InformationName: Akiyama Eriko Appearance Age: 20 Actual Age: 402 Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Personality: Eriko is a very shy person amongst strangers. However, once she gains a sense of security in her surroundings, the young adult can be very sociable. This does not take away from her almost tactless method of communication. If angered by a comrade, she is more likely to walk away from the fight than to resort to violence. In battle, if placed in such a situation, Eriko struggles with her desires to fight alone and the undeniable need for teamwork. She would rather do assignments by herself but will work with others, if need be. With the recent personal events, Eriko has had a change of heart and priorities. Her heart has hardened greatly. She is not the most efficient of the Captains in her duties. She cares more about having fun and not caring about anything in particular. Almost diametrically to who she was at first, she is not usually expressive these days unless presenting her obvious displeasure in a particular situation. Friends are still friends but men should be warned: She will bite you on sight. Her broken heart is not healing well but people might not notice that since she appears to be on cheerful speaking terms with Lee-chan. Bio: Born in the 17th century, Eriko lived in the poorer sections of Soul Society with what little family she had. Her father worked all of the children to the bone everyday, whether it was toiling the land or petty theft when nothing beared. Either way, if you did not make up for what you were worth in one try, get back out there to try again. Eventually, her name as well as that of her siblings made sense to her. "Child with collar", that is what she was - a slave. Her late mother had named her so.
As the years passed, changes took place to her home, her body and her 'self'. Firstly, she seemed to be working more effectively than the others. It was a conscious effort by no means. She was quick to the orders of her demanding father and suffered the least. In response to the labour, her body morphed from lanky with no muscle to a hardened vessel. People watched her differently and she would have answered in a way other than running scared if only she knew what was taking place. For the last of the modifications, she became slightly more confident in her worth. That she was meant for something more. By the time her father died and her brothers had their own families, Eriko was prepared to leave. She could set herself free now. Maybe that was the reason behind the last minute tattoo of a butterfly on her right outer-thigh. Like her, it was searching for higher ground - something more.
Against her initial expectations, Eriko found herself appointed as the Gobantai Sanseki under the leadership of the current Gobantai-Taicho, Masashi-Taicho. As the days passed, she was promoted to being his Fukutaicho. That position did not last as long as the previous one but ended with her present ranking of Jubantai-Taicho. With that recent promotion, there came interesting changes in her life such as losing the extra weight, befriending a few of her associates as well as starting to form a close bond with her previous Captain. It has been a year since that time period and the Gotei 13 has suffered some losses as well as seeing the union of Hakase Tsukiko and Riyu Elisia. During that wait, Eriko returned to her primary manner of fighting with the eight points of combat which paved the way for new techniques and special equipment that she had the Junibantai Division create for her. Finally, her friendship with Masashi-Taicho evolved over the months into a relationship of sorts. The details are yet to be decided. Unfortunately, that led only to the demise of whatever relationship that had been forming between them. After the Sephira Invasion and the Shinigami's stay in Australia, Eriko witnessed an intimate embrace between her love and her fellow Captain, Nu-Taicho. It was with a disgruntled mindset that the female went into the battle to reclaim the Sereitei. Halfway through her one-on-one fight with Kazuma, she brokedown mentally causing Cho to possess her physically until she was safe again. When that time came again, she sought after Masashi-Taicho to grant him the corpse of her predecessor. Now, she is still the Captain of the 10th Division but she is not the same person.
Division: Jūbantai Rank: TaichōAppearanceDescription: Eriko is of medium height, with shoulder length brown hair and gray eyes. Her body is not on the pudgy side anymore since the changes induced by the tablet given to her by Tsukiko. It is much smaller, slimmer and toned. She has no piercings or tattoos except for the half-green and half-black butterfly on the outside of her right thigh. Throughout the years since her admission into the Gotei 13, Eriko had been growing her brown hair as much as was possible. However, with the recent war, her hair was damaged and with her present slight emotional stability, the woman opted for a new hairdo, specifically a black bob with a ragged cut. Height: 5' 6" Weight: 125lbs. Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Gray Usual Clothing: Modern Clothes, usually a dress with jeans underneath and boots on her feet. She will wear jackets on rare occasions and a studded collar at all times. As she grew up, Eriko's taste in clothes changed and with her priorities alternated, she is more than likely to be found in a black or dark-coloured slacks with sneakers or slippers. Her feet are always wrapped in hemp as are her hands halfway up to the elbow joint. Zanpakutō Position: It is higher up on her back with the hilt pointing upwards on the right hand side and held up by a green sash that extends diagonally across her chest.

