Something that Kirien did remind him of home, looking out around again as they looked through the inventions he was reminded that even though he’s lived in Atlas for so long most of the time he was either training his semblance with his little brother, stuck inside except the times he went out at night, or was just stuck as a god damn doll. He couldn’t even really remember his parents faces now that he thought about it. Distracted by this he almost didn’t catch on when he heard the sound of someone bumping into them, looking over to Kirien his hand extended out instinctively grabbing ahold of the back of her shirt stopping her decent a few inches from the cement” My it really is quite crowded isn’t it. I do hope your alright” Alestor would attempt to help the young lady up before taking a step back as her attention went back to the girl with the odd device. Taking a back seat he simply listened to the two talk about what exactly the platform maker did.
Tilting his head he didn’t quite understand how something like this was not more popular even if one platform lasted about thirty seconds. Having something like this around would make 3 dimensional fighting so much easier in his opinion. If it could make multiple platforms at a time this would be a perfect device for his fighting style. Though his attention was drawn away just for a moment when the sound of something ruffling around caused him to look down seeing what he assumed was a tail being wagged under the young ladies skirt. Really she seemed just like a mechanic he met about 80 years ago. Smiling Alestor moved closer to the stand observing the device abit more “ Hmmm are you looking for investors by any chance?”
Oberon stood up, he was finished with his meal, he got to "know" most of the associates he assumed he would be working with, and at this point he was done talking. Oberon stood up looking around the room while still glazing over Nejina's presence, "Well, it was nice meetin you all." Oberon grabbed his case and began to walk away, "Call me if you need me boss." He gave a small dismissive wave as he left the restaurant. It was about that time anyway. Oberon could keep him away for a good while but eventually he would need to wake up, better to just let him. The plan was to meet back at where he was staying and rest awhile, what happens next wasn't up to Oberon unless he was willing to force it, "Well... looks like I'm going to down for a while, but not out."
It was a nice warm Sunday, the sun shining upon the streets of Vale. People were running about, happy as they could be as the parents were working on teaching their children the way of the world and traffic men made sure no one got ran over. Yet, a horrid scream could be heard coming from an alleyway which caught a few people's attention and soon enough more screams could be heard. The police had to have been called as a few cars arrived along with an ambulance. Sealing the area off and keeping the on-lookers at bay, the police and the EMTs entered the alleyway to examine what was going on. The scene they saw was not a good sign of what was to come.
A body, covered in cuts and bruises was found and yet left in a strange state of joy. Their face contorted into a smile as they were on their knees, looking up with their hands reaching for the sky. It didn't take long for the EMTs to dictate that the cause of death on the scene was via a throat slash that had left the victim dead, but what confused them all was the body was in a state of rigor mortis already. The body was cold, but even the EMT's scrolls showed no signs of decay but the last thing they saw on the scene, left scrawled on the walls in what could possibly be the victim's blood were letters that spelled out. "Judgement is here!" Confused, and decided this was a homocide case, they called in a detective to do the work and figure out what was going on before yelling at the people to leave.

__Vale: True Town News__ Starring: Kati Katswell as your News Anchorwoman!
"Greetings to all you smooth beings out there, my name is Kati Katswell, and welcome to the True Town News. It's been six months since the passing of one Miss Arachne, who was found in an abandoned park some time ago when reports of her disappearance were making headlines a few months ago. When the announcement of her death and the coroner informing everyone the remains indeed matched before dusting away, it shook the Faunus community down to their very core. The Female known as Ms. Webb was an adored member of the community and a very prominent head of nobility to the Faunus living here today. While she will be missed, it is still unknown as to who or what caused her death unlike our other dead people known as Argent Roydon and Eszter Sasan. Their bodies, found near a rundown church, were in some states of decay but their coroners were able to deduce their cause of death thanks to some nearby evidence of a manticore attack that reduced their life spans down to zero." She spoke so curtly, and so matter of factly as the blue-haired feline faunus adjusted her seating as she moved the papers before her and cleared her throat.
"In other news, this is now the 3rd day the town of Vale has been experiencing it's dust Shortage thanks to Aurtrox's recent move with the Military and pulling some students along for the ride over to try and Reclaim Atlas. People are still managing but some businesses are filing for Bankruptcy since without certain dusts, certain businesses can't maintain their energy, or in some circumstances, easy to make food." She goes quiet for a moment as a video played beside her. 'In the span of 48 hours, this one particular family business of Humans had to file for Bankruptcy as they have been unable to pay their bank for the building on time. This happened while they had next to no fire dust to help make their quote-unquote 'Fastest Food' and with nowhere else to turn to, they have to leave. We tried to reach for a comment but they were not willing to respond.' The video fades away as she adjusts her blouse a bit and looked to the camera as she leaned down. "The military, the fights, reclaiming atlas, and rampant dust shortages, some people have had their wits end tested by all that has been happening within the past six months from the reckless deaths, the students risking their lives on dangerous missions without proper safety, and the city had been held up at stake with a mad man's tournament threatening a Grimm invasion. We've had some statements taken and here is what the people had to say."
The footage changed from Kati at her desk to a random assortment of videos with passerby being questioned on their thoughts of the current state of Vale. Human Male: "You ask me, about the state of our city? Open yer eyes, we've been fockin' trying to survive everything that has been going on and yet we're still taking in focking refugees. The whole stinkin' town is filled with us barely trying to live and we get Atlesians taking up space on the streets!"
Faunus Female[Vale-born]: "Everything has been going great up until the death of Ms. Webb, she always had a good head on her shoulders and often helped me to understand human traditions. When she passed away, it just felt like I lost one of the only strands of understanding the humans here in Vale and those who are coming in with their new traditions makes even less sense than it did before."
Atlesian Family Survivor[Father, Mother, and Son, Father speaks]: "We've managed to barely escape what could've been one terrible crap town just to come here, to a place where people claim to hold no prejudice yet I can see their biases written on their face. Everything my wife and I had were stolen from us or we had to sell to live day to day basically on scraps. I can't tell if Vale is barely holding itself together, or if it's just hiding the cracks of it's arse behind some tall jeans like that wall of theirs!"
The feed cuts back to Katswell, in the process of finishing applying her lip-balm as she relaxes her stance to look at the camera once more. She clears her throat and looks up calmly. "In more saddening news, recently someone had been found dead 15 hours ago and their identity has been clarified as a man named: Tostada Elegant. A chef for a specialized Faunus food joint here in Vale. Reports of his last known whereabouts before the time of his death are very few and far between as the people ask questions. But only the detective an the coroner will be the ones privy to that knowledge first before we can get it back to you. Stay tuned for in 30 minutes you will learn if your Scroll is secretly a government spying device with this hidden trick. This is Kati Katswell, stay safe out there." As she finished the line, the crew helped to go on break as she breathed an exhaled sigh, getting up with her suit and make-up looking lovely while she walked away. "Assistant, help the next guy set up, I'm going on my date." She told her understudy who meekly nodded their head and watched as Kati left with a flick of her tail.
