Eternal Sailor Chaonis was in a mood, which was still not very unusual for the guy. Recently, though, his moods had taken a turn he was not familiar with. And didn't want to be familiar with.

When he just switched between two feelings, things were simple. He was either angry or he wasn't. Feeling like causing trouble or he wasn't. He knew who his enemies were, and who weren't. No shades of gray, that was how he liked to live. Because it was easy.

And he was all about easy.

But recently there had been some blurring between his black and white existence. That murky, unflattering and boring color had appeared, and now he had this gray spot in his life that he didn't know how to deal with.

So he tried to deal with it like he did with everything he did know: punch something.

He had three youma around him, but they were small. They varied in appearance, things he had scrounged up and had chase him until he felt like the number made up for the pitiful pickings. One was bursting into dust as he turned to look at the other two, the silt falling from his fingers and rising in the air off his knuckles. Punching helped.

One of the youma looked away from him, either distracted or looking for a way out. It shuffled away and he watched it, but the other attacked. He wasn't too concerned: he'd catch the thing before the night was over.

Getting over the initial shock of his transformation, it began to process in Sheldon's mind that being turned into a cat might not be so terrible; and really, there could have been worse types of creatures to suddenly be, so if anything this wasn't the worst thing that could happen.

True, it had taken him a while to turn off his xbox and to get himself outside - damn that latch - and really get used to using all four legs... and the jumping... and just operating as a cat [really, instinct seemed to take over] but he was finding himself more agile, his reflexes so much better and all his sense were just insane. This was ... actually kind of cool.

And really, he was so looking forward to all the catnaps he could have, they would probably be blissful. But for now, he felt compelled to go outside and explore - something that was a little off his character but, perhaps answers could be found along his small trek.

Answers weren't the first thing he was going to find tonight, after traveling for how long he had - he forgot to keep track, he managed better mileage this way. But what he found was a fight, and obviously not a normal one. He steered clear, peeking out from behind a nearby lamp-post as he watched the battle between the weird creatures and the guy clad in white with... wings on his behind? Sheldon inclined his neck a little further to get a better look on the situation only to wince back as the dust from the defeated youma almost pelted him in the face.

Simply, Sheldon sneezed and began rubbing furiously at his face with the side of his paw ... failing a little at the endeavour from inexperience. "Gaaaaah...."

Chaonis looked down, not expecting to see anything else moving or interrupting the fight he was currently in. Two youma to go, but one was running away and one was standing around stupidly.

It gave him a moment to figure out what he had seen in the corner of his eye, and what had made that sound. It sounded annoyed, which was a sound Chaonis was very used to hearing and registered easily in his ears.

"A cat? What are you doing here?" he asked it, not thinking its movements natural enough to be a normal cat. He shook his head.

The youma that had run away was charging toward them, seeing the cat. It seemed it really wanted to have a taste of kitty cat, or maybe it just wanted an easier target than the senshi at hand. Chaonis, for his part, didn't move to stop it right away. Why not see what the cat would do?

It had made the decision to come over here, after all.

Sheldon's floppy ears twitched from the question directed to him, though his attention was still elsewhere, distracted by the dust still covering parts of his face. "I'm-" He began, only to stop short. How well was this other guy going to react to a talking cat, were they normal to these people? - though, honestly for a few months now he had small recollections of encountering a few talking cats but he could never be too sure of how real those accounts were.

It was that question and the fact a charging youma was heading his way, angry with ill intentions (when did they never?). Sheldon's yellow eyes widened from the sight, frozen near what he had considered a safe haven of a lamp post. The only logical thing his brain could tell him to do was hunch back, though it was only because of fear, and his already fluffy tail to puff out like three sizes. It was getting closer and closer and Sheldon's body just kept getting lower and lower to the ground, desperately trying to retreat back.

It was a split second when his brain finally reacted, simply with a RUN you idiot!, making Sheldon dart out as fast as his little legs could carry him, under the legs of the youma and towards Chaonis in desperation.

Chaonis looked at the cat and frowned. Didn't want to talk, did it? That would explain why it started and then stopped, though a hundred other things would too. He didn't think past the first option, though, because that was just work. And he didn't do that. Still, if he was talking to the damn cat it was obvious he wanted an answer.

He would not be talking to an animal for any other reason.

