Captain SylviteSylvite had been about as ready for the youma as she was going to be. She'd had a decent vantage point, she'd had weapons. She hadn't been expecting the youma to use a person as a weapon of its own. Sylvite tried to catch the pink haired lieutenant, but for all of her superpowers, she still wasn't a big person. The two went tumbling down the rock pile, Sylvite sqeaking a little bit with every impact. When they hit solid-ish ground, the extra strength came in more handy. She was able to wriggle out from under the taller, dazed woman pretty easily, although she took a minute to look her over even as the others continued to battle the youma. "Are you okay?" she asked. The lieutenant's lip twitched. She didn't look happy, but she also didn't look like she was quite all there. "Stay here for now. It'll be safer, it looks like they're getting it pretty riled up." She glanced towards the youma, then gave the lieutenant a little pat on the shoulder. "Uhhh. Yeah." With that, she got to her feet, only slightly worse for the wear. She took a second to take in her surroundings. She could see a flash of red uniform at the end of the path, now, but the youma was crackling, and it looked like several people were hurt, or falling back, or just plain distracted. Okay. That was fine. It could be her turn now. Sucking in a breath and trying not to think too much, she lunged forwards at the youma with both her knives. --- Corrupt Eternal CybeleThe youma's rock struck true. Cybele was sent backwards, briefly pinned to the ground and dry-gasping in pain as the stone slammed into her central organs and then stayed sitting on them, heavy and awful. Her lower ribs especially burned. For a moment, she stayed frozen, staring at the ceiling and listening to the muffled sounds of conflict going on around her. This was even worse than that monster in the village, somehow. Still, Cybele had never been one to give up and since she was still alive, she was not intending to start now. Biting back a scream, she shoved the rock off of her and then fumbled through subspace for the starseed that she always kept on her. It was sweet relief when she cracked it between her teeth. She still ached. She still hurt in a few places, but at least the world had stopped spinning. Slowly, she began to make her way up to her feet, but that was still a lot. She was only kneeling when the youma began to crackle dangerously, and she glimpsed Sylvite getting close. Deciding she needed to do something faster, Cybele picked up some of the sharper pieces of rubble from nearby to hurl at the youma- a taste of its own medicine. --- Lieutenant JadariteIt was the second time that evening that a youma's tail had sent her crashing into another agent. Jadarite was done, and it was not only because the energy draining had left her feeling terribly sluggish. She held her tongue when the captain tried to baby her, asking her if she was okay when she was obviously humiliated and then telling her to be careful. Jadarite was in no state to play nice with others right now. She just wanted her bed and some wine, really. The captain had a point about this youma, though. Jada had always thought that the youma were cannon fodder creatures, good for gathering energy and distracting senshi but easy enough to turn into dust, at least by higher level agents. She'd heard horror stories of lieutenants falling prey to the creatures, but they had Axinite with them, and yet this one was still standing. Jadarite shifted slightly to take more cover behind the pile of rocks, even as her back complained. She watched the others fight. They had real weapons. They could handle this. She was willing to serve the Negaverse, but not to die for it.

LT. AtheneiteAtheneite was more than a little disappoint at just how little damage she was able to do. Not that she had expected much but it put into perspective just how much weaker she was than a captain and especially a general. She needed to work on getting stronger. Then the creature swatted at her like she was just an annoying insect. She barely managed avoid to the worst of the Youma's claws, although they did still leave a nice gash on her shoulder, but the force of the hand still sent her sent her flying. She groaned in pain as picked herself up, she was sure she was gonna be bruised all over after all this was done.
Then the monster started doing something weird, it was clearly charging up some sort of large attack. There was a palpable energy in the air. As much as Atheneite wanted to keep fighting but she knew when to retreat, she wasn't about to die here. So in a parting shot she threw her baton at the creature's eye hoping to hit a vulnerable part of the monster, not waiting to see if her aim was true. She saw Peridot duck behind a large rock so she decided to join her.
"Hey are you alright?" She inquired a bit out of breath as she reach the hiding spot.NovaCracker Hope it's ok if Atheneite joins her

