Hibiki Kirisho - Squad Nine Captain - ================================================
The gods trembled The demons flockedBefore Hibiki managed to fire his own crimson cero straight towards Zenos’ chest, he managed to catch a brief glance of Zenos’ reiryouku accumulating towards the Sephira’s palm, and it didn’t take long for him to realize just what that ominous silvery white spark would eventually lead to. As the Cero exploded upon Zenos, Hibiki already guessed the success of the attack, or rather failure as he knew well enough that a successful Cero didn’t kill via explosion but rather through flesh-ripping force, something Hideki’s defeat proved to be all too true. The moment he felt his Bakudo break, Hibiki knew what was about to come, Zenos as an opponent was exceptionally fierce and relentless in his assaults, and now that his vampiric blood had been awakened, albeit accidentally, he wouldn’t stop until Hibiki was lying on the floor bloodied, broken, and most probably very much dead.
Having exhausted his other means of escape, Hibiki resorted to summoning several layers of Danku between him and Zenos, trading the spell’s defense for speed by skipping the incantation. Not surprisingly, Zenos managed to shatter through them, slamming his palm against Hibiki’s stomach. Even with his inner hollow’s voice infecting his mind with animalistic fury, Hibiki retained enough clearness of mind to know that he might as well put his own name in the obituaries if Zenos shot a Cero towards him at point blank range. In a split second, Hibiki detached a Tengu chakram from the unified blade embedded firmly against Zenos’ back, manipulating it to shoot out in a diagonal pathway to the upper left of Zenos’ position, or upper right of his position. Feeling Zenos’ nails digging into his flesh, Hibiki whisked himself away using Su, just as the Cero erupted from the Sephira’s hand.
Arriving a good distance away from him, Hibiki immediately fell to his knees, bearing the pain that shot through his legs as the exposed flesh and bone collided with the reishi platform. Panting heavily, sweat rolled down throughout his entire body, even from underneath his mask as he looked down on his stomach. Having used his Bankai to eviscerate both his inner hollow and Zenos, Hibiki wasn’t all too shocked to find that a sizeable portion of his stomach had been blasted away, as Su’s insanely fast relocation ability wasn’t able to save him from sustaining damage from the Cero, evident by the fact that he was now missing nearly half of his stomach, specifically the right portion, as it was the area that was thrown into harm’s way when the Cero was shot.
Hearing Zenos’ laughter, Hibiki covered his stomach with his only remaining functionally able limb, and turned his head to face the vampire, his mind torn between utter rage and pure panic, born from his and his inner hollow’s conflicting attitudes towards battle. At that moment, Hibiki’s personality was the dominant one, and his mind was filled with thoughts of death, fear invading every corner of his mind as he awaited his eventual defeat. However, the moment Zenos was distracted; his inner hollow seized the chance and began to take over the reins. By the time Zenos removed the Tengu chakram from his back, Hibiki had already decided this would be his last stand. Before he could rush in, Hibiki sent the Tengu chakram from behind him rushing towards Zenos. The plan was to activate Asa no Kiri while Zenos was near the chakram, and use it to track Zenos down as it required only one hand.
However, he was suddenly interrupted by Zenos’ sudden disappearance. Expecting a sneak attack, Hibiki waited for a bit, but nothing came. Eventually, his inner hollow yielded and accepted the fact that his opponent had run away, though he couldn’t understand why as though Hibiki would probably be able to pick up on the subtle hints that Zenos gave off, his inner hollow’s aggressive nature prevented him from picking up on these said hints.
Looking at his mangled form, Hibiki cracked a grin as he allowed his mask to disintegrate into nothingness, the massive reiatsu power it gave him fading away as well as his hair returned to its previous appearance, giving Hibiki a downtrodden look of defeat. But he wasn’t denying his defeat, he and Hideki certainly put up quite a fight, and he was confident that if either of them had fought Zenos alone, it would’ve been a different matter altogether. Sparing a glance towards the area Hideki previously was, Hibiki noticed that the Captain’s body was nowhere to be found, guessing that it hadn’t rotten away or looted by nearby stragglers; Hibiki assumed that Elisia was taking care of him. Content at what he had accomplished, Hibiki’s spiritual output dropped, causing the reishi platform that was supporting him to shatter as Hibiki landed on the ground unconscious. He had read the 4th Division heals their patients by replenishing their spiritual reserves, which in turn heal the patient or something to that effect. So he guessed that if he shut off all spiritual consumption, he should be able to stabilize himself until someone heals him… hopefully, at least. The winds were unleashed ================================================

Akane Itsuki, Third Seat of Division Three Akane looks to Tetsu of what he said, "Yes, you may have won that battle, but at what cost; well, at what more cost?" Akane looked btween Tetsu and Lee, seeing that they had a bit of what could be a falling out after Jacques escaped. In his words, Tetsu was correct, as he believes Lee to be a far superior fighter to most Arrancar's; then again, sometimes it's more of the tactics than the firepower and weaponry.
Akane looks to Tetsu once again as his name is mentioned, "Hm?" He listened to what he had to say, and nodded. He watches the man sit and apologize for not avenging Suzume. Akane walks over, kneeling a few feet from him and placing Suzume down. He sits next to her and keeps a hold on her hand, "Listen, Tetsu... vengeance, it suffices the need to feel that we have helped a fallen ally; but, in the end, we will cause nothing more than a bitter hatred and for a feeling of revenge on ourselves by the lover, family, or friend of the one we sought revenge upon. If Jacques risked life and limb for Neida, he knows that Neida may do the same for him. Neida would come for you if she had escaped after Jacques' death somehow." He takes out a kiseru, twirling it amongst his fingers. "I want you to help train me, Tetsunosuke. Your Shikai and Bankai are relatively good to train against, if what I saw was correct. You summon things, and those wolves you summoned, those would be useful to fight against. If anything, I could get the Hakase of the Twelfth Division to help make something for me to train on... if I asked him politely enough and let him experiment upon me a few times, eh?" He looks to Tetsu at the last sentence and chuckles with a wide smile, trying to get the man to laugh as well. Akane takes his glasses off and stares at them, "I guess I don't need these anymore." ||OOC: N/A ||

The trash washes up to shore ▼ even in this landlocked place ▼ The s**t gets thicker ▼ Its toxic
Get it out of my face Ori's face was broken to a mass of dirt with Hei's attack to his head. The man made no noise fro the attack, but his body did shrink back into the earthen pillar before reappearing at the peak of it and dispersing the form he was in. He was nude, but a cloth was formed fro the air to cover his most private of parts and he stood with a fatigued look on his face. He was not sure what Yuki was up too, but the fact that they had ceased the form they were in was a clear indication of something. This was partly due to the ability of them to still move and attack as Hei has, which means they had reiryoku left to use. Ori was running on his last reserve, and that in itself was incredibly low. He had never been pushed to such limits. His eyes floated to the various happening of the Seireitei for a few moments before it was cut off by a change of scenery accompaniment from Yuki's words. Lazily, Ori looked at Hei and Yuki in front of him and scowled.
