The Ice Cave
Aisko wasn't really the most welcoming of places and it hadn't really made it easy on Eyphah to find a temporary lair but when he finally did the Diabi felt like celebrating. It was a simple sort of set up, nothing more then just a hole in the ground that felt like an underground cave that was made mostly of ice with a bit of earth in the far back. It was there that he meant to sleep so that he wouldn't have to be directly on the snow and ice at all times. After giving it a quick inspection, sniffing around to make sure the cave hadn't been used recently, he set to work digging into the far back wall of the cave, making a decent sized shelf in which he placed the Aiskala orbs that he had collected thus far. Once that was done he used the ice shards he'd dug out of the wall to hide the orbs. Satisfied with his work he then turned his attention to what had to be done next... that being rest. As much as he really wanted to keep going, keep hunting, keep collecting those beautiful orbs that reminded him so much of 'his' Merkein he knew that he also needed rest. Were he to keep going for too long he was bound to get himself into trouble.
Better to rest now and fight again in the morning then get overwhelmed because he was sleeping he told himself as he dug around a bit into the earthy patch, giving himself more room to lay down. Even as he curled up into a ball though he found he didn't much care for it. He was so used to traveling on his own, occasionally returning to the clan to chat and check on his mother, but other then that he was a loner. Tallulah though, his appearance had shaken everything up, hadn't it? Now all that he could think about was the Merkein, wondering where he was, what he was doing, what he was fighting, if he was eating well, all sorts of silly things that shouldn't be his business. If anything what he needed to think about was the here and now, what he was doing himself, what he was hunting, and how many Aiskala orbs he wanted to gather before he moved onto bigger prey. Of course knowing that Tallulah was coming here to Aisko he couldn't really just up and leaving even if he had amassed a horde of the light blue orbs. He was going to wait for the Merkein to arrive, they would meet up, he could tell him what he knew about the Aiskala, and then his student would see about gathering his own Aiskala orbs.
"I hope he comes soon." He muttered to himself, flopping over onto his side, his tail thumping against the ground. It would be a lot warmer in here with more then one body he thought to himself, though curling up to Eyphah was always a chore given all the spikes he was covered in. If anything he was a bit like a cactus plant but still, he'd rather Tallulah arrived and came to curl up close to him since the meant that they would both stay warmer then they would alone. He couldn't help but to wonder if he would be alright here, as a water type creature would he risk freezing more easily in the cold? A strange thought but not one that the Diabi wanted to dwell on. If anything he'd rather just think about the positives, like the fact that he wouldn't be alone much longer. It was that finally thought that he kept in mind as he finally dozed off.
*****
Come morning the Diabi came to slowly, his stomach rumbling in complaint, telling him that it was time to get up and find something to eat. Of course as he moved to the entrance of the cave to prepare to leave it would appear as though a storm had kicked up. He supposed that this meant he was going to have to wait until it abated a bit. Not like he wanted to go out into that, he'd be fighting all but blind and that wasn't something that he cared to do, thanks. It would be boring waiting on the snow to cease but it was what he was stuck doing it would seem, "Don't worry, stomach, we will get something to eat soon enough." He muttered to it as it grumbled again. So long as there were plenty of tasty Aiskala to hunt down and eat after the storm was over and done with then he supposed he would make it through... even if all the waiting for more then a little grating for someone so used to taking action.

Blood Moon State
It was only one month out of the year when the creatures of the dark really experienced this sort of high during what was called the Blood Moon. It was something that Eyphah hadn't really been able to experience to its fullest before now due to the fact that he wasn't able to go out and hunt whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. All of the other times that he was affected by the Blood Moon state he wasn't allowed to hunt anything bigger then certain sorts of prey animals and in turn he wasn't able to enjoy himself and this power to the fullest. It was all just far too exciting! He wanted to go out and fight more and more dragons, to collect all of their orbs, but he knew that there was no reason to do so at the moment. He had so many Aiskala orbs now that it would just be akin to beating a dead horse to continue to hunt them. He wasn't going to get as much out of them if he continued to fight the icy dragons and as such he knew that he should find other prey. He wanted to but he knew that he couldn't, not yet at least.
