Bacchus chuckled as the others finished the repairs, glad that no one thought to ask for his input. Even the technology on his own world was foreign to him by the time he left. Whatever was going on here was well beyond what he could manage. At least in the moment.
He should probably go to the door. That’s what those sounds meant. Better that he get a good look at any constructs that might be waiting to pounce (or whatever you call what they did) on the other side before they had a chance to get all of these people. Right?
The room wasn’t exactly dark, he could see around pretty decently, even if the floating lamps were a bit distracting. When the big…thing…started moving it took him a few seconds to register what exactly was happening. Ah, s**t. OK they were going to have to fight here too. Looked like Tempesti was getting that weird flying b*****d bug, better go for the other one.
Charging forward toward the unoccupied construct (TC1), Bacchus took a swing at it.
Niflhel watched as the doors opened after the puzzles were solved. This was fairly complex and impressive. Niflhel hadn't really expected anything this elaborate would've been still functioning but in a way he was glad it was still functioning.
It almost reminded him of watching Snowball play the Legend of Zelda game -- breath of the wild was it? Where the robot things tried to kill you.
Yeah that was probably a pretty good comparison but the robots in that weren't nearly as pretty and sparkly as this. He made his way towards the construct on the far side following after a fellow's who's skin was perhaps paler than he was.
Niflhel aimed his meteor hammer at the construct being mindful of the one who'd charged ahead of him. If the Knight could get the construction at least where it was controlled slightly it might make the fight a bit faster and easier on all of them. "Watch out." He warned as he let his Meteor hammer fly.
The puzzles were quite interesting and when they had been solved Cardinal stood there in awe watching as the door opened to the next room. It was very pretty, the difference between her homeworld and Tempesti's was very interesting.
The senshi watched closely as new constructs appeared and started wreaking havoc again, of course they did. They were interesting and she actually liked the look of these if only they weren't trying to possibly kill intruders.
The senshi took off after Tempesti when she headed for the closest one, there was a nod when Tempesti said that the constructs shoot dart things. Of course there wasn't anything easy about this.
She decided that it worked on the last crew, maybe she could use her magic on these too??
"Uktena's shine!" She called hoping that it would help slow down her target.
Uktena's Shine - 1/3
When Cardinal calls this attack an illusion of the Uktena appears behind where Cardinal is standing. The gem on her tiara then gives off a dazzling light that temporarily leaves her opponents seeing spots if they look directly at her.
This attack lasts for 30 seconds and can be used 3 times. This attack effects those opponents that are 10 foot (cone radius) in front of Cardinal. Usually, the spots seen from the light after the attacks ends are also gone, but could last longer and be distracting if a player so wishes.
Character:Cynthus, Squire of the Moon Location: I9 HP: 75 Target: Teruda Construct in I9 Action: Striking a butterfly construct with her crook. Damage/Healing/Buff/Debuff Done: 8 Enemy HP: 26
Solving the puzzles brought them into a different room.
Cynthus wasn’t totally sure she understood the significance of this place, but she also didn’t think she had to. A job needed doing. Tempesti needed their help to do it. The Whats, Hows, and Whys didn’t really matter at the moment. Not to Cynthus, who already knew space was important. If she ever needed help with her Wonder, she wanted to know she could rely on people. She had to prove she could be relied on, too.
(Even if maybe sometimes she wasn’t all that good at things.)
“Stay close,” she told Poe and Paradise. “But if I tell you to fall back, fall back.”
She had more experience than they did, after all. That thing up ahead was huge. Huge things usually meant trouble.
First things first! Cynthus darted toward the nearest butterfly construct to whack at it with her crook, letting out a very brave but very dramatic battle cry as she did so.
Character:Chibi Super Sailor Oort Location: E11 HP: 75/75 Target: Teruda Construct 1 Action: Trying to look for a weak spot on the construct Damage/Healing/Buff/Debuff Done: N/A Enemy HP: 48
"Figures it was too good to last," Oort muttered half under his breath and half in Oberon's direction as he trailed behind the others through the newly opened bronze door.
The chamber beyond was enormous and filled with stained glass-like lanterns that hung suspended in the air.
Reddish eyes also took in what appeared to be some sort of shrine in the centre of the chamber.
The lanterns were something that he would have liked to examine more closely, and probably would have drifted closer towards some of the closer ones if not for the butterfly-like constructs flitting ominously through the space towards them, whilst a larger one floated behind them as electricity crackled with increasing intensity along its whirling metallic bands.
Tempesti's warning - that the butterfly-like things also fired dart-like projectiles - felt less like a heads-up and more like the decorative flourish on a very unfortunate dessert that had been baked entirely out of trouble.
