This is a METAPLOT Private Roleplay for

Ebony and Cordelia (Ebony Shade)
and
Aphismet and Rivener (Aphismet)

Time: Middle of the day
Place: Ebony Shade's home
Weather: Brisk and sunny
PostPosted: Tue Nov 24, 2009 9:59 pm

Aphismet stared at the house as he pulled into the driveway. Everything seemed quiet... Then again, HIS house seemed quiet from the outside too. It's once you stepped in that the danger began. And if Cordelia was being as crazy as Eiry, then... That might explain why Ebony hadn't picked up the phone once, despite how many times Aphismet had tried to call in concern. It'd been days now, and Aphismet had resorted to coming over to check up on her in person.

The chef's nerves were already on edge at the thought of stepping into unknown dangers, and he hadn't thought he'd need to worry about dangers he knew all too well. When the man had announced where he was going, he'd expected the same apathetic reaction as always from Rivener, but the Scorpion had all but jumped at the opportunity to come. Aphi glanced over at the unhinged fire sparking through his Sigel's eyes, swallowing. Rivener was definitely not here to help.

"W-well, I'm going to go see," Aphismet began.

"Me too," Riv answered all too sweetly, flashing a rather predatory grin. Inwardly, the Scorpion was reveling in this opportunity. That sneaky smoke-b***h isn't going to get a hand up on me this time! I'll show her who Zul belongs to! I'll show her to respect her ******** Elders!

Both men exited the vehicle and walked towards the house, only one of them creating crunching footsteps against the ground. The sound seemed too loud for the quiet house...

Grey eyes widened greatly at the sound of a car pulling up to the house. Soon they were shifting from side to side in a concerned manner. Ebony knew if she'd heard it then the snakes had most definitely heard it as well. Sure enough once approaching footsteps sounded, the snakes all began to get more agitated, slithering in tight movements or hissing/rattling.

Their queen hadn't moved much in the last few days from her curled, possessive position around her guardian, but soon that black head was slowly rising. Intruders. Cordelia's currently red eyes narrowed into a deep frown as she let loose her own dangerous hiss. How dare anyone think to come onto her territory without permission?!

With a few flicks of her tongue, the nest of serpents went to greet their moronic guests. They soon followed after, Delia latched onto Ebony in a most unusual way. The girl had bits of half solid, half smoke tendrils wrapped around the woman so she could actually manipulate the human into moving although the Brit was still very much paralyzed.

Aphismet insisted on walking up to the door first, and Rivener only agreed so that the human could be his meat shield. The chef realized this, of course, but he only sighed in resigned acceptance. He knocked on the door, calling out: "Ebony? You in there?"

He listened for a moment or two before pressing his ear to the door... There was some strange hissing sound from inside, or a rattling... Was something broken? It almost sounded like a gas leak from a stove line or something. Frowning, figuring he'd be able to tell the scent of propane easily enough, Aphismet opened the door. Ah, unlocked? That's odd...

The portal swung open and revealed a large mass of snakes. Aphismet gasped and took a few steps back, not even noticing the strange pair of human and Raevan coming towards them...

Rivener, however, noticed. He floated up higher so that he would be out of reach of the snakes, and he dashed inside the instant he spotted the girl's red eyes. With a snarl, hands outstretched to strangle the life from her, Riv attacked. Who gave a crap about the smoke tendrils amassing around Ebony? Who cared about the threatening rattle of Delia's wings? Rivener would have his revenge, dammit, and he wanted to get to this girl before she turned into invincible smoke again!

"RIVENER!" Aphismet called, taking a half-step forward but needing to stop as the closest wave of snakes reared up their heads threateningly, maws open. The chef groaned, watching his Sigel rush at the pair he only now spotted. "Ebony? ...EBS!" What was that smoke surrounding her? Why were her eyes so wild looking?! Aphismet frowned, confused... He had to get them out of there! But the snakes...

With a muffled swear, Aphi ran off the porch and towards the back yard. Near the green house, there MUST be rakes or shovels or something! If Aphi could shove the snakes away and keep them at bay, he might be able to get to Ebony! "Rake, rake," the man muttered as he searched.

Had they been able to, Ebony's ears would have perked at the familiar voice calling out to her. Had she been able to, she would have shouted to him to keep away, to not put himself in such immense danger. But of course the Brit couldn't do any of this. The best she could do was try as hard as possible to put as much frantic movement and emotion into her eyes as a warning to her friend. Luckily the massive amounts of angered serpents had stopped the white haired male dead in his tracks, yet she hadn't been aware of Rivener's presence until he was a furious flurry of red and black rushing at her and Cordelia.