Looking at the ice shelf in his temporary lair where the orbs were tucked away he gave a sighing sound, pacing around for a time, before he turned his head to look toward the opening to the cave, "I need to find Tallulah." He couldn't just sit around forever, not when he was feeling as if he could take on the world at the moment. No, he would do whatever he had to do to make sure that he found the Merkein, checked up on him, saw how he was doing, made sure that he was doing well with his training, and then he'd see about what he should do next. He didn't want to leave Tallulah behind the moment that they met up again but it was getting exceedingly harder to sit still. It was as though in the Blood Moon state he could actually feel how strong he was, how close he was getting to his goal, and that made it even hard to sit around doing nothing. He should be hunting more, killing more, gathering more orbs. He had to do so, to get to the point where he knew that he would be succeed in becoming a Drakeinian. It was so close that he could almost taste the power now. He would bet his canine teeth that he was but a few battles away from his goal. Despite knowing that though he wouldn't leave Aisko, not yet, Tallulah was 'his' Merkein and he meant to find him.
"So that's what I should be doing." He said, giving the hiding place of his orbs one last glance before he whirled around and headed out of the mouth of the cave, looking from side to side, sniffed at the air, then started forward to get a running start before taking to the air. He would start at the beach he decided, he'd do some circling about, looking for foot prints, signs of battle, anything that said that the Merkein had made it to Aisko. He knew that it wasn't certain when the guy would show up but he wanted to find him now, damn it, he wanted to talk with him, catch up with him, and tell him all about what he was feeling at the moment. Being Peisio he doubted very highly that Tallulah would understand what he was feeling as a Diabi but it didn't matter, he could describe it to him after all. Tallulah was quite smart and he would understand were he to tell him exactly what it was that he was feeling at the moment, the excitement, the inability to sit still, the drive to continue to fight, fight, fight, and the fact that he felt he was closing in on his goal. If anyone would be able to celebrate that accomplishment with him it would be the Merkein since he was after a similar goal.
The Diabi was pleased when he got to the edge of the peninsula that he had been hunting on, flying along the edge of teh water, and for the longest time he saw... nothing. It was enough to make him start to think that maybe the Merkein hadn't arrived yet? It was altogether possible that he was still at home hunting the Peisio Dragons for their orbs after all. At least that was what he was thinking until he saw an area nearby that looked quite messed up, as though a great battle had happened there, and he set to circling around. After a moment he landed, inspecting the area, sniffing at everything, and he gave a pleased sort of sound when he caught the scent he was looking for, "There it is. I knew you would come to meet me." He murmured, rather delighted over the fact that the Merkein had made it. A part of him had worried about the Peisio's poor direction when it came to being on land but now that he knew he was here all he had to do was find him. With that thought in mind he pushed off the ground and the search continued. Tallulah was nearby, that much he knew, and all he had to do now as find him, "Wait for me, Tallulah, I'm coming." He murmured as he flew, determined to find him sooner then later.

Reunited in Aisko
Tallulah was walking along, his new orb in his mouth, his bright eyes scanning back and forth for any sort of possible danger or better yet some sort of clue that might lead him to where the Diabi Drakein might be at the moment. Thus far he'd come across no messy, bloody areas that spoke of the presence of Eyphah but he was certain that if he kept looking that he would find something. Eyphah said that he was going to Aisko and Tallulah was certain that he was here. All he had to do was figure out where exactly he was now that he was here himself... and give that he'd gotten himself one of the pretty Aiskala orbs he felt a lot better meeting up with his powerful friend as well. It would have been rather embarrassing to go to the Diabi empty handed given that Tallulah was more then certain that the Drakein likely had a whole mass of these pretty orbs by now. He just hoped that he hadn't fallen so far behind in his training that Eyphah would scold him.