Chaonis watched as the cat tried to hide in plain sight. Clearly the youma had seen him, and his lamp post was not going to help him. But maybe that wasn't as clear to the cat as it was to the senshi. He watched it slink down and puff out, and then finally take off running with the youma hot on its tail.

Except it was running toward the senshi of danger.

"Oh come on!" He grunted in annoyance, as if it should be clear that he was not intending on helping the little guy out. But now he had to, he supposed. The youma charged at him, chasing after Sheldon, swiping a claw at the cat when it got close enough, though it was still a few feet from Chaonis himself.

The youma was fast, if Sheldon were in his normal skin he would have been long since dead but in this new one he had a little bit of an upperhand with the speed- his normal out of shape state was still apparent though, with his huffing and puffing. Not to mention, he was a lot lower to the ground. It didn't stop the creature from getting a good sized chunk of fur with a nice long gash near the tip of his tail.

Sheldon flinched from the contact, the weird sensation of pain traveling down his body from the new appendage traveled down his spine. "Ow, ********!" He hissed out, trying to get himself not to stop. He was a lot closer to the senshi - this guy had to be a senshi - now which meant there was the possibility of salvation from the guy with wings.

"I'm not used to this!" Sheldon wailed out, in some sense of an apology (and also pain) as he rounded around Chaonis in a delicate loop. If it was any consolation, at least the two youma collided - as one was a little too preoccupied from trying to chase kitty.

Chaonis have never seen a cat get out of breath before. It was kind of funny, really. he wasn't worried about the youma, he knew they were small and easy enough to be dusted no problem by an eternal like himself. And he wasn't too worried about the cat getting caught.

Mostly because he didn't care about the cat enough to worry for its safety.

He watched the youma crash into each other and cracked up. He liked that at least, and had to admit that the cat had some nice style to have gotten that going. He did have the suspicion that it had been an accident, but that hardly mattered.

Some of the coolest stuff Chaonis did was largely on accident.

"Alright, alright," he said, rolling up sleeves he didn't have and stepped toward the youma, who were tangled up. He got in to punching and kicking them, until both were nothing more than a pile of dust. That done, he looked at the cat and tilted his head.

"Not used to what?" He asked. He didn't suspect that this cat was like what had happened to Navi. Mostly because he wasn't that fast, when it came to things like this.

At least someone had found it amusing, Sheldon still stared at the two tangled youma with worried wide eyes. His lungs were beginning to burn and he had to stop running to trying to get air to finally circulate through his system again - god, he really couldn't understand runners and how they enjoyed this sort of thing.

With their struggling state, it would be some time before they would be after him again - he wasn't sure what the deal with the guy was really. He had destroyed one of the creatures so, he would get the others ones, right? That was his deal, right? Sheldon watched him hopefully, watching as he finally dealt with the two until they were the same dust that had brought him into this situation.

The guy was talking to him again and Sheldon was very keen on not responding, as a normal cat would. But, well. He had obviously heard him, was it really worth playing innocent now? The senshi didn't seem phased that he had heard a cat talk and all, was this common to him?

"Not used to being a cat," he replied a little sulky. "And well, being chased by something like that... those...?" He added in, pointing his head in the general direction where the two youma had been.

Chaonis was not much of a thinker. He was not one to really question things that were told him. Not because he was stupid or innocent, per se, but because he had no real will to care about anything at all. And putting thought into something, trying to figure it out, was effort.

And effort was usually not fun, and thus a waste of time.

The Senshi of Danger heard that the cat wasn't used to being a cat, which meant he hadn't been a cat before, and he seemed to just file that information away for reference later. Or, more likely, to never be focused on again.

Either way.

"Monsters," he said, "youma, if you want to be technical, but I don't think you do." Moving to Sheldon, he reached down and picked the cat up by the scruff, holding it at arms length and tilting his head. Something was oddly familiar about the cat, but of course he could not place it.

So the talking cat didn't know youma very well. Definitely not a guardian cat, then, though Chaonis had about as much experience with those as he did with this new brand. Very limited, save what was necessary.

"You got a home?" It wasn't clear if he was offering to take him to it, or to throw him in the general direction, or something equally as devious. His face was not one easy to trust, particularly when he was grinning the way he was at the moment.

If Chaonis was getting a sort of deja vu from Sheldon, the feeling was mutual. Now that the two were having a less interrupted conversation, the other male's voice sounded awfully familiar; he was horrible at faces and features but sounds and voices... for some reason a trash bag was coming to mind.