Lt. EveiteNot a fun way to start proving that she was a Lieutenant worthy of the power that had been bestowed upon her. She had only just made it with the others and knew that her silly little "weapons" at this time were effectively useless against the Youma as it continued to assault them, gathering energy for who knew what. She could only throw some rocks at it and hope it did something, but due to her level, she knew she was risking drawing it's attention. Apparently it liked to go for "easier" prey first, and the Lieutenants and basic Senshi fit that category well! ----------------------------------------------------- Super Corrupt VersaillesThey were unable to continue their conversation and Versailles wasn't too surprised when the Youma finally showed itself. The surprise came with how large it was. that made it a problem to deal with. They would need to move away from here. This was not the place to have an epic battle of any sort. Cybele was on point though when she attacked and Versailles knew that his magic would most likely be useless. It may work on smaller Youma, but certainly not on something as large as this. The group had managed to get past it and had finally gotten with, what Versailles supposed, was it's "lair", but it was still on the attack and desperately fighting with them. Versailles could only try to throw smaller, sharper rocks at the creature with no real weapon to use against it and with his magic being utterly useless at this point. At least he dealt more with Senshi and Knights than with Youma to where his magic wasn't effectively completely useless. The main problem was the ever-changing ground around the youma. Clearly it could manipulate it and finding a spot that wasn't moving was a problem. And it was clearly getting ready to do something, whether it was going to blast them or whatever else. Versailles made sure to keep an eye on anywhere he could hide from it just in case. He had gotten separated from Cybele at this time, and unfortunately it now appeared to be a battle for their lives. But he would still try to save any fellow agents that he could! ----------------------------------------------------- Captain ChambersiteChambersite had managed to move past the youma with the rest of the group, but knew that this situation was all too dangerous. The ground kept shifting and changing because of the youma, and for a moment wondered if this was something the Youma could only do in the rift or if it could be used elswhere if they were to capture it... Capturing it was out of the question though. Many others had already attacked it, and he decided that he would do the same, summoning his dagger and throwing it at the creature. This way he could summon it back. As much as he wanted to try hitting the youma itself, he didn't want to risk trying to give the creature a papercut while he himself could have been killed. It wasn't the right time to do so, but perhaps there would be another opportunity. ----------------------------------------------------- General ArsenopyriteNow that they were in the main part of the youma's "lair" they had been able to find the Lieutenant in the distance, something that intrigued Arseno. Why had the youma kept the Lieutenant? It was something he would have studied if he could, but he agreed with Beni that the Youma needed to be killed. Unfortunate. It could have been of great use to them and for studying. He grinned as he saw the other throw his spear. Not something that Arseno could do with his own, but he could at least do something. "We need to give the others a chance to rescue the Feldspar. Or at least I will. I'm willing to draw it's attention away from them while they work on it." He said, feeling a bit more energetic now that adrenaline was coursing through him. He would be crashing later, but right now he needed to use this to his advantage. He noticed that he wasn't the first to do so, but he wouldn't let the opportunity of the youma being injured go to waste, and ran towards the creature, swinging his horseman's pick as hard as he could at another of it's limbs, hoping that he was at least able to injure it. The Space Cauldron Arseno has attacked the Youma! Along with Chambersite

General Lopezite
The youma seemed to be taking damage, and for that Lopezite was grateful. He didn’t know how long they had before something bad happened, and he felt like they were already pressing their luck with so many lower ranked agents. He was grateful no one seemed to be dead yet, but he wasn’t sure that what he’d seen boded well for Feldspar.
When Alpersite attacked, his eyes flashed and he seemed genuinely surprised--but proud. He didn’t risk making sure Alpersite saw the proud smile he wore, and just swung his sword again, cautious not to hurt anyone else in the process.
“Good form,” he praised the lieutenant, even more aware of the youma’s movements to make sure no harm came to Alpersite.