Tallulah paused mid step when he would have sworn that he heard Eyphah's voice calling out his name, something that made the Merkein sigh a little bit, "I think that maybe I am getting too attached to him." He murmured to himself, not liking the fact that he might be hearing things now due to the fact that he had been searching for so long without much in the way of luck. Had the Diabi waited for him already? What if he had decided that Tallulah wasn't coming and moved on to... well, wherever it was that he would be going next so that he could begin his hunts anew. He couldn't really say that he liked the idea, not in the least bit, but at the same time he really didn't think that Eyphah would do that. Sure, the Diabi weren't the nicest clan in the world but Eyphah was different, he was special, he'd been raised by a clan of Gaili in fact so he was in many ways even more special due to that. He wouldn't just leave because Tallulah was a little bit late, of that the Merkein was certain!
Tallulah found himself dragged out of these thoughts when he heard his name again, this time louder and from right over head. It was something that caused him to jerk his head up, starring with wide eyes up at the Diabi that was hovering over head, "Eyphah!" He squeaked out, his words a little garbled by the fact that he had an orb in his mouth. He was quick to spit it out into his forefoot before he called out to him again, "Eyphah! There you are! I've been looking everywhere!" He said, rushing over to the Diabi the moment that he landed so that he could happily, thought carefully, nuzzle against his spiky friend. It had been far, far too long if you asked Tallulah and he wanted nothing more then to curl up with his friend somewhere warm so that they could chat about everything that had happened since they'd parted ways some time ago in Eowyn.
Eyphah starred down at the cuddly, purring Merkein, then gave a bit of a chuckle, "You've been looking everywhere, huh? Funny since I have been doing the same." How the two of them had managed to completely fail at finding each other for a while despite both of them looking for the other was a bit amusing to the Diabi, "No matter, we found each other now and we can see about catching up, what do you say?" He murmured, glancing back and forth to make sure that nobody was around before he nuzzled Tallulah back. He wasn't the sort that did a whole lot in the way of affection, especially not where anyone might see, but he supposed that in the middle of the frozen lands of Aisko there would likely be very few people watching the two of them as they greeted one another. He could allow for a bit of friendliness for the moment so long as Tallulah didn't get too accustom to it.
"Come on, I found a cave, it should be big enough for the two of us to squeeze into and it should be a lot warmer in there then out here." He said, motioning for Tallulah to follow him. There was so much to talk about he thought to himself. He wanted to know all about Tallulah's journey into the ocean, how his battles against the Peisio Dragons had gone, how many orbs he'd collected while they were apart, and if the one he had in his forefoot was the first of what Eyphah hoped would be many Aiskala orbs that the Merkein meant to gather for himself, "We have a lot to discuss! I have been patiently waiting for you in fact even though I feel like I should be out hunting down the Celestial Dragon himself at the moment." The Blood Moon had put him in such a wild mood that even that, which was probably the worst idea in the world, seemed to be a good plan at the moment. He really should try to find a better way to distract himself... and if there was anything he could distract himself with at the moment it was Tallulah.
Maybe he could take charge of his training again, tell him where to find a lot of Aiskala, how best to fight them, and otherwise cheer him on when it came to fights in Aisko. If they went about it that way then they could possibly leave together once Tallulah was ready since Eyphah himself was more then ready to leave this too icy, too quiet, too boring land behind and return home to Eowyn. He was going to have to speak with his mother after all, plan out his next step as far as his journey was involved, pack all his orbs up, and be off to... well, where ever it was that he needed to go to become a Drakeinian, "Here we are, my humble abode." He said, motioning to Tallulah to head inside first.
Tallulah peeked into the entrance of the icy gave then gave a smile, "Looks good, better then staying out here that's for sure." He said before he headed inside, so glad to be back with his good friend and teacher. While the trip home had been well and good he was far happier to be back with Eyphah for reasons he didn't understand. He moved to settled down in the dug up area of earth, leaving enough room for Eyphah, and once the Diabi joined him the two of them started to chat, catching up on everything that they had missed during their time apart. Sure, it wasn't that long, it just felt like ages was all, and the there seemed to be so much ground to cover between the various hunts they'd been on, orbs they'd collected, things they'd seen, others they had met, and what their future plans were from here. In fact it wasn't until late into the night that the two of them seemed to finally finish up and decided that rest was in order before Tallulah's training began anew in the morning.

