Solo Journal Entry (Cordelia's Homecoming/Fel Outbreak Meta Event)
~~~~~~ The ride home from the Lab was quiet. Too quiet. Although for Cordelia, it wasn't on purpose. She just couldn't talk yet, simple as that. Yet, Ebony felt like she was choosing not to speak especially with what she'd just been through. Who'd want to talk after being man-handled by one of your own so soon after your birth? Ebony gripped the steering wheel tighter, her knuckles growing white due to the strain. The image of Lazarus groping and sucking on her wide-eyed ward was forever burned into the Brit's mind now. She'd never be able to look at the red and white Sigel the same ever again. True, it wasn't his fault that he'd been infected with a virus that caused him to act on his most basic and primal nature, but it was just going to take her a very, very long time to see past that and remember how Lazarus usually was. Ebony sighed and looked to the Basilisk sitting next to her. Apparently the memories of the Lab were far from her then as Cordelia had her face pressed eagerly to the passengers side window, watching the world go by. Everything was so pretty! All the fiery oranges and reds of the leaves reminded her of something warm and she wondered how they could be such when it was so cold out. "Cordelia?" The girl spun back to face her guardian, happy to have recognized the name she'd given her and eager to show she understood at least that one word. She was it and it was her. That cheery smile put Ebony off at first and made her think twice about what she was about to say. She shook her lavender colored head. No, something needed to be said, even if the Raevan only understood bits of it. She started again, "Cordelia, you know that...that what happened back there wasn't your fault right? Lazarus..." She found it hard to wrap her tongue around his name without causing her face to frown. "Well what he did was wrong, bad. He shouldn't have done it."Delia tilted her head slight then realized the woman was taking peeks between the road ahead and her neck where that hickie was looking more and more like a really bad bruise. Gently, the dark girl graced her fingers over it and frowned at the memory of realizing what the other had done. He'd hurt her. Something unforgivable at this stage in her life. But...she'd let him and that was what was really bugging her. Had she known, she could have stopped him or at least tried, but she didn't and this made the girl both sad and angry. She looked back to Ebony only to find a mirrored pair of eyes looking at her with such a pained expression. This woman...she was special, this Cordelia knew. Like Alex to Zul and Hazeline to Xiu, this would be her woman and she saw why. She cared for her already even though their time together was brief still. With a small smile, the smokey femme pressed her hand to Ebony's cheek, letting her know it was okay. Ebony jumped at little at the cold touch, but soon sighed into it. How could something born of smoke and a basilisk be so gentle? It certainly boggled the mind, but the Brit wasn't going to question or complain. Instead she gave the hand a tiny pat and slowed into the driveway of her home, now their home. "Welcome home Cordelia."~~~~~~
Solo Journal Entry (Fel Outbreak Meta Event)
~~~~~~ “Stupid men and their…their stupidity!” grumbled the fuming female as she slathered on yet another coat of pale green paint to the white wall before her. In all honesty, Ebony wasn’t angry at all men, just one in particular, but it was far easier on her psyche if she could blame all her troubles on the entire male race instead. She’d tried, without success, to call Namini and find out how Prajna was doing. Yet it seemed every time someone picked up it was that dreg of a brother of hers and Ebony would have to hang up. Didn’t he have a job to be at or something? She huffed as she angrily made wide strokes up and down to spread the paint out. Good thing she invested in the ability to mask her number so none could call her back in such occasions as this. Not that she would answer even if he did happen to figure out it was her and called. With her anger strong, the purple haired woman was able to get through two walls without any breaks, but by now her feelings had started to wind down and she could feel the weight of fatigue starting to drag her efforts. She gave a sigh and rubbed her forearm against her sweaty brow before stepping back to take a look at her handy work. It didn’t look half bad. Although she would have preferred to keep it white, but Cordelia wasn’t having that. She’d found an interior design magazine that had come in the mail and had adamantly pushed the book in her face, pointing specifically at the green walls. Ebony had no excuse not to give the girl what she wanted since