He who seeks trouble is cursed to find that which he searches.

Aisko was an unforgiving wasteland; in many ways harsher than a desert, for where a desert made its intentions clear; the snow and ice were as harsh a mistress as any leather-clad-steel-toed harlot in darkened alleys of Soudana. Aisko lured her victims in with stunning white tundras, with the soft kiss of snow and then from her frigid skirts, arose the scream of dragon heads and the lick of shredding claws.

He'd come here to search for the most resplendent of prey; rare fish of a rich taste that only dwelt in the iced over lakes of this realm; hoping to net a dinner that he'd tasted once before in a fine restaurant, back in more civilized, acclimatized lands. For Gellion, the fear of the rare, solitary dragons that dwelled up here was a distant chance; they were shy of visitors, rumour had it; the Aiskala had little interest in travellers or so he'd heard.

So it should have been something of a surprise, when, stopping in the hopes of relieving an over-full bladder, a hiss behind him caught him, quite painfully, with his pants literally down.

Like a snarling hydra, white-on-white, invisible in the distance, three beastial heads rose from the frost and bitter ache of the cold to his right. Blue eyes stared at the Oblivionite, meeting his soulless orbs with their fury.

Gellion felt that he handled his surprise quite well; as a smile quickly split his face. Any other intelligent creature would have fled; but instead, he merely tucked himself back safely in his pants and drew his sword.

And then, his smile turned predatory. It shouldn't have; these creatures were not like Ysali, they were not the sort of beast that one could hunt in the safety of deep forests; the slow-witted, easy prey that most any skilled warriror might handle. These were the sort that men died of exposure in a quest to find; let alone join in battle. One such beast would have been amply more than he could handle; they were on guard; aggressive, ready to teach this foolish boy the ere of passing their territory; not at ease, not at rest. But he did enjoy a fight, he enjoyed the thrill of taking on an opponent who might be too much; too good. How else was he to rise in power?

The first swipe was a blinding furrow in the whiteness of the surrounding wastes; a claw that emerged from no where; a cat playing with a mouse; only this mouse was fast and struck back; his blade drawing a gash against the dragon's paw; crimson sprayed across the pure white snow and the Aiskala's cry grew enraged.

They came at him in full then; faster than he was trained for; faster than he thought possible; huge bodies; sleek white flanks; all claws and sharpness; beastial roars of a hunter with prey.

He wasn't smiling much any more; his sword flashing; parrying in a desperate motion from one onslaught to the next. perhaps he could have held off one; perhaps he might have escaped two; but as three of them assaulted him; he soon realized that he would tire before them; and with superior speed and strength; it wouldn't take much.

A mouth snapped at his flank; and he dove; right into a claw for his head; ducked; and a spiked tail thumped the ground where he was standing.

He rolled, scrambled and soon realized that they were merely still playing with him as he was herded from one side to another; he fell over a frozen boulder; buying half a second of breathing room as they pursued; and then- it was not enough.

Blood and a fierce cry echoed from his lips as the young Oblivionite felt white hot agony from the smash of a tail into his side; his own dark blood splattered the ground; his teeth gritting, snapped sharply shut as he fought back the yell the beast might have elicited in a weaker mind. He might die today, might be eaten like a farm-animal; but he'd not go down without a fight.

A savagery gripped the youngling, a darkness that had its place in his heart, consumed whatever passion passed for a man inside him; and he leapt. His sword took the offending tail with it and the Aiskala screamed its rage; blood sprayed, droplets splattered; the snow stained.

It had been snowing all night, leaving Eyphah stuck in his underground ice cave for longer then he would have liked. It was boring, painfully so, being alone in Aisko with nothing to do but hunt. There were times when the battles against the Aiskala felt almost too easy because of the way that their blood showed up so brightly again the snow... but he had to remind himself that it was nothing to complain about. He wanted, no needed, their orbs, and even if the battle itself seemed too easy to be exciting he had to think about the glittering prize at the end. It was this thinking that had gotten him through the boring night and soon enough he was emerging from his ice cave, having hidden his previous orbs inside it, and he looked around, "Eesh, as though there weren't enough snow before." He muttered to himself as he took in the fresh snow that had fallen.