Electricity arced in the air again, purple and pulsing from the youma. The crystals in the area stretched out once more, as if supercharged by this flow of chaos. The youma was visibly enraged, visibly beaten down by the assaults. It roared once more, so loudly that some of the nearby crystals cracked--and then its skin began to hum with electricity. Its tail hit the ground forcefully and three more large bolts hit across the ground, sending debris flying everywhere. It was bleeding--profusely--and seemed enraged. With one final, ear-splitting bellow, it curled into itself and then flung its arms outwards, its head backwards. A wave of electricity pulsed from it, strong enough to send anyone nearby flying back. The pile of rubble from the barrier it had made on the path flew backwards, throwing rocks towards the group around Axinite. Some rocks were sharp, hard enough to cut. Some were just large, capable of bruising. Some tingled with the residual electricity clinging to them. Those closer to the Youma might have been directly affected by the electricity; it was powerful enough to make people go rigid, to tense their bodies and leave them spasming or drained. It hurt. As the youma exploded into its burst of electricity, the crystals vibrated and shattered, sending more sharp debris hurling--and freeing Lieutenant Feldspar! His prone body slid to the ground--unconscious, but without any visible harm. Axinite’s youma finished twisting its way up the hole, rolling and twisting. It dumped Axinite, Aqua and Jet onto the ground before it writhed for a good few seconds, shrinking dramatically in size. It was still incredibly sizeable and rose up before circling the area. Axinite grimaced, and hurriedly pushed himself up. He was pale, with a trail of blood smeared into his hair. He seemed otherwise fine, but he was rigid and quiet. He summoned his axe, finally, and used it to keep himself upright. Frantically, his eyes darted across the area, taking in the scene and all that he had missed. And yet--he breathed a sigh of relief. The mound of rocks that had been blocking their path seemed cleared enough to allow for easy travel, but he could see that people had been hurt--that the youma was defeated. He breathed a short sigh of relief and nodded to the group. “--Amazing job,” he called to them. There was no reason to stay here for any longer if the youma was defeated, if they had recovered Feldspar. “Let’s get back to the castle. We’ll have first aid aid for those of you that are injured and recalibrate.” He spoke like he hadn’t had blood at the side of his head, like there wasn’t blood dripping down his pant leg. He supported himself with his axe but carried himself like he was uninjured, and however much power he radiated, it was clear that he was proud of the team, just not himself. Quote: Congratulations, you have defeated the youma!Everyone needs to collect themselves and get ready for the trip home. You are free to take as much or as little damage as you like, either from debris shards, a burst of air pressure, or a tingling or burning electricity discharge. If you are interested in recovering Feldspar, roll one, one hundred side dice. The highest roll will be acknowledged as recovering Feldspar in the closing post. The ORP is closed to new entrants; you can only make a post for your character responding to the final youma attack, collecting themselves or helping others who are injured, and getting ready to travel back to Negaspace. Please include your character’s name and rank in bold font at the top of the post! You can take as much or as little damage from the youma as you like. Axinite is available for roleplay between now and the final post, which will be made ~48 hours from now on Sunday night. This post will feature a fade-to-black timeskip so the group can return to Negaspace for a small ceremony. If you have any questions, you can PM The Space Cauldron! If you are interacting with Axinite or the environment, please quote the mule so we can reply as quickly as possible between now and then!

Captain BloodstoneThe flying shards of rock and pulses of electricity had caused enough damage for even Bloodstone to stagger as he pushed himself back up from the ground again. He ached from the electrical shocks and where his hair wasn’t sticking on end from the current in the air, it was sticky and matted down with blood.
But they still had a mission to complete. He could see Lieutenant Feldspar just out of reach, and he looked to Carnallite to make sure she was okay and that she saw him too.
With the youma defeated and many of those close by injured, Bloodstone stood by to retrieve the Lieutenant if no one else did.