Unlike some of the others that had entered ahead of him Oort didn't make any immediate move to attack, fully conscious of the fact that his magic wasn't particularly of the offensive sort anyway–
Instead, his gaze shifted leftwards, locking onto the butterfly-like construct approaching from that direction (Teruda Construct 1), as reddish eyes searched for anything that might look like a weak spot.

Character:Eternal Sailor Athene Location: H10 HP: 100/100 Target: Teruda Construct 2 Action: Using his basic-level magic on Teruda Construct 2 to mitigate incoming damage Damage/Healing/Buff/Debuff Done: N/A Enemy HP: N/A
The newly revealed room appeared to be a shrine of some sort - at least going by the ring of standing stones, and huge crystalline many pointed star, atop a pedestal of polished stone that somehow managed to stand balanced on a single point–
Although it was hard to take in more than that given the multiple stained glass-like constructs heading in their direction.
Two were butterfly-like and Athene gave (Tempesti) a grateful nod at her warning, although it was hard to tell if she had seen it or not given that she had been in the process of engaging with the right-most butterfly-like construct at the time.
Trailing behind them was the largest construct Athene had seen so far, looming ominously as it bore down on the group with deliberate intent.
The Saturn knight engaging the leftmost butterfly-like construct was familiar, even though it was years since Niflhel and his paths had last had last intertwined.
Athene was pretty sure that Niflhel had had a different weapon, couldn't remember it being a meteor hammer, although now was hardly the time to ask.
Athene was fairly certain Niflhel had once wielded a different weapon, the meteor hammer not matching his memory - although now was hardly the moment to question it.
Instead for his part Athene pivoted to bring himself closer to the right-most construct (Teruda Construct 2), figuring that he could at least try to trap one of the butterfly-like things in place.
"Blue Beads of Nazar!"
Quote:
For ORP purposes this magic acts like a shield.
Blue Beads of Nazar:
Drawing on some of his energy, Athene’s magic takes the form of a glowing ball of ethereal, intangible-looking evil eye protector beads that Athene can then direct towards a target within reasonable throwing distance in his line of sight.
If the magic connects and the target has malevolent intentions towards Athene, then the ball will separate into several spiritual evil eye protector beads that surround the target, trapping them within a barrier of beads that has a 1 metre radius.
A trapped target is not actually immobilised - they can still jump, block, or strike with their weapon - but they cannot leave the ring of beads while the magic is active unless they are a corrupted being with the ability to teleport. The beads can also be smashed from the outside and smashing half the beads (about 12 to 15 beads) will break the barrier.
After 25 seconds the beads will glow brighter momentarily and then fade out.
Character:Eternal Sailor Oberon of Adventure Location: E11 HP: 93 Target: Construct 1 Action: Staying near Oort. Buff to Niflhel. Damage/Healing/Buff/Debuff Done: Buff 2d6 Enemy HP: 38
Oberon had barely been able to get a chance to look around before the chamber came alive again. Lanterns and white stone were almost enough to catch his breath. The shrine, the crystal, the sound of metal--
And figures…
Oort’s dry remark drew the faintest huff of agreement from him, but his focus had already shifted to the constructs swooping in at them, taking note of Tempesti’s warning.
“Stay behind me,” Oberon muttered to Oort without looking away from the nearest construct. His ribs ached when he straightened, but the pain grounded him more than it slowed him down. They’d come too far to be stopped by some machines.
He caught sight of Niflhel as he moved in to attack, and held up his hand to cast his magic. He might not have any physical attacks, but he could help boost the attack of someone else.
Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Adventure Beckons Sailor Oberon calls out his magic and his target gets a large morale boost and soothes minor physical pain, although Oberon is sure it’s just the adrenaline kicking in. As well as becoming more adventurous, his magic may also influence his target to be more careless or rash, especially now that they are not as hindered by some of their physical pain. Lasts about thirty seconds and can use it three times.
Poe straightened as the last tile clicked in, brushing the dust off his hands. He felt the hum deepen in his chest like the weight of a vault door shifting, and then the bronze sun blazed to life.
He opened his mouth to say something (probably a bad joke) only for Tempesti to thank them. The quiet sincerity in her voice almost caught him off guard. He wasn’t used to anyone thanking him for pushing numbers around, let alone pushing ancient puzzles into place.
Before he could answer, though, the door opened and his stomach sank. Lanterns, crystal, and domes were fine. The shrine in the center was fine. But the sound of metal grinding to life… too borg-ish for him to be comfortable about it.
“Yeah, see,” he grumbled, already shifting his weight protectively toward Paradise and Cynthus. “Knew the math was too easy. Always a catch.”
And then, of course Cynthus charged. His heart jumped straight into his throat.
