After a few days locked in the house with nothing much to do and Cordelia still not making any progress speech wise (she didn't even seem like she wanted to try), Ebony was a little grateful when Yuurei called to reiterate her previous offer of getting together. So after a few quick exchange of words, the girls had decided to meet up at the mall and shop for some Halloween stuff. The Brit thought it would be nice for her Raevan to forget the week's previous transgressions and celebrate her first true holiday the right way. Complete with costumes and candy.

While Ebony looked to her cell's digital clock and wondering for the sixteenth time whether they'd agreed to meet at the food court at one or one-thirty, the Basilisk had taken to drinking in her new environment. There were so many people and so many things happening all at once! She was curious to everything and anything anyone did while in her line of sight. Like why'd that couple suddenly decide to sit clear across the cafeteria rather than the table next to them of which they had been walking towards until the last minute? Delia hadn't realized that it was because of her and her inability to not stare. It really threw people for a loop especially once they realized she had no lower half as well.

Suddenly, Delia grabbed onto the bottom of her guardian's jacket and gave it two light tugs. Grey meet grey with a curious, but some what apprehensive nature. Had something happened?! But just as the woman's mind was reeling into whatever horrors it could conjure up, the smoke Raevan pointed a slender finger towards the approaching figures. Ah, she must have noted the similarities between her and Lucia immediately and just wanted to make her discovery known. It quickly put the Brit's anxious thoughts to rest.

"Ello Yuurei, Lucia. It's so very nice to see you again. How have you been?" Again came that insistent tugging on her person along with a pouty look from her dark ward. Why wasn't she introducing her?! She wanted to know them too! Ebony chuckled, "I'm sorry, this is Cordelia. Cordelia, meet Lucia..." she pointed to the Cat and then to the blonde. "And her guardian Yuurei."

The youngster was eager to meet new friends and smiled brightly at the two before her. It was great to meet another female like herself since she'd only yet to encounter the male variety. Cordelia was just about to give her patented touching of the cheeks to show her happiness at meeting them when Ebony grabbed her hands. Again she pouted, but it wasn't long, just enough for the purple haired female to rub the cold hands warm so that the others wouldn't be shocked by their temperature.

There was a moment of pause and eying of her guardian as if to ask, are you quite done? Finally, the dark girl resumed her previous greeting with a slightly warmer touch to each of the ladies cheeks.

"Yes I remember. I will have to check my schedule, but I don't think there's much to shuffle around if any at all." She chuckled at Yuurei's response. "Yes, a lot tamer than I would have ever imagined, but cute nonetheless, thank you. Oh and I'm sorry about the touching, she can't or won't speak, I'm not sure which yet, but she is fond of making physical contact with others in order to help communicate things. Though..." She carefully slid closer to the blonde and whispered, "I think it's mostly because she wants to feel the warm. She's cold-blooded, snake and all."

Indeed, the girl was cold and with the weather today, Ebony had to bundle the poor thing up in order to even get her out the door before this meeting today. Luckily they'd found a jacket that could slip on easily over that thick vest and a scarf to not only help with the warmth issue, but to also hide that nasty hickie Lazarus had given her a few days prior. It was something the violet haired woman was not keen on explaining or remembering at the moment.

The Basilisk's grin broke wider at Lucia's quick peek to her cheek. Lightly, she touched where the other girl's lips had just been in awe. She was so cool! Another way to say hello! Delia would have to try it out sometime soon. But now was not the time to think of such things because the Raevan's lips were quickly on the move. She tried to keep up and process what was said, but unfortunately a lot of it didn't sink in. This understanding spoken language thing was harder than it looked.

Even though she wasn't exactly sure what the other had said, she did know that something fun was going to happen. Thus the dark haired Frei nodded enthusiastically at the Cat and quickly grabbed her arm and was pulling into the direction of the stores. They would go! Go now and do this fun thing! It never occurred to her that she had no idea where the mall kept the Halloween stuff.

There was no question that Cordelia would have just kept floating straight ahead with no real direction if Lucia hadn't stopped her. Her strong resolve seemed to lose steam then as slated orbs looked up at the looming store front wearily. She followed closely behind her new friend nonetheless though, not wanting to seem, ironically, like the scaredy cat.

When Lucia jumped, so did she and shot the mechanical mummy a death glare. It seemed like every inch they moved made something jump out at them in this store. If this was what Halloween was about...Delia was beginning to think she didn't want anything to do with it at all. At the comment about the guy being ripped into halves, the Basilisk only nodded in disinterest. An odd thing for her to do because almost everything fascinated her newborn mind.

Grey eyes widened nearly out of her sockets when her ward took off with the other Frei, their black ribbons spiraling crazily behind them. She was just about to shout for the girl to wait when Yuurei spoke up, suggesting they hurry after them. Ebony nodded and walked quickly beside the blonde, her eyes never losing sight of the girls.