As she walked out of the studio into the night of the glowing headlamps, she pulled out a cigarette to light it and smoke. "Tch.. shitty job doesn't pay me well enough to read out those morbid pieces of crap.... and what the hell is with those people? 'Oh I had to sell everything to live off the street or it was stolen from me!' Give me a break, you could've gone to crime, half the people seem to be doing that." She talked to herself as she got to the corner, taking a puff of her cig as her ride showed up. "Hmph, took you long enough." She stated as she looked down into the car, the windows were rolled up but she shrugged and opened it, getting into the car before it began to drive. It only took 10 minutes before she was screaming...
An hour later the car was discovered having crashed into a local dinery with a macabre scene. Katy was in her seat fully leaned back with her date's torso on her own. There in Katy's head was essentially a short sword that had embedded her head to the headrest and yet her face was contorted painfully into a smile while the male's torso seemed to be wired up and held onto the short sword with a death grip. The Coroner had noticed the rigor mortis on this one as well along with the fact the lower half of his body remained in the driver's seat, the foot firmly on the pedal. On the backseat of the car, blood had been mixed with a strange chemical to show up easier on the UV-Light as it spoke. "VLTR decree DEATH!"
╔════════════RENA KIYOKO════════════╗ After hearing the recent news, and hearing about her mother needing to head into town, Rena would go to meet with her mom over by the supermarket in town. The supplies she was getting were obviously for dinner tonight since they do live relatively close in walking distance, but the lack of a car made it to where Rena and her have to walk the streets at night. "You know mom... you could ask me and Ren to help foot a bill for a car if you want to get groceries this late. Haven't you seen the news?" She asked of her mother as she just clicked her tongue and shook her head. "Whoever it is that is trying to kill all those people doesn't realize it won't be long before the police get them. Besides, I feel safe knowing one of my children is here to protect me! Plus, getting a car is way too expensive, first you pay the down payment and then you have to pay monthly payments to even keep the damn thing, what is the point?!"She told Rena in response, moving over to hug her daughter as while Rena and Ren were both lanky, their mother was a bit on the muscular end. Rena couldn't help but feel embarrassed but nodded her head.
Their walk took them down a small path, normally hidden to the general populace as Rena and Ren had often run through this path as kids to practice their free-running time before school. However, during the walk, Rena could feel something was off here. Her mother didn't have rabbit ears like Rena or Ren, but instead, she was a naturally gifted elk faunus with a very luxurious pair of horns. It didn't take long for Rena to slowly pick up the pace as her mother, confused as she was, had to pick up the pace."Sweetie, why are you making mama jog?"She asked her daughter and before they knew it, something managed to slip past and get before them both, catching Rena and her mother off guard to stop them. The lighting of the town made it hard to discern their face, but her mother was able to recognize them."Rena! Do you know who this is?! It's Katy Katswell! We're gonna be on tv!"Her mother was excited, but Rena could feel something was off, and while her mother was setting down her backs of booze and food, the glass clinking about, Rena and the person launched an attack. The being seemed to be brandishing a butcher's knife that Rena herself managed to kick back. The sound caught her mother's attention who looked over to see Katy stumbling backwards.
"Hey! I raised you better than to hit a woman or a newsanchor lady, wait... that was Ren.... I raised you to not hit a newsanchor lady though! What are you doing?!"As she asked, she and Rena both heard an ungodly wail coming from the creature as steps could be heard. Rena set her groceries down and got into a battle stance as her mother looked about, at first she was scared but when she could hear the grinding of steel among stone, her instincts of defense kicked in and she herself tensed up. In the dark shadows of the area, a body was flung out towards Rena who ducked and yelled to her mother, only to see the mom turn about and grab the torso. It latched onto her but with where her hand was, it couldn't bite and it didn't take much to rip the torso off and fling it at Katy Katswell. Their bodies collided as Rena moved around, kicking from the ground up at another familiar-looking body, it was the man on the news. 'Tostada Elegant?! Isn't he suppose to be dead?!'She managed to make it stumble back, but as she was standing up she was dropkicked from behind by a pair of legs. She stumbled forward, looking to what caught her aura before she took a lead pipe to her back from Mr. Elegant. She gasped out as while her aura reduced the full effect, she still felt the damage while she fell into a roll to get away.
Her mother wasn't faring any better as she was in a fist brawl with someone using a knife and a torso trying to grab at her legs. She was managing to evade getting a fatal butcher cut, but getting one chop into her arm was sending Katy into a frenzy that she had to ram her horns at her to knock her away. But at this point, she wasn't fully prepared when the Torso managed to get a full lock on her leg and began to scramble up. An arm wrapped around her throat and she was in a headlock with her horns now lodged and pressing against this man's chest. She grunts and reached her hands up to try and pull his arm off of her. Her left arm was in too much pain to really help and she could see Katy coming in while Rena dashed in and tripped up the lady with a hard leg sweep. She then runs over to help her mom in pulling off the torso as it growled at them both. Seeing how much blood her mom was losing from her left arm, Rena was getting worried as she barely managed to pry the arm off for her mother to throw the Torso at Katy to keep her down. She was breathing a bit heavily but as she turned around to keep on her toes, her body went stiff.
Rena noticed her mother's stilted movements as she was trying to reach behind her before the legs came at her to try and attack her. This kept Rena on the ropes up until a lead pipe was thrown at her head, knocking her aura out and staggering her for the legs to sweep her. As the creatures begin to converge on both of them, her mother managed to regain some senses and grabbed what was behind her, a cloaked figure that she pulled from behind and threw them at the wall nearby. The mother glared as the creatures all turned their focus, save for the legs and the legs began to try and stomp out Rena, stomping on her body and her head as the attacks were gradually getting weaker. Her mother began to charge at the legs, only to take a thrown butcher knife in her leg as it lodged itself into the side of her left knee. Her movement staggered but as Rena cried out in pain, coughing out a bit of blood, her mother managed to knock the legs away with her right hand. The Torso meanwhile managed to slip near the legs and pulled the knife out, spinning on what was left of its the bottom torso, lodging the butcher knife into the mother's back deeply into the spine. Her mother gasped out in pain as her legs collapsed with her falling over Rena, barely holding over her to avoid putting her weight on top of her child. As she slowly raised her head up, the last creature approached and even with the protests of a weakened Rena, brought the lead pipe down onto the head of her mother, breaking the horns and dropping her down.