The smokey Frei hissed loudly, her wings rattling so fiercely that Ebony could actually feel their vibrations wrack her body where she stood. Not that it was hard given the very close proximity of the two females. Cordelia floated them back quickly as the Sigel flew in at them and began to manipulate her human. She intended to use Ebony in a similar manner as the Scorpion had wanted to do with his guardian, yet Delia went a step further.

Ebony could feel the tendrils snake around tighter to her body, panic welling up in her as she realized what was to happen. Tears silently fell from her cheeks knowing that even if she could talk that Rivener would not listen as he too was still under the influence of the virus, that much was very clear by the blood thirsty look in his face. Suddenly her arms and legs moved in a sweeping manner, one open palm hitting the Scorpion squarely in the chest before the other hit the same. Cordelia was making Ebony fight the Sigel!

Rivener had not been expecting the human to fight him. He'd been aiming directly for Cordelia, not even bothering to pay Ebony any attention. The strikes to his chest halted his forward lunge and he flinched back, gasping for breath in his surprise. That hurt... He needed to change his tactics.

Baring his teeth, Rivener lunged forward again, this time knowing Ebony was going to be an obstacle. He grabbed for the woman when she struck next, intent on throwing her to the side, removing her from his way if only for an instant. The ruby red eyes flicked from Ebony to Cordelia, watching both, wary of more tricks.

Aphismet nearly screamed in frustration when no rake was to be found, but as he turned from the green house in anger he finally spotted a rake: barely visible under the back porch, the sunlight catching its prongs. "OH thank god!" the chef breathed, running to retrieve the garden tool.

With rake in hand Aphismet ran back around towards the front door, hoping it wasn't too late. Hoping no one was hurt yet!

His surprise all too soon turned to anger once more and now it was directed towards Ebony thanks to Cordelia. Forced to go in for a punch, she couldn't flinch at the pain he caused at catching it. Rivener was a lot stronger than any human male she'd ever fought with and she thought her bones would snap right through her skin if he gripped any tighter.

Cordelia splayed her dagger-like wings wide in rage as her lips pursed tight in a sinister hiss. Who was he to put his hands on what was hers?! Given she was using said hers to defend for herself, but that was not the issue here. The Sigel did not have permission to be there and he did not have permission to touch what wasn't his! A scaly hand lashed out to swipe at his face while her tendrils forced the purple haired female to yank on Rivener's ribbon knowing full well the unpleasantness of such an act.

Meanwhile, the Basilisk's brood were slithering about trying to launch themselves at the rampaging male Raevan, with little success, as others had gone after the other human in hopes of stopping one the intruders for their mistress.

Rivener held onto Ebony until he saw her go for his ribbon. He'd already flinched out of Cordelia's reach when she swung at him, nearly dropping the purple-haired woman from his grip in so doing, and he wouldn't have that again. Roaring, the Scorpion threw Ebony bodily somewhere into the room, hopefully far enough away that the smoke-stuff wouldn't have control of her anymore. Then again, Riv had no idea what kind of range Delia could work with.

Once Ebony was, for the moment, pushed aside Rivener launched himself at Cordelia again, wings spread wide in a threatening display. "Zul is MINE!" Rivener roared, enraged, reaching for the Basilisk.

Aphismet turned the last corner to the front door and nearly stepped on a rattlesnake. Letting out a rather un-manly squeak of surprise, the chef fell back a few steps, blinking in shock: the snakes were coming out after him! ...But he could hear things being knocked around inside, he HAD to get in there! Groaning, hoping he wasn't going to trap himself into the house with snakes on every side, Aphi wielded his rake and stepped forward.

He pushed the snakes off the side of the porch and tried to make his way inside, sticking to the walls so that he wouldn't have to watch his back. Frantically, he sought out Ebony and the Raevans.

Cordelia suddenly found herself shield-less as her guardian was ripped from her clutches and tossed aside like a simple rag doll. Zul? Reptilian red eyes looked at the other curiously for a moment. She vaguely remembered that name, a faint memory floating to her snake muddled mind at the utterance of it. What was he going on about with talking of the demon Frei now?

"Sheza kiresh ka zaha?" uttered the youth in a low, hushed manner as she drifted just out of his reach once more, wisps of smoke catching where the Scorpion's claws had barely managed to touch.