she’d been lazy about getting her room ready to begin with. She’d tried to get her to sleep in her room while she moved the boxes and stuff out, but the Basilisk was more than content on sleeping downstairs in the living room these days as close to the fireplace as she could get. In fact, that’s where the youth was right at that very moment instead of helping her guardian. Since the outburst with Prajna, the Brit had foregone leaving the house much and keeping Delia home. It wasn’t hard since Ebony had already called Aphismet a while back to put their lessons on hold until the Raevan was more settled in. Though she would have loved to have gone to Yuurei’s for Lucia’s party, but…the woman feared another possible fight so soon wasn’t healthy. And of course, Cordelia had no qualms with staying put. She was absolutely absorbed with snuggling up next to the fire and sleeping her days away. Ebony worried it wasn’t normal, but she couldn’t be sure since what was normal for a person with only half a body? She wish she could ask another guardian for advice, but all the Raevans were unique and different things happened to each one uniquely as well. A heavier sigh left her lips then as she went back to painting the walls of Delia’s soon to be room. This guardian thing was a lot harder than she thought it would be. The Basilisk mewed a yawn as one silver eye slowly opened to peer out of the confines of her fleece blanket. Soon the other followed suit as she realized she was alone in the room. Her woman must have gone to another place in the house. Oh well, that was fine, the violet haired human was always trying to wake her up from her naps. It was rather annoying. She gave a satisfied sigh and snuggled deeper into the blanket, pleased to be left alone for the time being. Her vision stared into the fiery flames before her in the stone hearth for a few moments before an overwhelming wave of heat plagued her. So bad was it that she bitterly pushed the blanket from her as if it were the sole cause of her sudden discomfort. She waited, hoping the spike in temperature would come down, but it only seemed to flame higher. Why? Why was it so hot now? It wasn’t suppose to be this hot! Her attention was quickly drawn away from the fever then and to a throbbing pain in her neck. The hickie Lazarus had given her a few weeks prior hadn’t shown any signs of fading. Instead it had turned a hideous shade of black and dark purple while growing in size. It spread like some kind of disfiguring disease to encompass more of her beautiful fair skin. Even now it seemed to creep across her features as the pain and heat rose steadily. Ebony dropped her brush, staining the wooden floor green as an excruciating scream pierced her hearing. Immediately, the Brit flew out the room and down the stairs, nearly tripping as she did. “Cordelia?!” Her grey eyes desperately searched the dim lit room for her ward. She found her exactly where she’d left her; instead the dark haired youth wasn’t sleeping anymore, but was floating eerily before the fireplace. “Cor-Cordelia?” she asked again, slightly shaky since she didn’t know what had made the girl scream. Cautiously, Ebony stepped closer to the Basilisk. The smoky Frei’s half form was shaking so violently that the woman thought the whole house would start to shake in concession. Was it because she was cold? But it was so warm by the fire. The woman tried again while reaching a hand towards the girl’s shaking shoulder, “Cordelia, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”She couldn’t suppress the sharp gasp that rushed out of her. Cordelia’s skin was covered in murky dark bruise like splotches and her eyes looked so reptilian then that it frightened Ebony to her core. What had happened to cause such a dramatic change in her charge? She opened her mouth to ask again when the girl screamed and threw several books that were on the coffee table into the fireplace. The Brit was too shocked at first to say anything, but managed to snap herself out of it when the serpentine femme practically threw herself at the flames. Ebony grabbed the girl harshly and pulled her back shouting as Delia hissed and tried to claw her way past her guardian to the flames beyond. “Heavens above, what do you think you’re doing?! Are you trying to kill yourself?! Stop it Cordelia! Stop it right this instant!” Like flipping a switch, the Frei stopped her fighting and went slack. That’s when Ebony realized her skin wasn’t icy like it normally was, but hot, hotter than her own! Frowning, she pressed a tan hand to the other’s forehead. “You’re burning up! Come on you need to get away from this heat.”She tired to move the girl away, but Cordelia wouldn’t budge. Instead she got very defensive then and shoved the human’s hands away. She hissed