“Cynthus--!” he gasped and nearly lunged after her before catching himself, his jaw tight. She wasn’t a kid anymore, especially not here. She could fight. She had more experience than he did with this magical stuff. Didn’t mean he had to like it. He braced himself instead, ready to move if she so much as stumbled.
“Guess falling back’s not on the table yet,” he muttered dryly, eyes locking onto the construct she was swinging at. He couldn’t do much, but when it swopped low, he threw his fist out to try and knock a hole right through a wing.
Paradise had smiled warmly at Tempesti’s words, her heart tugging with sympathy for the girl who had carried so much to bring them there. She wanted to tell her that she hadn’t failed, that trying wasn’t weakness… but then the doors opened, and the Wellspring was ahead of them. Offering gratitude would have to wait.
The sight of the shrine might have stolen her breath if the clatter of hostile machinery hadn’t pulled her focus first. Constructs, of course. It was never going to be easy.
She drew closer to Poe instinctively, her hand brushing against his arm before she turned to watch Cynthus.
“Stay behind--” The words didn’t even make it out before her niece bolted forward with a war cry and crook swinging. Paradise’s pulse spiked, but her lips pressed into a steady smile at how brave Cynthus was.
“Alright, we can hold the line,” she said to Poe, her voice calm as she shifted and readied her own crook-like staff, ready for the constructs to close in. After Poe’s punch, she swung her own weapon at it. “She asked us to fall back if needed. Until then… we’ll trust her.”

Character:Ephesus, Knight of the Moon Location: I9 HP: 100 Target: Construct 2 in I9 Action: Attack Damage/Healing/Buff/Debuff Done: 10 + 1d10 Enemy HP: 24 - 12 = 12
Ephesus’s breath caught when the chamber shifted, puzzle solved and danger waiting. He barely had time to react before Cynthus charged ahead with all the bravery she could muster.
His fingers tightened on Amarynthos’s hand one last time before he let go, stepping forward just enough to raise his scepter. A golden warmth spilled from the ornate honey dipper as he channeled his magic, the air sweetening instantly with the taste of honey as orbs of the sticky gold were lobbed at the construct Cynthus had attacked.
“Stay close,” he echoed softly in agreement to Mary, though his eyes never left the strange winged construct. “If it comes too close, I’ll keep it back.”
He wasn’t about to let it take another swing at anyone. Not while Mary was still smiling through pain. Mary said he was okay… Ephesus wanted to believe him. He did! As long as the adrenaline was still running through him. As long as he was standing close, even if it meant having to jog in place and eat some more of the energy bar.
Quote:
Forgotten Spell - Orbs of honey are launched at an opponent, creating a sticky, sweet smelling mess that will last until whoever is covered in the mess powers down. It will wash away with water if it lands on anything non-magic. Three uses and the opponent must be within twenty feet of Ephesus.
The puzzle dissolved into something worse, just like he’d feared. Panels gone, constructs waiting.
Reims’s jaw tightened, his grip shifting on his sword as he instinctively stepped in front of Dering and Lisse. His eyes flicked once to Halle, already aware that the other Knight had a shield at his disposal, giving him a quick nod. There were no words exchanged, no confirmation of a plan, but he expected it would be enough. Especially for the smart twin. I’ll push forward. You hold them off. Dering and Lisse, watch our backs.
It felt strange, trusting people he barely knew, but right now he didn’t have the luxury of hesitation.
He didn’t miss the odd, heavy silence hanging around Lisse, or the way he hovered close to Dering. It prickled at the back of his mind, but he shoved it down. Whatever was going on between the brothers, that wasn’t his problem. Protecting his friend was.
He let out a slow exhale, the release steadying his shoulders, and then he darted forward with a low sweep of his blade aimed at the nearest butterfly construct, like he was swinging for the fences.
Quote:
Knight magic: When Reims channels his magic, the lust for battle courses through him and his strength is increased, allowing him to hit twice as hard as he normally would. Every time his weapon makes contact, there is an extravagant burst of colorful light from his weapon, as if catching and shattering light even without a light source. The colorful light manifests into glass shards, always directed at his target. There are never more than three at a time, and no larger than his palm, that causes the sensation of moderate to severe lacerations. Players can choose to take lasting damage. His magic pool lasts for 45 seconds.
The chamber shifted, puzzle giving away to danger. Constructs burst into motion, but Sessrumnir only shifted his stance, his weight steady and shoulders set.
Alastor’s elbow still lingered against his own, a grounding point settling him as his eyes swept the new battlefield. Amarynthos was upright. Ephesus was close. Neither looked panicked. His mother seemed energetic. Relief swirled momentarily in his chest, although the heaviness hadn’t yet faded.