After the raging attacks, the creatures moved over to their cloaked figure, helping them up as they quickly vanished. In pain, and still conscious, but barely... Rena pulled out her scroll and activated an emergency signal before passing out. The sounds of sirens coming in the distance with close proximity.
An emergency broadcast was emitted as on the screen was a worried male. ""This is an emergency broadcast, we at True Town News are broadcasting to you live saying that there is a serial killer on the loose. News anchorwoman Katy Katswell was found dead last evening and we have just received reports of sights on more attacks in the city. We are here to plea to everyone to not go out at night and to stay in their homes. We have received word that their bodies have gone missing from a location known as Becky's Funeral Home where their families had paid for them to be put to rest. It was assumed that their bodies were stolen from underneath the Proprietor's nose. We have his words right now. Ahem... 'We of Becky's Funeral Home were taking stock of the bodies that were put to rest in our morgue and to size the bodies up for coffins when the new bodies that were delivered to us were missing as of this morning. We do not know who or what, but we assure you we have no relations to the problems going on and we apologize for the missing bodies and will work with the police to find them.' This comment comes from Solvit of the funeral home. Please, for the life of the town and all that is good, stay safe out there everyone." ╚═════════════TEAM: NONE═════════════╝ PC: 74 OOC:

Time had passed, people were on edge, and they needed something to help calm them down. Luckily, a student from beacon had decided this would be a good opportunity to perform a simple recital. One Mister Siegfried would gather together his instruments and head to the theater as he started to set up on the stage. A small smile on his face as he sat down and awaited the audience behind the curtain. He could hear the audience slowly arrive as he took a single breath in. However, as he breathed in, he could hear something nearby, looking over to the side, he could see a spear flying through towards him. He had to lean back to avoid the attack but what he didn't hear was something there waiting for him. An arm from underneath the floorboards had reached up and grabbed his neck, pulling him down. The sound of his fall were muffled slightly by the curtains hiding the show. He struggled as his instrument of choice, a cello, had fallen over with a crass sound as he kicked about. He was slowly growing angry as he started to punch at the arm.
He could hear more sounds from around him as he looked up. He could see the stage lights from above were moving a bit and with his legs, he pulled his cello close. Opening it up, he pulled out Folly and began to try in desperation play the instrument as much as he generated fist-sized fireballs that came crashing down on the arm around his neck. The creature's arm pulled away as he got up, breathing heavily but he looked around and could see more bodies were close. He glared and prepared Folly as he spoke. "I do NOT appreciate getting my show interrupted before it!" He told them as he began to play the guitar, firing more fireballs at the bodies around him as the first wave managed to cause them to flinch, but as he kept playing more, slowly walking back, he could see them beginning to approach as his attacks did nothing. It wasn't long before something caused him to try that he saw the same arm, this time holding his leg. His eyes widened as he brought folly up and tried to keep them at bay, it wasn't long however when the body of Katy Katswell caught the guitar and mounted on top of him, her back towards him. She held onto the guitar and with a sinister growling giggle, he felt pain. He didn't notice it, but he was feeling it as she hacked away at the leg the arm was holding on. His aura was protecting him but then the other bodies got onto him. The legs started to stomp on his chest as hard as they could while Tostada was swinging his pipe at the boy's head.
It didn't take that many hits from each of them before his aura dropped and he screamed in pain when the first hit of the cleaver sunk into flesh. This caught the attention of the audience, but most were thinking it was part of the act, or so they hoped as more and more screams came from it. It didn't take long before his parents had arrived to watch the show when they heard his screams and began to run over to help. As the sounds of their foot steps could be heard, the leg had been fully removed as the bodies that were on him began to move away. As his parents got to the stage, pulling the curtains enough for them to see, they watched in horror at the aftermath of the attack, with Fefnir holding onto his stump of a leg, blood coming out of the sides of his mouth as he was trying to hold it all together. But then a snap happened.... he was so absorbed in pain that he couldn't react in time when one of the stage lights above had fallen onto him, crushing his ribs and fatally puncturing his heart and lungs. He fell still, as his mother cried out for him.
Fefnir Siegfried Red-Claw was deigned to be the first faunus to take the stage of the 3rd quarter of the year, but what they could was morbidity... and a message. "VLTR demands blood!" It was written behind the curtains but not in blood, in a strange liquid that remains hidden in the dark.
Another day had passed since the accident of Siegfried, whose body had been stolen once again. People were becoming more outraged at the fact that the bodies of those whom had died were being stolen and at this point Akuryo had been kicked out of his own Funeral Home by the banker who told him that so much has happened here that he would best be sent elsewhere. Even if they had no proof or any evidence that wasn't circumstantial, the Banker still had final say and repossessed the building to at least try and minimalize the deeds done. Akuryo was thankful he himself had gotten his stuff out of there but he grumbled and left back home as some peace had been restored slightly. Night had fallen and two people were out and about now, in hopes of trying to do things to ease their nerves or to try and help capture those truly responsible. Oswald was looking for them in his own way, his iron gloves on his arms as he was checking the west side of town close to the slums.
Meanwhile Netami was off and about with her Herja twins, the two mechanical creatures she adored in her making were now being used in their intended purpose. With a mind link established, they combed alongside the rooftops while she walked the ground level. The creatures were moving quickly, maintaining low power usage since they weren't in combat as she noticed one of the street lamps of the east side of town was flickering. She slowly began to approach when... the sound of music could be heard by Oswald. The man himself had also approached a flickering street lamp in the lower slums of the area and a strange sitar sound was catching his attention. He swiftly moved, going and finding the alleyway where he saw a crimson-haired being playing on a sitar. The faint sound of struggling to breathe could be heard. Oswald informed the man he didn't need to be here, and to get... but as he told him, he suddenly began to feel weaker, his body physically beginning to drain in its physical stats as he looked to himself. "Wh...What the?" Oswald got out before behind him a female came out. She raised up a knife, poised to stab at him as she soon swung down.
The pipe that Mr. Tostada wielded had missed and met the ground of the flickering light as Netami looked in shock. She didn't even feel him approaching, but as soon as she ordered her Herja twins to attack, she got a single response. 'THREAT NOT DETECTED.' She was in shock as the man slowly stood back up, looking at her as he began to give chase, causing her to run away from Tostada as quickly as she could. She was a mechanical engineer! Not some fighter obviously... what she didn't know was that her Herja twins had their eyes covered and bodies bound yet with the inability to detect aura or anything... they couldn't find a reason to initiate combat mode. As they barely struggled, the torso and legs began to remove the head with a vicious amount of force and caused lightning to shroud their entire body. Oswald himself would know the feeling as he narrowly avoided the attack but a quick dust shard of lightning at him was coursing through his veins as he felt himself grow weaker by the second. He began to put two and two together as he turned around to try and charge the Sitar playing being before he was tripped up by a wire. Oswald fell down and he fell into more wires that snatched and held him in place.
