"This way!"
"I don't see anything! Are you sure this is the right way?!"
"It's the Bandit! Hurry!"

Ebony rolled her eyes as she watched the cops scramble around just below her. The minute they'd rushed off around the corner, the thief fell from her hidden perch and ran the opposite direction. The Durem police were just as clueless and useless as their Gambino counter parts. But hey, at least the Enforcers seemed to be secluded to the isle for now. They must have been just as greedy as she was, so life was good.

A smirk spread just beneath her face mask then as she zipped stealthly through the maze of dark buildings. Just a few more turns to be sure she'd absolutely lost those fools and she'd be home free.

"Well, time to call it a night," Kuna mumbled to herself, running her hand through her hair with a small sigh. The parlor itself had closed about an hour ago, but she had stayed late to check their ink supplies and make certain that all of the equipment was in order. She had only just now finished. Is it really so late already? the green-haired woman thought to herself after glancing at the clock. Picking up her keys and bag, she decided to go out the back way and just lock up from there. No sense in bothering to reopen the front of the store after all.

Once she stepped outside, she could hear much shouting off in the distance. Lovely. Best not to get caught up in that if possible. She quickly locked the door with her keys and started off quietly down the dark alley. Fortunately she didn't live very far from the shop, so it wouldn't take her very long to get back indoors. Provided nothing went wrong along the way of course.

It only took a moment, but that was all that was needed for the thief to look back over her shoulder to check if she was being followed before turning the corner and crashing into the female that was there already. She fell to the ground with a slight yelp, the unexpected collision twisting one of her wrists the wrong way as she landed on it. It was likely to be sprained or something, but now wasn't the time to think about first aid.

The far off shouts of the police were heard again and sounded to be growing in volume. They must have heard the noise of their little incident and were coming to investigate. Springing into action, the black haired Bandit quickly returned to her feet and hissed to the girl. "The door. Which one did you come from?" The thief's voice sounded odd, mechanical even, something like a computer would with its mathematically produced vocals.

Kuna was taken just as much off-guard by the collision as the other female was, but fortunately she wasn't hurt in the fall. Now, under normal circumstances, had she run into a girl in the alley who seemed to be being chased by a group of men, she might have tried to help her out; however, the fact that this woman was wearing a mask was a dead give-away that whatever she was involved in was not at all good, and Kuna was not about to get herself involved in it. She scrambled back up to her feet just as quickly. "I'm not about to tell you," she whispered back harshly. "If you're being chased by the cops then I'll have no part in it."

Every second that passed brought the cops that much closer to their current location. Something the Bandit was profusely against happening. She didn't have time to negotiate with this girl. So she opted for a threat, given an empty one, but it would have to suffice.

Her silver eyes narrowed dangerously, "If you value your life, you'll open that door." To emphasis her point further, the thief took a purposeful step towards the other and growled, "I won't ask again."

Kuna's mind was racing. It seemed an empty threat, but it was too dark to really see if the other woman actually had a weapon on her or not to make good with. It went against her better judgement to bring such a person into the tattoo parlor, but at least inside there were things she could possibly defend herself with. Like mace. "Fine," she answered none too happily, fetching her keys out of her pocket. "This way then."

The green-haired woman led the thief hurriedly through the dark alleyway and to the back of the shop. Once the door was opened, they both quickly ducked inside and closed the door behind them again, and not a moment too soon it seemed. "I should have left you to the police," she mumbled under her breath while listening to the sound of footsteps running by outside. "Do I even want to know why they're after you?"

Although Kuna couldn't see it, the female was smirking smugly beneath that mask as they quickly left the uncertainty of the alley behind for the more welcoming security of the tattoo parlor. It was only when the door was shut tight, effectively putting a physical barrier between them and the police, could the Bandit even begin to think of relaxing.

As was best and only sound-minded, the thief made quick work of putting distance between her and this stranger, quickly crossing to the opposite side of the room. Casually, she leaned against the wall while ticking off the time that went by so as to track when it was safe to leave. But for now, the Bandit could only count and eye the girl whom for some reason felt it was pertinent to speak to her.

Rolling her eyes, "And I should probably just kill you for your sassing. Lucky you I was only bluffing. Though don't think I'm not still considering it right now." Unthinking, the thief gently began to rub her injured wrist. "And no. The less you know, the better."