If nothing else as least it was good for hiding his tracks which would keep others from finding his temporary shelter he thought to himself. He had to keep looking for the bright side of things when it came to this horrible, frozen land, and keep his eyes firmly on his own. Giving a great yawn the Diabi Drakein found himself debating over what it was that he was going to do today. Likely the same thing that he did every day, but in which direction did he want to go this... time... wait. Was that... blood? Lifting his head the dark colored Drakein set to sniffing at the air, then licked his maw in a hungry manner. He was more then certain that it was blood, fresh blood, and not only was it the blood of the Aiskala but it was also the blood of a two-legs, Oblivionite he'd guess. This was such a wonderful thing to wake up to! Not only would this mean a chance at some easy orbs since there were wounded dragons out there but there was also the chance of getting breakfast in the form of a two-legs. If he went about everything the right way maybe he could get a hunk of dragon flesh as well. Mmm... the idea of Oblivionite and Aiskala for breakfast had the Diabi all but drooling.

"Alright, well I know it is I'm going." He said to himself, opening up his wings, gave them a couple flaps, and took to the air. He would see about getting a good look at the dragon that was out there as well as the two-legs, make his plan, and then attack whichever one was weakest first, finish them off, then turn his attention to the other one! That was the plan at least, though as he found himself circling overhead like a carrion bird he realized that it wasn't a plan that would work out, was it? Not only was the two-legs far, far to small to be in anyway filling it would seem as though the Aiskala wasn't alone. Interesting... he'd seen them in groups of two a few times but three, three was different. Three was also nice he thought to himself, more then eager to walk away from the scene with three new, beautiful, sparkling Aiskala orbs. Not to mention he could still aim to make a meal of the dragons, right? Not as tasty as a mix of two different types of meat for breakfast but it would have to due. With that thought in mind he closed his wings, going into a dive, aiming himself for one of the Aiskala.

Eyphah crashed into one of them going full speeding, sending the creature flying... and the moment his feet touched the snow he was charging along after the beast, tearing into it with his sharp teeth, scythe like claws, and tail barb. He made fast work of the first one, leaving behind nothing but a mass of bloody snow a pair of glittering orbs as he whirled around the charge toward the other two. For the moment they were the most important thing to be had, maybe later though once the battle was over he might realize that he'd crossed paths with this two-legs before.

The Oblivionite had turned to regard his Aiskala opponents with a savage snarl of challenge but their attention soon lost interest on the obviously outmatched apprentice and switched to the Diabli that had just come out of nowhere and torn through one of their rank.

Growling and howls ensured and the other two Aiskala charged at the Diabli, forgetting about their fun with the small two-legger as they recognized a legitimate threat. Although, Gellion could have taken the chance to make a run for it; he could have walked away with his limbs all attached; but Gellion was burning with the inner fire of his own excitement and he quickly rushed after the tussle.

The fighter managed to sink his sword between one of the Aiskala's toes before the other kicked him away with an irritated backhanded motion and he went flying into the edge of a rock; vision suddenly blurring with the motion.

The Diabi's maw pulled back into a bit of a smirk when he saw the other two turn their attention to him, his tail lashing back and forth in a delighted manner, "Let's see." He murmured to himself, taking in the wounds that the dragons had received from the Oblivionite. The boy was out number, out matched, but the fact that he still tried was impressive. Had he been nothing more then a weakling he would likely have been eaten up already but the fact that he'd drawn blood with that little sword of his actually impressed the Diabi. Spotting the one that had a slight limp from a cut to the forefoot his tail set to lashing even more, crouching down as he prepared to lunge... when the Oblivionite attacked once more. It seemed that he wasn't giving up, huh? Good, the more wounds the two-legs gave them the easier it would be for him to take them apart.

A shame though that he was knocked aside so quickly, landing in such a manner that Eyphah couldn't help but to wonder if he were alive for not. Best that he check up on him... though not yet, not until the battle was over. If he was alive, he'd see to it he stayed that way, if he was dead... well, it wouldn't have been Eyphah who killed him so eating him would then become an option. With that thought in mind he lunged forward, going for the throat of the dragon with the bloody forefoot. His jaws snapped down on the vulnerable area, his forefeet grabbed hold, and he set to kicking away at the Aiskala with his back feet in a violent and rapid manner... and as he felt the life fading from the dragon along with the blood that it was losing he pushed off the the dying dragon and crashed into the other one, biting and clawing at it as well.