and rattled those sharp wings dangerously. It didn’t do anything to unprovoked the woman as she knew all too well by now that it was merely a show of warning. “Cordelia please! You’re not well. You need to move someplace else for awhile.” Ebony pleaded with her, but to no avail. Again the black Frei’s body began to vibrate uncontrollably. Cordelia moaned painfully as she wrapped her arms tight around herself. She felt like she was on fire and their was a unmistakable pressure building in her that caused the origin of her suffering to throb even harder at the base of her neck, working to push the pain to the rest of her body. The girl sobbed hysterically. If only there was a way to escape this torture? And then…she did. Before her guardian could even manage to think of a way to help her suffering ward, the Basilisk’s whole being eclipsed into darkness and she burst into smoke. Ebony gagged and coughed while trying to yell for her Raevan as she waved her hands around to disperse the screen of black. “C-Cordelia…Cor…Delia…where…where are you?” To her utter dismay, the scaly femme was nowhere within the dark cloud. Panic-stricken, Ebony started running around the home shouting for the girl. But since Delia never spoke to begin with, there was no telling whether the girl was still there and just not answering. The Brit liked to think that, but she knew better and thus kept searching and calling. Meanwhile, the smoke from the Raevan’s disappearance hadn’t settled down and gone away, but true to the nature of the girl’s essence it stuck around. Though now it slowly began to swirl about with a mind of its own and then quickly shot up the chimney, snuffing out the fire that had once been. A lilac flash zoomed in and out of rooms, opening and closing closets again and again before the woman finally came to the realization that her hope was false. She wouldn’t find her ward here. But then where was she? Ebony took a moment to lean weakly against a wall as the gravity of her situation finally hit home. Biting her lip, the woman flipped out her cell and hit speed dial two. “Alex, it’s Ebony. I need your help…”~~~~~~

Up In Smoke(Fel Outbreak Meta Event)~~~~~~ When Cordelia disappears Up In Smoke, what's Ebony to do? ~~~~~~ Status: Complete. ~~~~~~ A disheveled Yuurei picked up the phone and dialed Ebony's number. She had already made a half dozen of these phone calls with no luck yet. Lucia had run away. Did it make sense that she went to see Cordelia? Maybe not, but the blonde, still in her pajamas, was desperate. Ring. Please someone pick up. Ring. Please someone pick up. "Ello?" The Brit's voice was tired and aged with a tinge of breathlessness, as if she'd rushed to pick up the phone. "Ebony?" Oh thank god! It wasn't just another ringing phone. "Hi!-- It's Yuurei! I need to ask you something." How does one word that they can't find something they're responsible for without looking completely incompetent. Yuurei didn't care how she sounded. She was desperate, for the first time in a long time. Where was Lucia?! "Yuurei!" Here Ebony had been thinking about whether it was too late to call the blonde and yet here she was calling instead. Talk about a stroke of serendipity! "I'm glad you called! There's something I need to discuss with you. Oh sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself. What did you want to ask? Is something wrong?" She certainly hoped it wasn't something to do with Lucia. Yuurei bit her lip; "Have you seen Lucia? She -- umm -- ran away after destroying her room." Please say you have, please say you have, the woman shook her head, her mind going a mile a minute with desperation. The sun was down and Yuurei had been calling around since she had woken up. Lucia was nowhere to be found. "W-what?" Had she heard correct? Lucia was now missing! Dear lord, could this night get any worse than it already had? Shaking those purple strands, "No I haven't Yuurei. But..." She bit her lip. This was the hard part, telling the woman that it was her fault and carelessness that had possibly lead to her charge's disappearance. "...there's been an incident with the Lab. Lazarus was infected with a virus while I was picking Cordelia up. I didn't think she was exposed at the time when we met up with you two, but it's been confirmed tonight that she's indeed contracted the virus as well. I think Lucia's been infected. I'm so sorry hon."The blonde’s heart sunk. Somehow, as the last one to call, she had hoped that the cat frei would be there. But Ebony hadn’t seen her. As the woman continued, Yuurei’s eyes snapped open. "Infected? What kind of virus? What’s happened so far? Lucia seemed fine, but maybe –" Yuurei cut off her talking. Was Lucia infected? She had seemed fine at the party, but maybe not. Yuurei wanted more