As the planets were formed and the Hado began to finish up its formation, Ori clenched a fist. Upon its release, he shot forward only to be stopped by the first, almost instantaneous, attack from the Hado. He was shot back before being bounced around numerous times from the 88 that were left. When the Hado began to fade, Ori's body was blood ridden and even some bone had begun to show. His entire epidermis had been burned away by the amount of energy behind the attack and his eyes could not be seen to be narrowed as his eyelids had been destroyed. He was keeled over his knee and staring the two down. Yuki had been knocked unconscious but Hei was very much alive, and with his mask nonetheless. Ori was breathing heavily. He could feel himself fading away from the inside out. His eyes would begin to glow a light blue as Tomomi's spirit would begin to unbind and begin to leave his body. At this point, however, Ori yelled out in a hoarse blood covered yell, "You worthless Shinigami! I am perfect! PERFECT! You lowly piece of fecal matter cannot hope to WIN!" In his last line of energy, Ori shot forward to Hei, his right hand pulled back. Upon hitting about a foot in front of him, Ori swung but upon contact with Hei's mask, his arm would begin to disintegrate to a dust and, as he continued to move forward, the rest of his body would follow. With his death the blue light coming from his body would flow out to the sky in the silhouette of Tomomi's body. Ori had fallen. The war was, basically, over.

Hod Sephira =========================================== Arian Aes =========================================== And the flames left the pitiful earth Filled with ash it lay scorched and deadStanding in the very center of the inferno, Arian made no visible attempt to move or initiate a follow-up attack. He was not so arrogant as to assume that his opponents would be foolish enough to remain within the vicinity of the firestorm without sufficient defense, so it was odd that he was simply standing there, a statue in every sense of the word. Nu had relocated herself a safe distance away, at least from the initial waves, and Tsukiko, who was revealed to be a cyborg, withstood the incoming fire front, her superior metallic chassis actually withstanding temperatures that would make lava seem like a cold dip in the ocean. However, it seemed her exterior flesh was not so durable, as every bit of synthetic flesh was vaporized instantaneously. Moments later, when Arian’s tremendous reiatsu pressure should’ve paralyzed her head to toe, the battlefield was suddenly plunged into night, followed by the complete eradication of his flames, something that should’ve utterly shocked the simple-minded Arian dumbstruck.
But just as Tsukiko remained functional in the face of his monstrous presence, so too did Arian remain unmoving in the face of almost certain defeat. He paid no heed to the words of Tsukiko, and didn’t even move an inch when she effortlessly cancelled out one of his most powerful attacks, instead reacting to it like a cold dead corpse. Tsukiko’s sudden disappearance signaled their renewed attack, without fear Nu rushed towards Arian, her ferocity unsuited to the fact that the Sephira could vaporize her in an instant, that is if he could catch her. As he neared, two beasts born from fire clamped themselves firmly upon Arian’s legs in an attempt to pin the raging behemoth down, then as a follow-up Nu blasted a powerful lightning spell straight towards Arian.
At this exact moment, Tsukiko reappeared behind him, the timing of the two was commendable, and were Arian not in a life-threatening situation he would’ve applauded their skills with a genuine round of applause. Sadly, this was not the case, from behind Tsukiko made her move against Arian, and though the mechanisms of her attack was too complicated for Arian to understand, or even care to understand, what was important was that soon enough he found a sizeable hold had been blasted into his back and out of his stomach and general torso area. Ironically enough, this caused the Raikoho previously sent out by Nu to pass straight through him, striking, or more likely being avoided, or deflected by Tsukiko, adding a bit of humor to the otherwise serious scene.
However, the stray attack was the least of their worries. Even in the brief time he spend battling them, he could already safely assume their levels of intellect. Nu seemed to a veteran of the battlefield, her experiences and wits carrying her through even the most harrowing of battles. Tsukiko, given the fact that she probably possessed a CPU in place of a brain, was most likely quite intelligent, and though Arian wasn’t sure if she was smarter than Ori, he could still says she was far from being stupid. As such, it would come as no surprise to him if both of them had already guessed his next attack, not that it mattered to him, the war was at an end, and the only thing left for him to do the only thing he has ever know to do, to destroy.
Upon closer inspection of the hole left in his gut, one would notice that aside from the pieces of metal that remained inside, there was nothing else to be found. Which would come as no surprise given the attack’s magnitude, but someone of such fortitude would not be disintegrated by something as simple as that. So the fact that not even a scrap of flesh remained was something odd. But the answer would soon be evident as Arian’s carapace began to crack and splinter, followed soon after by the Sephira slowly hunching downward, seemingly defeated and exhausted of energy. However, when victory seemed imminent, a large crack in the Sephira’s helmet revealed a crimson skull in place of what was supposed to be the charred and bloodied flesh of Arian.