Captain SylviteIn retrospect, stabbing something that was half electricity with metal might not have been the best idea. Sylvite gasped from the sudden shock. Her skin went all tingly, and her hair about doubled in size, but at least it seemed like the final barrage of attack had finally taken the youma down. She dropped her knives, stepped away from the sudden puff of dust, and then took just a couple seconds to cough and then breathe and then try to kind of settle herself. Looking around, it still seemed like nobody was bleeding out on the rocky floor or anything. The worst off was the red lieutenant that she could only assume was Feldspar, the one that they'd come down here to rescue in the first place. It looked like he was gonna need some help, which meant the mission wasn't quite over yet. Still rubbing her hands together a little bit, because ow, she made her way down to the center of the crystal lair to check on him. The Space Cauldron Sylvite going for Feldspar-

General JetJet ignored his pain in favor of moving over to Aquamarine to help him up once they were deposited onto the ground by the youma. He had cuts and forming bruises from the fall, but they were still, thanks to Axinite and his youma, alive. And not the mangled, wishing-they-were-dead alive either.
Are you okay? he thought to Aquamarine, still using the earrings they wore so he didn’t have to draw more attention to his concern. This should hopefully allow Aquamarine to be honest about his injuries too. Does anything feel broken? Jet was prepared to offer to carry Aquamarine if necessary, but he wasn’t sure how far his own strength would allow before the pain was too much.
“Thank you, General King,” he looked up to locate where Axinite was, the gratitude clear in his voice. They really would have been out of luck if Axinite hadn’t saved them. “I haven’t changed my mind about coming back, as requested, but I think we’re going to be better prepared now.” If Aquamarine decided he still wanted to come with him.

Corrupted Sailor Taenite“So, can I get one of those?” Taenite jabbed a thumb over his shoulder at the giant snake youma. “They seem super helpful. I know, I know, I’m a senshi but really, it seems like a waste not to have something like that to help us poor magic users.”
He didn’t even get a chance to scorch anything with his magic that day. Well, they still had a long walk back to the Hall of Shadows, so maybe he would need to clear the way at some point.
Taenite didn’t bother mentioning the blood from Axinite’s wounds. The man was capable of taking care of himself, and he was still their superior officer out on the field. There was no use in causing a fuss now. Once they got back he would make sure Axinite had a chance to sit down and get cleaned up. Corrupt Eternal KamaciteKamacite wasn’t bothered by Cymophane’s chipper babbling, but he couldn’t exactly get his heart to calm down with him pointing out things like Jet’s boyfriend and all that. At least it seemed like the youma had been defeated and the Lieutenant they’d gone into the Rift for was being rescued.
Good, because he really could use sleeping for twelve hours or so.
He wasn’t injured more than a few bruises from rocks falling, but he knew a lot of others were. He’d been concerned about getting Axinite out of the hole, but he apparently hadn’t needed the help. Which Kamacite should have assumed, seeing as he was a General King.
But he also looked a little worse for wear at the moment. There was blood in Axinite’s hair and down his leg, but he looked like he would refuse help if asked, so Kamacite didn’t bother.
Instead, he just rubbed at his chest more and straightened up to make sure Cymophane was close to him in case something else decided to attack.
“Yes, that’s his boyfriend,” he at least confirmed, glancing over at the two Generals, still annoyed by the trouble the blond General gave him in that forest around October.