Zanpakutō Chō (蝶, Butterfly) A kodachi (小太刀 (こだち) with Wind and Earth elemental alignments.
Spirit A fair-skinned teenaged girl dressed in a sparkling green and black fairy outfit with thin, light silver wings. She is barefoot. Her hair is a bob of white, curly hair.
Inner World: A well lit but moss covered forest with a pond at its centre.
Shikai: It is triggered by the command Setsumei (説明, to explain) Upon release, the kodachi shifts form, becoming an extensive, black curvaceous blade with green butterflies at every other bend. The width remains the same in this form.
Shikai Special Ability: Jixyuumoumaku (絨毛 膜, Chorionic Membrane) : During Shikai, Eriko’s skin hardens to the point that it possesses a strong likeness to the “hard-ridged outer layer” of the butterfly egg shells. It goes by the same name. This alteration increases her durability throughout hand to hand combat and direct contact with slashes made by blades, which would have cut through her normal skin. However, the toughness of this shell decreases throughout the battle, specifically after seven posts which include the Shikai release post. Attacks will be able to affect her if taken head on but the skin heals itself in the second post after being hit. Therefore, the damage is felt for two posts – the one, where she has been attacked and the other dealing with the affected area.
* The hardened skin is likened to 13/10 Armor. It decreases by one point in each of the seven posts. By the eighth, it is 13/10 again and the process repeats itself.

Fuxaasuto Kooru (ファーストコール, First Call): A wave of sonic air vibrations is emitted through Eriko’s open mouth and is on par with a Gillian Cero as well as up to the #40 Kido mark in both Hado and Bakudo. However, this ability is used usually on the defense to cancel such attacks. When used as an offense, it disrupts the sense of hearing and balance in the opponent(s) for one post after it is called. The length of the cry itself is that of a normal scream. Furainguduumu (フライングドゥーム, Flying Doom): Eriko is granted five disks from her left shoulder blade. Once they are thrown out from her hands, their focus is on the target and if close proximity is achieved, not necessarily contact, it detonates on the spot. The capability of these disks is a distraction more than anything else and if the opponent is injured due to one or all of the small explosions, it is not intentional.
 Tokubetsusecchakuzai (特別 接着 剤, Special Adhesive Agent): A transparent type of glue is secreted from Eriko’s palms only. It binds the affected body part in place for two of her posts, which occurs after the release. This binding can be broken by the flare of high reiatsu after the first of those previously mentioned posts so that for sure, the opponent is immobile with reference to the glued body part for one post. Its strength is derived from that of the special glue that keeps the egg in place on the host plant before hatching. Jixyuufuku (重複, Repeat): With a speed that is faster than Shunpo but limited to this specific ability, Eriko is able to run a complete circle around an opponent and leave five solidified clones in her stead. This ability is used in conjunction with a more offensive attack since the latter would be multiplied by six. Eriko attacks first and then one by one, so do the clones as it increases the chances of hitting the opponent. It does not matter if you move from within the circle or not, the clones copy Eriko’s attack and target you as she did. After the last clone’s attempt, they fade and cannot be used for another five posts. It is Earth based because it is derived from the moulting that happens during the larvae stage of the Butterfly life cycle and the caterpillar sheds skins of itself. Mudana Doku (無駄な毒, Useless Poison): When an opponent is cut by Cho, a fairly harmless toxin is transferred to their body but the infected body part is of no use for two posts: 1 post where it is infected and 1 post after that. By the third post, mobility is restored fully.
Spiritual Support: Cho is able to guide Eriko's body at different points in battle until Eriko can control her body to move with the supposed grace of Cho's movements.

Bankai: Haru Chō (春蝶, Spring Butterfly) The blade looses its curvy form. In turn, it returns to the size and shape of a green katana.
Bankai Special Ability: Mizukurage (ミズクラゲ, Mizcrage): Upon this final release, the actual sword acts as a leaf so that Eriko can hang upside down from the underside of it as a caterpillar does when the chrysalis is forming at this life cycle stage. It is quite a gruesome yet beautiful transformation to witness as Eriko sheds a whole skin to reveal a curled up version of her body but it is gold in colour. A spherical, protective barrier with a green tinge is formed around her in this form so as to repulse any and all cheap shots taken by opponents while she is vulnerable. However, this is quite unnecessary as the process is not terribly lengthy in the slightest.