In the blink of an eye, Arian would then explode in a violent display of raw energy; the flames composing the inferno would be the highest produced by the Sephira yet at an insane 5,000 ºC, close to the very surface of the sun. Needless to say, such an attack would rob the Sephira of every last bit of energy he had left, reducing him to his sealed state, where even he would be immediately vaporized by his attack. But he had intended this to be his fate the moment Ori was defeated, having already initiated the nuke when he covered himself in the sea of flames. Tsukiko’s removal of the flames only served to interrupt his transition, causing his true form to become trapped inside the metallic carapace, as opposed to it being transformed into flames. In retrospect, it would seem that it was to his advantage that his transition had been interrupted, as it would give him the element of surprise, although given his assumption that his opponents had already anticipated this, it wouldn’t have done him any good either.

338 xxxxxxxxthe Sun locks the Heavens xxxxxxxxthe Moon eclipses the Night 博士月子 Jūnibantai Fukutaichō She was not enthralled that she had to waste her Oboro on Nu's attack, and she may have been frustrated at it had Arian done something that required the Oboro she had been saving for him. Erecting the lunar shield in front of her, she used the Oboro to absorb the force of the Raikōhō and then allowed the energy to slide off it. After wiping the shield away, she took a closer look at Arian's body, specifically where she had left her handy work. Regeneration was not kicking in; he was going to blow. In her gut, she knew it was going to be massive, it would swallow up everyone nearby, Elisia, Hei, Yuki, everyone she cared about. "Goddammit, I hate you." In a split-second, she made her decision and literally grabbed onto his body like she were giving him a bear hug from behind. "GET OUT OF HERE NOW!" She shouted, asking, no, ordering Nu to evacuate the area before Arian blew up. "Goodbye..."
Hearing the cracking sound, the gynoid uttered her goodbye to everyone, although they couldn't really hear her anyway. Well, eventually someone would tell them she saved their lives. As Arian exploded in a blaze of glory, Tsukiko's last thoughts were on Elisia before everything for her went blank. Her body and the anti-gravity surrounding it would quell the blast considerably, reducing most of it, but the super-heated flames liquefied her body completely. It was not hot enough to vaporize her chassis, but it melted quickly, dripping to the ground amidst the reduced explosion. All that was left of her, although unsee-able by the naked eye was the container that held her soul, locked inside a special fourth-dimensional barrier that was the same as the one that held the Hōgyoku. Within it's dimension, it dropped to the ground, still hidden from sight, into the pool of her remains below. The explosion over with, Arian was gone, vaporized by his own attack that had taken out at least 300 feet of his surroundings. ₪ ₪ ₪ ₪ ₪ ₪

417 םєsɪʀє υɴʟєαsʜєם, ѡαʀ ɪs ɱʏ םєsтɪɴʏ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Kenpachi Kōdo ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 11th Division Captain Though he was enjoying his nap, he was abruptly awoken by the sound of snapping fingers, causing him to instinctively reach out to snatch the hand the fingers were attached to. His Reiatsu fluctuated, dropping down around the general area as he attempted to instill fear in the person that had just roused him from slumber. He was not one to be woken on a mere whim, and grew testy when this happened. Opening one eye, the behemoth of a man looked in Elisia's direction before dropping his hand to the collar of her robes, which he collected in his fist. "The ******** you want?" He asked rudely, paying no attention to the fact that his wounds had been healed. For all intents and purposes, he had yet to notice what she had done for him, and probably never would. He stared at her through his left eye for a second before pushing her away and releasing his grip. Kōdo rolled onto his side, muttering his disdain for the unpleasant woman. His first impression of her was an annoying girl who liked to disturb naps.
Like his healed wounds, the fact that he could have been mistaken for dead when sleeping with a hole in his chest did not appear to register to him. "Damn kids, waking me up." Grumbling, Kōdo slid off the pile of rubble he was occupying and reached for his blade while closing his eye once more. While he cracked his neck with a tilt of his head and rolled his shoulders, Kōdo inhaled deeply, and then scanned the Seireitei. They were all gone. "Can't even sleep, ain't that a b***h..." As he muttered to himself, he sauntered away from the general area, quite fed up with being interrupted by anyone and everyone. Traversing the Seireitei by memory alone, he finally found himself in the 11th Division area, specifically the barracks. A large mass of stone blocked his way to the door of the barracks, and instead of doing the reasonable thing and lifting the boulder out of the way like he could easily do, he raised his fist and punched a hole in the wall the size of a fully grown man. Kōdo ducked inside, and after setting eyes on the closest bed, he collapsed onto it, falling asleep as soon as he hit the pillow and released his grip on his sword. The blade fell to the floor with a clatter and then all was silent.

桜木 " Nu" Mitsuru Naohito [二番隊] 「人は...大切な何かを守りたいと思った時に本当に強くなれるものなんです」
Just as soon as she thought them to be the victor, Arian does something that was completely insane. Though he managed to doge her kido, ironically through the worser hole in his body left by Tsukiko's attack, there was still something about this setup that bothered the ninja woman. What bothered her was the fact that when the Sephira's helmet cracked, there was nothing to show of his face but a charred skull, and it was only until Tsukiko brought her back to full attention to run that she fled immediately, the smaller girl's action indicating her intent. Even before his self detonation, she was taking precaution to be a further distance, and this only inspired her to break previous speeds and run faster then any time prior. She only made it safely past the blast range, Arian's explosion leaving hundreds of feet that encircled a good portion of the Seireitei, all that was caught in the explosion was reduced to a good ash. There was nothing left in the center but a pool of metal, most likely the "remains" of sort of Tsukiko, Arian seemingly vaporized in his suicidal attack. It wasn't as though she thought so little of the girl for her to be vaporized, but they were both prepared for these kinds of situatioons, only Tsukok's moment came earlier.