Youma Maikoh
She thought only a fool wouldn't have realized what they were walking into: a youma's den, and the agent it had captured was its prey. A part of her understood its fury. If so many had dared to wander so close to her home, to her collection, she would have done everything in her power to tear them to shreds, rend their heads from their bodies, and consume their hearts. Even if they were only seeking to save something she had gathered-
But no, no, it was hers, hers, hers. No one should take it from her. The energy, the fight roiled through her muscles. The pressure was there, goading her to do something, and rationally she knew the point of being here was to turn on the monster, her kind. Claim its territory.
She wanted to. It could be hers.
Her pup was nearby, and rationally she knew she should stay near to protect him and his ilk. But she did not want to protect. She wanted war. Maikoh's body tensed, a low, rolling howl tearing out of her throat as she vaulted forward, hooves clambering up the side of the rubble and cliffs so she could launch herself at the faltering body of the other youma.
If she landed the decisive blow, everything it had would be hers. The territory, the spoils. Hers, hers, hers. She threw herself from the cliffs, angling to land atop it, to tear its head off.
It flung its arms out, a caterwaul of a cry leaving it as energy pulsed in a vicious enough wave to fling Maikoh away. The electricity crackled through her fur, making her snarl as she cracked back to the earth, body tight and rigid. It was the first thing she felt, but it wasn't the last. The explosion shot sharp debris pelting from the rubble, the tops of the cliffs rained down on her jolt-stiffened body, crushing to the ground, covering her.
Wisps of smoke filtered up through the cracks, and Maikoh was gone.
[622] [Maikoh exit.]
--- Lieutenant Janggunite
He wasn't sure what the benefit of everyone being here was. As Janggunite followed Maikoh through pathway, he only had to look around to see that most people here didn't really seem suited for taking down anything that might pop up in the Rift. The bunch seemed peppy and spunky, but not really... coordinated. Or dangerous.
Besides Axinite, maybe, but then he probably would've been able to recovering any missing persons alone, and this seemed like an awful lot of danger to be purring so many lieutenants and basics into.
And this wasn't even fighting the enemies in the war they'd been recruited for.
Sure enough, his concerns were proved correct when a monstrously tar-and-horse-like youma appeared to defend its territory. Janggunite wasn't so stupid as to attempt to face it with his glassy flower "weapon," but he definitely definitely saw others going at it with staplers and shoes. An award-winning crowd, this one was. He decided he would try to avoid it at all costs and let everyone else take it on if they felt compelled to do so.
Except, then his team, Maikoh, was charging off after the creature. "Maikoh!" He shouted after her, desperately trying to get the beast woman's attention to try and convince her to return to him, to no avail.
Pulses of electricity, and a shower of shards rained down, and his focus was ripped away from her to fend for himself. By the time he located her again, it was too late, and she was being caged and smashed by pelting debris, until she was gone: vanished in a wisp. She was just a youma. He knew rationally that she wasn't dead (probably?), but-
She was still the only one he knew in all of this.
"Maikoh!" Janggunite screamed as he rushed to where she'd fallen, seconds after the enemy youma had exploded. He felt it tingle against his skin, but he'd known better to get too close. He wasn't a fool who would put himself in harm's way for no reason.
--- Mauvian Gremlin
"What are you doing, what are you doing, whatareyoudoing?" Gremlin shrieked as he sank his claws deep into the flesh between Rakovanite's neck and shoulder. He'd been perched in the protection of the agent's high collar, but the Mauvian suddenly felt substantially less protected as his escort approached to help fend the youma away from some of the other recruits.
The fact of the matter was that Rakovanite wasn't running away, which seemed to Gremlin as if it was the only reasonable course of action.
Bringing a Guardian so close to a beast that didn't want to do anything but wreck people was a good way to ruin Gremlin's day, but what was he supposed to do? He couldn't just ditch now. Then he wouldn't have any sort of cover. There was debris and shrapnel flying all over the place, so the only spot he could be in and not be in immediate danger was tucked into somebody's clothes. And everyone else looked as equally occupied as Rakovanite.
Gremlin growling, hissing lowly against the agent's ear to show his displeasure, before scrunching into as tight a ball as he could manage and burying himself out of the way. What he couldn't see, couldn't hurt him.
Or at least, he wouldn't know when it was about to.