The battle was a harsh and bloody one but it was also a wonderfully exciting one, one that made the Diabi happy to have stumbled across what should have been an ill-fated fight as far as the little two-legs was concerned. He made rather good bait, didn't he? Something he made a mental note of as he set about ending the life of the third Aiskala. It was then that he turned back to the second one, it was fading fast... so he would have to be just as fast he thought to himself as he rushed back to it, using his tail barb to remove a good portion of the tail from the rest of the Aiskala. It allowed that part to stay behind even as the rest faded away, "Mmm, and we have breakfast!" He said, drooling a bit as he licked his maw, studying the hunk of dragon meat in delight. Now, to go and see if it would be a meal of just dragon or if two-legs was back on the menu he thought to himself as he turned his attention to the Oblivionite whelp, stalking over toward him.

It took Gellion a few moments before he managed to sit up; his vision blurring violently and his gaze fading in and out as he tried to orientate himself he touched his head and came away with blood. Fantastic, as if there wasn't enough blood everywhere.

The small Oblivionite fumbled in the snow until his hand closed over his sword and he managed to wrap his cold hands around the hilt. His pulse was thready, breath misting in the air as he slowly pulled himself to his feet; the fight was already over; and suddenly he saw the larger winner heading his direction. He didn't think he'd fare very well against something that had just taken out three other dragons; and was.... had it found a way to eat parts of the Aiskala? Gellion's lips twitched as he spoke what might be his last words; but he didn't mind if they clashed and this impressive specimen won, devourering him... as long as it answered one question that had been bothering him for so long....

"What do they taste like?" he was motioning to the hunk of tail that the Diabi had torn into, eyeing it like he wondered if it should be broiled or raw with rices. It was clear that if the Diabi did attack, the Oblivionite wouldn't survive the clash; he was already injured, but he held himself in a light stance; ready to go down fighting; if only until the mystery of what dragon tasted like was finally solved. If he could find out how to separate parts of the dragon so it could be devoured.... oh; that would be the best endeavour; what was the trick?

It could be hard to read emotions from a man with no eyes, only black pits, but his was mostly just innocent curiosity.

When he realized that the two-legs was alive and well the Diabi was actually pleased. Sure, this meant that he wouldn't have two types of meat with his breakfast but it meant that he had actually kept the little whelp from becoming a snack for the Aiskala. He wouldn't admit it out loud but he didn't care for seeing young things eaten, it seemed like something that only a weakling would do. He much preferred to eat strong, powerful, and delicious prey... and this boy was most certainly not what he felt should be on the menu. Maybe one he was older and battling it out against the Orderites in Eowyn, then he would make a meal of him.

When the two-legs whelp was suddenly asking him about what the Aiskala tasted like he couldn't help but to be amused, even giving a bit of a chuckle, "They are a nice taste to them, a sharp sort of taste to them." He said, trotting over to where the chunk of meat was laying, "It has a lot of fat on it, likely since they need to keep themselves warm somehow. Hrm... I wish I had my cook pot." If he had that with him he could toss this in, cook the meat down in its own fat, it would be amazing.

Pausing for a moment he seemed to realize the fact that he was with a two-legs, one that would know the location of a two-legs village, and he turned slowly to look over at him with his glowing eyes, "You! Two-legs, you owe me for saving your hide... so you are going to find me a new cauldron to cook this up in. Do so and I might share with you." He ordered the Oblvionite before he speared the Aiskala tail with his tail barb, lifting it up off the ground, then set to work gathering the orbs, "Half of these orbs are yours as well, you did make for good bait after all. Come get them." He wasn't going to be carrying everything he thought to himself before he picked his own trio of orbs up in his mouth, motioning for the boy to follow. He'd drop the orbs off in his temporary lair along with the meat and then they would be off to get the cook pot!