When Eriko parts from the pouch made of under skin, her physical appearance has changed dramatically. With reference to clothing, whatever she was wearing before the Bankai release is replaced now by a green and black outfit. Currently, her brown hair is black with the front of it being a bright green and all is held up with two clips in the shape of butterflies. Finally, the most striking part of her change is the gigantic pair of Monarch Butterfly wings which have grown out from her shoulder blades. As soon as her new body has left the chrysalis sack, it and the light green barrier disappear while the reformed sword returns to her hand. These wings are only for defensive and flying purposes. Flying is always an option whereas the defensive capabilities are weakened after five such uses by Eriko. They can repel Cero type attacks as well as #65 Kido level attacks.
* The strength of the wings is likened to 15/10 Armor. For each of the five uses, it decreases by one point and by the sixth, it is 15/10 again. The process repeats itself.

Kafun Sutoraiku (花粉ストライク, Pollen Strike): Eriko is able to turn a significant amount of her reiryoku into pollen particles and blast it at an opponent with an extremely forceful wind. The intensity of this attack is on par with that of the Energy Blast done by Muguruma Kensei. The pollen and dust from this attack induces a feeling of sleep into those who come into contact with it and as such, movements are sluggish for 3 posts. Tsubasa Sentou Ki (翼戦闘機, Winged Fighter): With her recent change in a dominant fighting style from Zanjutsu to Hakuda, Eriko is able to envelope her body in a whirlwind of gusts while fighting in a mainly hand-to-hand combat style. The forces of the winds which travel along her body increase the damage that she can inflict on an opponent as well as decrease the damage done to her but unlike the shields from her special abilities’ releases, there will be damage done if a hit is taken head on without any attempt of blocking it being made. There is no wearing it down period. Her butterfly wings come into play here as they aid her with the swinging motions of her body around that of her opponents. This particular ability can be used for any number of posts and/or in conjunction with other abilities.
Tsubasa Sentou Ki: Toruneedo Sutoraiku Ha Hidari (翼戦闘機「竜巻ストライク左」, Winged Fighter「Tornado Strike Left」) Type: Offensive/Activated/Mental or Verbal Callout The basic mechanics is that it is a straight punch. However, the energy transfer of force from the legs to the moving to the fist is converted to compressed winds in the form of multiple strong gales [41-47 knots, 46.1 - 51.8 mph] that envelope the left arm in a swirling motion. Upon the release of the actual punch, the gales merge into a miniature tornado, extend from the shoulder like a tight, hollow beam and decompress on impact with the opponent's body in order to cause more internal damage than external. It can be used at either long or short distances. The latter inflicts more damage due to the proximity.

Tsubasa Sentou Ki: Rokeeshon Baundo (翼戦闘機「ロケーション バウンド」, Winged Fighter「Location Bound」) Type: Offensive/Defensive/Activated/Verbal Callout By writing the kanji for 'location' in either of her palms and calling out the name or title of the being in question, Eriko is able to locate him or her despite if the person is visible or has repressed his or her signature. She is not sure about the mechanics behind it but considers it a fault of movement in the air, sound or no sound. As for the binding part, she writes the kanji for 'bound' over the previous word and this causes the being in question to be captured in a whirlwind of breeze across the midsection, neck, arms and legs. The binding is effective for 2 of Eriko's posts and due to the two part nature of this ability, the location spell can done without preceding the binding part of it.
Tsubasa Sentou Ki: Watashi No Gifuto (翼戦闘機「私のギフト」, Winged Fighter「My Gift」) Type: Offensive/Activated/Verbal Callout Incantation: Tsugi no izure ka kara wareware ha tsu no karada toshite sora no ugoki ga teishi suru made odoru (次 の いずれ か から 、我々 は 1つ の 体 として 空 の 動き が 停止 する まで 踊る , From one to the next, we will dance in the skies as a single body until movement stops) The focus of Tsubasa Sentou Ki is that Eriko is able to control wind but this particular ability eradicates this subordination to the point that Eriko is consumed by the Wind fully. In order to perform it properly, she has to release her reiryoku in the form of a hurricane, chant the incantation and say the name. Once the last word is said, the transformation is complete: She is invisible and her reiatsu signature is non-existent as for the next few minutes, she does not exist. The hurricane disperses at this point and the opponent is caught up in a multitude of knee strikes and kicks that add up to 500 hits all around the body within 50 seconds.