information, but she got what she needed, Lucia wasn’t at Ebony’s. She would need to search for the frei. She would need to search now. "I don't know. Kyou had said something about a fel essence and it only effecting the Raevans? I'm not entirely sure." She hadn't been paying that much attention to Kyou at the time, more content on glaring at Lazarus while worrying whether Cordelia was okay. "What I do know is that it's causing them to act very out of character, possibly even more so like their souls. At least...that's how Lazarus was acting." She gripped the phone tighter, suddenly very worried for Yuurei. "Are you okay? Do you need me to come over and help look?" The woman was tired and didn't really want to drag Delia out after what had occurred, but...this was her fault and she needed to help her friends. The woman wasn’t really listening to Ebony’s description. She was more worried and thinking about where she would look. The Gambino graveyard, the little pet cemetery in the woods, the Barton graveyard. Ebony was saying something about Lazarus. She began to interrupt her when Ebony asked about helping. The woman considered it, but Yuurei couldn’t wait that long. She needed to throw on some clothes and get out. She couldn’t wait for anyone to come over. "No, that’s okay. I need to get going – like – now. I can let you know when I find her or something. She should be on the news tonight too…I told the police. " This day wasn’t going the way she had planned. "I’m sorry, she said, I need to go."She blinked. The news? The police? Was it really wise to bring those people into it? After all, they knew nothing about the Raevans and if Lucia was acting out because of the virus...Ebony felt a knot develop in the pit of her stomach. Things just kept getting worse it seemed. For the sake of Lucia and Yuurei, she hoped the Cat was found soon and without anyone getting hurt in the process. "All right. Call me as soon as you know something!" Yuurei nodded; "I will, but I must go. I need to find her as soon as possible. Thanks for your help and information. Bye." Yuurei hung up the phone, not meaning to be rude, but also panicking. Running to her room to toss on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt (an outfit she was never seen in outside of the house, the blonde ran out of the house, grabbing her car keys. The search began. ~~~~~~

Solo Journal Entry (Fel Outbreak Meta Event)
~~~~~~ Ebony sighed as she shut the door to her bedroom and descended the stairs. Things had changed drastically since the night Cordelia had become smoke and attacked Rivener. No longer did the alabaster home bare any sort of warmth, neither in its fireplace or its occupants. The Basilisk wasn’t too happy with her guardian at the moment since she was keeping the place as icy as possible and Delia absolutely abhorred the cold. Not that the Brit liked it any herself, but she would do what she thought best for her ward. Even if that meant dealing with a bit of hypothermia for a while. That wasn’t the only change. Since the fireplace was off limits now, Cordelia felt she had no need to be anywhere near it or her guardian for that matter and had taken refuge in the human’s room since hers was still under construction. She slept nearly all day now, cuddled up under a huge comforter to try and retain whatever heat she had left. It did little to help and it made it that much easier to feel the painful throbbing in her neck whenever the bruise there decided to flare up. Apparently, it wasn’t happy with the drastic climate change either. Her dreams weren’t any better either. They seemed hell bent on replaying her last day at the Lab over and over again, most specifically the part where Lazarus had groped and marked her. The more she thought about it, the worse the dreams got and the more she suffered because of it. All ready was Ebony dead tired from running to the girl every time she screamed, afraid of a repeat from that one previous night, but when she tried to stay with the dark Frei, the girl just got more upset, hissing and flaring her wings in agitation. So instead of making more trouble, the Brit would come in long enough to quell her back to sleep then she’d leave. She felt so powerless, something Ebony was not use to and was despising every minute of now, not being able to help the smoke Raevan. All she could do was hope that Kyou would find a cure soon. Cordelia moaned slight, gripping the sheets tight in her fists. She was back at the Lab again for what seemed like the millionth time. Lazarus was advancing on her once more, his features wide with a hungry predator’s grin. She hissed and flared her wings as warning for him to keep his distance. But as always, he never heeded it and instead rushed to pin her. She struggled to get free, but