The Brit skidded across the wooden floors and hit the wall near the front door with a loud thud. She could feel the pain, yet Ebony still could not find the means to make it known either in physical gestures or vocally. However she had a full view of the two dark Raevans circling one another like the predators they were. Not to mention she could very well see the slew of snakes sliding just inches past her nose, all of them still greatly agitated. She hoped that none of them felt the urge to bite her anytime soon.

Rivener growled, eyes flashing. Just his luck, another addle-brained idiot who didn't speak regular people-talk. He had no idea what the hell she'd just said, and he had no ******** mind to ask. His claws had raked through nothing but smoke, unsatisfying to say the least. He'd have to be patient, that's all. Maybe circle her and force her to back up into a corner, where she wouldn't get away....

Rivener's wings rustled and snapped open wide from time to time, doing their own version of Cordelia's rattle. The stingers at the tips of each wing were still wrapped up, preventing the almost-constant production of venom from dripping everywhere, but in his aggressive state the Sigel was producing so much it had soaked the bandages through. Droplets of the toxins fell to the ground, harmlessly hitting the scaly snakes below. They were starting to hurt, his stingers... They were too full again, nearly bursting, and Rivener needed to poison something! As he circled Delia, he struck out at anything that came within reach: a desk, a coat, the wall, sharp stinger sinking into the material, whatever it was. It almost seemed like Riv was crawling along instead of floating, using his stingers as arms. It felt a little better, but not enough! He needed something soft, something fleshy to poison!

With another snarl, he attempted a new lunge for the girl, claws first.

Aphismet managed to make it into the entrance far enough to spot the two Raevans fighting. Aphi swore: he knew Rivener wouldn't listen to him. His best bet, his only option really, was to try and get Ebony to safety. Together they could try to figure out a way out of this! Dark brown eyes searched around-

Ah, there she was, against the wall! Shoving snakes away still, Aphismet made his way over to the woman. Once at her side, Aphi tried to lean down while still shooing the reptiles away with one hand on the rake. He gripped one of the brit's arms and began trying to pull her away from the snakes, pushing at the creatures around Ebs to make sure they wouldn't bite her. "Holy hell, there are so many," Aphi muttered, struggling to get a proper hold on the woman. "C-can't you move, Ebs?"

One could almost feel the anger and frustration emitting from her grey orbs then as she stared at the chef. What a stupid question to ask, of course she couldn't move! If she had been able to didn't he think she'd be able to keep the snakes off her or something? Ebony mentally hushed herself, remembering it wasn't Aphi's fault she was paralyzed. With those same eyes, she rapidly shifted them to the side, gesturing towards the door in an attempt to get the man to move them outside.

Obviously he hadn't understood her and that got the girl's cold blood boiling again with discontent. Cordelia snaked back, swaying to and fro while Rivener kept a steady pace after her. It was almost like they were dancing...if it weren't for the fact that they were trying to kill one another that is. She watched as he advanced, sinking his stingers into anything that was remotely in his way. There was something deadly in them as she watched a few of the items began to degrade and dissolve. The Basilisk couldn't help being a tad impressed by such a toxic display, something deep within her soul rumbling with the satisfaction of such destruction.

Just when she'd thought he had given up on actually attacking, Cordelia coiled in anticipation of counter-attacking him. But it seemed they'd both had the same idea and two claws clashed loudly. The Snake growled and snapped at the Sigel, hoping to sink her fangs into some portion of flesh during her attempts. He was strong! Maybe she should try reasoning with him? "Kishe aszu cula mesha, keli sheza za?"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 27, 2009 9:29 pm

Rivener laced fingers violently with Cordelia as their two dark-clad bodies met. By some miracle the girl was able to keep Rivener from completely knocking her over, although the snakes might have something to do with that as well: Riv did NOT want to be anywhere close to the ground. When the girl snapped her jaws at him, Riv flinched out of the way and then returned in kind, snapping just as she had.

She spoke again in some crazy language, frustrating Rivener further. Was it HIM whose comprehension was ******** up? Was she speaking human and Rivener just couldn't tell anymore? "Shut up! I have nothing to say to you, unless you swear to never see Zul again!"

His anger mounting at the mere idea of his precious Zul wrapping this girl in his arms, calling her "his", Rivener roared loudly, setting a nearby painting to shaking against the wall. Gripping Delia's hands tightly, Riv spun around and threw the girl against a wall, desperately trying to cause her pain. She should feel SO much pain!! With another roar and snap of his wings, Riv threw himself at her again.