Nu didn't know what to do. There was nothing salvageable to give to Elisia, she didn't know how Hei would react to knowing his daughter was a puddle of liquid metal. While she didn't know the specifics, if a man could create something as advanced as Tsukiko, he could likewise fix her, even under these impossible circumstances.....at least this is what she prayed for. She didn't know who to turn to first. Yuki was the first and logical choice, being the Commander as well as the mother of the recently "deceased" She didn't want to apporach Elisia yet until it was one hundred percent clear that Tsukiko could not be saved, and only then will Nu tell her, if she needed to. By now, with Arian not her primary concern and her life not in immediate danger, Nu could finally concentrate and notice that there weren't any more foreign spiritual pressures to sense. Considerably werakened, but better then dead, they all were alive. Almost instinctevly, the first thing she wanted to do was go to Lee, but judging by where he was heading, she thought it better to leavwe him to his own devices. Instead, she chose to return back to her old barracks, her once fine clothes were burnt or otherwise covered in a fine layer of ash and dirt. Rushing through, her outfit was basic, but much more presentable, as she headed off to find Hei, the creator, in hopes of a way to get back Tsukiko.
She found him with Yuki, waking her situation even more uncomfortable then it already was. Hei was a man who doesn't show his emotions much, but even he would have to react to know his daughter was just liquidated. With a polite bow to the two, she tries her best to keep it at a professional level, though the actual feat was much more difficult to accomplish. "Hei-taichou, Yuki-soutaichou. I regret to inform you that Lieutenant Hakase Tsukiko fell in the battle with Sephira Arian, protecting me from a suicide attack...." While she could have left out the fact that she was protecting her, it wouldn't be fair to the parents if they didn't know.

604 Hakase Hei Jūnibantai Taichō "...allow me to show you a fate worse than death." For whatever reason, be it lack of concern or sheer exhaustion, Hei did not move as he watched Ori's fist come flying at his face. If it had hit, he thought, it wouldn't have done much; he was on his last limb as it were so there would be no real power. Thus, Hei was showered by the dust of death and continued to stare in the same direction, seemingly lost to his thoughts. He finally exhaled a moment later when he sensed someone approaching and, in order to preserve his image of always being focus, he turned back to Yuki's face, gazing upon it while he thought about his next course of action. In a way, Nu's words hit him like a ton of bricks; the news came as a shock to him because he did not expect his child-like daughter to ever risk herself for anyone other than Elisia. Part of him wanted to get mad at her for needing saving, but at the same time he knew he could salvage her. He did not know the terms of her demise, so he did not understand the extent of the damage that she had taken, or that she had been liquefied. Without that knowledge, he thought it would be a simple rebuild of her body and a reboot. But still, he was without a lab, he did not have the necessary materials to rebuild her and wouldn't for months. Her spare body was lost in the explosion a year and half ago too, and these thoughts brought forth a nearly uncontrollable rage that was reflected in his Reiatsu. It did not become visible, nor was it very prominent, but it was readily felt in the air.
He stood, picking Yuki up as he did so and then turned towards the area he had last felt Tsukiko in, ignoring Nu completely now. He did not have time for games, Yuki was in a coma, Tsukiko was injured, and Senka was god knows where at this point. It was all he could do to not flip his lid that Tsukiko was here instead of watching her; it had been that way when he first felt her enter the Seireitei, and was still that way now. Without a single word in response, Hei left Nu there, and followed his sense to the area that had been cleared out by what he thought to be a large explosion from a nuke of some sort. Now, he feared the worst. Pushing past the horrible thoughts running through his mind, Hei continued until he saw light shining off the ground and as he got closer he saw the remains of Tsukiko, the puddle of liquid metal. "No..." Instantly his mind began to race, he knew what it was but didn't want to accept reality. "Not again... No..." At top speed, his mind raced frantically, trying to make up some excuse that it wasn't true, but deep inside he knew it to be true. "Dammit..." In a mirror image of Yuki, several years prior, Hei sank to his knees at the edge of the puddle and hunched over while he cradled the unconscious Yuki in his arms. A chill ran down his spine, and then the thing he had been trying to fight happened. A single tear cascaded down his cheek and landed on Yuki's chest, followed by another and then another, until he was full on crying without making a single noise. He was still hunched over so his face was hidden, but it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that he wasn't taking this news well.

⋆⋆⋆∥ HAKASE xELISIA ☇【 yonbantaixTAICHO 】 As she hadn’t entirely expected him to be awake or functioning normally, she was in a rude awakening as he grabbed her hand, effectively stopping her clicking as well as forcing her to stay around for longer than she would have preferred. The familiar feeling of fear grew in her, but she dispelled it when she released her own Reiatsu to combat it, confirming to her that this stranger was a Shinigami no matter what. As he directed a rather ungrateful and bad-mannered question towards her, she returned it with no words and a defiant glare, irritation written plainly on her face as she stared pointedly at him. While she was not asking for flowers, or for gifts or for even simple words of gratitude for something that was essentially part of her role, to be treated like thus was something that she did not and definitely would not put up with, because he was one of them or whatever. When he let go of her hand, she jerked it back hurriedly, wanting to simply get rid of this ever-increasing annoying person, who, for whatever silly reason, was now painting her to be the one in the wrong here. Just because she dared to wake him up? Letting out a huff of annoyance as he left, complaining under his breath, she kicked at the nearby ground, feeling a sudden need to vent her anger on something that she would not have to heal later on. “Ungrateful brat!” she called after him, responding to his label of her as being a kid.
Taking that with a pinch of salt and simply treating it as something that was necessary but painful, she stalked off in the opposite direction, soon moving swiftly again. She had nearly missed Hibiki completely, due to the fact that his presence was faint and weaker than she was used to with the others, but luckily enough, she had remembered the rough whereabouts of where she had picked up Hideki from before. It was a fortunate thing for him as well as it seemed like half of his stomach was missing now and he was unconscious. Rushing forward, she threw herself into action, letting her work be an outlet to get rid of her anger. Unable to use any more Zenji, she compensated by using copious amounts of her own blood, coupling it with an Iyashi to combat any pain as well as Keikatsu and Shōshaku to patch up any necessary areas. She had nearly finished this particular part of her healing, when she was distracted by a massive explosion from the general direction of where she believed Nu and Tsukiko to be. Torn between a desire to ensure that everything was alright and her work at hand, she dragged herself to finish the task. Hurrying herself along, she bandaged the stomach area of his body and transferred some of her own blood over to him, before lifting him up, similar to what she had done with Hideki, and heading off. Her only brief stop was where she had previously been, near where Tetsunosuke and Akane and she slipped inside her own barrier, gently placing Hibiki’s body next to Hideki. If she was going to be moving, it might injure him further and since Tetsunosuke had thankfully taken on the task of guarding them in case of everything, she’d might as well secure his safety first. As she did not want to interrupt Akane and Tetsunosuke, she merely smiled at them before leaving again towards where she had seen the explosion before.