"You would kill the person who just rescued you?" Kuna replied with the slightest of smirks. "How cruel." She said nothing more after that, merely counting off the time as the thief was to see when it would be safe for them to go back out. Hm, I hope Keela remembered to feed the snake earlier, the green-haired woman thought idly to herself, strangely relaxed in spite of the current situation. There was a reasonably safe distance between the two at the moment, and even if the thief were to try anything there was a lovely group of cops not that far away at all.

The thief grinned wide at the girl's reply, although unseen to the other. She was spunky and so obviously not impressed by the presence of a masked stranger that could potentially do anything towards her given the right circumstances. It was a familiar spice in attitude if slightly different than her own, but somehow comforting at a stressed time such as this.

"No honor among thieves you know." the dark haired woman shot back. She shrugged, "But since you're not a club member...I'll let it slide just this once." One slender finger was held up as emphasis to the 'only once' remark while a single slated eye gave a sly wink.

"Only once?" Kuna replied with mock disappointment, trying to suppress her smirk. "Oh darn. I was hoping this would be a regular thing." She smiled and shook her head, glancing back over at the door. All seemed to be silent on the other side now, but how would they know for sure when it was safe to go back out?

"... So, have any other jobs on the side?" she asked casually, turning her attention back onto the mystery thief in the room. "You don't seem the type to me who just hides out when not going about your business... Of course I could very well be wrong."

A single dark brow rose in question at Kuna now. Was she really trying to make chit chat with her? A potentially dangerous thief? The Bandit shook her head, seriously thinking that there was something in Gaia's water if all the youth were like this. It just didn't seem logical to her for them to be trying to cut deals for photos or openly socializing with known criminals like this.

"And you don't seem the type to just let criminals into your mists without notifying the police." Effectively ignoring the job question and moving the conversation into a new direction, "You could easily open that door and scream to them, but you don't. Instead you talk to said criminal. Why is that?"

It was obvious that she was evading the question, but Kuna didn't really care. Quite frankly the green-haired woman would have been more surprised had the thief actually answered her, given the secretive nature of their lives. With a light shrug she responded, "Why bother? You are currently doing me no harm, and I've already let you in. By this point there would be too many questions, and frankly I don't feel like dealing with that sort of thing." Plus, even if she were to try such a thing as calling to the police, the dark-haired thief could easily cross the room to silence her should she wish to. It would be a rather reckless move on her own part.

She briefly pulled her cell phone out of her pocket to glance at the time before continuing. "As far as talking with you goes... you may be a criminal, but you are still a human being. I see no harm in idle conversation."

As logical as her answer had been, it also seemed full of holes. Rational, law abiding citizens normally would have found a way to keep out of troublesome situations. They would have never allowed her to get this far, even in the face of a death threat. They would have alerted the police immediately upon sight of her masked ensemble which so obviously marked her for a thief if not the elusive Shadow Bandit. This girl...she must not have been very caring of legalities to begin with, but had it really been the earlier threat that won her over for harboring a criminal?

The thief shook her head silently to herself, realizing how dumb people were when it came to the nature of thieves. Kuna should have known that most were essentially flighty at best, not ever wanting it to come down to a fight if they could help it. The Bandit was not so different. Although, she didn't avoid it for herself, normally it was for the sake of others. Besides, it was more fun and challenging to allude them.

"Human?" She asked in a voice that cracked with the pressure of holding back laughter despite the electronic overtures. Another amused grin went unseen by the leafy haired youth then. "How do you know I'm human? It's a very rare thing to be just such in a place like Gaia. Even if there is a part of humanity in me, it could be easily hiding something entirely more just beneath it. Possibly something quite sinister."

"That is very true," she admitted, looking the thief over contemplatively. "Perhaps you are not just using a voice modifier, but are actually part android or whatnot. Nevertheless, you seem close enough to human to me, if not entirely." There was silence for a brief moment as Kuna listened at the door for any sounds outside. Casually, she said, "I believe you are free to go now. I assume you'll want to be on your way?" As passive as things seemed to be for the time being, it was not a wise idea to continue this on any longer than necessary. The sooner that the two of them made it out of there, the better.