The green cat didn't squirm or object when he was picked up by the eternal, his body went as limp as a noodle as he was held in the air by his scruff; oddly, it was comforting even though adult cats didn't tend to like this position. "Youma?" He repeated, pushing his ears back in confusion. "You guys really use weird words to describe things." He really only knew a few of the terms he had heard from his limited encounters with the senshi variety, but each time left him with really odd information.

"And... I do..." Why was this guy smiling like that?

Chaonis had limited experience with Guardian Cats, true enough, but he did have some things to go off of. Like they were smart enough to get themselves out of annoying traps more easily than regular cats. So while Kitty Dumpster Hotels were considered cruel for regular, brainless cats and he couldn't get away with that even with his low moral standards, they were perfectly fine for stray Alien Cats.

No one really cared about alien cats, right?

"Well, you were looking tired, is all, from all that running. Can you blame a guy for being worried about a talking cat that doesn't seem to know anything?" Worried was a very generous word. Annoyed by? Maybe. Had no pity for? Probably. Wanted to have fun with? Definitely.

He looked around and saw a trash can with a lid on it. Perfect. It was not some sealed box the cat had no hope of escaping from: it even had rusted in holes in case he did end up trapped in there for a while. Chaonis had the rest of his butt kicking patrol to complete: he was wasting valuable face punching time cat sitting.

He carried the helpless cat over to the trash cat, taking off the lid and looking inside. there was room. He dropped Sheldon in, grinning. "Stay out of trouble." He moved to put the lid down, humming to himself.

Well, Sheldon had to kind of agree with Chaonis for one point, yes he was pretty tired from all the running. Running was not the best thing for someone as out of shape as Sheldon, even if he now had the advantage of being a cat. He wasn't so sure about how sincere the male senshi's concern was though, there was just something in the affliction in is voice that kind of gave it away.

Not to mention how close that trash can was becoming. Sheldon began to struggle, too late and too pitifully as he was lowered without much fuss into the silver can. "Hey, wait!" He cried out as he descended in, flopping into the gross container that had a decent amount of yuck and slime - oh good, some of it was at least in a bag. His plea probably was just plain stupid, he had to admit - haa, like that jerk would even wait or some back.

Man this sucked, the green cat puffed and lamely threw himself against the side of the can. It was weak and tiredly, he hadn't even realized how tired he was really... and the contents of the trash can were beginning to irritate the wound on his tail. "Come back here, you a*****e!" He called out, wondering if it could even be heard with the lid over his head. Sheldon made a last ditch effort to topple the container over, pushing with all his might against the side.

Chaonis? Insincere in his concern for another living being? He would have been offended. But that wouldn't have been sincere, either.

Chaonis was a real jerk sometimes, but that was what made him happy so could he really be blamed for his actions? Some people knitted scarves or colored pictures to fill their free time and make themselves feel good. Chaonis picked on people and guardian cats.

At least he wasn't picking on real animals, right?

He heard the cat calling for him but grinned and ignored him decidedly. He was a few feet away now, walking slowly because he was interested in the way the can kept shaking and wobbling. He sighed and moved back over, having some small modicum of a heart like substance inside him. Reaching out, he pushed the can over when it began to lean to one side again, toppling it over.

There. His good deed for the day. True enough, it had been his bad deed to cause the need of it, but it still counted. He was already climbing up the nearest building to avoid being yelled at. Instincts.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 11:16 pm

Good deed? Hah, Sheldon really wouldn't consider it that in any shape or form. For very obvious reasons. At least he had an easier way out of the can, even if it was adding more insult to injury.

Even as a cat, Sheldon managed to flail like his limbs were limp noodles as the can teetered over, tipped and then crashed to the ground. Not only was it pretty painful for his body but even for the ears. Metal cans hitting asphalt wasn't a really happy sound, especially for sensitive kitty ears. "Gah..." The green cat groaned, nearly rolling out of his temporary prison and onto more solid less gunky ground.

Sheldon stayed there, laying there for a moment with a deep frown upon his maw. Okay. So that sucked. First monsters... then getting stuck in a trashcan, sure it was only for a few minutes but really. The green cat peeled himself from the ground, yellow eyes glancing around in vain. Of course that guy was gone, Sheldon sighed and shook his head.

"I need a bath..." he groaned again, turning towards home.