The first thing that she noticed was the fact that there was a massive surrounding area that was completely bare, having been stripped of everything, and the next was the figure of Hei, whom she hardly expected to be around. Perhaps he was checking to see how Tsukiko was faring? Slowing down her pace a short distance from Hei, she pursed her lips in a confused manner, remembering that she could hardly feel her wife’s presence around. She approached him warily, still partially afraid of the temper of her father-in-law, her focus completely on him and Yuki as she softly remarked, trying her best not to disturb him, “Hakase-Taichō, is the Sotaichō alright or do--” The words abruptly dried up in her throat as she trailed off, at last becoming aware of the fact that he was obviously affected by something. About to inquire about what the matter was, the glimmer of light reflected from something on the ground caught her eye and she glanced at it briefly, her eyes widening at the sight of the puddle of liquid metal on the ground. Automatic fear and anxiety rose in her chest and she fought hard to keep herself under control as she scrambled hysterically around for some reason, anything that could explain this except for the one thing that she feared and had always feared the most.
“Is that…she couldn’t…why…impossible…thought that everything…alright…” her words, like her thoughts, were jumbled up and erratic, leaping from one to another. However, there was only one word that stood out from the rest and the only one that she could link to the entire matter and she breathed it with dread, “Tsuki…” That single word confirmed everything, her suspicions, her worries, her theories – it wiped them out in one massive blow. Her entire body was shaking and even now, the voices of Huang and Akane were utterly silent, having been banished to a far corner of her mind by herself. Suzume was bad enough and she had barely pulled herself through with the thought of those left. But what would happen now with Tsukiko gone? As another ray of light bounced off the metal, she clutched desperately the wedding ring resting on her left hand, nervously pulling it up and down in her distress. Unable to support herself anymore, her legs buckled and simply gave way and she fell to the ground, landing on her knees as she stared blankly at a random point in front of her in the sky as the half of her mind that was refusing to believe what had happened, slowly accepted it as fact. She bent forward, her head nearly touching the ground as she choked back sobs, her tears flowing once more. It felt as if her heart had been wrenched from her chest and she felt absolutely cold and dead inside. Her cry of anguish burst out of her mouth, unable to be kept inside despite her best efforts, and she mumbled her wife’s name over and over again, as if hoping that calling her would bring her back from the dead and back into her arms once more.

911 Hakase Hei Jūnibantai Taichō "...allow me to show you a fate worse than death." Whether it was him getting more upset as time passed or that fact that he could now hear Elisia upset that made it even harder for him, it didn't take much for his mourning to turn into rage. Just like that, his emotions shifted, as did his Reiatsu, creeping out of him like black, shadowy tendrils as he began to set Yuki down and rise from his feet. He felt himself getting another wind, likely from pure rage, that turn his exhaustion on end and tossed it to the wind. Likewise, he felt the Hollow within him stirring, latching onto his every negative feeling and growing stronger and stronger until it could no longer be tamed. Pain shot through his body all at once, but that was ignored, and as he lifted his head and stared at the puddle of metal through his bangs, his sclera went black as a far more alarming transformation began to take place. Extending, his fingernails shot out of his gauntlets and sharpened to a point as his fangs began to lengthen and smoke billowed from his mouth as his mask began to form. It took little under a minute for his fully awakened hollow to transform him into a mindless beast filled with nothing but rage. As he stood there, now topless from the transformation, a single thought raced through his mind; revenge. Zenos was gone, his woman as well. Those other two had not died either; he had not felt them fade away but instead vanish into thin air. He felt in tip-top shape and they were on their last leg of power by now. Kill them all? Why the hell not, they had taken his daughter, put his sister in a coma, and were probably responsible for everything from famine to SARS. Or, at least, that was how he rationalized it.
The hollow lifted Hei's right hand and tightened the muscles in his fingers to shape them into a claw, which he then dragged across the air to tear open a crudely-shaped Garganta. Turning to look at it, the beast threw back his head and let out the all too familiar scream of a Hollow, and then froze in place as the mask on it's face began to crack. Unfortunately for the hollow, it had overlooked Hei's exhaustion in it's excitement, and had neglected to take into account how long the mask had been used and what he had done with it. "Not again..." The hollow whined as it was swallowed up by Hei's mind once more and the captain collapsed where he stood, knees buckling and sending him down towards the ground where he fell onto his back. As his vision became groggy, his body started to shift back to normal and he lay there in pain from such rapid adjustments to his skeletal structure. "Why me..." Was all he could mutter as he stared at the blurry sky, unable to move so much as his own finger. His head flopped to the side shortly thereafter and his thoughts went back to the first time Tsukiko had died. Staring at her lifeless body in his hands, hearing the sound of Yuki sobbing on her daughter's deathbed, and trying to figure out just what the hell he was supposed to do from here. Then his memories jumped forward to where he had the idea of extracting her soul to put it in another body; like that even mattered anymore, she was completely gone. Soul and all... soul container and all. "Soul container..." He said weakly, remembering now what he had forgotten in his moments of weakness. "Need... to..." He could barely speak at this point, and he really needed to get up and make the Seigenshi swarm that puddle; but he still couldn't move. "Make... sure... help... Eli..." As he focus all of his energy on moving, he was ecstatic when he saw his finger twitch, but his heart fell when he realized that was all he could muster up. He needed to move and find it, if not to make himself feel better but to help Elisia cope that she could still be brought back. If he couldn't do it now, he'd pass out and he might never be able to find it again. "Damn..."