His hand wrapped around the stormglass chain, the familiar weight comforting between his fingers.
“Might shut everything down,” Sessrumnir shrugged at the wire Alastor pointed out. It didn’t look like it was exposed, so the risk of electrocution was, well… never off the table but probably low. At this point in time, he wouldn’t have stopped Alastor from trying to break things from the mechanical inside-out.
With so many already attacking, he stayed back. The constructs looked like they were already weakening. A few more good hits and they would be finished.
Character:Lucien - Human Form Location: H8 HP: 75 Target: N/A Action: Observing Damage/Healing/Buff/Debuff Done: N/A Enemy HP: N/A
The sound of the mechanism collapsing pulled Lucien’s ears flat. Figures. The numbers had been nothing but teeth waiting to snap shut.
His tail lashed once, then twice, as his sharp gaze moved from one Senshi and Knight to the next. He saw Ephesus use his magic, Cynthus strike with a cry far braver than her size suggested. Sessrumnir and Alastor were close.
He drew back towards Alastor’s side, posture stiff but watchful.
“This seems too easy,” he murmured, voice low as he observed the fighting. His claws flexed, then stilled, but not before his shoulders betrayed a slight sag. The exhaustion was there in the way he held himself, in the deliberate stillness. It was masked well enough for strangers, but anyone watching would see the restraint… and how much effort it took not to leap forward anyway.
The utter relief that filled Lisse when things looked like they were once again going to be a fight made him feel rather giddy. He wasn't a violent person, not by any means but...this was something he could do, and do well. And not choke on the action. He couldn't mess this up.
As Reims went for the attack, Lisse squeezed Dering's shoulder and smiled. "We got this. I won't let anyone hurt us. Or at least I'll do my best to make sure they don't. And I appreciate the offer to talk...it goes both ways, you know. Always." The only downside was if he was once again 'doing wrong' by attacking...but...they were being attacked first. This was...why he was here...and he wasn't going to hold back, not when someone he cared about could suffer for it.
"Halle. I know you have something that can do some damage. The best defense is a good offense, can you finish this thing?" His brother had gone full gym bro, after all. He had to have something up his sleeves. Besides. His brother was more than just a useful shield. Dering was too, but...he hadn't fought with Dering enough to really know all of his skills...and really? That was his own fault.

Character:Halle Knight of Lysithea Location: C8 Target: Reims Action: Guarding Reims from all damage
Nodding back as Reims took point, Halle turned to assess Dering and Lisse's positions before following after. Neither needed to get up close and personal, which was usually good, but did he just hear Tempesti warn them that the butterflies shot projectiles? Ah well, Dering did a good job earlier, Halle could feel a measure of confidence leaving his brother's safety in his friend's hands. Or strings, as it were
Keeping his magic at the ready, he tossed a knowing grin back at his brother with a cheerful, "Not a chance!" Before returning his gaze to the fight, scanning for signs of flipping projectiles. He'd likely have to cast really, really fast to block them, which was bad, but also a little exciting.
"Let's still be careful where we can be! I'll summon Tulip if it looks like I need to add some DPS."

Character Name:Eternal Sailor Alastor, Senshi of Despair Location: H8 HP: 100 Target:Construct 2 in I9 Action: Using emotionally/physically draining magic to attack Construct 2 Damage Done: 10 + 1 = 11 Enemy HP: 1
Alastor tilted his head when Sessrumnir refrained from attacking and, of course, he understood what must be going through the Knight’s mind. Don’t crowd the area, save your energy. Wait to make sure there’s not something else lurking.
Something dangerous hummed in the air, and Alastor wasn’t sure if it was a sixth sense or just the anticipation of things going wrong.
Lucien’s assumption that this was too easy echoed in his mind.
It made sense not to spread themselves too thin right now.
…But it felt like there were bugs crawling over his skin. He stood still. Shifted his weight from one foot to the other. Chewed on the inside of his cheek.
His hands were still planted on his hips, and even digging his fingers into himself didn’t help.
Finally, with a short exhale, he offered Sessrumnir an apologetic smile that didn’t really look apologetic at all.
He still had plenty of energy to spare.
Quote:
Alastor speaks the name of his attack and every enemy nearby will feel a sudden loss of hope, replaced instead with a strong sensation of despair. The area feels thick with gloom and misery and targets may feel as if there is suddenly an unbeatable obstacle they have no chance to overcome. Targets may feel absolute hopelessness and they may become acutely aware of the hardships and loss in their life. The magic does not cause physical damage but can be disorienting and emotionally draining. The magic lasts for thirty seconds and has three uses. It affects all enemies within a ten foot radius of Alastor and the magic will follow him if he moves, but the effects end if the character moves out of radius.
