Personality: Even as a foal, Casanova was gregarious and not at all shy around fillies. He loved being at the center of attention and plying at the heartstrings of other soquili - even if it was for more of an "aww" reaction than anything else at that point.
He has a lot of his father's ego and knows precisely how cute he is. Casanova is inquisitive and bright and has a fondness for poetry and other fine things. He likes having a lot of friends - both people to learn from as well as those that enjoy being shown a good time.
As an adult, Casanova has grown all the smoother and more experienced with age. His interest in mares has matured and he lives for the game of seduction. He prides himself in his skill with words and subtle gestures. He takes a great deal after his father, but is more willing to get emotionally invested in mares... just lo be it for him to get attached to just ONE mare. He knows how to make mares feel beautiful and special. He loves mares, in the true sense of the word - and sees no reason why it needs to be exclusive. Love makes one immortal and live on in the memory of others. However, he doesn't just use mares, he does respect them and thinks that they are perfectly able to be the equal of a stallion - all the more reason he loves their company. He sees an elusive mare who is not interested in him as a personal challenge. A mare that is hard to get captures his attention, and is likely to leave him dwelling.

Rohannon is also a little quixotic. He claims that his butterfly wings stem from a distant fey origin, and that therefore a mystic nobility runs in his veins.

While raised like most soquili amidst nature, specifically, a nestled grove in the woods, sheltered by the winter snows in which he was born, he grew up to tales of nobility and heroism from his father, Rohannon. Rohannon believed in his heart that he and his mother were estranged nobility, whose lines (and wings) were evidence of a fey ancestry generations back. Jausserande had no reason to argue these claims, and clung to the chivalric ideals and stories of great battle. That despite the fact he was but a flutter foal, that he had greatness in his blood. He seized more on his potential for great adventure and great deeds than the supposed noble fey rights of his birth.

Unlike her elder brothers like Jausserande who have taken the stories of their father as a banner of inspiration, to be a brave and noble fey noble, Hermonicet has taken it as entitlement: that she is a truly rare flower to be envied by all, but truly possessed by none. She will use her looks to gain influence, and is delighted by inspiring jealousy or conflict over her. She is quite vain, and views her regard of another, recognition of their presence as a gift. She is not without her own strength, but most of it is through force of presence rather than hoof. She incites others to her protection, and values her influence and that power above all else. She will not tolerance weakness in a mate - and will only select the most influential - a king among stallions - or the most powerful sorcerer - as consort. And if they prove wanting, she will move on without a moment's regret.

Personality: Marconius is always exceedingly formal and polite, however, that does not mean that he is nice. He will weave his words to insult you to your face if he does not respect you, but almost make it sound like a compliment. He is scheming and conniving, but always nothing but proper while he does it. Strong harpy blood runs through his veins even if it is not apparent in his physical features. And while he doesn't have a harpy's omnivorous tastes, he has competitive drive and a predatory look at life. He is driven, and a just a little bit off. It is important to him to always look good and seem like he's in control. But his formality and control is a thin veneer over a high-strung nature. He might be prone to cracking if things consistently do not go his way. He's a little bit fabulous, and more than a little villainous.