Luckily they stumbled upon an appropriate store soon and the Brit could finally relax some, but apparently not enough, Yuurei's question throwing the violet femme's guard back up. Someone must have been smiling upon her then though since the troubling question was slumped into the middle of the woman's words and she could easily pretend like she'd not heard it at all. "No problem. I'm glad she liked it all. And no, I've never been to one of these stores particularly. It looks like they got anything you could think of." She chuckled while stopping and poking at a rubber mouse that was twitching in between a trap. "And everything you didn't. So...your party, who else was invited? More Lab people?"

She shrugged, "Might as well. Cordelia needs a lead to follow so to speak." Manicured fingers carefully rifled through some costumes before producing a wine colored medieval dress. "What do you think?"

Delia snaked after Lucia with lack luster energy, her mood only growing more sour the longer they stayed in this horrible place. She eyed her violet haired guardian who was on the verge of a good time and felt let down knowing that it would be a longer time before they left now. Though...some of the costumes did look pretty. Perhaps she could suck it up and try to get back to her excitement from earlier.

At the Cat's question, she lightly tapped her chin in thought. There was a colorful gypsy outfit just off to the side, complete with all the jingle-jangled-ness one could hope for. She was just about to float over and retrieve it to show Lucia when she felt a sharp tug beneath her. With a confused frown, the Frei looked down to find some kid tugging hard and insistently at the part of her ribbon that was solid.

"Mommy Mommy! Look! Isn't it cool?! Can we pleeeeeaaaaassseee get one?! PLEASE?!" the child whined to his mother who was across the way looking at the kiddie costumes. He pulled again so hard that Cordelia felt herself yanked down closer to the ground. How rude! And just when she thought it couldn't get any worse, he was trying to tip her over to look up under her half formed chest. Suddenly, like a light being switched, the Basilisk hissed loud and sprayed her wings out defensively. Which only prompted the kid to utter an awed, "Cool..." before trying again to tip her over. That was all it took and the smokey girl was baring her fangs fully intent on sinking them into this small human who dared to touch her so!

"Really? I don't know, the color's nice, but it doesn't feel quite right to me." Ebony placed the costume back before looking to the witch outfit Yuurei picked. "Hey that would look great on you!" Just when the Brit was beginning to let loose and get a little girly with her new friend, a shouting and hissing caught her attention. For a moment, the woman could only blink at the blonde and guess at what was going on.

The child paled at the sudden vicious nature of this...this creature! It was aware that it was a living thing now that another was shouting at him and stuff. Quickly he scurried off back to the folds of his mother, crying and profusely embarrassed. Cordelia on the other hand was finding it hard to 'relax' as Lucia had suggested. In quick jerking motions, she tried to look beyond the Cat and to her prey, but to no use now for it was gone.

Her attention finally came to lay on the dark Raevan before her as the other tried to calm her. For some reason she felt the growing desire to bite this one too, for getting in between her and the enemy. Something clicked back into place then though, her want of not hurting her friend out weighing that of her baser instincts. She felt herself struggling between it and logic which unnerved her some, but managed to gain control once more.

Suddenly she felt like her neck was on fire. Warm was good, but this was too hot! Burning almost. The girl yanked that scarf off to allow her body to breathe, but it also gave view to that huge, purplish bruise on her neck. Was it the light or did it look like it was much worse than a few days ago?

"Cor...Cordelia?" she asked confused by the sudden outburst. It was one thing to get upset, but that was flat out anger, menacing and dangerous. Those thoughts left her mind when the snake girl unveiled her wound. It took her by surprise and Ebony couldn't help, but wince at the mark.

Just as quickly as the blood in her veins rose to boiling, it just as suddenly spiked right back down leaving the onyx clad girl shivering from the chill. She slowly wrapped her arms about herself in the attempt to gain back some warmth, but also because she felt slightly ashamed for her over-the-top reaction. It was one thing to be angry for what the boy did, but a whole other to want to fight Lucia then as well. In that split moment...she'd seen the other as a real threat. One that needed to be eliminated. The dark thought made Cordelia shiver again.

As soon as the feline femme called her, Ebony was there, placing a hand gently to her ward's forehead. She frowned at the icy skin, not finding any trace of the fever the other Frei had spoken of. How odd. Fever's didn't just come and go like that, and the Brit knew that Lucia wouldn't make something like that up. It didn't make any sense. With worry in her eyes, "Cordelia...do you want to go home?"

Home? Yes, the Basilisk knew that word and understood. She looked to Yuurei and Lucia, an apology shining in that hematite gaze. Delia didn't want to go and spoil their day, but...home sounded too good to pass up right now. In a slow, pitiful manner, she nodded to her guardian.

Ebony let loose a tiny sigh of relief. Even though she'd given the girl the choice, she really wanted to take her home now in light of things. Picking up the discarded scarf and wrapping it back around Cordelia's neck loosely this time, "I'm terribly sorry you two. But I do think it's best we call it a day. I'll call you later about the party. Hopefully Cordelia will be up for it then."
