won't, and you'll never know. Of course, now he was thinking of the haunted house again and was maybe standing a bit closer to Az than before even if he knew it would probably bother her. What she said made him feel a bit better, but... well, it wasn't scary because he was worried about getting hurt or anything.
"Uh, okay, yeah. It makes it easier since it's hard to see," he said, trying to explain away the reason he was back to holding on to her arm. He was a bit more hesitant than he usually was, but he did eventually speak up, "Are things supposed to be scary if they'll hurt you?"

Finding herself with only her Pokemon to keep her company, Temperance opted to letting everyone follow along with her. Epona seemed to have calmed down and was silently walking at Temperance's side as they explored this area of the Carnival. From side to side this section was covered with various rides, all with a 'spooky' theme of sorts. A tradition like Halloween wasn't one celebrated in her home country, they did however have various harvest festivals and a major fall festival, which she was always prudent on attending, as it was sort of like... a festival to end all festivals, and the last of it's kind until spring. One from outside her country would think it were a Renfair, Statefair and the 4th of July all wrapped into one big celebration.
Needless to say, some of the rides were fairly familiar, though she hadn't ridden on any rides since she was very young. After a certain age, riding rides wasn't quite 'princess-y' enough for her image. Din, seemed to pick up on Tempernace's forlorn feelings and floated over, resting her front nubs on the ninja princess' shoulder. 'Hey, you're not a princess right now, right? I mean, technically you are, but your meant to be incognito, so why not live a little?' Temperance gave out a chuckle, glancing over to Din as they walked. "You're right. Perhaps I should enjoy myself... I don't think we'll be here forever, and another opportunity like this might never happen." She mused, stopping to look around. "Hmm... oh, that looks fun." Holding up a finger the blonde pointed towards a large sign signalling the entrance to a 'corn maze'. Din grinned playfully, tapping Temperance's shoulder. 'Well, your the boss, boss. Let's get lost.' The sprite chuckled. Temperance nodded, quickly leading the way into the Maze.

The small group had made some headway through the maze rather quickly, only to end up at a dead end finally, though it wasn't so bad, as the dead end provided a small plush of a Cacturne. 'A board when we entered mentioned these were all over the place.' Din provided. 'We can keep'em or turn them in for prizes.' The sprite added. Temperance nodded, placing the plush into her bag. "Then let's keep an eye out for more of them, shall we?" She replied, smiling under her mask. Turning back, the group continued on through the maze, with Daphnes and Azalev keeping an eye out on the ground for more plushies, while Temperance, Din and even Epona kept an eye out for some hanging from the corn stalks. King Zora followed along diligently, though he didn't seem all that interested in the maze itself, in fact the Seahorse seemed bored.

While no more plushes showed up, it became evident that they were coming close to the first checkpoint already, which was a tad disappointing. Temperance was sure they'd of ended up lost far more than they had. But still, she wasn't going to complain, if they allowed her, perhaps she'd try another route and see if that got her more lost than the route she'd taken initially. A sign also mentioned that depending on which route you picked at the beginning your experience might differ. Hopefully it did, either way the first checkpoint was likely just around the corner, or perhaps that was what she was meant to think?

Turned out, Temperance was correct in her assumption. Within a few feet the small group had managed to reach the first checkpoint. There, an attendant told them they could either keep going or exit here and collect their prize. Temperance declined, as she was more than willing to go the extra mile, or in this case 3o feet to fully complete the maze. After all, they'd gotten through so easily thus far. What was another half hour or so? With that decided, the ninja continued through the maze.