The Piano wires had Oswald suspended in the air, with no way of garnering leverage from the ground as the wires were around each ankle, each wrist, his neck, and his waist. He struggled in the place, grunting but soon he felt a wave of fire blast through his body from the wires as he had managed to break one but was punished for it. He was running out of time and soon enough, his aura gave out when the lady struck at his back once more with the knife. His flash of aura flickering out as he managed to pull his left arm free. He swung back as a new course of lightning surged through the wires, the current running through his now unprotected body as the lady took his heavy fist to the side of her head. But her knife found his right lung throughout the electric shock. He soon went limp however... as the current had passed through his neck, his arm, legs, and met to stop his heart. The Sitar man continued to play while the lady began to cut down the dead Oswald.
Meanwhile Netami had ran down another place and entered the indoor parking lot. She lost sight of the man as she passed by the occasional car. It wasn't long though before her sense of safety was ruined by a sudden knife at her leg, which she didn't have her aura up for. She winced as she stumbled and landed a bit on the ground, moving a hand over to cover her leg as she winced. She soon saw a hooded figure coming out from underneath a car as Mr. Tostadas was making his way close. "I wouldn't try running." The muddled voice told her from the cloak figure as she clenched her teeth and began to get up, ready to escape before suddenly she felt something give out on her leg. She clenched her teeth and tried to use her aura to heal but when she looked to see the cut, she was shocked to see it had degraded already. Was it a state of decay? She wasn't sure, but she needed to leave. She looked down underneath the vehicles and as Tostada raised the pipe to crush her head, she was gone. Vanished out of sight as she began to try and get back to her feet, 20 feet away using the cars to walk as her right leg wasn't responding to her.
As she was moving, going as quickly as she could, her body started to shut down, her aura healing going badly as while it healed the body's physical wounds, the toxins in her body weren't being purged, and just as she got outside of the parking lot, she collapsed... unconscious and unaware of what happened as a hand reached out from the parking lot to pull her back in. The swift slice of flesh in the sound making it obvious what happened as the scene slowly cuts to a package... it was addressed to Aya, Rin, and Kuro but the post man didn't know who to deliver it too so he instead picked to give it to Aya. Inside the package though... was something she was not expecting to find. A pair of fox ears and a tail, the fur cleaned up to show it belonged to the arctic fox faunus tribe as the bits of flesh still clinging to the parts only revealed that they were removed from the body expertly. Underneath it was a photo of Netami... without her ears and a slice along her throat.
Shamille, Scarlet, and Jules on the other hand would receive a text from one of the other students. The name was Oswald but the text read the following. "Be wary... VLTR is hungry for more..." Along with the text, an image was sent, should they accept it, they would find Oswald's removed hand giving them the bird, with nails puncturing his fingers closed.

Miya had asked permission to be out of school after the events aligned with her sister's and sister-in-law's terms closed ever faster towards them conceiving. Having to also take up shifts at their tea shop, she'd been a very busy tigress. At least until these screwy deaths had started. Even one was reported at Beacon! With her older siblings taking time at night, she'd asked the school for permission to go for this hunt. And...after talking/arguing with her siblings and a couple more deaths to dear friends, they were in agreement; Yukiko and the children would be safer if left at the house with Alex and Kayla while Miya and her two older siblings went out.
At Page Turner book shop with Eterni-Tea closed for now, they had set to plotting their courses. Miya looked to her big brother and sister with a kind but serious expression."I'll take the slums, you and Haru-chan will take the shops around the parking lot,"She confirmed, addressing Ichirou first but meaning both."We need to be careful,"Tsuki thought.
Ichi frowned not liking that his younger sisters were getting involved, but he also would not let them go alone. And with Tsuki's determination and stubbornness like their late father's, he was not going to change her mind. So, the only thing he could do (desired to do) was help in any way he could."Correct. Keep a sharp eye out for any shady people, and try to avoid getting into a fight...Are you sure..."their brother replied, smiling softly when he got an indignant look from the tigress, saying the last part to his second sister."I hope we are all up for this,"he thought, practical but, also a little dread that he would push away as he reminded himself that this was for everyone's benefit.
The elegant tigress looked to her siblings, frowning at her brother in annoyance."Of course. You will be with me, and I'm better at speaking with others than you are,"Haruko pointed out, which both her siblings agreed with. After that was discussed, they would each check their weapons; Yin and Yang concealed pistols for Haru, Tsuki's fans, and only really visible on his back was Ichi's korobokuru lajatang. With one last check, the tiger faunuses would walk out and lock the bookshop."Good luck,"the young woman thought and nodded before the Tora siblings would head out...

Azura waited in front of the police station, Crimson Regret in its holster just below her newly upgraded backpack. Though if half the dust ration, she would need to be careful to only use the new functions if she absolutely had to. Her blue eyes scanned the streets looking for her partner in this investigation - Tsume Aya. She recognized the name as a former student at Beacon, though Azura hadn't seen her around the school in quiet some time. With half the military and some of the students sent over to Atlas, Vale had never been so vulnerable. And so Cecil and Azura had been asked to aid in separate murders. Cecil was investigating the death of a demon faunus in Beacon's very own courtyard while Azura had been sent downtown to meet with Aya and investigate a string of gruesome and bazar murders involving vanishing corpses. Hopefully it would be as simple as the case of elemental Grimm

Class was ending – Thank goodness. That lesson was dreadfully boring, and Kuro was already intimately familiar with the material thanks to his father’s insistent focus on his education as the future tribal leader. He gathered his items and sauntered toward the doorway looking around at his peers. He kept his eye one particular individual as she made her way toward him. “Hello,” Kuro smirked eyeing her directly as she approached his side. The girl looked down sheepishly before returning his greeting. While walking alongside her continuing their conversation, Kuro heard the sound of his scroll from within the confines of his normal, everyday wear pant suit. The unpleasant sound rather annoyed him while he was focused on chatting up his rather attractive classmate. He quickly pushed a button silencing the technology from within his pocket and all the while returning his attention to the cute, young woman accompanying him with a bright smile. “Why don’t we talk more about you,” Kuro smiled in an endearing manner. Her auburn hair covered her eyes in a shy manner, hiding her gentle and soft expressions just from view. The second humming came somewhat expectedly and only furthered to sour the future Arctic Fox leader’s mood. He pulled the scroll from his pocket just enough to look at the information provided – unknown number. It was probably something useless like a promotion to somewhere that he shopped frequently. He silenced the device once again and tucked the scroll back safely into his inner breast pocket turning his attention back to his companion, ‘what was her name again?’ The third alert that rolled in obnoxiously could not be easily ignored because obviously this unknown number refused to be disregarded so easily. He hoped that by now the intruder would have given up. Kuro apologized apprehensively and while his words seemed sincere in face value, the entire performance was a façade. While the young woman was intriguing, Kuro did not feel like he actually owed her anything. His time was valuable; more valuable than hers.