Unfortunately, that is not the end of it. Hurricane winds converge above the opponent to the point that they form a ball of compressed air that crashes and decompresses against the opponent, inflicting even more internal damage. After the collision, Eriko is able to separate herself from the Wind. However, this ability takes a lot out of her reiatsu and so, she would be very weak physically and mentally once whole again. Her reiatsu signature would be very faint but an extended period of rest should allow her to recover fully from performing it. Due to the immense cost effects of it, Tsubasa Sentou Ki: Watashi No Gifuto can only be done once during a battle if at all.
*All offensive types are meant to cause more internal damage than external to the point that only internal injuries are caused sometimes.
**They would also be more effective than normal strikes that have been combined with Wind for strength and whatnot.
***The force of unnamed wind-enforced attacks is 12/10 Strength whereas that of the special attacks is 14/10.  Banmeno Kooru (2番目 のコール, Second Call): This ability is based on the mimicry complex of insects and specifically in this case, butterflies. It allows Eriko the opportunity to counter an attack with one of the same strength and type, regardless of the details. There are no boundaries since it is more based on what the opponent chooses to do and if Eriko decides to use this ability for it or not. In addition to that, the chosen attack to copy can be used at a later moment in battle if possible. This offense can only be used twice within a whole battle or not at all.
Eriko adopts Cho's style of movement, that is she is more flexible and mobile - free. Obtained?: Yes

Skills, Techniques, and KidōShe is skilled in kickboxing. The kickboxing is a product of growing up with too many brothers and in such a shabby town. Self-defense was necessary for survival. As for the way of the katana, her schooling helped with that.
Eriko's techniques include an open communicative relationship between Cho and her, battling or not, as well as mixing kickboxing with the use of her sword. She does the latter method because both would keep her in close contact with her opponent.
After her first Inner World training experience in a long time, Eriko was able to achieve the following:
Enhanced Endurance: Training with the spirit of her Zanpakuto for almost three years non-stop has increased her level of endurance greatly allowing to go through a prolonged fight one-on-one without becoming tired in the slightest.
Enhanced Speed: She raced with Cho as well and as such, has obtained complete mastery of her Shunpo and is able to surpass it ever so often. If simply running at a higher speed than normal, Eriko fades into sight whereas she would appear and disappear solidly if utilising Shunpo.
Intermediate Hand-to-Hand Combatant: It is known that she does not follow any specified style of martial arts but Eriko prides herself on being able to twist and contort her body accordingly in response to others' actions. With her training from fighting Cho's also bizarre style of combat, it comes almost like second nature to swing around an opponent when fighting and seeming as if she is dancing.
Enhanced Hearing: With her training for First Call, Eriko's sense of hearing has improved dramatically to the point that the slightest vibration or noise around her can be picked up and identified by her. Special Equipment
Ultrasonic Arrows - These steel arrows were constructed by the Junibantai and come equipped with a bow, a quiver and special steel ring. Once tapped against any of these accompanying items, an arrow would emit a ultrahigh frequency that ranges from 20,000 Hz and upwards, which is above the normal hearing range. The piercing capability of the arrow is influenced directly by the level of frequency, which increases doubly for each tap before being pulled against a target. The chosen level remains constant throughout the attack. Also, Eriko is able to call back any released arrow to herself. If it is detained in any manner, the arrow's frequency spikes by a 100 kHz and this pulsates uncomfortably throughout the being until it is not detained anymore from returning to Eriko. The callback signal is a high-pitched whistle which Eriko has taught herself. Upon return, the ability is deactivated by one more tap against any of the items and the arrow is stored in the quiver with the others. KidōNon-Kidō AbilitiesAir Walk Description The ability of a Shinigami to walk through the air by focusing Reishi into a small platform to walk upon. Requirements Must be a 4th Seat or Higher.
Dashing Description A most basic technique that allows the user to throw him/herself to a certain direction using a certain angle of which way the the stance is directed and executed. Based on an individual's atributes, dashing can be quite a moderately fast move instead of running. Also depending on the distance, dashing can be quite useful if in closer range to the opponent. Requirements None
Shunpo (瞬歩, Flash Step) Description This demon art corresponds to a "haste" or "boost" skill, allowing a shinigami to move his or her body within a certain distance at super-speed. It is speculated that this art works in combination with foot combat, hohō. Requirements Must be of Captain or Lieutenant level.
Utsusemi (空蝉, Cicada) Description Way of Onmitsu, 3rd of the Shihō. It allows for a movement at great speed, leaving an afterimage behind by sacrificing an article of clothing. Requirements