All at once, his line of sight was filled with a black shape who jostled his hand as it removed his gauntlet and moved away. Shouhi stood at the edge of the puddle and fixed the gauntlet to his own hand before lifting it, palm upwards, and adressing Hei. "Allow me to help you, my master. Kangen Ryōiki." Upon hearing the voice of Shouhi, Hei felt at ease, and after the Spirit spoke a black cloud erupted from behind him, which swarmed upon the puddle of liquid, sweeping away the metal as it broke apart the 4th Dimensional barrier surrounding Tsukiko's soul container. "Seal." He commanded, causing the atoms to vanish --revealing the container-- and the gauntlet to convert to pure energy and reform as a black combat knife that appeared next to Hei. Shouhi bent over to retrieve the futuristic capsule and inspect it before kneeling in front of Elisia and depositing the capsule in her lap. "Your wife." With this, Shouhi stood and took a single step before turning into smoke and dispersing into the air. At the end of it all, Hei breathed a sigh of relief and passed out before he could say another word.

桜木 " Nu" Mitsuru Naohito [二番隊] 「人は...大切な何かを守りたいと思った時に本当に強くなれるものなんです」
In all truth, Nu would have wished for yelling then the silence. It was clear that he was upset over the news, anyone would be, and Nu could do nothing but stand there and take it, watching as he picked up the comatose Yuki and head off in the direction of the explosion. She had more then enough reasons to avoid Hei for the rest of her life now, but she felt compelled to follow him, a good distance away from the man as he approached the small pool of metal, the only visible parts of Tsukiko left. She had enough courtesy to let the man weep, she had no business to disturb him, but it appeared someone else did. The one person she didn't want to know about this until it could be proven otherwise.
Elisia
It wasn't long before Elisia fell to her own despair, the girl crying uncontrollably for her lost lover. Nu had seen the two grow in their relationship, been at their marraige, but she could only imagine what pain the small girl was feeling, and her anguished cries not only affected Nu, but apparently Hei, as his reiatsu shifted, becoming visible and sinister, his body rising and transforming in a form she thought she would never see again. This was worse then bad, even more so with Elisia so close. Just as soon as a garganta was formed, the mask upon his face broke, meaning that, as Hei fell, he managed to keep the hollow in check. From this distance, Nu could not tell what Hei was trying to do, but it seemed as though his zanpakutou knew, and promptly revealed, from what once Nu could not see, a metal capsule of some sort, placing the device in Elisia's lap before vanishing just as quickly as he came.
Nu walked as quietly as possible to the slumped girl. Honestly, she didn't know which one of the two were hurt more. Still, he couldn't leave her lying on the ground like this, they had to get organized a bit when the two siblings. "Elisia, can you stand?" a cut up hand to the girl's shoulder, she couldn't offer the girl a smile at the moment. What would she do once she realizes her wife's death was because of Nu's own weakness? Wondering if she could lift both Yuki and Hei by herself, her gaze went from the comatose Commander to the newly unresponsive Hei. "Elisia.....about Tsukiko..." She was too old to feel this nervous, but it couldn't be helped, she had at least a right to know the circumstances of Tsukiko's sacrifice. " She sacrificed herself to condense the explosion. It could have stretched out a lot farther, but she knew what to do. If I had just beaten him earlier so she wouldn't have had to be here......" This wasn't a time for a pity party, so she managed to stop there before breaking down as well. Instead, she looked at the capsule resting on the girl's lap, her head slightly tilted. "One of Hei's spirits picked that up from near Tsukiko's pudd......erm, what is it?"

Jūbantai-Taichō Eriko hunched over and brought her knees to her chest as the boy began the tale. She sighed with relief at the first sentence but her features remained neutral as he continued. She nodded ever so often so that he would know that she understood what he was saying. That is why she took notice of the pause aften his mention about barely leaving a trace of the Sephira. Was there a trace? If so, why did he feel it correct to hide it from her, his superior? Eriko continued to look at him as he spoke, her legs falling as she readjusted herself. She furrowed her brow at his saying that he had been scared for her. However, she waited until he had finished speaking to make her response. "You did not have to be scared for me, Shiruba-kun. Cho knew the dangers of performing that ability basically on her own. It would not have killed her or me. Remember that next time, okay?" She patted the nearer one of his shoulders and presented a small smile for him before pressing down on said shoulder to raise herself up to a standing position. It was a wobbly process but she managed to reach across the room with a bumped toe, at least. There, she turned to face the male and eyed him for a second before opening her mouth to speak. "Anyway, I guess the correct thing to do is to thank you for your help. So...thanks." With that said, she raised her hand at him and leaned against counter, making her way to the door. Honestly, it was not anything personal against the male. It was just that currently, she wanted some alone time as well as that there was the issue of Suzume's dead body in her office. Without waiting for any word from Shiruba-Fukutaicho, the young Captain opened the door and made her way down the corridor, holding onto the walls for minor support. Her path led her out of her training center into the maze of the barracks for her Division. Fortunately, her memory had not been affected by the sudden physical exhaustion. She took the stairs slowly upon arriving on the middle building, happy on the inside that her precious home had not been detroyed in the war. It was there that she was struck down for a second by the quick press of Kodo's reiatsu but she was able to move on after a moment or two.
Finally, after five minutes of careful strolling, Akiyama Eriko opened the door to her office ajar and stepped in without reaching for the frame. At the side of her already low table, lay the cold, dead body of her successor. She bit her lip and let the door fall behind her as she approached the motionless being unnecessarily tentatively. She slipped to the floor, her legs off to the side, and her right hand passed through the air above the corpse. It was only at that moment that she realized something: This body, it did not belong here. "Cho!" If Shiruba was still in the other room and seeing the sword, he would an exotic, glowing green and black butterfly fade into visibility above the Captain's sword, fluttering there before flying away in the direction of her master. Cho the butterfly arrived a few minutes after the call but only used to a second to transform into the white-haired sprite. "Yes, Akiyama?" Without looking up, Eriko answered her, "I need your help to move Suzume to the Gobantai Grounds. I know that there is a small chance that I will see...him but I am willing to take it. He deserves to know." Silently, the pair of girls stood in tandem with Cho taking the girl and Eriko hoisting her sword into her arms. Together, they walked down the halls, the staircase and out into the streets. It was probably the most peaceful silence that they had ever shared and for that reason, neither one of them felt the need to break it with chitter chatter.