He read the few pieces of text to himself silently trying to keep his emotions calm and steady regardless of the content of the message, ‘Your assistance in the investigation of a murder is required as it is someone that you may have known.’ He stared intensely at the menacing words deciding how to proceed, ‘Please show up at the Vale’s police station for more information.’ Well, that was inconvenient. How could this possibly involve him? ‘We shall meet there,’ was the final message that he had received. Who was ‘we’ the boy wondered? Kuro growled showing his obvious distaste for the situation he seemed to be forced into with no account for his will, per the usual. There was a distinct part of him that wanted to ignore the message and run off with no regard for the consequences that might follow him. Unfortunately, the feeling of obligation was too much for him to ignore. There were too many people that were counting on him; he could not let the tribe down. The arctic fox Faunus turned around and changed directions toward the predetermined location with a loud, exasperated sigh. He might have been compliant but that did not mean that he would not moan and groan along the way about how inconvenient this all was.
On his way to the Vale police station, Kuro whistled a little tune while leaning on his cane intermittently. His mind kept wandering to who might have requested his presence and who it was that may have passed that he knew. Hopefully it was Mira, she could be dreadfully awful sometimes for someone who looked so pleasant to the eyes. As the site came into view, the police station seemed rather barren; the regular hustle and bustle of worker bees making the rounds not being present. Did this have something to do with the murder? Wait, there was somebody out front that Kuro was able to notice finally. Was this the person who left him that mysterious message? Kuro narrowed an eye at the sole person standing in front of the police station who had the look of someone who was investigating and examining everything surrounding them in a defensive manner. It was a good survival tactic but awfully exhausting given that they were within the walls of Vale. “Why hello there I do not believe we have met before,” Kuro stepped lightly trying not to cause alarm before arranging himself in front of the person in question.

An exhausted sigh was released as she laid in bed, tired from a hard day “a week as passed… barely any clues as to who Killed Nibbie… this is so damn frustrating” she said softly before hearing a doorbell “I’ll be there in a sec!” she yelled as she hopped out of her bed and walked straight into the room “hello? Oh, a package? Must be what Autrox sent right? No? so what is that… oh no matter, thank you so much” Aya would say with a smile as she gave the delivery man his tip and closed the door behind her, looking at the package it was sent to her but also Kuro and Rin? That’s weird, Aya opened the package and almost dropped it from sheer shock. Fox ears?! A tail?! It must be a prank or those fake costume pieces you see around Halloween right? But after a closer look, she could see pieces of skin attached to them, it was for sure real. Shaking herself from disgust Aya would then notice a picture, a picture that made her eyes tear up in both sadness and anger, it was Netami’s body, lying dead without her ears and tail with her throat sliced open, Aya closed the package as fast as possible after taking a picture of what was inside and sent it to Autrox with a text: “more murders have happened, this package was sent to me but it was assigned for Kuro and Rin as well. I have a feeling someone is trying to go into conflict with the Freikkre emits this awful time, I request permission take two students with me to investigate, preferably Kuro and Rin” Aya would then ley in bed with her eyes wide open ‘I need a shower’ she thought before getting up, a good shower may as well help her calm down just a little, at least enough to where she can sleep.
The next morning Aya woke up extremely early after she could barely sleep that night, it felt as if Netami’s fox parts were staring at her all night, even if it sounds extremely ridiculous! She changed into tights and a sports bra to go for a run around the courtyard, it always helped her calm down after stressful times especially when jogging around as the sun rose. Later that day Aya finally got the green lights from Autrox but with a small problem, Rin was already on a mission and not somewhere Aya can just pluck him out of there and take him with her, instead of him she was assigned a student named Azura, a girl she was not very familiar with but heard the name quite often, she knew she was someone Aya could rely on. She then sent Kuro three messages, letting him know of his new mission as she got out early, heading towards the police department of Vale.
Waiting inside for a few Hours Aya grew slightly impatient but mostly bored and tense from sitting around for so long “welp… I should go take a walk outside for now” Aya whispered to herself as she went for the exit, once outside she noticed it, Kuro was Flirting with a girl who had the exact description to what Azura was supposed to look like “seriously… you never change do you?” she asked with a sigh as she was close enough for the two to hear “if you are wondering I was the one who invited you here, originally I was investigating the murder of a student named Nibbie but… unfortunately this got to my room last night” she pulled out her scroll, showing the ears and tail that was cut before sliding to the next photo, where Netami could be seen without her fox parts and a sliced throat “it’s why I specifically called you Kuro, I planned on bringing Rin as well but he is occupied, so we have the help of Azura” she would then turn to Azura and give her a soft smile “it’s a pleasure finally meeting you, let’s get this investigation started shall we?” tabOOC — ❄ the message that was sent to Kuro was mentioned in Kuro’s post tabICY SHIELD — ❄tabtab not activated tabCOOLDOWN — ❄tabtab deactivated tabOUTFIT — ❄tabtabAya’s new FC. After entering a not-so-safe place, she would sit down calmly at the bar and order a cup of coffee, casually taking out a pocket-sized notebook and pen. After a bit of talk though it was made clear, and she'd pay for her information. As he spoke she would write down his replies, sipping her coffee as she did. From the sitar music to the note that the killer might be from Atlas in connection to VLTR. she would want to ask more about the Atlas and VLTR/vengeance angle though, but she could tell this was all they were going to say for now."Thank you for your time,"After slipping the tavern-keep her card with her number on the back, leaving a decent tip, and walked out."More helpful than I thought,"Tsuki concluded before calling Ichi once she was out of tavern...
Having taking the other known murder location, Ichirou had only separated from his sister when she'd spotted some children that seemed to be calling for her attentions of sorts. He would turn his attentions to a couple that owned the Basskin Fishery. It was not unusual to talk to them since he bought his best fish from them. But today was not the day to talk about fish, instead he'd casually but friendly inquire what he needed to. The mention of metal striking stone had him pondering the type of weapon the night attacker might have, if not just the clues from the news. He had a great memory for such things, but still wrote their replies in a small notebook. Robotics, metal against stone, rooftop."Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Basskin. Please stay safe,"the tall tiger said kindly to the older couple."Speak of the devil,"he thought with a smile as he walked away. Picking up his scroll, he'd listen to Tsuki on what she'd found out so far...