he was so strong! Soon his hot breath was grazing across the cold skin of her neck and she felt that same odd shock of sensation course through her half formed body that she had that day. Even though she’d experienced it a million times over now (if only in her dreams), she still did not understand what that feeling was. But all too soon it was forgotten as the fire Sigel bit into her flesh. That was new, him biting her. Delia thrashed violently from the pain, both in her dream and in reality. It was like he was pumping molten lava straight into her neck! Hot! It was too hot! Abruptly the nightmare ended as the girl bolted up right, a scream caught in her throat. A hand gripped at her wound that blazed with fever. She felt sick from the heat, but oddly strong at the same time. She issued a low growling hiss from her lips as if it would be enough to chase off the pain coursing through her body. This pain…it was too much to bear! The Basilisk floated haphazardly around the room, knocking into things without mind or care to fix them. This was his fault! That crimson white Raevan! He’d given her this injury and she was suffering because of it, because of him! The thoughts of revenge crept into her mind then and she couldn’t shake them. It all made perfect sense. Delia needed to find him and make him pay for what he’d done. Throwing the window wide open, Cordelia floated herself gently, yet quickly to the ground. Serpentine eyes searched the area before she slithered away from the residence. She would find Lazarus and he would pay! ~~~~~~
Solo Journal Entry (Fel Outbreak Meta Event)
~~~~~~ After her run in with Varun, Ebony had kept an extra close eye on the smoke Raevan in case she tried to run off again. Luckily, Cordelia wasn’t putting up too much of a fight now with allowing the British woman to stay in the same room as her. But that was only because the virus was beginning to win out in her, spreading further from its spot on her neck by producing a more actively present fever and causing Delia more pain than she’d been in previously. Ebony should have probably taken the girl back to the Lab by now, but her pride wouldn’t allow it just yet. She couldn’t let the Doctor or Alex or anyone for that matter to think she wasn’t capable of taking care of the Frei, her newborn, her Cordelia. What if they thought her unworthy of taking care of a Raevan and took her away from her? The woman felt something constrict tightly in her chest like she’d die just from these thoughts alone. She’d already fallen deeply in love with the dark child and Ebony couldn’t and wouldn’t allow anyone to take her away. They’d have to kill her first. Cordelia stirred slight from her post on the bed, gasping and cringing as another wave of heat passed through her half-formed body. Actual sweat beaded down the scales of her temples as she moaned and whimpered, her body unable to keep a stable form. She’d flux from being solid matter to smoke and even to points in between where parts of her were smoke and others not. Her hair seemed the most easily affected part of her, constantly wavering to smoky tendrils in lieu of the fever. It was enough to break the Brit’s heart to see her like this. To know she was in so much pain, but couldn’t do anything to ease or stop it. It’d been sometime now and Ebony still had yet to hear from the Lab or Alex. Obviously this meant there was still no progress on a cure, yet was that because there wasn’t one? Would all their Raevans have to suffer like this forever? Or would they simply die from it? She hid behind the violet veil of her hair and allowed herself to cry while gripping the sheets of Cordelia’s bed. If she could have, Ebony would have liked to hold on tight to the girl’s hand, but the Basilisk’s current condition made that impossible and it only made Ebony sob harder. She wished someone else were here with them now. To help Ebony stay strong in such utter despair, but there was no one. Alex, Kyou, Isikoro, Aphismet, David, Namini, Yuurei…everyone was in exactly the same position as her. Worrying to death about the futures of their Raevan charges. Laying her tear stained face on the bed, the normally stubborn and strong willed woman cried herself to sleep. Vaguely as if it were in the distance, she thought she’d heard Cordelia saying something, but that wasn’t possible. Of what she knew, the girl still couldn’t speak and this was like a series of broken hisses. The purple haired female didn’t have more time to contemplate it before she drifted off into unconsciousness. A very loud hissing broke her dreamless slumber. “Cor…delia?” mouthed the Brit as she slowly opened her grey eyes. Again came that hiss and it made Ebony more alert. Was something wrong?! Something green in color danced before her blurred vision