And he probably needed to stay out of Rakovanite's way if he wanted his best chance at survival. But he was extremely disgruntled, and that wasn't about to go unnoticed.
--- Captain Rakovanite
Rakovanite made a sound somewhere between a grunt and a hiss as his Mauvian passenger bodily resisted his course of action. "Enough," he commanded quietly, giving his shoulder a little warning waggle as Gremlin repositioned himself. "I cannot do nothing."
And he wouldn't do nothing. He wasn't a lieutenant without a weapon or training, anymore. Even though Rakovanite had to acknowledge that there wasn't much he could do (and even less alone), that didn't mean he couldn't provide something to his allies, even if he didn't see a purpose in getting up and close as several of the others did. Rakovanite kept at a reasonable distance, scaling the cliffs in a few timed bounds as he hurled his chakrams near the monster, though there were, unfortunately, several agents gathered around it that made it hard to target safely.
Perhaps the movement would at least provide some distraction so someone could get in and stab for its eyes, or something. Surely youma needed their heads as much as any other creature.
Most importantly, he just hoped that if things became hopelessly overwhelming, everyone could agree that retreat was the safest course of action. Even if it meant leaving behind Feldspar- or Axinite- it wasn't worth all of their lives trying to save one boy... But the tide seemed favorable enough that it wouldn't be an issue. The group's combined assault seemed to be working well enough, and it was only belatedly that Rakovanite caught sight of something he didn't want to see:
A highlighter flash of rainbow as Cervantite ran forward. "Cervantite," Rakovanite hissed from where he stood along the cliff walls. "Stay back. Keep with Nobleite-"
But it didn't matter.
--- Basic Cervantite
Um, no?
Why on earth was he going to stay back when the youma was on its last legs? The worst of the danger had passed (probably), so he was sure he could leave Nobleite there and move forward to just- get a little of the action. He'd stayed out of most of the fight. He'd stuck to his team, like his big brother had suggested. But things were getting fired up here, and he didn't want to do nothing while everyone else was doing something!
So, he ran for it. Despite Rakovanite's shout to keep at Nobleite's side (because Nobleite couldn't defend himself, of course), Cervantite moved directly for the monster, head-on, how any good fight should be carried out.
A good fight probably shouldn't be twenty-against-one, but at least the odds were in his favor?
He called his magic. It was the ideal time to use it, the ideal situation to blow something up without worrying if he was actually going to hurt someone (because Cervantite never really wanted to do any real or serious damage. Not in the way Rakovanite went for kills. Cervantite just wanted to use his powers. He just wanted to enjoy being a senshi and get everything out of it that he could, and here was his chance!).
So he dove, the pressure of his ability at his fingertips. He had to be close to use his magic. He had to make contact. But the youma screeched and flung its arms up, exploding in a burst of electric energy that smashed into Cervantite and made his whole body seize. It froze him in a second, locking his joints and igniting a pain-
And his magic. It blew up at his fingertips, smashing him further forward as shrapnel pelted down, slicing deep gouges into his arms and legs and chest. Cervantite howled in his own agony and hit the ground.
--- Lieutenant Nobleite
More than fending away the monster, Nobleite was most vested in finding the missing boy, and his impression had been that he and Cervantite would head that way while Rakovanite played his part in keeping the youma away from the group trying to rescue Feldspar. But that wasn't entirely what happened.
Cervantite abandoned him to fight, and Nobleite had no idea if he was expected to follow or what he'd be able to do if he did keep close to the senshi. He did not have magic at his fingertips. Nobleite could not fight. And judging from Rakovanite's order snapped down toward them, he didn't think it very smart for Cervantite to try either. Alas, Cervantite charged forward, and here was only the briefest pause, the barest moment of consideration before Nobleite moved after him.
He didn't want to make a run for Feldspar alone. He didn't want to leave Cervantite to try and fight.
But even that moment of debate was enough to spar him from the worst of the concussive blast that the monster flung outward from itself with its last breath. Nobleite felt the heat and the jolt. It seized his body and pulled him to the ground, but it wasn't half of what it did to Cervantite.
Nobleite was trembling as he got to his feet.
Even if he wanted no part of this, he wanted less to stand idly by while a boy- a teenage boy- was being hurt. He caught a flash as Rakovanite moved toward them, but Nobleite was at Cervantite's side first, shaky hands hovering over the worst of the young man's injuries, though he had no idea what to do for them.