The young woman would walk towards the children (twins) with natural grace and poise of a young lady when she was called away. Kneeling down to meet the children's gazes, she would kindly inquire of what they might've heard or seen in the past few eves. The pronoun had caught her attention and she would let them finish before asking how they could tell it was a He and not a that followed the cape. She would ask only a couple more questions before handing them her card."You were very helpful, thank you; now be safe,"Haruko said with a soft smile. She would then slowly stand and walk back to Ichirou as their sister would be on the phone."Well, that was fruitful,"the tigress thought. With Ichi sending Tsuki where to go, Haruko would casually go into the shop whose roof they had to be on in order to converse...
Miya sighed as she would have to travel along the rooftops towards the one just a few blocks away from the parking lot. The roofs were her playground since she was little, so traveling them would not take long. And what she'd found would not be a waste of time."Oooh boy..."She said aloud. What laid before her was evidence of a fight. Or at least what she'd presumed was one. Walking around carefully on this rooftop, stopping short of the scene before her, she'd wait for her brother."What the hell..."Tsuki thought in horror and anger. But, she would follow her brother's lead and wait after he called the police.
Ichi would not take long in meeting up with his youngest sister on the rooftops (as one that's lived here most of all his life, and others, traveling the roofs as a "shop kid" this was nothing new). Though, he did take a little longer since he's bigger than his sister. Once there though, he'd notice her walking around...Though he would almost puke at the sight of a few portions of skin, rather than the robotic scraps with the name Harjas on it. What intrigued him though was what appeared to be glowing granite stone."This is...unsettling to say the least,"He said after a bit, as he'd open his scroll."Even as a hunter, there's rules,"he thought, a bit annoyed as he dialed to inform the police of what's been found on the rooftop. If asked, they'd wait...They were working with the police, not against them after all.
Haruko would find her scroll buzzing and politely excused herself. Having only gotten to ask about the type of security system the owner Ms. Lemone had before anything else."Alright, lets meet back up at Page Turner after,"Haruko said as she would be the first to head back to the bookshop, so long as she is not interrupted along the way...

-Idle chatter goes through the bar as Tsuki discussed things with the Bartender, paying him for info with a decent-sized tip. No one really noticed the topic at hand but the conversation led way to more questions as she left for the evening. The Bartender wished her well and for more visits next time.
-Ichirou's interactions with the Basskin Fishery's owners were as one would expect, with more worries than true answers save for some. Sounds were spoken about during the day as people came by, leaving the wife to talk to Ichi alone before the parents switched to deal with customers. It was a hectic time but Ichi had good standings with them. Thanks and well-wishes were given between the two as they bid each other Farewell.
-Haruko had to deal with some children that were having fun at the playground when she approached. The twins, one Faunus and one Human spoke to the lady and answered her questions but they gave such interesting responses that Haruko, unfortunately, couldn't get an answer to when their parents had called for them. They politely bowed as they took her card, leaving as they were giggling about meeting a lovely lady to their mother. At the end of their day with the full family group meeting at the rooftops, a grisly scene of oil, metal, and parts of flesh and skin. Yet the one thing that stood out the most was a Glowing piece of Granite that they were quick to report to the police before making their way back. [Clue Obtained: Glowing Granite]
Aya, Azura, Kuro:
After being escorted into the police station, they were immediately brought to the debriefing room where there, Director Fordin began to fill them in about the murders that had been going on. They were in the know now of how the bodies had been vanishing after being taken to Becky's Funeral home and now that they've kicked him out, two more murders had been recently reported. Officers were sent out to go and investigate them after an anonymous tip about where to go. The trio was informed about the subjects who have gone missing: Tostadas[The First Victim], who was found in a state of Joy with several cuts and bruises upon his body. The second and Third Victims were Kati Katswell and her lover Jeral Casten, with Kati's head pinned down with a short sword. She too was in a state of joy while her lover was found completely bisected with the torso on her body. The most known victim before the day's murders was a young lad who attended Beacon named Fenrir Siegfried Red-Claw. Each photo they had shown was of course in full detail with flashes highlighting parts of the body where the critical wound was. The director looked them in the eyes as he spoke. "Whoever is doing this seems to have something to do with this VLTR that we keep finding written everywhere. But this much death in this week alone is too much to be just a coincidence. If you have any questions speak now before we go to the evidence room." He told them as each of the students began to ask about the questions, at the time a couple of faunus officers came in to help.
Aya asked simple questions, ones the Fauni could answer for the director as a Blood Hound Faunus stepped forward. "When it was Tostada's body, it smelled of Fragrant Meadows strangely enough, as if he went out into the forest. For Kati, she smelled heavily of that Land of the Meadows perfume, which really hurt the nose but her boyfriend smelled of dirt for some reason. Fenrir's body was in such a sad state, all I smelled was his blood, dirt, and what I can assume to be Rotten Flesh." He said his piece before the Director answered her next one. "Tostada was found in the Alleyway beside Emperor's Steakhouse, a competitive eatery to be sure, but unlikely they hired a hitman to take out a prominent chef of the Faunus community. Kati and Jeral were found inside of their car after it had crashed near the same Steakhouse, but the time of their deaths was before the crash as the autopsy report confirmed. Fenrir was found inside the Amphitheater near the center of town." He told Aya calmly as the others spoke next.
Azura asked the Director her worrying concerns next as the Director got up and pulled out a file as he moved towards her. "Only the aftermath of Sir Red-Claw unfortunately." He told her as he placed it on the table before her. He opened it up to show her the footage of the aftermath, he looked at her as he spoke. "We also have records of the Theatre's security being tampered with so no one was able to be notified." He told her calmly while she then asked about the corpses leaving behind blood. "There haven't been any witness statements that really helped fill in the gaps other than stating what they heard at night or the aftermath." He told her as he shook his head before he looked to Kuro as he spoke next.
As soon as she asked, the debriefing room door had opened to let the sergeant in as he was in the process of picking out nose hairs from his bulbous nose. The Director glared at him as he entered before he spoke. "Nice of you to join us so late..." He started as the man chuckled. "I was out getting information boss. Since you need all the help you can get. To answer your question little boy, the only one we know of is what they apparently call themselves: VLTR. Not sure if it's supposed to be important but it seems some of the refugees know about it." He told him as he yanked out a few hairs, blowing them off to the air before he placed his hands on his hips. "As for the attacks, they appear to be random... don't know how the hell they're working but it seemed to me they left something behind from the previous attack." He told the trio as he grinned and produced a rusty butcher's knife. "This was found in a hidden panel of the Amphitheatre's back wall. Still has traces of blood left on it. With how hastily it seemed to be discarded, chances are we found one of the murder weapons." He told them all as the Director, in all of his disgust, sighed before he nodded his head. "Any lead at this point is better than none. We'll get to work on trying to determine if this is related to the case or not. You three be safe out there though. Whatever is going on, it must be better to travel as a group at night. If you find a hostile, do not engage." Director Fordin told them as he dismissed them.