Pooka would find him QUITE entertaining, and he would play along with her games, trying to manipulate her right back - seeing what her lies and games really are - seeing how much she can toy with her "opponent" - he'd play along, and put the twist back on her - ultimately impressing both of them. Personality: Lothario is a mare's stallion. Unlike Casanova, who truly loves mares and wishes to surround himself with them, Lothario lives for the chase and not so much the lasting emotional connection. He is the eternal playboy and lives in the moment. He is skilled with sweet words and seduction, but the words to him are just that - tools of the trade. He is also fully aware of how handsome he is and is very confident in his dealings with others, never liking to let the mask that he has everything handled slip. He knows that this is a key quality that mares find attractive, and other stallions might think twice before challenging him. He is an older stallion, and has a lot of experience to draw upon both with impressive yarns and knowing how to spot a 'quarry', or a situation that might be more trouble than it is worth. Casanova may see a difficult quarry as a challenge and be incited by it; and while Lothario certainly enjoys the chase - he would rather have an enjoyable encounter than one that might leave him with scars from a jealous mate. Lothario is older, and has experience under his belt. He is still very much in "the Game" - but draws on his expertise. Think a older man who is still damn sexy, still has it, and is brimming with confidence (like Richard Gere).
Lothario is large for a flutter, but not when compared to most other regualar soquili.
History: Lothario certainly has a history. Lothario has been around - and yet he could recount to an avid listener each and every of his exploits. Personality: Ichabod is the embodiment of Ichthyophobia, the fear of fish. His skin is scaly and slimy. His fins are spiny and sharp, and he has a wicked bite with sharp teeth. He emboides a lot of the disturbing aspect of fish - the deep-sea spiny anglers, sharp-toothed sharks, or wriggly, slimy fish that cause a start. However, Ichabod could not have truly mastered his capabilities c without him personally experiencing the horrors that fish can cause. While many land-dwelling soquili might scoff at something like a fish, Ichabod knows the dangers of the deep sea. Sharks, eels, spiny dragon and lionfish, wriggling eels.
Ichabod has taken on characteristics of the viscous fish as a defense mechanism - the sea even more so than on land the rule is that the strong and big survive and can prey upon the smaller, weaker. And it brings him a great thrill to bring the same fear onto others than he experienced as a foal. The jaws that snap out of the blackness. And since discovering the above-world, Ichabod is eager to share the horrors of the deep.

History:
Ichabod comes from one of the darker branches of the kelpi lines. While many are playful, noble creatures, it is the likes of him that gives Kelpi their sour name. It is his species that were known to drown travelers in the brackish lochs in Scotland and Ireland. It was the hungry maws of his kind that drug sailors to their doom.
While his line is relatively small, their reputation has colored many landlubbers (or mer soquili's) Perspectives on what the Kelpi are, and his family is proud of that reputation. While they spawn rarely, his family wanted to ensure that this soquili would live up to the reputation of his lineage. They wanted him to know his capabilities, know the fear of the deep and the fish that lived there. If he was worthy, he would overcome it and be all the stronger for it. His protective shell was left in waters thick with eels and sharks and other viscous fishy predators, and he was left to fend for himself, watched from a distance. The foal quickly learned the terrors of the sea - of gnashing jaws and slimy wriggling coils that wrapped around him in the dark. Ichabod learned fear. And the only way to cope with that ever-present danger for the foal was to become like the creatures that he was left with - learning how to use his sharp spines and his own fangly teeth. While Ichabod might have been left more than a little unhinged and neurotic, fearful, and angry and unpredictable... it did serve his parents' purpose of making him every bit the horror that they wanted him to become.
When they did reintroduce him to others of his kind, Ichabod was off - having grown up fending for himself. His speech is therefore awkward, and he has a hard time feeling at-ease with conversation. He resents his family for leaving him as a foal, but has a healthy respect for their strength and can recognize their likeness to him. They have since introduced him to the above-world, and prodded him to make them respect and fear what the oceans and other bodies of water contain.

Personality: Argus is an envious soquili, always desiring what others have - be it material items or relationships or other things that Argus feels that he himself can never have. He feels inferior to the graceful mers in the waters, and the strong, hearty soquili of the land. He is positively obsessed, with watching others, hiding and observing, learning their secrets. He will creep close to shore, watching from a dark spot in the river the goings-on of land soquili, learning their secrets, their insecurities. He lives vicariously thought those that he watches, watching their lives play out like stories.

History: Argus was born in the brackish waters near Kawani herdlands. His mother told him that the eye-markings meant that the spirits intended for him to be a watcher, to see what others miss. But as Argus strove to fulfill this destiny, it isolated him. Other soquili thought him weird or creepy for watching them, often not speaking back. So Argus got better at hiding. His dark colors have made that relatively easy.