Once outside, not knowing how the battles were faring for sure, they kept to the shadows as much as was possible with their load. It was not long before they arrived at the entrance, slipping in carefully. Eriko stopped when they were on other side, using what skill she had left for art of sensing other people's reiatsu in order to ensure that the man was there indeed. With a sigh, she nodded to her Zanpakuto spirit and continued to lead the other female into the heart of the grounds, heading for Lee-Taicho's office. Her chest kept heaving with anxiety. The gods knew that this of all things was the last thing that she wanted to do especially in her current frame of mind and health. However, honor outranked that so here she was walking through the corridors in search of him. As the reiatsu feel grew stronger, Eriko twirled the dead girl's sword in her hand until they were both in front of the door. With a final breath for whatever it was that she needed in that moment, Eriko pushed the door open, greeting the man in her most professional voice, "Lee-Taicho, I apologize for being the bearer of such bad news but," she stopped there, letting Cho walk in, holding the corpse bridal style yet carefully. The older woman stood to the side while Eriko closed the door behind them. She was slipping already, the combination of being hurt and having to give hurtful news growing in her chest steadily. She opened her mouth to speak again and started off naturally with a croak, "It happened at the beginning of the battle before you were even here, I'm sure. I saw her first so I asked Cho to carry her to my Division and then, it dawned on me, she should be here with you." With the last word, she glanced up at him and before she even dared to realize it, her feet were moving in his direction. To comfort him? The audacity if he accepted it! However, she was already a foot away from him and it was that she stayed, catching herself. "Again, I am sorry." That did it. She was not upset about Suzume's death anymore. She was sorry that she was not strong enough to punch him in the face, adding to whatever damage he might have suffered in battle. The tears were flowing already though but still trying to feign emotional strength, she reached out to him and said again, "I am so sorry for your loss," she smiled weakly at him, "b*****d. Cho, give him Suzume and let us leave please." She shook her head and wiped at her tears, turning already to leave this place of all places. As fate would have it though, she struck her toe a second time on the same chair that she had been sitting in when two years ago, Lee gave her false hope in the shape of a hopeful kiss. "Damn it!" She fell back into said chair but hunched over immediately so as to keep herself hidden. XXX Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson "If only I was worth the wait." |1325| Masashi, Lee, Gobantai Taichō"I cannot stand who I am, I'm this man. With this blood on my hands, in this blood I am damned. So watch my wings burn as they burn in the fire. Don't scatter the ashes, no need for the choir." Lee ignored Tetsunosuke for the most part before leaving, past experience with the man told him nothing he said would penetrate his thick skull. Perhaps he to was guilty of the same, but Lee liked to think that on the important things he was not so closed minded. Either way he left in silence doing his best to ignore the battles currently going on. However the huge explosion of fire was not hard to manage to see as he made his way towards his office. The explosion erased Arian's reiatsu completely and Ori's was gone as well. Letting out a small sigh of relief as the battles officially ended, Lee made the last few movements to his office and went inside. Ignoring all else as he looked around his office he was struck by just how worn down and generally unused it was. Cobwebs were everywhere and everything in it just looked rundown. Standing with his back to the door, Lee just stood still, trying to process everything that happened in the day. It felt like he was far away for a few moments, isolated from everyone else. Then came the approach of a familiar reiatsu causing Lee to sigh, and intending to find some way to tell her exactly what needed to be said. It just seemed like a lot to say and on such short notice. Not to mention the last thing he wanted to do right now was hurt her, and with his path laid out in front of him that was quite unavoidable. It felt like he had betrayed her deep down, it felt like he had betrayed a part of himself. Maybe he had.
Hearing the door being pushed open, he didn't turn around, not wanting to face her just yet. Then her words floated towards him, and turning around to face her, he adopted a confused and somewhat quizzical gaze. Bearer of bad news? Wasn't that what he was supposed to be? Then Cho walked in and the body she was carrying became quite visible. Eyes widening Lee could not stop the shocked expression from spreading throughout his body, and almost literally freezing him in place. His face then visibly lost nearly all color. No this wasn't right. He was supposed to protect her. He was supposed to make an effort to get to know the girl more after this battle. She was his fukutaichō, his responsibility, and he had abandoned her to her fate. "Suzume-san..?" Letting the name escape his lips, he got the feeling of being far away again. He could hear Eriko's words, but they didn't quite seem to register as he stared down at the body of his now deceased fukutaichō. His eyes didn't miss Eriko stepping towards him and stopping, obviously abandoning an attempt to comfort him halfway through. Still he remained frozen eyes returning to staring at the body. The recluse in him wanted him to just crawl into some dark corner and be in silence away from all others. Why was he so upset over a girl he barely knew? Then it hit him. He had barely knew her and had made no real effort to get to know her on more than a professional level. Why? Sadness overtook the shock after a few moments, and Lee let out a few calming deep breathes in an attempt to get control over his body again. He should have been there to protect her. It should have been him that was presented as being deceased instead of the poor girl before him. He had lived a long life and she certainly deserved to live more than he. Did Elisia know?
Lee was drawn out of his paralysis by the sight of the tears flowing down Eriko's cheeks. Instinct told him to comfort her and protect her from whatever was causing her sadness and pain. Reaching out for a moment as if to wipe away the tears he stopped himself as he realized what was causing her pain in this instance. He was the one causing her pain. The realization that she knew caused him pain on some level. The part of him that felt as if he had betrayed her and himself, called him names that he wouldn't have dared to say out loud. He didn't even visibly react to Eriko reaching out to him. Closing his eyes and letting his arm fall back to his side he winced a little when Eriko called him a b*****d. Yes he was a b*****d. Not saying a word Lee reopened his eyes in time to see Eriko stub her toe on the familiar chair before taking a seat, and to him it appeared as if she recoiled away from him. Yes he deserved that. Walking up to Cho, Lee took the body of Suzume from the woman and then gently put her on his desk. Checking for a pulse as if this was all some cruel joke and she wasn't really dead, his hope was shattered as nothing was found. None of this was right. None of this was supposed to happen. He might have devoted more time to mourning his lost fukutaichō had Eriko not been present and sitting down hunched over and hidden from him in some form of despair. Whispering a few mournful words to Suzume, he then turned his attention to Eriko. Opening his mouth a few times he found himself unable to properly form the words that needed to be said.