The discussions for both parties had gone well into the night, a time for them to return back home or to their base safely yet as Azura, Aya, and Kuro were leaving the department, Azura and Aya both received a call from Cecil. "Hey you two, I've been doing my best researching on what I can find out with both incidents of what happened within the week. While I'm nowhere near close to finding out who did Nebbie in, I've been looking more into the deaths of the people involved with your current assigned case." Cecil told them as sounds of paper could be heard. "It seems both Tostadas and Kati hail from Atlas, specifically from Mantle. Reading some of the reports and papers back then, they were both heavily involved in some gang violence back there. The reports are from about 10 years ago, so whatever they did, their past must've followed suit. I've also taken the time to look into VLTR as much as I could with the database here. Thankfully his computer does have details on an Atlas Huntsman team named as such. They consisted of Victor Breakheart, Elliot Payne, Beatrice Miona, and some dude named Traicurt. Says here all team members of them are considered Dead though so maybe whoever this is must be a copycat killer or something." Cecil warned them ahead of time before he closed the file. "It's getting late, you three get some rest and I'll keep in touch." With that, he ended the call. [Clues Obtained: Plausible Murder Weapon, VLTR Identities] ~---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------~ The night continues as everyone heads home for the evening, the night pleasant in its silent screams as one of the students seemed to have not gotten the warning to stay inside. Xandria was out and about, trying to find a missing child who had left a family's care in the midst of the day. She had gotten the details from an internet post, thank you scrolls! As she ran about, it wasn't long before she runs into a tall bulky man, stumbling back and looking at them. She was quick to apologize to the strangely unclothed man and moves around aside from him as she noticed two other figures. One of a female of rather short and lanky build standing before a child, a guitar in her hand. A quick pop of her neck before she spoke. "Better get out of here quickly otherwise I'll beat you senseless." She told the man as now that Xandria got a better look of the man's face, her own filled with horror, her hairs standing at the end before she reached to grab ahold of the female known as Scylla Tempest's arm. "We need to go!" She addressed the person who shook her arm off. "Don't worry, I can handle him." She told Xandria as the man seemed to tilt his head, soon pulling a pipe out of nowhere before she brandished her guitar. Just then, all three of the girls began to hear a strange melody. The sound of a Long Zither began to play and slowly drown the silence out. The mood was quick to change as the music played, this time people in buildings were secretly looking out, listening to the music and seeing the people in the streets.
The man known as Tostada charged in first, swinging the lead pipe with an overhead strike as Scylla charged in, blocking the pipe with ease using her aura covered guitar. They met in a clash as the pipe seemed to slightly bend but as Scylla seemed confident, Tostada was quick to swing his left leg up to kick her left leg out as it knocked her balance off. With her down to a knee, Tostada threw an elbow that her right elbow easily caught to defend. Xandria couldn't leave her to deal with the man, but a child was scared stiff so Xandria moved to grab her hand and started to run, making a hard choice quickly. As she moved, she ran past and could see someone else playing the Long Zither, her eyes focused and if she couldn't assist Scylla with the man, she could take out the music to try and alert the police already. She pulled out her rifle and took quick aim, firing at the Musician who was playing his music, she too also recognized him through the Scope but as she fired, her attack hit the man. His head tilted back from the hit, but there was no damage. She was now more scared than anything as she took the girl's hand and resumed running while Scylla and Tostada fought, but now that Scylla was alone, she was too focused on one brute to not notice a white-haired man dashing out of the darkness. With fists of red, he strikes her side as she grunts, being pushed back a bit before she brought her weapon close and struck a chord! The blast from her guitar was definitely louder than the Zither player but as a wave came from her, both the bodies were hit and pushed back, yet they came in close again.
4ft was definitely not enough even if she kept playing while the White-haired man threw another two punches, each one hitting her more directly and each hit seemed to hurt more than the last as she cries out. Even with her aura absorbing the hits, the man seemed to be hitting above her nullifying limit as Tostada came in with a sideways swing that she desperately blocked. She was trying her best at this point while Xandria continued to run, only to now get stopped by a strange being. It was a female with arctic white hair that was covered in dried blood, her right hand seemed different as she slowly lifted it up. Xandria didn't trust her and was quick to use her semblance, but just as she did, the right hand of the female clicked with metal and her hand shot out, a chain added on as it managed to slip through the barrier that was forming to grab Xandria by the neck. She was pulled towards the girl who stared at her with soulless eyes. "...Form....a...tion..." A word slipped from both of their lips as the hand glowed and inside the barrier, it detonated a point blank explosion worth 5 hand grenades. The barrier easily shattered but what was left behind were a pair of legs, the gore and viscera that would've come from the explosion now just charred lumps of meat as the girl lowered her now missing right hand. She looked to the child who stared back in fear. Slowly, they began to approach as the child backed away but she was backing away to be in front of an alleyway once more that three hands reached out to grab her. She screamed bloody murder as she was pulled into the alleyway... a sickening sound would've been heard but drowned out by the sound of the Zither.
Scylla was trying her damnedest, blasting them back by continually playing her music but it was no use, the two bodies against her were making their way to the girl as she seemed backed into a wall now. The white-haired man slipped in and started to strike once more, with her now using her guitar as a shield, her aura flashing with each strike as on the 6th hit... 6 tons worth of force in the one strike, her guitar shattered, her aura gone, and the force of the hit ran through her arms, tearing the muscles inside as she clenched her teeth. But she tried to slip away once again, this time only to get a pipe broken against her back as it launched her down to the ground. The people who watched could only see in horror as the larger figure moved closer, a lead pipe in hand before he stabbed it through the back of her head, missing her spine entirely but the exit wound was the aimed for jaw, obliterating it as he saw fit to leave the pipe embedded in her jaw and her neck. Tostada and the White haired man both began to pick up the body, and leave with it, leaving another two students dead in the streets once more.
Morning came, reports were ordered, police dispatched, and people saw a new message near the charred remains of Xandria. 'VLTR reaps their rewards justly!' The Outcry of the public had pushed the Police force to take action, and what the consequences would be are uncertain. They needed to pin the blame on someone, they needed an arrest and soon enough... that is what happens. Three people were assaulted by the police, detained and pulled to be held for questioning. Of the three were: -Iliaster Conteda[Proprietor of the Emperor's Steakhouse] -Akuryo Beckwood[Ex-Proprietor of Becky's Funeral Home] -Jarlen Estudian IV[Homeless Atlesian Refugee] A message was sent to those who helped in the investigations about criminals being held for questioning for possible leads. Will they answer and take them up on the offer? Or will they proceed to investigate elsewhere and leave the police to do their job?