Slither is a cunning little snit, who started hanging out near Mokole to scavenge off of meals that he couldn't finish, and began a symbiotic relationship of luring potential victims closer to the creature.
Personality: Mokole is a primal, savage, almost prehistoric kelpi that lives deep in the swamps. While not stupid per se, he relies much more heavily on instinct than any kind of sophisticated interactions or planning. He is adept at living off the land, survival and camouflage, and subsists on an omnivorous diet. He is a soquili of few words - not seeing much point to them most of the time. He takes his time and is very patient, and generally slow-moving. But when hunting, can lash out very swiftly from a stand-still to ambush prey.
History: Mokole has been living in the swamps for as long as he can remember. It was Obeah and Cihuacoatl that moved into his territory when they found their swampy kingdom, not the other way around. Initially, he tolerated their presence, and generally kept out of their way, preferring to stay out of sight. However, as time passed and encounters occurred, they reached a sort of understanding of each others' presence, and Mokole has transitioned from an honorary herd member into a full, though reclusive, one. Obeah sees him as a strange mix of a rival and a potential mate for those soquili he is related to to continue their line.

Personality: Growing up with a sweet, doting, although slightly naive and eccentric mother like Mahi has left Zydeco with an upbeat, friendly temperament. A foal of two worlds, Zydeco takes the most after his mother's aquatic ancestry of his siblings, although bears his father's unicorn horn and purpley coloration. He gets plenty of eccentrism from his mother - in the good way. A little zany in his outlook and personality, but not manic or crazy. He's quite laid back in his dealings with other soquili, and not a lot seems to get under his skin, though he can certainly be excitable and lively. Like his mom, he's not the brightest soquili, but he's not exactly a simpleton, either. He's charming in the down-to-earth, easygoing manner, and a little hedonistic. He's fond of food and music, and sometimes makes his own - of either - making use of things he has on hoof, even if it's a bit... different than the likes more refined soquili may enjoy. He is never afraid to experiment: trying new foods, visiting new places, meeting new people.
And he's very nonjudgmental: he'd never think of himself as above any other soquili (or below for that matter). He treats everyone like an equal, if not a good friend.

Personality: Danaë is a free-spirited, libearated mare. She's independent, joyful, loves life, and refuses to let others tie her down. She loves meeting other soquili and making friends, and is interested in mares and stallions alike, though tends to form more lasting bonds with other mares. She adores being a kelpi and having the freedom to travel both the land and sea - exploring a variety and meeting other soquili beyond the capabilities of most other breeds. She might not be as gainly on land as the terrestial, or as elegent in the water as the mers, but she never lets anyone imply that she is anything but remarkable.
History: Danaë was once betrothed to a mer stallion for whom she had no love. He was possessive and unemotional. She viewed this as a terrible fate, and for the longest time, something out of her own control. However, soon before their lifemating was to be, she took a trip to the surface world and was blown away by wonders she had never seen before - how much there was that was absolutely beyond her worldview. It was an epiphany. The world was so much larger and magnificient and full of so many other possibilities than her undersea home. She left, never speaking or explaining herself to her betrothed, filled with a new sense of independence and potential.

Personality: Mahi is ambitious, friendly, and excitable. She’s incredibly naïve, and doesn’t quite understand the dangers of the world. No matter how many people tell her differently, she thinks she’s just as capable on land as she in water. In reality, while she can walk and breath on land, she’s incredibly clumsy and awkward. She must stay near water to keep from being dried out, and when she’s excited or happy she tends to squeal or blow bubbles.
History: Mahi was being delievered by Ajadi to the Kawani tribe, when two hawks swooped upon him and stole the two shells he was carrying. He cried for help, unable to follow after the birds (being a merman and all), and Stormwild happened to be about. She herded the hawks until they dropped the heavy shells closer to ground where they would not be damaged, Ajadi was very grateful, giving Stormwild care of one of the shells in gratitude. Storm accepted, against her better judgment, and took the shell back to the mountains. Her and Kamiki Ahawi build a special leather-lined basket that could hold water so Storm could protect the shell in her homelands.

Upon Mahi’s “hatching” – Stormwild knew that she would have to release Mahi into the ocean so she could be with her own kind. She is currently on the hunt for a suitable caretaker for her finned adoptive daughter.