Biting his lip in frustration Lee stopped before blood was drawn and opened his mouth again determined to give her the courtesy of telling her. "I see you know. You weren't supposed to find out in the way you obviously did. I had intended to tell you after the battle. I see that is not needed any longer. You probably hate me right now and rightly so." It would make it so much easier if the woman hated him. "I deserve every ounce of your scorn. I didn't mean to hurt you. Though in hindsight my decision could do nothing else. You deserve someone better. You deserve so much better." Pinching the bridge of his nose for a few minutes Lee sighed trying to keep his voice even and calm, despair threatening to overtake him should he choose to let it. "I don't deserve either of you. I never have and never will. You can and will find someone more suitable and surely a better man at that. Just don't let me ruin it for everyone Eriko-san. You have so much to offer. You are such a wonderful woman. Don't give up because I hurt you. Don't shut yourself off." Looking down at the floor for a few brief seconds he looked towards Cho for a moment or two before looking away and turning back to Suzume. 'So young to die. I was supposed to protect her Namihime. Now I have failed her. It feels like I have failed everyone.' Hearing no answer in response aside from assurances that he had failed no one, Lee closed his eyes tightly regaining his composure, and then proceeded to turn back towards Eriko again. "If it would help then hit me Eriko-san. I am to blame for your pain and therefore I should be the one to bear it." He couldn't stand to see her in such a state while knowing that he was the cause of it all. After all despite his choice, he did still love the woman just a few feet away from him. Lee felt as if he had killed a part of himself and would never see it again. A feeling that he did not like in the slightest. Not bothering to brace himself for the possibility of being hit he instead closed his eyes. He didn't want his golden orbs to give her any reason not to hit him. He deserved it and so much more.

Jūbantai-Taichō When Lee found his voice, Eriko began to rock back and forth in an effort to push the words to the side but still the managed to infiltrate her mind. The crying had stopped. Her face was just wet with being upset. She breathed at his mention of her deserving better than him. There was a time that that did not seem possible to her. She was young and foolish, eh? From that point, she was answering him in her mind, not daring to trust her voice to allow the survival of her thoughts. Then, become a damn hermit and leave. I think that it is a little late for shutting off, ya idiot. With his pause, she took another breath but continued to rock back and forth. She was expecting more pitiful words and promises of how this would all be better. He delivered well. When she was sure that he was not going to babble anymore, the broken woman pushed herself into a sitting position, passing her hands through her damaged hair, eyes averted. Suzume's sword had been resting in her lap during the whole experience. "That would make you feel better, wouldn't it, Lee-chan? Taking a physical beating while I stew emotionally. What a man." She laughed at this and stood out of the chair, taking the sword in hand as she approached him, stopping even closer than a foot. If she leaned in any closer, the buried fool of who she used to be could relive a few moments of glory by pressing lips to lips. Fortunately, that fool would not be coming back if ever. "So, no, it would not help me to hit you. Would it make my day and provide fleeting joy? Hell yeah but I am not going to do it. I am already bearing the pain, baka while you get choice number one with whom to ride out into the sunset." There was a pause. "Yeah, smacking you till you cry just not going to cut it." She watched him from head to toe before raising the sheathed sword in a threatening manner before slamming it onto his desk. "Mourn your dead and live with your choices like a man instead of asking for a little boy spanking. Cho." She turned on her heel and the spirit was there for her to lean on as they opened the door and walked out of it. Of course, she wanted to hit him. Her first thoughts about the situation had possessed a muderous twinge but he did not deserve to know that.

|447| Masashi, Lee, Gobantai Taichō"I cannot stand who I am, I'm this man. With this blood on my hands, in this blood I am damned. So watch my wings burn as they burn in the fire. Don't scatter the ashes, no need for the choir." Lee knew deep down that his words weren't going to do much, but he felt the need to at least try to reach her. Had they come from anyone else then they might have had some effect, just not coming from him of all people. Perhaps he had no right to even say any of those things to her. Eriko shifted in her position in the chair and then spoke to him. "No it would not make me feel better. At this point nothing is going to make me feel better Eriko-san. I already feel as if I have betrayed a piece of myself. I doubt anything will make me feel better at this point." Her laugh was not surprising, and upon feeling her breath hit him he opened his eyes and looked down slightly so he could peer into the shorter woman's eyes. He would give her that much. Given the words she now threw his way it was obvious that there would be no friendship afterward. Perhaps that was for the best. Gazing at the sword as it raised in a threatening manner he returned his gaze to Eriko moments later. Hearing it slam on his desk she then decided to throw more angry words his way that he felt he probably deserved. "The choice was not easy for me Eriko-san. Simply choosing neither of you would not have done the trick either. Choosing between the two women that I love is not something I ever wanted to do to begin with. Whether you hate me or not at least do yourself the courtesy and consider my words. You will find someone that will make you forget all about me. Goodbye Eriko-san."
Turning around and resting his hands on the desk he leaned down on it. He was unsure of what to do now. Eriko's anger was understandable and that made it just that much harder. Why did he have to choose? Did he even make the right choice? It was a question that was sure to eat away at him. Loving either of them was not hard. Still his choice had been made and it was too late to go back on it now. Looking down at Suzume it became easy to push such thoughts away. "I should have been there to protect you Suzume-san. I should have made an effort to know you. I should have done so many things differently. Please forgive me for not doing what a proper Taichō should have done. May you rest in peace." Letting out a sigh he just stood there. Ears trying to catch any indication if Eriko was still present or if she had left.