Kuro was somewhat surprised to be addressed so casually, ‘you never change, do you?’ He looked up curiously in the direction of Aya not recognizing her immediately as she had changed dramatically since the last time that they had seen each other. “Do I know you,” he said questioningly not being able to shake the feeling that there was something that seemed quite familiar about the person. Was it the sound of her voice? He squinted his eyes studying their features closely as she approached and then suddenly, it hit him like a sack filled with heavy masonry bricks. “Is that you,” he spoke the words but was already almost certain of the answer. “You are okay? What happened to you,” he continued on with so many questions that all felt more important and relevant than whatever mundane reason that he had been summoned here. Their reunion would have to wait given that Aya was all business at the moment pulling out her scroll for Kuro to see. The mere mention of Rin’s name was slightly off-putting; however, he would find his mind immediately distracted by the gruesome, horrifying images in front of him. He studied the scroll with visible disgust… Netami? What? Why? Could she have been on a job? Kuro’s mind jumped to thinking about their questionable obligations to certain criminal organizations wondering whether that could have been the link to this disturbing crime. There was also the picture which merely contained Netami’s ears and tail, which could indicate that this was an attack against the arctic fox tribe specifically. He found himself thinking about his duties and obligations to his family and people. Could the rest of them be in danger? What about Aya and himself? Faunus hate crime? Faunus prize hunting? The were far too many possibilities, and Kuro was beginning to feel somewhat overwhelmed. Aya remained professional pressing forward with their introductions and attempting to jump right into the case. She introduced the beautiful young woman with who he had approached and normally, Kuro would have been happy for the opportunity; at the moment, he was finding himself unable to concentrate. Was he experiencing anxiety or maybe, a panic attack? The two of them had just be reunited and under such horrible circumstances, he had honestly thought that she was dead for a while and went through a rather dark time that was better left kept to himself.
Afterwards, the trio would be escorted into the police station to partake in an exchange of information. Kuro had his eyes and ears open paying close attention to every detail, much less disturbed by the murders of other random citizens than his own companions and friend. “VLTR,” Kuro mumbled to himself with no inkling of understanding what that particular term could have meant or WHO it could have meant more particularly. There were a few things that each of the murders seemed to have in common, but there was just as much which did not seem to be connected in anyway. The smell of floral meadows and whatever the connection with this steakhouse was, for example. Two deaths in such close proximity were something of interest, even if it was staged - it was something that would be kept in the back of his mind. Kuro was somewhat surprised to learn that whoever had committed these crimes had somehow tampered with security. That would have to be someone skilled and also, it would indicate that they were prepared, whoever they were. With the entrance of an unknown employee, Kuro would finally have his turn to gather some answers. There it was again… That term, VLTR. While he might not have known what it meant, they seemed to be aware of the term in the refugee community. Kuro could not help but make a show of audible disgust with some unintentional shivering. “Gross,” he murmured to himself thinking about their unkempt, dirty refugee bodies sleeping in the open air with wild animals and insects. Despite this, it was a lead worth pursuing. He needed answers for the sake of the tribe and his people. Then, the officer said something which bothered Kuro implying that the attacks appeared to be random. The arctic fox boy had his doubts about this statement. The pictures highlighting her arctic heritage and being sent specifically to Aya in a show of power… The extraordinary amount of effort went into killing their subjects and covering their asses, as well as possible staging of bodies? There was too much intentional efforts being put into what they assumed were random, run-of-the-mill murders. They did get to peak at a possible murder weapon, however. If it was a weapon of convenience, that could give them some leads. Did it have a brand of handiwork on the handle or blade that he could notice? He peered closely but nothing obvious seemed to stick out. That being said – Butcher knives weren’t something heavily used in the homes of ordinary civilians, so that could narrow down leads on finding where the weapon had originated from.
Finally, they exited the building on their way home. Kuro was mentally exhausted from having to endure today, and there was still quite a bit left to do in the immediate future. For now, the best thing that they could all do was get some rest, so they could go into the next day with clear heads and a sound mind for problem solving. His ears perked with the sound of Aya’s scroll ringing. When she answered it, he could hear the conversation clearly but did not recognize the voice from anyone whom he had met within the academy thus far. There were implications of gang violence, but the term VLTR had a database hit?! They were presumed dead… but it wasn’t about what you knew – it’s about what you could prove. With so many victims and the complexity of the kills, it would make more sense having a coordinated team… particularly a team who had trained together under intense and dangerous situations. Assuming they had all managed to survive and keep it under the radar, what was their motivation? What was their drive and more importantly, what were the chances of having a coordinated team of four individual people with individual belief systems, perceptions and ideals who all just enjoyed the hunt? Curious.
Waking up the next day was more eventful than Kuro was hoping, it seemed that this VLTR were picking up pace on their murders. The police officers had scooped a few suspects in the meantime for questioning and offered their team a chance to interrogate them as well. Meat for the grinder – personally, Kuro did not have any interest in two of the three suspects. Of course, the picks were logical. Quite a few of the deaths were near or staged near the steakhouse. Removing the bodies from a funeral home unnoticed would take a particular amount of inside information about the funeral home or quite a bit of skill, skills that a team of hunters and huntresses would have. The final suspect being an Atlesian refugee? That one made a little less sense from a public standpoint, but Kuro saw it as a golden opportunity. The Atlesian refugee was the only suspect of interest to him actually. The police had mentioned that the refugees seemed to know more about the VLTR than anyone else around had. The others might have called him crazy but when all of the information presented was linked up, it made more sense than it should have. He was anticipating being able to interrogate the suspect; however, he wouldn’t press if the other members of his team were more interested in looking at the crime scenes. When Kuro was properly dressed and prepared for whatever the day would bring, he would send a message via scroll to let Aya know his preferences and where he would be waiting to meet with her, as well as the other girl whose name he couldn’t quite remember given the overwhelming amount of stress they’d had to endure the day prior.

Ocho had long since flopped upon his bed, staring up at the ceiling with quite the blank expression for the better part of forever. Since the debacle what was Survival Class, he'd been feeling like a failure. Unable to keep his team in line when it mattered. Unable to act accordingly when it mattered. Unable to really do anything when it mattered. Hell, he even showed up to the aforementioned class without his weapon in the first place!
The combination of a “buzz” and “bing” grabbed his attention, however, as he lazily reached for his Scroll with one of his arms upon receiving a message and brought it closer to read.