and she desperately rubbed at her eyes to dislodge the sleep there. What she saw made her body freeze up immediately, a tiny breathless gasp escaping her lips. Snakes, possibly hundreds of snakes had somehow found their way into the second story bedroom, all curling and undulating around Cordelia and unfortunately herself. She felt the shiver slide down her spine, unable to stop it while she was already suppressing the urge to scream. It may not have been anything like triggering her bug phobia, but it was just as bad. No one in their right mind would want to be surrounded by so many creatures that were most likely venomous. Her eyes flashed to Cordelia then who was sleeping soundlessly, yet still exhibiting the unstable symptoms of her illness. They had to get out of there! Ebony slowly reached a hand out towards the smoky Frei in an attempt to grab on to whatever part of her was still solid and run like hell out of there, but a terrible rattling stopped her. Quickly a rough looking brownish rattlesnake blocked her path, baring his fangs and violently shaking the end part of his tail. Suddenly Ebs was hyper aware of several sets of unblinking eyes staring straight at her. The snakes were protecting the Basilisk? It seemed getting Delia out of there wasn’t going to happen without a fight, a fight she couldn’t win. So what were the Brit’s options? One wrong move and the slithering reptiles were sure to strike. She might have been able to take one or two bites, but a whole slew of them would kill her no doubt. Remembering the cell phone still sitting in her pants’ pocket, Ebony cautiously slipped it out and hit the speed dial for the Lab. Hopefully someone there could send some help or something. She just prayed someone picked up. The phone rang for what seemed like forever and Ebony had to watch as the snakes watching her moved about in tight movements, obviously feeling the vibrations created by the mobile device. She felt they were coiling in anticipation of a threat, getting ready to spring into an attack at any moment. This made her uneasy, but luckily they remained still for the most part and the answering machine finally picked up. The British tones in her voice were so low and rushed that it would be a miracle if anyone understood what had been said. “Ello, this is Ebony Shade, Cordelia’s guardian. It is very, very important for someone to get back with me as soon as possible about a cure. Cordelia’s not well. She’s been fighting with other Raevans and now her body temperature is out of control, too hot with fever. She also can’t keep her form together for longer than a couple of minutes. And…” she didn’t know quite how to say this without it sounding odd, so Ebs just kept it simple and true. “…for some reason the house is crawling with snakes, tons of them! We are currently trapped upstairs because of them. Please! As soon as you are able to, please send someone to help!”~~~~~~ *Last paragraph is located here as well.

Solo Journal Entry (Fel Outbreak Meta Event)
~~~~~~ With no solid means to keep track of time, Ebony had to rely solely on her own mental prowess to keep track of time. That proved futile as her attention drifted between the sea of snakes surrounding her and their ill naga. It had become painfully obvious over the past days that Cordelia was something like a queen to them. She couldn’t move an inch towards the Raevan without them immediately snapping to attention and producing vast amounts of hissing or rattling depending on the type of snake it was. Hell, the damn things wouldn’t even allow her the simple decency to leave the room without fuss. So after a while she just gave up and resigned to her fate. Hopefully help would come soon. When sleep could no longer be staved off, the Brit eventually passed out and it was during that time that things had changed drastically in Cordelia’s condition. The interference from the snakes’ had hid the fact that the Frei’s rune had been flickering between its normal black and an emerald green, but now that new color had taken precedence. Her eyes had also given in to a crimson hue that gave her features this wild, feral look while feeling more reptilian than it ever had prior. Eventually the dark girl had awoken from her troubled slumber feeling this incredible power pulsing in every cell of her body. She felt…good. No, more than good, incredible! Though this could very well be the virus playing with her mind because she was very much still unable to keep her form completely solid. It rolled across her like a storm, one minute a part was solid the next it was smoke again. But other than that, Cordelia felt she could do anything. She looked to her serpent brethren surrounding her, a hand gently held out to the closest and giving them a fond, loving stroke