Carnallite picked herself up off the ground where she’d fallen when the youma expired. She was a little banged up, with bumps and bruises and a few scrapes from flying crystal shrapnel, but it was nothing to concern herself with. She probably didn’t even require bandaging, and if anyone insisted, she would refuse. Her hair was a frightful mess, frizzy and mussed and half falling out of the low ponytail she often wore, but she did little more than corral it all back into its bow before making her way toward Bloodstone.
“Great job checking his vitals, Doctor,” she said.
Sarcasm was one of the few things to bring changes to a voice that usually lacked inflection otherwise.
She approached Feldspar, intending to offer what assistance she could — which wasn’t much, in his state, but it seemed they might need to drag his unconscious body back with them.
At least he was alive, she supposed.
Not that it would have made a difference to Carnallite either way.

General AquamarineAquamarine stared at the snake as it shrank.
“So Axinite’s snake is a grower,” he said.
He turned away to snicker, a bit dazed still, and likely to have nightmares about falling down a dark chasm, but whole and alive and relatively unhurt, apart from some mild aches and pains, and perhaps some bruising to his pride. It was easy to laugh when he was grateful not to be an ugly splatter on the Rift’s landscape.
For a moment, Aquamarine considered using Jet’s concern to his benefit. He was still a spoiled little rich kid at heart and occasionally liked to be fussed over, especially if it meant he’d have someone at his beck and call, but he decided now wasn’t really the time. There were other people around, and the General King was still right there.
Besides, he was more concerned about Jet than he was himself.
Naturally, he couldn’t show it.
I’m fine, he thought once he’d calmed down. Nothing severe. Maybe some bruising.
He eyed Jet for any sign of injury, leaning a little closer to inspect a cut, but it seemed shallow enough not to require stitches.
You’re lucky we didn’t both die, idiot, he continued. I told you to drop me.

Corrupt Sailor CymophaneKamacite was quiet. Too quiet for Cymophane’s liking. Cymophane could easily hold an entire conversation by himself, but he still didn’t like when Kamacite got too quiet. It meant he was nervous or scared or both, and Cymophane had been trying very hard to keep him distracted so he wouldn’t get nervous or scared.
Fortunately, neither of them seemed injured enough to require medical attention. Plus, Axinite was back, Cymophane’s General wasn’t dead (although, as they’d been separated, Cymophane hadn’t even been aware that he should be concerned), the youma was gone, the rocks blocking their way had been cleared enough that the path was passable, and Feldspar was well on his way to being recovered.
All in all, this seemed like a successful mission.
Not that Cymophane had any other missions under his metaphorical belt (he was pretty sure what he had was considered a sash) to compare it to.
“I guess they found Feldspar?” he said.
Cymophane grabbed Yuuri by the arm and ushered him over the debris, passed where the youma had attacked their allies, and around the corner into the larger room where a few people were gathering around an inert body.

Basic Calaverite It was scant seconds between when Calaverite and those around him began to make their way down the path, and when the world rumbled angry dissent at the intrusion. The towering cliffs to either side of them began to crumble, and the ground back where the general king had been standing began to cave in.
Calaverite had less than zero idea what to do in a situation like this, but since there were so many others around who'd make good targets for a monster, he didn't feel terribly compelled to worry. The excitement and the new drove him. He'd wanted to come here for the adventure and for the creatures, so any altercations just seemed like part of the experience. And since everyone around him seemed intent on leaping into the fray in one way or another, he wouldn't miss an opportunity for that, either.
It would be fine. He wasn't afraid of the monsters here.
Calaverite called on his magic, a short spell that summoned two disjointed little birds that flapped around Cala's head, before he tsked and swished his fingers at them to dive for the youma. They did, though it seemed to accomplish nothing, as their tiny bodies battered pitifully against the monster before being swallowed up in a wave of electricity.
The same wave that barreled forward and sent painful jolts shooting up Cala's legs, with the accompanying smell of seared skin.
He plopped backwards with a shriek as others rushed in. Agents were tearing at the monster with their weapons while other senshi tried to strike it with their magic, as Cala had done. For the most part, the monster seemed relatively unaffected by anything anyone could do it...
But it wasn't a strike from agent or senshi that finished it. With a roar, the youma exploded into a pulse of debris and electricity. Cala felt the heat of it, tasted static on his tongue, and curled his arms over his head to shield from the worst of the debris that pierced him. But when he glanced back up, it was to see that the creature had done the task of getting rid of itself, and the boy that everyone had come looking for had been freed.
It definitely wasn't what Cala cared about most in the day. A pitiful sound escaped him as he slid into a more upright sit, and he examined the wounds on his arms and the sear-marks along his legs with a look that was almost confused.
How had any of this happened?
He wasn't really used to getting so physically injured as Calaverite... Usually only Ivory took the kind of injuries that he could see so clearly...