Escorting Tallulah to Eowyn
It was only after Tallulah felt as though he had learned all that he could from the Aiskala dragons that the time came that they were going to return to Eowyn. It was time for them to see about trying to fight the dragons there once more, the Gaili specifically, though they would need to do so alone. At least that was what it was that Eyphah had told his Merkein friend. It wasn't that he didn't want to get some battles in against the Gaili but there was something else that was on his mind, something more important, but he wasn't going to bring that up, not yet at least. Before he told Tallulah about his up and coming plans he had to get him back to Eowyn, hand him over to Eyphah's Gaili Drakein mother, and have the Merkein stay for a time with the clan. He knew that the Merkein would want to continue on with his hunts, and Eyphah wanted him to do so as well, but he felt that it would be best for him to be with the clan. It was one way to keep him safe and protected while he was away on his most important errand after all.
Eyphah looked into the large cook pot that they had put all of their Aiskala orbs into, knowing full well how many of them he had versus how many of them that Tallulah had, "We will stop by the edge of the water first so that you can take your orbs and bring them to your stash." He figured that it would be best that way, the Merkein would be in the water anyway, might as well get his orbs squared away first, then they would drop off Eyphah's orbs in his lair, then on to dropping Tallulah himself off with the clan of Drakein in Eowyn. He trusted his mother and his family to look after the Merkein in his absence and help him along with his training. While Eyphah had the desire to take Tallulah along with him on his journey he wasn't sure how dangerous it would be, best that the Merkein stay where it was safe and allow him to venture out to parts unknown on his own.
Tallulah looked up from inspecting the orbs that were gathered in the cookpot, something that he found to be a rather amusing sight, before he gave a nod, "That sounds like a good idea. I am eager to put my orbs together with the other ones." He had so many of them now, surely he had to be getting close to what would be enough to reach his goal, right? He wasn't really sure though... he couldn't help but to wonder how many orbs he had in comparison to Eyphah. Was his collection even close? Maybe he could count them while he was at his stash then see if Eyphah would tell him how many was in his sand covered lair when they went there? He knew that would be difficult, to get the Drakein to share such a thing with him, he wasn't exactly the best at sharing when it came to his orbs after all. If anyone had a chance at learning the exact number though Tallulah felt that it would be him... or, well, maybe Eyphah's mother, though that was likely it. He doubted that there were any others that Eyphah would share that sort of information with and for good reason, there were thieves out there and even Tallulah knew better then to share something like that with anyone but those he trusted most.
"I can't wait to see how many orbs I have in total when I put the Aiskala ones alongside what I already have." The Merkein said in a happy tone of voice before he gave his friend a bright smile, "And I can't wait to get back to where it's warm! I want nothing more then to bask in the sun for a while once we reach Eowyn!" Before he'd had moments where he found himself disliking the place greatly, not wanting to be there due to the heat and the sand... and now he missed both things greatly. Aisko had to be one of Tallulah's least favorite places due to all of the snow and the cold. Anyone that lived in this place had his respect but it was most certainly not where he wanted to spend his days. No, he would much rather stick with Eowyn since it was warm there, had easy access to the ocean, was fairly close to where his mother and clan were found, and where his stash was hidden. It being where Eyphah lived also gave it a lot of bonus points in the mind of the Merkein though that he'd keep secret, not wanting ot seem too clingy when it came to his teacher.
Eyphah nodded, "I am eager to reach the warm sands of Eowyn too, it feels like it has been a frozen eternity since I have been there." He agreed, eager to see his clan again, to talk to his mother about what it was that he planned to do, and so on. The very first step, that being leaving Aisko, was what was most important though. Like Tallulah he was a bit burnt out on the cold weather and blinding snow storms that seemed to last longer then they should. He was only too happy to leave behind the ice cave for someone else to find. Lifting himself up onto his back legs he caught hold of the edges of the cauldron, "Alright, let's be off then." He said, motioning with his head toward the water and Tallulah hurried in that direction, eager to dive in since that would mean they were on their way home. Eyphah gave a bit of a smile before he took to the air, the two of them heading toward Eowyn in a joyous manner. While he was sure that Tallulah would be grumpy with him later he was glad to see the Merkein smiling now. It was something he'd enjoy now along with the flight home, one that seemed to get warmer and more enjoyable the closer they got to their destination. Not long now Eyphah thought to himself, his heart already beating hard in his chest.