to their scales. The snake seemed to shudder at her touch; it was hard to tell whether it was from fear or pleasure of being chosen for such an honor. Her eyes slid slowly to the purple haired human seated by her side, a wicked smile spreading wide upon her lips. Ebony wasn’t one of them, but she was hers all the same and it pleased Cordelia profoundly to see the woman clinging to her just as her serpentine subjects did. It was only right that what was hers should never leave her side, to always and forever protect their queen. And should they do this, the Basilisk would grant them the same. Ebony stirred, weary eyes slowly focusing on the smoky figure before her. The girl looked to be sitting up. So she was awake! Rubbing her eyes the woman whispered, “Thank goodness Cordelia! Are you feeling better? I thought-“ Her sentence cut short as a gasp escaped her upon realization of the girl’s new looks. It sent shivers down her spine; memories of the soul capture washing over her like it was happening all over again. She took a moment to swallow the lump in her throat and try to get past the new effect of the virus on her young ward. Maybe it was just a color change and nothing more. Ebony took whatever lies she could spin for herself and appealed to the Basilisk. “Cordelia…we have to get out of here. We need to get you back to the Lab so the Doctor can cure you.”The Frei had been smiling pleasantly at the waking human until her face became riddled with emotion. Her voice was soft, but pleading and she saw the way she eyed the others of her kin. The purple haired female did not like them and wanted to leave. She wanted Delia to go with her and abandon them. Outrageous! Unacceptable! She wouldn’t leave the place she was happy in for anything! And Cordelia would not allow her human to leave either. With a grim look, the smoke Raevan floated to a standing position high above the British woman and gave a long string of hisses, commanding her to stay where she was. Of course Ebony did not understand this unfamiliar tongue Delia spoke and thought it merely hissing gibberish. “Please Dove, lets go now. You’re not well.” The more she pleaded, the more the Basilisk grew agitated. Was she not listening? They weren’t going anywhere. She would not leave her brothers and sisters to fend for themselves. Not after they had looked after her during her time of need. But the dark girl was selfish and refused to allow her guardian to go either. She would keep her here one way or another. Slowly she advanced on the human, trying again to make her understand and obey her orders. Those grey eyes widened at Cordelia as she moved forward, hissing furiously at her. Despite the possibility of being bit by one of the other snakes (who were just as agitated as their naga then), Ebony quickly rose from her seat and backed away. Her cell phone slipped from her pocket and hit the hardwood floor with a light thud, but Ebony ignored it. For the first time since receiving the newborn, she felt the girl might actually try to attack her. Instinctively the woman tensed into a defensive stance, though she couldn’t possibly raise a malicious hand towards her charge. “D-don’t Cordelia! Please calm down! There’s nothing to be upset about!” Yet the damage had been already been done as the Basilisk roared with a loud hiss towards her guardian. What was she thinking? Would she stand against her now? Try to fight her? The smoke Raevan would not allow this act of treason to stand! She would force her human to be obedient like the rest of her brood. She quickly circled around to the other side of the woman, causing her to back into the bed rather than let her escape. Again she spoke in that strange language, her hisses taking on a strong sharpness to it. And again they passed over the Brit’s ears like the wind. “No Cordelia, please stop! Please!” Something crunched under Ebony’s boot as she whirled and stumbled back into the bed. There was something hypnotic about those now red eyes and she found it hard to look away. The Brit tried to say more, beg once more for their departure, but found she couldn’t move her lips. Suddenly it felt like everything in her body had frozen up and no matter of telling her limbs to move was garnering a reaction out of them. Fear welled up in her chest as her eyes frantically shifted from side to side, the only movement she seemed to be able to produce then. The Basilisk noticed her guardian’s stillness and was finally appeased. Good, she was done with this leaving nonsense and they could all go back to being happy in this safe, warm home of theirs. Slowly, the Raevan curled herself about her human in a loving, yet possessive manner. Ebony would stay with them here just like this forever. ~~~~~~ *What the Lab's answering machine recorded.