Aphismet couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with Ebs. Was she poisoned, is that why she couldn't move? Or was it- he swallowed- a basilisk power Cordelia had inherited from her very dangerous Soul? Making a mental note NOT to look the frei in the eyes, Aphismet finally managed to snake (BAD choice of terms!) an arm under Ebony's shoulders. Hoisting her up into a better position, Aphismet began shoving snakes away from his path once again, heading for the door.

A few snakes had gotten back onto the front porch, one of which tried to bite Aphismet's ankle. Thank god the chef had been wearing boots, too thick to be bitten through. He kicked the reptile away and hurried to get Ebony to the car, throwing the rake to the ground before he lept onto the hood, the brit in his arms.

"O-okay, they shouldn't get us up here..." Gently he placed Ebony down against the windshield. He began looking her over, checking for any obvious bites on legs or arms. "Oh man this is so crazy..." he mumbled to himself.

Again he talked of Zul, but it was with such anger. What was he saying?! Why couldn't she understand?! Why couldn't he understand her?! As her rage built and the girl began to seethe at the Scorpion, very close to paralyzing him as well with that serpentine gaze, the Sigel roared and slammed her against a wall. The parts of Cordelia that were smoke merely puffed up and out before settling back, yet with the solid parts she very much felt the pain he wanted her to suffer through. It hurt badly, but not as much as her earlier pains. Cordelia would endure this and continue on to win this fight.

She gave a scream as Rivener pounced on her, digging his sharp nails into her flesh. After the initial shock, Delia hissed and began beating her razor sharp wings at him. Surely it'd be enough to get him to back off once more?

The further the human duo got from the two fighting Raevans, the more control Ebony could feel seeping slowly back into her limbs and other body parts. When her lips felt loose enough, she experimentally opened and closed them before finally attempting to speak to Aphismet. "F-fi...fire...ex..extin-guisher..." she paused to swallow and lick her dry lips. "Ga-garage! Go!"
PostPosted: Fri Nov 27, 2009 10:11 pm

Rivener grinned malevolently at the feeling of his fingers sinking into skin. He allowed himself a brief laughter before the trembling stingers raised up, ready to strike.

Sharp wings suddenly flayed at Rivener's body then, scratching all along the Scorpion's arms and tearing a rip in one of the leathery stretches between Riv's bone-wings. "AAAAAUGH!" Riv yelled in pain, releasing the damned girl and floating up to the ceiling, gripping at his wing. He grimaced and looked at the damage: the thin leathery membrane now had a hole. He wondered if she'd destroyed his ability to fly?!

Enraged, the Scorpion snapped his eyes back to her face. He'd NEVER hated anyone as much as he despised this god-damned girl. He bared his fangs and let out a strange clicking hiss, a sound he'd never made before. He moved along the ceiling, closer, closer... He'd drop on her from above if he needed to, he'd pin her into the damned snakes if he had to. He was going to KILL her, and then DEVOUR her to make sure there was nothing ******** left to put back together!!!

Aphismet startled at the voice, not expecting the woman to be able to speak. Her halting words took a moment to decipher, and the naive chef frowned over at the house: was it on fire? Why would they need the-

"OH!"
he exclaimed, suddenly catching on. It'd be cold! It would be possible to not only render the snakes almost immobile or fleeing, it would also calm the warring Raevans down! "Okay! I've got it!"

Leaving the brit there to finish recovering on her own, Aphismet jumped over the snakes amassed around the vehicle, rolling to the ground harmlessly before breaking at a dead run for the garage. He dashed to the side door and burst in, letting his eyes adjust to the dark while he began searching for the familiar form. Red, cylindrical... Should be easy to spo-

There it was! the chef let out a breath and ran to the thing.

Cordelia breathed a sigh of relief once the pinning feeling of the Scorpion's nails finally let up, Rivener retreating oh so briefly for the time being. Yet the Snake tilted her blackened head in confusion as she heard him let loose with a hiss of his own. How very odd? He wasn't a snake like her? Then why...? Scaled, red eyes watched him scrabble up onto the ceiling curiously and perhaps a bit intrigued by this new development. Although this was the case, Delia still hissed threateningly back towards the black and red Sigel. He would not escape her so easily! Slowly, her body rose up to meet the other.

The British woman watched as her student ran off after interpreting her words. She gave a loud sigh although it would do nothing to alleviate her worry for the two half-formed beings fighting in her house then. Yet until Cordelia's paralyzing hold had finally let Ebony go completely, there wasn't much of anything she could do to help Aphismet in his quest. It was all up to him at this point.