As Eyphah flew along Tallulah looked up at him from where he was swimming in the ocean, looking as though he were thinking hard on something. He seemed to know that Eyphah was up to something, the very air around the Diabi said so. He wasn't sure what he was planning, likely another big hunt against a mass of powerful dragons, but Tallulah trust him. Thus far Eyphah had never steered him wrong after all. He would just have to wait until Eyphah told him where they were going next and he'd follow... though he would hope against hope that it was somewhere warm like Eowyn instead of frigid like Aisko.

It Is Time
His prediction had been pretty spot on about Tallulah being upset with him when the news of what it was that the Diabi was plotting had come to light. It was a plan that wasn't told to the Merkein until long after they had reached Eowyn and the two of them had joined up with Eyphah's clan. The had been more then happy to welcome the Merkein into their ranks even if he wasn't anything like them, no reason to complain though given how different from them Eyphah was, and it had seemed perfect. Of course the moment he was done introducing him to everyone one and done making sure he was comfortable with them Eyphah's big, Gaili mother had appeared, looking him over, and asked where it was that he was heading next. Not exactly how he had wanted to broach the subject but it had been too late to turn back since his mother had so helpfully got the conversation going on her own.
From there he'd explained it to her, to the clan, and to Tallulah, that the power of the Blood Moon was what he felt he needed to give him that last important push that would allow him to become a Drakeinian. He had orbs, a whole cauldron full of them, which he felt should be more then enough to aid him in his efforts. All he needed now was to figure out where it was that he was supposed to go and what it was that he was supposed to do so that he could actually attain the power that he was after. There had been a long silence after his announcment and his mother finally came to him, telling him where he needed to go, who he needed to talk to, and that he would likely be put through the wringer to make sure that he was in fact Drakeinian material. She told him to be careful, as any mother would, and told him that she would see to it that Tallulah was kept safe. As much as it embarrassed Eyphah it seemed as though his mother was able to tell that the Merkein was important to him. Probably a good thing, it meant that she would take good care of him while he was away.
It wasn't long after his talk with his mother that the huffy, unhappy Tallulah had approached him and he had finally figured out why he was so upset. It wasn't just that Eyphah was leaving him behind again but it was also because Eyphah being ready to become a Drakeinian seemed to show Tallulah exactly how far behind he was in comparison. He wanted to be strong too, wanted to be like Eyphah, and it seemed Eyphah leaving on this task had lit a fire under Tallulah, probably a good thing since it meant that he was going to help drive the Merkein ever foward. Once he got back, were he lucky enough to become Drakeinian, he would just have to see about helping Tallulah once more with is training. He wanted to see him made strong after all... though he supposed that if he wasn't able to become a Drakeinian that the two of them would just have to train together to make sure that they got it all figured out together. He much prefer not to lose though.
Glancing down at the cauldron he was carrying, which was filled with a rainbow of different dragon orbs he gave a smile, "I will do it." He told himself, not about to think for even a moment that he would fail at this. He had been working hard, fighting hard, doing everything that was required of him to reach his goal. He couldn't wait! He'd become so damn powerful when he because Drakeinian and when he did he would have a form that allowed him to walk through the world with his head held high and all the other Drakein would know better then to screw with him. It would be glorious! He couldn't wait to see them bend knee and bow before him he thought to himself in a gleeful manner... then gave a sort of gasping sound as he spotted the one that he had come to meet and he couldn't help but to be in awe. Not only was it a Drakeinian, in the flesh, but it was a rather monstrous one, and a Diabi at that. This made him that much more delighted, to know that he would be seen in the same manner as that one. He would have that power, that form, and he would revel in it! Grinning to himself he started down toward the one that he was meant to meet with, eager to begin.

Despite a few hiccups along the way and the fact that Eyphah isn't the best when it comes to magical stuff, much preferring the might of his claws, he is able to go through the ritual that is laid out before him by the Drakeinian and comes out of it as one himself.