Solo Journal Entry
~~~~~~ When Rivener had awoken and was given a clean bill of health and sent on his merry way, Ebony was quite hopeful for her own charge. Soon everything would be back to normal and they could get on with their lives. Yet when Cordelia hadn't woken up soon after the Scorpion Sigel, both the British woman and Doctor Kyou had been greatly concerned. Since the Raevan was already cold-blooded to begin with it was a bit dangerous to use the hydrogen sulfide on her, but it was the only way for them to kill the virus from the inside. Luckily, the girl was remarkable resilient and eventually woke up, but not without some difficulty. Although the Doctor said there was no traces of the virus left in the Frei's system, Cordelia was still suffering from the after effects of the cure. The cold zapped her energy completely, leaving the girl drowsy half the time she was awake which wasn't often these days, while retaining heat had become an entirely separate issue as well. Her body just wasn't keeping it like it had, yet having contracted the virus so soon after being born, it was hard to gauge what was considered normal for herself. It could also be that the weather was playing a part in Cordelia's current condition. With winter so close at hand, most of Gaia had given over to cold snaps and light flurries of snow. Though the temperature had steadily been dropping each day, the Isle was still keeping Jack Frost at bay for the moment and for that Ebony was grateful. She disliked the cold just as much as her serpentine ward, but she could endure it far better than the Basilisk obviously. For her, she hoped the weather would keep warmer just for a little while longer. Meanwhile, the Brit made sure the fireplace was well stalked with wood and always going. Cordelia on the other hand finally had a room to herself and was mostly sticking to the warmth of her bed and blankets. Yet today she'd managed to drag herself away (blanket wrapped tight about her half form) and was lazily staring out the window. Between sleeping and keeping warm, the smoke Raevan had had a lot of time to think over the events of the past month. She remembered everything that had happened during her time under the influences of the virus. Although some memories were somewhat fuzzy due to the delusions. She now realized she'd never actually fought with Lazarus unlike the numerous occasions she'd originally thought. There were flashes in between the memories of seeing Lazarus and then seeing the parties true form. Rivener, that older Raevan who was the charge of Ebony's friend, she'd fought twice. She remembered him mentioning Zul and keeping away from him, but Delia wasn't entirely sure why he'd said that. She didn't want to stay away from Zul, she liked Zul, he was her friend. This Rivener...he was a stranger and a demanding one at that. This annoyed the dark girl and her sharp wings flicked a bit in agitation. Pushing the Sigel from her mind, Delia's thoughts soon moved to another stranger. Even more stranger than Rivener. A Frei like herself, but all firey with the colors of autumn on his person. He was an absolute mystery to her having not gotten a name. Not that she could since she didn't speak and for the mere fact that she was too busy trying to kill him at the time. This sent a shiver down her already cooled spine and she gripped the blanket closer to herself. She'd been absolutely out of control, unable to curb her baser instincts. The pull to wreak destruction upon those that dared to wrong her was strong. Even now it was still there, albeit a whole lot more subdued, but still there. She'd wanted to relish in seeing her enemies bleeding and broken, gasping pleads for forgiveness and then...not giving them the satisfaction of allowing it. Delia had wanted them all to suffer, to feel her pain and it was only now that she saw how macabre it all had been. Worst of all, she'd put her guardian in direct and deliberate danger, not caring an inch for her life at the time, only what she could provide her with, owed her somehow. This was something the girl wasn't proud about, not that she was exactly proud of the other stuff, but it was definitely on top of the long list. Somehow Cordelia needed to make amends for her transgressions towards the others she had wrongfully attacked. Yet...she wasn't sure how to do that exactly. Carefully placing a hand to the cold window pane, grimacing slight at the unwelcome feeling, grey eyes look over the barren woods. She couldn't help making the connection between how she felt with what she saw. There was no joy there and the same was for her. ~~~~~~
