"I'm sure you already knew it was going to happen, huh?" Molly Hobbes saddened voice rang into the through the small studio apartment. She shifted, leaving the picture that projected upon the small laptop screen freeze in place before it situated itself as she did. It was night where she was [though, not as late as it was for her brother], a few glowing bulbs of color behind her and the sound of crickets in the evening. Brazil, was where she claimed to be.
"Well, yeah. I read them a few years back." Sheldon replied in a lull. Well, read as in had the audio books play in the background as he sat around. Audio books were meant for people who desired to have the pleasure of books but needed to have their energy elsewhere and multitask. Not usually for the lazy who had no desire to read the printed word themselves and just laze around while high. Well, maybe it was for both, but for intentional purposes...
"You have warned me, I was so sad. Why can't Sean Bean ever play characters who live?" Molly sighed, resting her chin on the palm of her hand.
"He hasn't died in every role ..."
"Well, most I've seen. Though, I think the only few I've seen are his fantasy roles like Lord of the Rings ... which he died in."
One could account for his role in Troy but Sheldon knew not to bring that one up, given how irate it made his sister. Historical and story inaccuracies were always things that ticked her off. So, the green haired boy kept his mouth shut. "I told you to read them." He offered.
"I barely have time to read all my paper work."
"Audio books?" He grinned.
"Oh, haha." Molly's lips pulled into a thin line. "Well, maybe." She sighed again, "do you still have yours? Maybe I'll borrow them."
"Sure."
There was a pregnant pause between the siblings, Molly simply smiled through the screen as Sheldon's slumped form seemed a little bored. Well, his form always looked a little forlorn and uninterested in just about anything. His eyes glanced to the side for a moment, eyeing the cold drink her had taken from his pathetic fridge and scooted it closer. Molly seemed to be doing her own arranging, as one hand was out of view and fiddling with something.
"So..." She began again, after some time. The rustle of papers drifted through the speakers and then settled as she did. "One reason I wanted to talk to you, besides the usual amazing pleasantries, your heroic tales of school that are uttered with a few words and now our weekly chats about Game of Thrones. Are you busy at the end of July?" Though pixalated, Sheldon could see a little hop ringing through those golden eyes of his sister.
His own were set upward, he hummed and rubbed his hands together in thought. "Well, I did plan to start a wonderful trip around the world via dirigible." A smirk.
Molly made a face and rolled her eyes. "Oh goodness," she feigned a sigh. "Who else shall I give this four day pass to Comic Con to?" The back of her hand went to her forehead, daintily, playing the perplexed maiden with her mouth agape.
She held it until her hands fell to rest in front of the screen of her computer, now she too wore herself a smirk as she stared into the little camera lens. And then raised an eyebrow. And then pulled a hand to strike a few keys. "Shelly? Did you lose connection?"
Simply. No. Sheldon's eyes were uncharacteristically large from her offer. "Wait..." he finally said, "isn't that sold out?"
"Well, technically... they haven't released the refunded badges yet but well," her voice raised in a state of whimsy, "I told you about Sam, right?"
"Boyfriend of a few years I'm not supposed to tell mom and dad about?"
"Yeah, him."
"What about him?"
"Well, he works for one of the studios which is apparently very heavily connected to the comic book industry and for some reason decided to tell me now he's able to get passes." She smiled, his eyes were still large.
"Probably because I told him my brother was a big nerd."
"Not .. really."
"A big nerd who smokes a lot of pot now, apparently." She waved her hand, passing on the argument.
She had a point, Sheldon had to agree. He might not be as a geek as he once was, but he still held true to the love of video games and comic books and all that jazz. Obviously, Sheldon's interests were perked.
"When pro registration came up... he got you and me some tickets as well."
"You.. are shitting me."
"Why would I ever?"
"Because we're related."
"He said he wants to meet you," It was then she sounded a little worried. Was this some sort of big step?
"Maybe its the first step, then our parents." Sheldon grinned, wiggling his fingers at the screen, "I'd be worried ~ next its your hand in marriage. Ask for a dowry."
"Oh shut up Shelly!" Molly nearly screamed, her voice was raised in the least which made her nervous. Her head swayed as she looked around, to make sure no one was going to yell at her for her late call. "So... you want to go?"
Sheldon was taken a back. "Aa, DUH!" Wasn't it obvious? He might be a slacker who avoided contact with the human race as best he could, but it wasn't like he would pass up on Comic Con for pete's sake!
"No Shawn though, I hate that boy." Back to scorn.
Sheldon laughed, "I'll leave him in a ditch, no worries." Not like they were buddies or anything and had to go together - road tripping while visiting alien landmarks, hah! Shawn was not even thought of in this beautiful plan his sister held to him on a silver platter.
"Good." All smiles again. "I'll email you the plans in the morning after I let Sam know. He has a hotel and everything, you just need to get yourself a plane ticket."
"Right-o." Sheldon saluted, his grin getting bigger by the second. Comic con, COMIC CON.
"Thank you, Shelly." There was a relieved look in his sister's eyes, a load of pressure finally gone. Really, she shouldn't have been worried he would have said no. This was her brother, if he dreamed of going to San Diego for this convention then, he most likely still did now. "I have to go, its getting late and we're trekking deep into the hills later."
"Alright, try not to get eaten by bugs."
"Oh haha." Molly rolled her eyes. "Night!" Her finger tapped at a few buttons, leaving her end of the screen blank as her connection was closed. Sheldon let the program linger on the screen for a moment as he spun around once in his swivel chair.
Comic Con! HELLS YEAH!
