 The cough drew his attention quick enough, and Vüsala gave the baphomet a fleeting smile. Centering his attention on his new date, he took the proffered hand and shook it.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Vüsala," he introduced himself. "This has been an interesting experience. Apologies for the lack of attention, but my daughter is somewhere in the crowd. I was just hoping to keep an eye on her." He'd spoken of his daughter first with each of these dates in the hopes that anyone who had issues with children would be warned and they wouldn't have to waste one another's time. He should probably expand a bit, something for conversation?
"I don't normally have time for these things, I'm attending university for medicine and I work as a volunteer firefighter in addition to raising Kanda." Not a shred of apology. Eventually that schooling would turn into 'I'm a doctor,' but for now he was merely studying. Idly, he started messing with one of the bags of chocolates.

xAsher gave Vusala an honest smile as the other introduced himself. The daughter comment made Asher turn back to the crowd to see if he could spot a youngin. No such luck since he really didn’t know what to look for. Instead he turned back to Vusala with a patient smile. “That’s alright. I can understand being distracted when trying to keep tabs on children.” Asher was amazed by all that Vusala was currently responsible for. “Wow, that is a lot on your plate. That is very impressive.” Asher shook his head with a kind smile. “Definitely makes my work load look like a jakelope hill despite what my friend claims.” He laughed and made note to mention this to said friend later. “I’m happy you found time to join us here.” “... So with all that, do you have time for fun or relaxing?” Asher was curious as Vusala seemed to have the same problem he did: ‘all work and no play’. At least, according to his friend. Random Nobody 13 sorry for any errors and lack of the accent marks on your character’s name. I will be editing this post later just for grammar and formatting.

She smiled as he chuckled it sounded genuine not forced like a few others she had met tonight. "Mine seems to like my ankle, calf area for some odd reason. Wish I knew why seems like a odd spot to me.She moved her leg to try to get the Skyfish to move just a bit since it seemed to want to cling to her and it felt really tight. "I agree mine seems to be an attention seeker and it seems to be a clingy one at that! I am in school for Music but to be honest I want to open up a small shop that sells items that are Solstice related. I love that time of year, singing is just a hobby I don't think I have a great voice just one that is nice to hear"She tilted her head to the side as he talked about magic, it seemed as though he was unsure how she would take that bit of information. "Magic? That is interesting, I have always wondered what those classes entailed. I know I am not magically inclined at all, but that subject interests me greatly. As for these speed dates, I agree more time should be given if one pair is getting along great. How is anyone supposed to get to know someone in that small amount of time?" It wasn't her fault, this just hadn't turned out at all the way he had expected it to. Well, at least he wasn't alone. I might have gone into that myself if I wasn't so attracted to magic." He knew that he could do quite well on any non-wind instrument. And he did like to listen to orchestra music at times when he was bored or needed to relax. "Mine can't seem to decide where to go." He said, sending a glare at the red skyfish who continued to ignore him and slither around, trying to find another place to curl. "If you ever want to see some magic though, I'd be happy to show you." After all, if he couldn't even show anyone what he was doing, then what was the point? He did love an audience when he had the time. "I've exchanged contact information with my other "dates" so far so we can do the same if you wish to talk more after this. I can't guarantee anything past friendship." Really, he had no use for romance now, but this was a good way to get into contact with others and socialize a bit more.

The corners of Vüsala's mouth quirked up as the baphomet immediately turned to try to see his kid. Considering he couldn't see her at this point, and they didn't look a thing alike, it wasn't a surprise when he turned back to him without catching sight of her. He was fairly confident she'd snatched a bag of candy from one of the other contestants' tables. One of the hosts wandering through nearly got smacked with his tail as he shifted it and he gave them a look that sent them scattering.
"She's. . .not really a child anymore. More like a near teen than anything. At the very least she's growing well." It gave him a sense of pride to talk about her growth. She'd been quite sickly as a child and while she still had bouts of illness, she was sick less and less as she grew. It likely helped that since he was studying medicine, he knew a few tricks to keep healthy.
"Work is work. Don't disregard your own by comparing it to mine. Not everyone can handle the amount I do." Vüsala was quick to cut that back. Everyone had different levels of what they could and couldn't do and dismissing what you could do as a small amount just made it that much harder to get done what you could. Now. . time for fun? Well, that would suppose on your definition.
"I enjoy spending my time with Kanda, though I wouldn't call it relaxing. I like to make sculpture and glass pieces when I get the chance. Haven't for awhile now, but maybe with Kanda growing up a bit I can indulge more often until my family arranges a mate for me." He had no doubt they were going to, eventually. It was strange though that they hadn't contacted him to even start the process by now though.

Her new friend decided it had enough of her ankle and decided to wander to the other leg and cling on the outside of her calf. She sighed as she stretched her ankle out, it hurt but felt good at the same time. Gale did not seem to care for the Skyfish that is following him to much, maybe it was because it was all over the place. Never judge so quickly she thought. "Show me magic? Would love to see that, and yes of course I would be happy to exchange information so we can remain in touch as friends. I came to this event hoping to get outside my comfort zone and make new friends I was not expecting anything to happen to be frankfully honest" she said truthfully. "Would you like to put your information in my phone and I do the same or would you prefer I write it down? I know some people are "funny" about their phones and I would never dare touch unless given permission." with that she reached into her pocket and withdrew her phone awaiting Gale's answer. Vüsala found himself idly messing with a small cone of cotton candy that someone wandering by gave him. He wasn't often in the mood for sweets, but at the moment the taste was rather pleasant. He offered a small piece to Asher out of politeness. Most of the time he'd have eaten a couple pieces and then handed the blob up to Kanda. He didn't feel it would be polite to do to his new companion though, so he just ate a couple pieces and then moved to put it away.

xAsher could see the fondness and pride in Vüsala's words and eyes. It was clear his daughter meant a lot to him. " Her growth is thanks to our wonderful caregiving, I'm sure." Asher smiled. " Oh, I know," Asher remarked when it came to the topic of work. " My friend just likes to say I take on too much. I feel I take on what is needed." He shrugged. " We all know our own limits but push when we have to." " A preteen can be very taxing, but also rewarding, I hear. Soon enough you will have time for your art again." Asher adjusted his posture at Vüsala's mention of his family pre-arranging a mate. " Is that not why you're here?" The cotton candy arrived out of nowhere in Asher's opinion, but he accepted Vüsala's offered piece. When trying to think of his own hobbies, tit for tat in conversation, he came up short. " I think my friend might have a point about me working too much, though... I wouldn't even know what to say was my way of having 'fun'." Asher let out a short laugh at this. " I guess I gotta find a hobby."
