Mind magic. Of course it was going to be something like that. For all that Daphne disliked the Chaos on earth, at least she appreciated that the monsters that it created could be destroyed.
Hearing that it would likely not be so physical here did nothing to ease her thoughts of home. It did nothing to ease her thoughts of Alastor.
Would she see visions again? Would she turn against her friends? The thoughts of what could lie ahead made her hesitate before drawing closer to the group, even as the others began to strategize with each other, to ask questions. Urania seemed to be drawing a map. During all this, Daphne waited. She stood still as a statue. Scared, if she was being honest.
She'd thought that she was making progress with her grief, and her other feelings, but being in a situation like this just made it all flood back like a wave. If she hadn't bitten her lip, she might have started crying.
She wanted her father, more than she had in a long time. Or, there was someone who reminded her of him waiting back on Earth. She could go back, Urania would probably let her, and spend the evening talking to him and forget the past that way instead of coming here and facing whatever tragedy was awaiting them.
No. That wasn't any good. Was the Chas giving her that thought?
Maybe it would be better if she wasn't alone.
She saw another clearly alien senshi standing to the side of the crowd. Terebellum. She'd talked to Daphne when she was at her lowest point, and convinced her not to give herself over to Chaos.
If she was going to stand next to someone in the face of this, it might as well be someone who understood.
"Here we are again," she said softly, stepping up to the teal skinned girl. "And we'll do it again, and again." Her face was drawn, distant. Her tail was still motionless behind her. "Are you still sure you think this is worth fighting?"
